Dentist Mann likes to work multiple patients at the same time... an inexperienced dental assistant ends up doing most of the work... Ashley wants to sell you insurance in case something goes wrong... I lost a tooth from redoing a filling ...I got the $2000 back but was did not get the $240 insurance back... Im still mad that I put up with assistant doing most of the work.. I spent over $10000 at Charles Ashley Mann..... I am considering submitting a complaint to the State Board of Dental Examiners.... I switched toDr Logan Eaker ant Carolinas Dentist.... He did all the work did a great job no assistant was in there doing work I'm kicking myself I did not make a change a lot sooner. read more

I would just strongly suggest you understand that they no longer take dental insurance! After 3 years, last month we paid $300 for a cleaning and X-rays for our daughter. Our past dentists took what the insurance company paid completely. Here, we always have to pay the difference but this time we paid the entire bill and now wait to be paid back once they get paid by the insurance company. This was not at all what we expected. Review their payment policy first as this practice has great reviews for their services. read more

Dr. Ashley Mann is untrustworthy, unprofessional, and incompetent. I absolutely do not recommend him or his practice in any location. I have not received treatment from his associates, but I assume anyone who would choose to be affiliated with Dr. Mann is either very similar to him or condones his behavior. While he does have a doctorate, I would never consider him a "doctor" or any type of health care provider. Through his general ignorance of medicine and lack of ethics, I can only assume he did not make the best grades in school. Anyone who has had a similar experience might want to consider filing a complaint with his licensing board. read more

I've been going to Dr. Mann for several years now and I've always had a great experience at the office. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable through my issues I have experienced; gingivectomy around a back molar tooth, chipped a molar, and the cavity :(. They are honest and unless it affects your health (or potentially could) they do not press for services. I currently have two bottom molars that are beginning to twist out of alignment, but since its in the back of my mouth and I have a permanent bottom retainer, they have let me know I don't have to do anything unless it starts to bother me. While nobody 'wants' to have to go to the dentist, they make it easy for the patient. My hygienist, Erin, always remembers me and what is going on in my life from the last time I was in (six months ago!?) and it's nice to catch up. They always finish every visit with a warm lavender towel. Dr Mann's office does free oral cancer screening too, they will file it with insurance, but it they do not pay, they zero it off the account. I will say that they are very up front with costs and they will confirm with the insurance in the event you do have to have extra services so you know what your portion of the service would cost. Sometimes I even end up with a credit because insurance paid more than they estimated. read more

The staff was super nice and helpful. I did not have a bad experience overall. I just want to put a warning out there. I was told I needed over $7,000 of dental work after my first visit and x-rays. I went for a second opinion at the family dentist my husband goes to and I really only needed about $1000 worth of work. It was very upsetting that they were willing to mislead me in such a way. My husband was just billed over THREE THOUSAND dollars for a crown that did NOT need re-doing, since our previous dentist in Michigan had done a fine job ONLY ONE YEAR AGO. Now, in hindsight, we realize that this dentist is simply (Yes, I'm going there): a money-hungry SCAMMER. In all our years of moving around the country and having several excellent dentists, we have NEVER encountered ANY sort of billing issues and problems until dealing with the office of Charles Ashley Mann. When we provided all documented PROOF that we did not in fact owe them the extra ONE THOUSAND dollars they are billing us for, they INSISTED that we pay the FRAUDULENT bill or they would send it to collection. They would not even think about making a payment arrangement with us. I have documented PROOF that we do NOT owe them ONE THOUSAND ADDITIONAL dollars. And yet, they are forcing us to pay. Needless to say, my husband will not be returning to this practice. ESPECIALLY when there are so many other excellent dentists in Cary that will NOT be over-billing us in a fraudulent manner. I have been going to Dr. Mann and Dr. Dolfi for the past ten years and I am always pleased with the service I receive! The dentists are very nice, and I don't ever feel as though they are rushing me out of there. I enjoy seeing my regular dental hygienist every 6 months and all of the people in the office are very kind. I have had at least two dozen cleanings, two cavities filled, and had just a bit of cosmetic dentistry done in this office. I recommend them to anyone in the RDU area. read more

Great local dentist office in the area. Dr. Dolfi has ben taking care of my teeth for the last few years and has re-energized me in my oral health. I mean I have actually grown to enjoy flossing. I'm currently going through the 6-Month Smiles program to align the visible teeth of adults. After a decade i am sad to say my happiness has slid way downhill.. Over the last year, my hygienist left that really made this the perfect place for me however i feel its become more of a racket and about the upsell rather that ME the individual. Silky example but i signed my husband and i up years ago for a whitening Program. You pay an up front fee and as long as u come religiously every 6 months they reup your bleach whitening paste. It comes in a five pack of syringe type things... made sense... this would last between visits and then u get a refill.. my husband came in recent and they only gave him 1 of the 5 syringes, i came in today expecting to get mine too and questioned why he only got one of the five because i wanted to get it right for him and me. Then it kinda turned into a bit of an argument over who had been doing it longer and who knew the rules... then i was told i could buy the rest for $49 and that i only paid a small fee in the first place when i joined... seriously?? In our years of coming we've spent thousands and this was the one thing since our hygienist left that was still a bright spot for us making the near 30 minute drive just to come here. Then i was told our hygienist who was ALWAYS on the up and up was probably just doing us a favor... this was not only frustrating but untrue seeing how the hygienist that saw me last time was new to me and gave me a full five pack then! Further i was told id only get 1 syringe annually and not at each visit which i and husband have gotten consistently every 6 months for the last few years! I just saw Dr Mann to get a root canal. He has not been my regular dentist. No one likes getting a root canal but the experience at Dr Mann's was as good as one could be expected. Dr. Mann is a great guy and my hygienist really had a great personality. I got to see an x ray after the job was done and everything was explained. The office is very comfortable. I called two days before my daughters appointment on wed July 31 to confirm our Friday August 2nd, 11am appointment . The staff confirmed on Wednesday that we were scheduled. I had this date on my calendar for a month. I did call two days before our scheduled appoint for my daughter . After rushing to get to the practice this morning , We were told by the friendly staff that our appointment was for next Friday, I told the staff that I did call to confirm and the office did confirm the appointment for August 2nd. So, When we arrived this morning the staff said our appointment was for next Friday and they were not able to fit us in today for a cleaning and check up . I told them that I did call to confirm and that the staff said we were scheduled for August 2, at 11am. I took off of work for this appointment and it was just a cleaning and check up for my 16 year old daughter, the staff wasn't flexible with fitting us in this morning, We rushed to get there and I did call to confirm on Wednesday prior to our friday morning appointment. Also this was an important appointment for my daughter, She had spent the last past months in the hospital , Her last visit with the dentist, Dr. Mann was back in October, So this was a big appointment for my daughter after going thru months of chemo. I took my daughter to Dr, Mann before her treatment back in October. Today's appointment was a follow up and cleaning appointment, So I actually don't think the practice really cares about the patient, The staff should have checked with Dr. Mann and the hygienist before making that call. I believe in, "If there is a well there is way," And the practice could have tried to fit us in this morning. I did confirm my appointment Instead they said we can come Monday august 5th at 7am. That doesn't work for a teenager during her last few weeks of summer break. To me this is not accommodating or caring. Also, I went for a cleaning last October , Which I do every three months and they just try to sell you things , They are over priced and you go in for a routine cleaning and then come out with a list of dental work that they suggest needs to be done. I do feel this practice is a racket. Over advertised and over priced. I was very disappointed with Charles Ashley Mann, DDS & Associates. I would not recommend this practice. They will recommend work that is over priced and not needed. I take very good care of my teeth, I just like to good cleaning every 3 months and check up. . I don't need to a bill of $3000 of work that I really don't need. after . I am new to this practice and just really didn't enjoy the dental experience. Way to much pressure, and very commercialized. I was happy to discover Dr. Mann's office several years ago. Dr. Mann, Dr. Dolfi, and all of the staff are super friendly. The doctors and hygienists have done an excellent job keeping my teeth in the best shape possible. They keep up with the latest technology so they can offer the most options. I was initially very happy with Dr. Mann and Dr. Dolphi until I needed a front tooth pulled. First of all, they gave me a temporary that kept coming loose and when they tried to remove the temporary cement for the adjoining tooth, which held the temporary in; they broke that tooth! Then; they took an impression to make my permanent tooth; they didn't wait until the extraction area healed first (when teeth are pulled; the hole that is left shrinks as it heals) and to this day; my permanent tooth is too small for the opening. Dr. Mann claims to be a COSMETIC dentist; I beg to differ! read more

I have to say that I was not overly happy with my visit. I wanted to use someone local. They ran late getting me in and once they did the hygienist did not finish cleaning my teeth and asked me to come back for a second visit in a few weeks. The way I look at this I paid him for a cleaning and I should not have to come back in three weeks and pay them for a secondary cleaning that should have been done on the first visit. It's really not my problem that they were running behind schedule and just because I was a new patient didn't plan on enough time to clean my teeth. read more

Friendly and capable, but quite expensive. I've been going to Dr. Mann's office for several years, and with each visit I'm torn between being satisfied with the service and shocked by how much they charge. Their charges seem to be consistently higher than other dentists I've checked with, but I'm a creature of habit--so far--and I've been hesitant to search out another dentist. Recently I had to wait almost an hour for my scheduled treatment, and that may help me to start looking elsewhere. read more
