I wanted to share my experience as a job applicant because I don't think most people understand how incredibly bad some of these non-profits treat their employees or potential employees. I was excited to see a mobile crisis position posted, which clearly stated in the job description that they would consider people who were NOT licensed clinicians and/or just had a Bachelor's degree. I actually have a Master's degree and solid work experience in crisis, I am just not licensed. After talking to Skylar Severson about the role, it was clear to me that what they stated in the job description was deceptive and just not true and after being given the run-around for several WEEKS, was told "Oh yeah, they just changed the description, and we are only accepting licensed candidates now." Well, you got caught LYING. Blatant lying, so that you can cast your net wide and see how many candidates you can get. This is completely deceptive, likely illegal, and had a contacted an attorney, probably grounds for calling these a-holes out. It's really sad bc I love doing the actual crisis work, but am almost feeling forced to do another line of work because of the way most of these non-profits treat people. Do better. read more
