I am very disappointed in writing this review. I have been going here for over a year and loved the dental assistants and their thoroughness. However, my time and energy have been wasted on several occasions by the front desk staff to the point that I am choosing a different dental office to visit. Two of my appointments in the past few months were cancelled within 48 hours. This is extremely unprofessional. I have 3 cleanings per year through Delta Dental. I was told on two separate appointments by Aspen Dental staff that I owed out of pocket for these cleanings, which I know is not true. This time, I was told that I needed to wait 30-45 calendar days for Aspen Dental to verify my insurance. As soon as I called Delta Dental, they confirmed that this could be confirmed online within 30 seconds. I waited on a 3 way call for Aspen Dental to figure out my plan on their end and they couldn't do it after 20 minutes on the phone. It seemed like laziness to me. Delta Dental staff confirmed with me that this issue should not be happening. It seemed like this was Aspen Dental's first day in dealing with insurance so I took my service elsewhere read more

Do anybody that's thinking about getting dentures? Or dentist work done. Stay away from the Aspen dental on Capitol boulevard. There are new receptionist and office manager and finance managers are exceptionally rude. They'll hang up on you. The doctor has no clue as to how to make dentures, and neither does his people that make the dentures. My wife has been trying for 2 years to get her dentures done right? 4 years. I'm sorry, and they still can't get him to fit right? Because they don't know what they're doing. So, look for another dentist and denture office. While this establishment was very convenient, and was open on Christmas Eve for a broken crown, it was like a car sales lot. Started services without asking and suggesting what they were doing would be cheaper for the insurance aspect. They didn't clean my teeth but had several scans and X-rays done with state of the art machines. Talked with four different staff. Dentist ended up doing something that was not something most licensed Dentists would definitely not done due to chance of infection and ulceration from original piece that fell off. She didn't seem to know better. Nice staff. Untrustworthy but will make you feel like you're their best friend. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I know, you're afraid of spending money, and they lure you in with seeming affordable. They're not. And they will hustle you. If your dentist is bragging about his new i-watch and Lambo, you're about to be scammed. I've been here several times, had various (unnecessary) operations, but my last time was the absolute worst. First, making an appointment was too difficult. Long phone call holds, dropped calls, and appointments two months out. Yet, if you're a new patient, you can go online and make a new appointment next week. Hmm. I went for a general cleaning, and was told it couldn't be done because I had severe bone loss, and needed an expensive deep cleaning every so often for the rest of my life. The initial treatment would have been over $7k, with insurance. I just went to a smaller dentist office near me. He went over my X-rays and showed me I had no gum or bone loss, no infection, and just needed a cleaning. Read the other reviews, look them up online. This place is a hustle and scam. We had some problems unforeseen with bone pertruding but they discover the reverse method and filling down and remake of dentures was the perfect fix. Aspen never stop rendering high expectations. Do I recommend Aspen Dental? Maybe. It depends on how much you value your time and if you don't mind having 4 appointments to get your work done but how about when 4 appointments turns into 8 because every appointment you make gets mysteriously cancelled, rescheduled, or you go and wait for an hour and a half and sit in a room staring at a wall hoping someone notices you. I think I'm being generous when I rate them 3 out of 5 stars but that's only because I do like the end product but don't expect them to value you or your time. read more

I got dentures here. They have never fitted like they should. I've seen Dr Sarah and Dr Mo and all they say is nothing is going to keep the dentures in except implants. I'm 71 retired on a fixed income and they want $7000.00 for bottom implants. Today was the last straw. I was eating with a group when my dentures popped out. With a mouth full of food I began gagging at the table trying to keep from throwing up. Total embarrassment . These so called drs have never offered to replace this mess in my mouth. I'm going to call an attorney to see if I can sue them or get my money back and find a reputable dentist to get ones that fit. I wouldn't recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I had an appointment at 1:30. By 3:25 i still hasn't seen the dentist yet. I really only wanted a cleaning but they said on the phone that they couldn't do that until I had a full exam. I had my X-rays taken around 2:10 (after 40 min in the waiting room). It was the most uncomfortable experience of my entire life. I almost threw up. After no one came to check on me and I had been in their office for almost 2 hours, I ended up leaving and telling them I wanted to refuse all service because this was ridiculous. Decided to give this new dentist office a try based on close location. Initial impression was good - felt very comprehensive. The front desk staff and hygienist were great. However, I ended up seeing the dentist for maybe 2 minutes as a new patient after my cleaning was completed. He spent very little time with me. Also - major issues with billing. In network/accepted insurance paid very little for the initial visit (which was VERY expensive). Same with the second visit - and I NEVER saw the dentist on the second visit. Big out of pocket expenses from Aspen which I've not experienced from my previous dentist. After speaking with two billing specialists I was told their manager would be reaching out the following day. No contact to date. I will be canceling future scheduled appointments. This is one of the worst experiences (still ongoing) I have ever had. Buckle up it's a long story. I went to an Aspen Dental in Virginia Beach and had a good experience so when I moved I figured it would be easiest to find another Aspen to go to. I was quickly able to make an appointment at the one in Wake Forest. My initial appointment on like June 3rd was just to get scans and set up my insurance and payments and whatnot. The man who helps with the billing and such was incredibly friendly by the way. I set up an appointment two weeks later for an actual cleaning and to get scans for a night guard cause I have TMJ. I already paid a $100 deposit on the night guard the appointment prior. I was really excited to get a night guard because I have been in pain for years. My appointment was on like the 18th of June. My cleaning was double booked with someone else so it took a while but no big deal. I was told to set up an appointment for two weeks later to come to pick up my night guard as I was told it would be in by then and maybe sooner. I went ahead and paid the remaining $400 on the night guard cost thinking everything would go smoothly and it would be there in two weeks. On July 5th I show up at 7:30 am for my appointment (this is a thirty-minute drive for me). I walk up to the counter and the girl says "sorry it's not here yet." I do not understand why they couldn't have saved me the drive by calling to let me know beforehand.... Anyway, I set up a new appointment for two more weeks later and ask her to please call me if it is not in by then so I do not waste a drive. It's not in two weeks later. They set up about three more appointments for me about two weeks apart each time and keep calling to cancel because the night guard is still not in. Eventually, by August they stop calling to set up new appointments so I call. I was told something went wrong when they sent off the scans so they JUST now redid it and they'll call me soon. They still never do so I keep calling them. Most of the time the answering machine picks up and I leave a message asking them to please give me an update on the status of my night guard but they never return my call. A few times I have talked to someone because they happen to answer when I call. Each of those times they tell me that they are going to check with someone and will call me back. They have not called me a single time they have said they have written down my number for someone to call me. At this point, it's been almost three months. I called them this past Monday and since no one answered I left a message. I asked them to please just cancel the night guard since it is obvious it is not going to come in any time soon (been in severe pain this whole time too waiting for it) and to please just refund me my money. I have $500 tied up in this mouthguard at this point. It has been over a week since I left that message and I still have not gotten a response. I understand that you are busy and have a lot of patients and I have tried to be very understanding for many many weeks now. Simply, just returning my phone calls or calling me with updates would have been the bare minimum and made things a little better. Running me around for three months while having 500 dollars worth of my money, however, is not okay. I would recommend finding a different dentist in the area as they have way too many patients here and cannot keep up with all of them. read more

I went to Aspen Dental in Wake Forest on Capital Boulevard after being referred to them for 4 wisdom teeth to be extracted in MAY. We went to the consultation for the wisdom teeth PAIN and they talked us into buying their version of Invisalign which is fine but still no referral to a surgeon and they don't even have one on the premise. I spent $3,000 on these. I paid in cash not insurance. They forgot to clean his teeth for the appointment and they were trying to install the invisalign. I had to stop, schedule another cleaning, and still need to get a referral to an oral surgeon because they don't even have anybody that will do the surgery in their building and we don't even know if it's involved. It could be very simple but they don't have anybody to do it. I went back today for the last portion of his invisaligns and we set in a waiting room with an appointment for an hour and 45 minutes while six women were sitting around on their behinds doing nothing except talking about where they're going to go to lunch where they're going to order lunch what they're doing what TV shows they're earrings and their hair. After waiting an hour and 45 minutes my son went back into the room and he came out within 2 minutes with all the Invisalign in his hand. If we had to wait that long for 2 minutes they could have rescheduled something around to get us out of that building especially after I just gave them $3,000 of my money and I still don't have his four wisdom teeth taken out and I still don't even know of a doctor that they referred me to except for a little piece of paper they gave me on the way out the door when I lost my temper today. The dentist stated that they are understaffed with their dentists but they can budget they have six or seven people standing around waiting 45 minutes so they can clock out to get a lunch and come back and sit around again while I wait. One younger woman on the phone was the only one that was polite. Please review your staff's behavior as well as mine. It's something wrong we showed up at 11:15 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. appointment. We were early. We sat down quietly and waited for an hour and 45 minutes for nothing. Other people came in sat down and was waited on before us in the back we're all we needed to do is have something handed to us. An Invisalign box. They wanted to say I was causing a scene which I was speaking very loudly because I watched them sit on their ass for 2 hours while me and my son were almost the only people in the waiting room. Please review the footage. We got there at 11:15 a.m. and I don't believe we left until about 1:15PM. I would say I would never be back but now they have $3,000 worth of my money and still haven't worked on my son's teeth yet. Two hour wait and all they did was hand him some Invisalign stuff and said have a good day. Especially with you the footage of everyone just sitting on their butts around. You can save your Labor budget and get a rid of four or five people that don't work there at the front and actually hire a dentist to take care of your clients. You can go through my Google reviews and you can notice that most of my reviews are all positive and I'm not the person to really get negative but the word has to get out there to not go in that building and waste your money and waste your time. One woman tried to talk to me as I'm walking out the door but it was too late and I didn't want any more conflict. They should change their motto to "Somewhat Straight Teeth By Crooked People. Well, I wish I would have looked at Yelp before I went up there. The reviews are mostly terrible. I have lived in Wake Forest since I was 10 years old and I have never been treated with this much disrespect. I'm a hard-working single dad with two kids for the last 8 years and I expect to get what I pay for. No medicaid, no nothing, just working hard for my family and try to provide for them. If I even do get a reply or almost be an instant reply to go call a customer service number. As I saw on the other reviews they won't even call you back. I made an appointment to take in my upper dentures for repair. I was clear to the office that I only needed to drop off the dentures for repair. When I was taken back to 'see the dentist', they insisted I have xrays, which I refused. They also wanted to do a full dental exam, because "that's the way we do it, comprehensive dental care". I said again, I only need to leave my denture for repair (a tooth fell out). That was not acceptable to the Dentist, so I left. I have no doubt the reasoning: $$$. Note: the person making the appt and the front desk person were fantastic. I thought I would use this dentist for future dental needs (I have teeth on the bottom), but now I see how they operate, I will not do so. All I want are the Moto liners, but this office is extremely messy. I was called and told that newest revision were in and set up an appointment for April 29th. Mind you I live an hour away from this location. I show up for my appointment and I'm told there are no aligners here. They have been made and are still at the manufacturer and the lady at the desk assured me she would call me personally when they came in. Today is 5/15/24 and I took it upon myself to call since fedex can ship to my house from China in that time they shoukd have gotten these to Wake Forest in 2 weeks. I was told they are there and I have an appointment for May 29th to pick them up. They wanted me to wait 2 addition weeks to pick up week 5 when this appointment was originally scheduled to pick up week 13. They could not understand why I was frustrated. The 2nd person I spoke to was rude from the star of the conversation and tried to talk over me and when I told her I wanted to just have the buttons removed and be done with them, she hung up on me. Do not go to this location. They are extremely incompetent and incredibly rude. So this was my first time going to Aspen dental. I did not enjoy it. It took them over 2 hours to get me out of there. Apparently, they told me I had 8 cavities, I also apparently need a root canal, a crown and a gingivitis cleaning. I am brushing my teeth and flossing and rinsing out my mouth. I am looking for a new dentist. and I am not going back to Aspen Dental again. and after reading some reviews on here. i had 25 teeth removed at one time based on their recomendation. they left so many bone fragments that they had to cut my gums open 2 more times. the temporary denture i got broke in two places within a month. they maxed out my credit card and since i didnt return they have not refunded me for services not yet rendered. read more

Prices are not reasonable. They only have dental cleanings on Tuesday booking an appointment is not good. They never answer calls. And they don't accept most insurance. They always make you have X-rays that are very uncomfortable the dentist suggests a lot of extra work that insurance doesn't cover. I don't recommend them. read more

Let me start off saying everyone's dental issues are unique to them. I went here specifically to get 2 extractions (ended up only getting 1). They have an almost unbeatable membership plan. It was a good option since I have no insurance. The exam and x rays were free for a first time patient as well. Upon my first exam, the front desk ladies were very nice and helpful. The wait wasn't too long because I already filled out my patient form online beforehand. The x-rays were quick and I got along well with the woman who did them. When it came time to meet the dentist I was excited as this one tooth was giving me pain. He came in almost an hour after my x rays. I could already tell he just wanted to get me in and out of there, no pleasantries, no getting to know me or my situation. He was super quick and was out of my mouth in just a few minutes. Didn't really look thoroughly it felt like. I almost felt like I was about to be conned into getting a cleaning as well (I don't have insurance and at this point I've told at least 4 people who work there that I don't). They were almost about to give me a cleaning without even asking me even though I told them I last had one done 5-6 months ago. I had to ask is this gonna cost something? They asked if I had insurance, obviously I don't because at this point I've been repeating myself about that. It says it on my paperwork even. They were like yeah if you don't have insurance you'll have to pay. What if I never spoke up for myself, they would have gave me the cleaning and expected payment afterwards. I'm glad I didn't assume the cleaning was apart of the new patient exam. Communication definitely isn't a thing here, at least between the dentists and hygienists. The day of my extraction, that's a different story. I came in at 4:30 for my appointment. Didn't get seen until 5:10. At this point the workers there just wanted to finish their last appointments and go home so it felt rushed. I was brought to the room where the procedure would take place. The assistant gave me paper work to fill out. I was reading and asking her questions when the same dentist as my first appointment came in and interrupted me while talking to the female assistant. I didn't finish signing the paperwork yet as we were talking and he started preparing me for the extraction....mind you, I had the clipboard in hand, asking the dental assistant about post op information before he came in. When dentist came in, basically shut me and her up to just get this over with so I had to quickly finish signing. I gave him fair warning I need A LOT of numbing shots as I have red hair in my family. You could tell that he was getting annoyed because I wasn't getting numb and once he did start pulling the tooth I could still feel the pain. He had to continue to pump me with shots. He then offered me nitrous after so much time had already past like sooner would have been nicer. I said yes and he cranked it up so high I felt like I was going to die, literally. I did NOT like that. I almost couldn't speak but I was able to say please turn it down, it's too high. He chuckled and continued preparing for the extraction (probably thought I was just saying stuff because of the gas). I once again said it even louder and with a very serious tone, turn down the gas, it's too high, it's too much. He then decreased it. He got the tooth out and literally disappeared after that. The assistant was nice and gave me some instructions on keeping it clean as I was nervous about dry socket. She was nice. When I got to the car they had left blood on my face and neck that i had to clean off. I don't think I'll be getting the second tooth extraction at this location unless seen by a different dentist. It just felt very rushed, not professional from the dentist himself. I have anxiety and this place is not accommodating to that at all so please if you have anxiety like me do yourself a favor and research. When I started coming to Aspen Dental, it had been three years since I'd been to a dentist, and I knew there was some work to be done, but nobody gave me a hard time about not going to the dentist for all of that time. All of the staff there were super friendly and accommodating. The periodontist was concerned about my gum health and told me that I would need 4 sessions of deep cleaning to get back on track, but he also gave me some tips and suggestions on how to reverse my pre gingivitis. When I came back for my first cleaning, the periodontist got about a quarter of the way through the cleaning and said, "I can't see going through with this cleaning and charging you for the services, because you've managed to reverse your condition on your own." Any dentist I've ever been to prior to that probably would have charged me for the cleanings anyway, but not Mark, he was super honest about it all. Also, Dr.Spouh is super friendly and remembers all of his patients. When I mentioned getting braces again, he showed me Motto (their version of Invisalign) and showed me some results and scanned my teeth that day to show me what they could do for me. I was super impressed that he and his team took the time to do this for me. - as a side note, I've had Motto aligners for about two months now, and absolutely love them!
