I do not say the following lightly: Nikolai is by far one of the most talented massage therapists I…read morehave ever had the luxury of booking a session with! I've been managing back & muscular pain with massage and bodywork therapy for 15+ years due to a scoliosis that causes overworked back/shoulder muscles as well as the occasional athletic-based injury. Rarely do you find someone like Nikolai who is the trifecta of talent: fantastic technical skills (read: amazing pressure), listening skills (to tailor your session) and a deep diagnostic understanding of how the body's systems interact. For myself, the goal of a massage is first and foremost to be a physically therapeutic experience; to relieve very targeted pain/tension and enable better range of motion in problem areas on my body. I'm not looking to take a nap on the table, I'm looking for a therapist that understands the complex interplay of the musculoskeletal body system. Nikola was so receptive to explanations of what felt wrong in my body, but more importantly, he brought to each session a focus on diagnosing and understanding WHY tensions were being held where they were, and discussing how to relieve and prevent them. He employed a combination of classic massage techniques, kinetic bodywork, hot + cold therapy, some supplemental topicals/treatments, and (I cannot stress this enough) a comfortable and open environment to discuss exercise/physical habits that may have led to injuries and tightness. All the above added up to: leaving my apt feeling physically fantastic post session, as well as so much better educated about how to prevent and treat persistent stress and tension. I came in with severe pain and tightness in my shoulder due to a rotator cuff injury, and the fact that he was able to work around a recent stressor + congenital skeletal issues is pretty impressive. YES, the price tag here is on the high end of bodywork type services I've even received, but between the high cost of living in Aspen and the amazing service provided, I cannot recommend Nikolai with more enthusiasm. His knowledge, experience and skillset are priced fairly for the benefit your body will receive!

Enter Rolfing In Aspen, a Rolfer certified by The Rolf Institute for Structural Integration, Fiona is a natural at helping re-balance the body so it works more efficiently and with ease. She's also a certified massage therapist as well and comes from an interesting background in sports, movement and working in the medical and health world. Anyway, I heard about her from a buddy that was going to have a neck surgery and did not ending up needing it after he completed a Rolfing 10s series with Fiona. I heard that she's busy working with top executives, musicians, dancers, elderly, elite athletes, youth and the like so I was not sure if I'd be able to get in. Left a message and sent a txt and she got back to me that night and we set up a time. After securing an appointment, I made the trip to Aspen and came in to the tidy office with the lower back thing, crappy posture a gammy knee and a forearm burn from the BBQ. She took the time to understand what was going on and told me straight up how she could help but also let me know what I'd need to do and be responsible for. After just one 90 minute session, I was feeling lighter and free of knee and lower back issues I came in with. Also became very aware of the way I had been holding myself and the improvement that's been made. A super bonus is that night I had the best sleep I've had in years. I've now done 7 of the 10 sessions that's recommended and I'm in better balance and health than I've been in years. Many people have also commented that I seem taller and happier, which is how I feel. And that deep tissue laser machine, Fiona also used it to help speed forearm burn healing which now is without a scar. Wellness is what Rolfing in Aspen is all about!

When I asked my health care company why this was not covered they said because the claim did not come through as preventative. In other words the provider sent the wrong "codes". After several calls with healthcare and provider and sometimes both together at the same time. It was continuously determined that the provider continued to send the wrong "codes". I went around this circle for the better part of a year. Essentially went for basic care and ended up with a huge headache. I have never dealt with such incompetence. It was really bad. Also the care I received felt very generic as I don't believe I ever saw the actual doctor that runs the office, which would have been nice as a new patient. All in all a terrible experience that was stretched out over the course of a year. And to top it off, when I called to express my dissatisfactions as well as submit my final payment after all was said and done, they acted like they could not care less. Will never return to this office.

I called his office and made an appointment with him. When I arrived, I was seen by someone else. I was seen by many people actually. I met Dr. Pevny on my way out of the business. The physicians assistant who saw me is not an in-network provider. I am now expected to pay the entire bill because it is out of network. I have tried since January to resolve this problem with the doctors office and they refuse to call me back. A patient should not be expected to walk around a doctors office and ask everyone who sees them whether or not they are in-network, when the patient made an appointment with the doctor himself and he is listed as in-network on the insurance company website. I have tried for five months to resolve this problem with Dr. Pevny's office. No one has bothered to call me back. On top of this, right after I was seen, I called to request a copy of my x-rays. No one called me back for that either. I do not live in Aspen and I cannot go to this business and resolve this problem in person. For this reason they get two stars. I cannot imagine what would've happened had I needed help from them immediately after visiting the office. I'd still be waiting. How the doctors office treats you is part of the care that you get. If they are not interested in helping their patients you should not do business with them.
