It's just best to avoid but if you do go do these things: 1. Do not expect any level of customer service or any kind of pleasantries. 2. Watch your billing CLOSELY. Took my parents for a visit in January and they were quoted a price (which we paid). They returned last week and they quoted another price (for fewer services). We argued this bill even after they threatened not to see us if payment was not received and "management" is not helpful at all. 3. Be prepared to wait - at least 3-4 hours. No - seriously. You will wait a VERY long time for a VERY short visit. I'm telling you not to go - if you have to, you've been warned. I wish I could do 0 stars . I don't usually write bad reviews, but this is for public awareness. Aspen Dental canceled my appointment just one hour before I was supposed to be seen -- while I was in excruciating pain. I had to scramble to find an endodontist who could take me the same day. It was not only an incredibly painful experience, but also a financial inconvenience. The endodontist took one look at my X-ray and immediately identified the need for a root canal -- something any trained dentist should've caught. I had been going to Aspen for over a month, and even got a filling just a week prior. Yet somehow, no one there caught this serious issue? To make matters worse, they originally told me I just needed a cleaning -- completely neglecting the fact that I had a severely infected tooth. That level of oversight is unacceptable. Sadly, when you mention Aspen Dental at other offices, they already have a bad reputation -- and now I understand why. It feels like a money grab operation, not a place truly focused on patient care. Racheal and the dentist I saw were both kind, and I don't want to take away from their good nature. But unfortunately, a great personality doesn't make up for being surrounded by untrained staff -- or for poor clinical judgment. I hope this helps others make an informed choice. read more

Stop! Do not come to this location. I made a blind appointment here for this location and did not even think to read the reviews! I figured it was newer and I remember when it was built and I needed an new dentist. I scheduled a clean weeks ago. I specifically called and asked if I could get the new patient exam with a standard clean at the same time. My teeth are as pristine as they can be so I knew it would be quick and fine. Like the other reviewers mentioned, you are going to sit here for 2 hours getting X-rays and having the hygienist inspect your gums. After all that having been here over 2 hours, just for a clean, they tell me I'm not getting a clean today! And I am waiting for the dentist to inspect my teeth. I am missing work and meetings for this and you are telling me after it was confirmed, you are not giving me what I came for!? This is why this dental office is absolute trash. I wanted to go ballistic. I kept as calm and professional as I could. Did me no good. One of the primary factors I live by is preserving and using my time wisely. I just spent 3 hours of my life from the time I had to leave to get there on time to the time I left their office is time wasted I will never get back! I'm so upset. Not to mention I just walked out with no receipt or anything because I had to go! So now, it's end of the year and I have to find another place to go to get my teeth cleaned and they would not even accommodate. These people are unprofessional, immature, clowns. To put it nicely. First, I went online weeks ago to make an appointment. I had the assumption that both as part of a checkup just like EVERY OTHER DENTAL OFFICE IN AMERICA, they do a cleaning as part of the checkup. When I got my confirmation call for my appointment, I was told that if they "had time" they'd do the cleaning after my appointment. I found this unacceptable and asked them to reschedule me when we could do both at the same time. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that the hygienist was not in and that I'd need to reschedule. At no time before I arrived at the office did they let me know. I feel at this point that offering me a free cleaning would be appropriate given that I've now been rescheduled once and canceled once and have now lost another day of work and will have to lose another due to the need to make another appointment. I went to Aspen Dental in Tucker on January 15th for an estimate on implants. They were not able to complete estimate due to the 15th being MLK day and my insurance company was closed0. I was told they would call back the next day. I called them two days later and was told somone would call me back. Called back again and left a message. No call back. Called again and was told the manager was out to lunch, my estimate was very complicated (?????) and the manager will have to call me back. Two months later, no call back. If you can't get an estimate, I would hate to see what would happen if you had any problems with their work. I also had an appointment previous to this one. Took a year to get a set of dentures that only fit on top. Gave up after the fitting went on for an hour to fit the bottom plate. She tried but the teeth in the denture do not even line up with the gums and the denture will not fit. Had to go 9 months with a painful lower temp as they refused to replace it and it took a temp from Macon to line it after locals had denied the fitting. This is after having 11 extractions and being refused in May of 22 for six weeks to see a dentist or anyone else for that matter. Many on the staff do their best but I feel the practice is mismanaged as it is owned by a person who apparently owns more than a dozen locations. This is part two of my written complaint with Yelp about the poor service I had with Aspen Dental/Tucker GA. 4 days ago. I will continue to give a negative reviews until they can get my dentures straight where I can actually chew food with out the dentures rubbing my jaws and gums, chew food like I used to, smile with out looking like the dentures are about to fall out of my mouth, and talk without having trouble saying certain words with letters such as "s" "c" etc. in them. When I found out the former office manager misled me when she told me the money I took out for a loan to cover all of the dental work I was having, I was livid. She told me after my bottom gums healed after 6 months, I could return to have new dentures done for no additional charge. When I found out I had to pay for new permanent dentures, it didn't matter if the permanent dentures were 2 cents (I didn't ask) I was told the best they could do was a relined. When I was told I had to pay for a reline (I didn't ask but later found out it would cost $421) I went back and forth with the manager then and she said because of a miscommunication, they would give me a complimentary reline. So now I'm going back to the office for the 2nd time on Wednesday. When I got there at my designated time, 2:00 to be exact, the receptionist realized I had been in the office at 9:00 that same day. I told her I was there to pick up my dentures. About 15 minutes after that, she brings me the dentures on a tray as if it was a carry out order in front of all of the customers in the waiting area. I looked at her and told her I need to try them on to see if an adjustment needs to be made. She then took them and put them aside. About 3:10, a young man called on me to come to the treatment room. On our way to the waiting room he casually asked me how my day was going. Apparently he didn't know I was going to voice my complaint against the dental office. I told him you need to sit down to listen to my concerns. He told me I was talking to the right person because he was the district regional manager. After I explained my problems I was having, he talked as though they would resolve my problems. When the dental assistant made several attempts to get my dentures to fit, she did all she could do to get my dentures to fit until she told me I would have to wait to see the dentist. About 4:15 she returned to tell me she had not forgotten about me but the dentist had to do a root canal or something and that she was running behind. I told her I would wait as long as it takes to get my dentures right. At 5:30, the regional manager came in and told me they would have to reschedule me because the dentist had left. That's after 3 1/2 hours of waiting!! I had a similar experience with the same office approximately 7 months ago. I had plans for that Thursday and thought I could wait until Friday morning at 9 to see the dentist. But when I went home that night and tried to eat and talk, I knew I needed to see the dentist right away. So I went to the office first thing Thursday morning and I explained that I had a scheduled appointment for Friday, but due to the problem I was having, I needed to see the dentist that morning and I also wanted to talk to the office manager. Unfortunately the former office manager passed away, there was also a breach in the Aspen network which complicated my dental dilemma. So the dentist had to work me in since I didn't have a scheduled appointment that day. I told her that my top dentures didn't need to be relined because they fitted fine but she told me they were loose. She tried on several occasions to get me a proper fit until finally she told me that I would never get a proper fit until I got a new set of dentures!!! I looked her directly in her eyes and told her if I had to get a new set, I would not get it done at that office (based upon the pain, discomfort, my time, trips, expense, etc.). This weekend I have been on a special diet of only soft food or drinking through a straw. If I even try to chew some food it rubs against my jaws on both sides. Even when I take my bottom dentures out of my mouth to try to eat, I can't chew the food in bite size pieces. I made an attempt to make an appointment with another Aspen office but I had no other choice to file a complaint with my dental insurance company. I'm not saying that all Aspen Dental offices are this bad, but because of the high turnover with the staff, you may want to Yelp to see the number of stars they have. I only gave this one 1 star because it want allow me to go any lower. read more

I wished that I could give them less than a "1". Aspen Dental on Lavista Rd in Atlanta is The WORST DENTAL OFFICE ever. First off, the staff was totally rude and disrespectful. The only person who was nice was the young lady who took my Xrays. When I made my first appointment, I arrived early to make sure that I could get served. They made me wait a very long time. I waited so long that they had to cancel my cleaning. I was so angry because I took off work just for this. So, I rescheduled. Then, they called back and told me that their system was down when they rescheduled me; therefore, I would have to reschedule. So, I did. Then, 2 hours later, somebody else called back and said, "Are you still coming in today at 3:00?" I told them that somebody called me and made me reschedule. Then, the lady on the phone said, "Do you want the appointment or not," in a very rude tone. So, I took the appointment, but I should have declined it. To begin, I only went to Aspen Dental because my dentist was booked for a while. So, I thought Aspen Dental would be a great substitute for my bi-yearly cleaning. The dentist who was there at the time I went there around the end of Nov. 2023 was a black, female dentist who was covering for the head dentist at Aspen Dental who was out. After they took about 30 Xrays (I swear.) I came back for the cleaning in a few days. Then, she told me that I had 4 cavities, needed to replace two of my crowns with implants, and that I need to have a tooth extracted. I was totally floored because the last time I went to my dentist, I didn't have any cavities and all of my teeth were fine. I haven't had a cavity in about 15 years. I felt it in my bones that this diagnosis was wrong, so I had to force them to send over my Xrays to my dentist. However, they only sent over two pictures out of the 30 Xrays that I took. My long-time dentist did some Xrays and didn't charge me. He did not see a single cavity and all of my teeth were fine. I called Aspen Dental and told them what happened. They just hung up on me. DO NOT EVER GO TO ASPEN DENTAL ON LAVISTA RD IN ATLANTA! They are only out to get money out of you. They don't care about people. This is just my personal experience. read more

I took my son in for a teeth cleaning. It was like going to a time share sales presentation. Our regular dentist was busy. The cost would have been $208 with insurance. Their initial cost was $400+, but I was okay with that because my son needed it for a new job. Then we got another bill for about $230+. With insurance the total was just under $1,000. I was seen as first time Patient. Got xrays of teeth, and the dentist didn't even look at my mouth, just looked at the xrays. Had the hygienist check my gums, said I needed a deep cleaning and scheduled me for a separate day which I expected. Had my cleaning done she said that because of some areas of sensitivity she put a tiny micro antibiotic perle into my gums that took a half a second to place. They charged my insurance more than a thousand dollars, I was told by billing that I would have to pay $250 my portion. I paid that. They sent me a new bill saying that I owe another 139 dollars. When I questioned the manager he said that my Insurance didn't pay as much as they thought. I said I feel they should write ot off since it is an exorbitant amount of money. He said if I don't pay I will be sent to collections. I work in the medical field and we have written off bills many times to keep patients happy. It started by me walking into the office today and as soon as I walk in Chandler, the receptionist, looks right at me and does not even speak or acknowledge me then heads straight to the back. 3-5 minute later she finally comes back out to the front and provides me my paperwork. I attempt to pick up an ink pen (out of the unclean bin-- they have them right next to the 'clean bin' and admittedly I wasn't paying attention to the sign on the pen container). This lady (Chandler) had the NERVE!!!!!!! to snatch the pen container out of my hand just to tell me to get the one of the pens from the clean container. I was literally 2 seconds from cursing her out because I felt very disrespected and that type of behavior is uncalled for and unacceptable. While I am at the counter, she is asks me for insurance card, in addition to other questions, but we could not finish our conversation about what is needed because a lady kept coming up behind her asking her to fix a printer and find paperwork for someone else, literally while she is in the middle of assisting me. After the 3rd interruption I just sat down and after she came back to her seat, I didn't even say anything else to her because she was obviously overwhelmed and couldn't multitask so I just filled out my paperwork and handed it back in. I am then sitting in the waiting room and a UPS guy comes in with no mask on, although it is a sign on the door saying that masks were required and thus placing everyone inside health at risk (they did not even have the front the door to allow air to circulate out and the maskless guy also went into the bathroom, which was not disinfected afterwards). At this point I felt very uneasy because it made me feel as though they were not taking my health into consideration and I also noticed two other older individuals who lives they potentially put at risk too. My appointment was at 10:45 and they called me for an entire week to confirm it, so I am thinking that they are going to be on top of everything. I arrived at 10:41 and sat in the waiting room with no update until 11:37. I took off work today to take care of a doctor's appt and dentist appt, so I could not wait around all day. I went back to the desk and told Chandler that if it is going to take all day, I may have to come back (thinking that she would provide options or an update--HA!!). I definitely thought wrong and she told me well "you can leave but our systems are down so I will try to f/u with you later". I am not trying to die either because I'm just going to get my teeth cleaned." She immediately HUNG UP the phone in my face. When I called back, I got Raven again and advised her that here behavior was unacceptable and that I would be speaking to someone above her at this point. She advised me that she hung up on me because I was "talking aggressively" (interesting choice of words towards an African American male), but my tone was no louder than hers and my voice was elevated because I had to talk over her because she was so defensive about my complaint and did not want to allow me to get a word in edgewise. I advised Raven that I was going to write a bad review on everywhere website I could find about how crappy the service at this place was and her response was "I really hope that you do." So, it is apparent that no reprimanding will occur internally, but hopefully my experience will keep someone else from making the same mistake I did. I honestly chose this dental office because I thought that they would treat me with dignity and respect, but I got treated and talked to like trash on the side of the street and that is unacceptable. At this point I will never use an Aspen dental, but I am going to escalate this all the way up because after how I was treated, there needs to be some accountability and coaching. Especially since they are putting people's lives at risk because they don't want to tell the UPS guy to put on a mask. It is a very big difference as to how the white guy (UPS driver) was treated and how I was treated as an upset and concerned customer. read more

If I had to describe my first appointment at Aspen Dental as a new patient, I would say they are worst than taking your car to get an oil change. They literally tried to upsell me on everything! Mostly on things that my last dentist provided for free. For example putting fluoride on your teeth after a cleaning is an extra $40 !! I declined. They then give you a paper to sign saying that you approve them doing an oral cancer screening that is an additional $30 and it's highly recommended. I declined. The doctor took forever to come in just to tell me that he was previously in sales and could sell salt to a snail. I going to go on a limb and say I will more than likely never return. I took my mother there as she needed dental clearance for surgery. We waited an hour in the waiting room, then she spent two hours having x-rays and an exam. At this point, they advised they want $4700.00 to fix a crown, do a root canal and treat her gums and they would not clear her for surgery. I began to have my doubts about them at this point as we were ushered into a conference room where the lady proceeded to tell us all about their payment/loan plans. I took her to another dentist, who charged us $180.00 for an exam and x-rays. At this point, Mom was told she did have a broken crown and did not need a root canal or gum treatment and the broken crown would not be a hinderance for surgery. I am totally devastated about the way they handled my treatment. 1st of all I went there for some new dentures. They took x-rays and said that I needed two teeth removed, which I knew about. But instead of removing them they cleaned my teeth. The next appointment they took a mold of my mouth for the dentures. They couldn't get it right because they hadn't taken the 2 teeth out. They had me to come back into the office a 2nd time for a new mold, with the same teeth that needed to be extracted. Then they called me a week later and said they were sending a prescription for antibiotics and pain meds, because they were extracting the teeth the next day. They called me the next day and said to come in early for my 10am appt. I got there at 9:30am and sat until 11am. Then they took me back and I sat 30 more minutes before the doctor came in. Nothing was done until 11:50am. They finally pulled the teeth that needed to be pulled and told me I need to come back in a week for another mold! They are disorganized and don't care about a person's time. The first thing they should have done was the extractions! Then the deep cleaning! Then the mold for new dentures! I was searching for a new dentist and decided to try the new Aspen Dental on LaVista near Northlake mall in Tucker GA. Previously, I had my teeth cleaned every 6 months, brushed and flossed three times a day. I have never had a cavity and have always been told my teeth are in perfect health. I went here, sat through an hours worth of x-rays and probing. And was told "You have Early Periodontitis and that I would need a deep cleaning and several appointments to remove the bacteria." I waited another 30min for them to bring me up front to check out and go over my dental plan. Aspen Dental in Tucker operates like a used car sales team. They lie, misdiagnose and then try to up sell you with unnecessary dental procedures. Approach with caution and read up on the reviews from all over the US. You can see that this is a standard business practice for Aspen Dental from a corporate level and that they are trained to operate this way. An added note: I went to a private dentist shortly after and my teeth are again in perfect health. read more

The hygienist is amazing and the dentist is good. 3 stars for two reasons. 1. They don't seem to know your insurance well. After aligning to treatment and expected post insurance costs, I paid. Came in for the next cleaning and was told I have a balance. I was told they can't always predict what the insurance will do. Paid that and copay for that day and then later got a bill for another $70. I have never had this with another dentist. Reason 2. Scheduled a teeth whitening weeks in advance. A couple days before found out they needed to reschedule. When I called I found out it was because they didn't have enough bleaching material. I have severe dental anxiety and I avoided the dentist for over ten years. I was literally shaking when I arrived to the dentist but I was treated with care and understanding throughout the entire process. Dr. Joy Jen is amazing!! She was able to maintain a positive tone when she discussed my treatment plan. Of course my treatment plan was extensive, but she made me feel that it was manageable!
