She is always open to any ideas I have for styling and has great suggestions for how to keep my look fresh while still accommodating for my slacker ways when it comes to touching up my roots, etc. She is very skilled and personable, and I just adore her. I've also brought my young daughter to The Head Room for haircuts with Jamie and Andrea. They both did fantastic work and were very sweet and patient--I imagine preschoolers are typically not stylists' favorite clients, but you wouldn't know it based on our appointments. I feel pricing at the salon is reasonable, on par with what you'll be charged at other similar salons in the area. The only issues I've ever had at the salon, as other reviewers have mentioned, are with booking appointments. It can very challenging to get an appointment for color within a few weeks of calling, so it's necessary to plan ahead quite a bit (not my strong suit). I had one incident where I actually remembered to book my next color and cut at the front desk immediately following an appointment. When I showed up for the next appointment a couple months later, the salon had no record of it. I had the appointment card from the front desk and everything, but there was really nothing that could be done at the time so it was a wasted trip. They were very apologetic and helpful about making a time to squeeze me in the next week, but it was a frustrating experience. Not enough to keep me away but worth mentioning. Overall, a great salon that I highly recommend. Just keep in mind that appointments (especially for color) may need to be booked out a few weeks in advance and if you don't receive a reminder call for your upcoming appointment, it'd be good to contact the salon and confirm your booking before making the trip over.

I am a brunette with short wavy curly hair. Carol really takes her time to listen to you and to do your hair. She used a razor (which has a wavy edge) to cut my hair. It really helped to bring out the individual waves/curls. I also say wavy/curly hair as it is not tight curls. But with the right cut it helps bring the curls out. I wanted a cut to where I did not have to be a professional to style my hair at home. I do not like to spend a lot of time with my hair and Carol made that possible. All I have to do now is wash my hair and maybe put a tiny bit of curl product in and either scrunch it or pull it over in the front and I have a beautiful style. I am 69 and this is the very first time anyone has ever cut my hair to where it really accentuates my facial features. If you had a bad experience there, I would recommend to try them once again. When you are dealing with someone, always repeat and make sure they know what you want. That is one thing I have finally learned after all the cuts (among many other things) in my 69 years of life. Make sure they know what you want and that they take the time to hear what you want. Sometimes people are in a hurry, but just need to be reminded in a kind way to slow down by letting them know you want to make sure the two of you are on the same wave length. I am sorry anyone may have had any unwanted experience here, as that is not mine. One person there wears hearing aids and so she misses some of the conversation. She is a sweetheart, but sometimes people are short with her and she misses out because of it. But, I can tell you she will do her best to get the cut that works with what you want. I have only gone here twice, but I know that if i don't get the exact thing I want the first time, by working with the stylist there I will get what I want. Sometimes people have some hardships going on and it is well worth our time to extend grace to them. Then after a few tries either try another stylist there or move on.
