Forever Grateful to Big O Tires!…read more We weren't far outside Denver heading to a family wedding in Buena Vista when the front tire went flat on us. It then started raining. Luckily we could hobble off 285 into Conifer and made it to a King Soopers parking lot. We soon found out the can of Fix-a-Flat wasn't going to cut it -- we had heavy, precious cargo. The minivan was loaded down with all the booze for the weekend celebrations! The woman in the car parked next to us saw our predicament and suggested we call Jerry Schroppel, the owner at Big O. It was nearing closing time but the Big O rep said "Come on over quick. We have your tires in stock." Big kudos to Jerry & Co.! The team got all 4 new tires on and finished up for us in 20 minutes (or less). The service was great and the prices were very fair. Being from Florida, and in over a barrel, we thought the costs would be crazy high, but not at all. Wow, just wow! Also, thanks to Beth in the black Mercedes parked next us for the recommendation! Me, the groom's father and the groom's grandmother are back on the road and even going to make our dinner reservations in Buena Vista. Queue up that classic Willie Nelson song!

A while back, I hit bad pothole that damaged a tire and I knew that I needed an alignment. The car…read morealso has an oil leak and was parked for a while (my second car), so I waited to swap the winter wheels and tires for all-seasons in the garage. During that process, I noticed the lower control arm bushings were shot so there was no point in getting the alignment taken care of until the bushings were repaired. I dropped it at Firestone near me to fix the oil leak since that was the most pressing issue on the car, and then had them quote the bushings - they wanted to replace the control arms, with bushings and ball joints at $374 per side in parts, and $135 per side in labor - or a total of $1,018. Well, I looked around online and found that I could buy the same control arm, bushing and ball-joint parts as a pair for BOTH sides for anywhere from $145-$185 (they wanted $750 for the same parts!). I called Subie Doctor next, and they quoted me about $50-100 cheaper for the entire job. Then I remembered seeing Subarus parked outside Clarkson's whenever I visited family that live in the Conifer area and gave them a call. Mike listened to my needs and quoted $130 per side to replace the control arm bushings that I had already identified as needing a fix, or, he said, if I wanted to buy the Control Arm, Bushing, and Ball Joint assemblies I'd found online, they'd install my purchased parts for $90 labor for both sides! I ended up deciding to just have them replace the bushings so I called back to schedule an appointment and talked to Sung. I asked them to replace the passenger side and inspect the driver's side and let me know if it needed it - then give me a call and let me know how it looked. They called me up, said I should replace both sides, and notified me they found one of the front swaybar links needed to be replaced - they quoted another twenty-some bucks for the part, and I'm pretty sure they didn't even add any extra labor. Another hour or so later and they called back saying the car was ready whenever I could come back to get it. I couldn't be happier with the service they provided. It was honest, no-nonsense and courteous every interaction. I went from a quote of more than $1,000 to a quarter of that and all I had to do was drive 20 miles up the hill - I'll take that deal any time. To Mike and Sung - Thank you. I sure wish I'd called you about that oil leak in the first place - probably would have saved me another $100, but now I know!

Tech didnt just drain and replace oil but measured how much was in the case and showed me a rather nasty leak on the oil heat exchanger. We determined that if the oil was filled it would be safe to go down the hill to get it repaired as it was beyond the scope of what they do. Another tech came out and gave me the name of a Volvo specialist in Denver that he assured me would provide excellent services. Apart from being very knowledgeable of Subaru rebuilds, they are great people. They made time to answer all of my questions prior to starting the build to ensure everything was to my satisfaction And even after the build they have been very helpful with any maintenance questions or concerns. They delivered the car in a timely manner for all the work required. Although It maybe Slightly out of the way for anyone in Denver like myself, doing business with this crew is well worth it. I first went to Sid's after another mechanic told me I would need to spend ~$650 on new brakes,…read morestruts, etc... The people at Sid's took care of me. The previous mechanic had over reacted, the rotors could be turned, but yes I did need new struts...total cost ~$250. Since then, I always try to make it back to Sid's. Today reminded me why. I was getting a busy signal at Sid's and was in a hurry to make an appointment for my brakes to be checked again...so I called another mechanic. Who proceeded to lecture me on all the things that could be wrong, tell me how busy they were so couldn't guarentee a time, and more or less talked down to me. Once I had hung up with them, I called Sid's again. They told me the likely problem, the approximate time for repair, and to go ahead and come in this afternoon.

This guy saved my bacon…read more My mom loves horror movies and The Shining is one of her favorites. She didn't realize the Stanley Hotel was here in Colorado so I took her and her old man up to see it. After that we went through Rocky Mountain National Park before heading back down to Southern Colorado. We stopped for food in Granby and caught a flat. Thought I had a spare bit the car had a donut. Crap. Well, it wasn't ideal but we were mobile again at least, if still 4-5 hours from home. Not half an hour later just past Tabernash, we hit a pothole that BENT THE RIM OF THE DONUT! Called for a tow and was going to Idaho springs to spend the night while he had someone coming to get them to take them back home. I started looking for tire places in Idaho Springs for tomorrow (it was Sunday and sun was going down so NO WAY would anything be open). Imagine my surprise when Pure Mobile Tire showed up as OPEN!!! I thought for sure it had to be wrong but took a chance and called anyway. Sure enough he was open. He asked what kind of tire I needed and I told him. He said he would check to see if he had one and call me back. He called me back a couple of minutes later and said he did! Wish I had called him instead of my insurance roadside assistance! The tow dropped is off in Idaho Springs and I called him again. He showed up 15 minutes later and got us back on the road not long after. $40 for the tire, and $100 for the service call... At almost 11 at night ON A SUNDAY!!! 3AM and we're back home safe after a very eventful day. If not for Pure Mobile Tire I would have been stuck in a hotel tonight while a friend drove for 10+ hours total round trip to pick up my folks and take them back home and get back home himself. Extremely reasonable, knew what he was doing, and quick! He took the tire (the original flat) off the wheel, mounted the replacement, took off the donut and put the real tire back on the car. 10/5 stars!
