Dr. Mark Barr is an absolute rockstar of endodontistry. We've all heard the jokes talking about…read moreroot canals as the least fun thing on earth. Put that out of your mind. A Barr root canal is absolutely painless, even to the expertly applied local anesthetic. Very analytical and thorough, when Dr. Barr cleans that root, it's spotless while his skillful assistant keeps the vacuum cleaner going so that even the olfactory aspect is nothing but pleasant. And not only that, the way the two work together is beyond cooperation, it's choreography. There's never a wait once you arrive. His staff is courteous and efficient. His equipment is the latest and greatest. Dr. Barr is a philanthropist, having done much pro bono work in the Caribbean. You will not find a better endodontist, nor will you ever meet a finer gentleman. Dr. Barr sets the bar, and it's mighty high. Nervous about that root canal you know you need? Hush. Call now, make that appointment. And when you're all done, pick up a couple of bags of genuine Jelly Bellys from the reception-area bowl to munch on during the drive home. You'll be thanking yourself forever. Experienced, gentle, expert, thorough. Pure Barr, truly.

Great care. Everyone here is so polite. Dr. Barr really knows his stuff. I had a root canal at a…read moredifferent endodontist and it was a very cold, clinia experience. Dr. Barr explains everything you want him to and is very easy to talk to. Prices are fair too compared with the other endodontist I went to. Highly recommend. A+

I came to this office back in 2020 needless to say I wasn't happy. However, Dr. Shapiro is amazing…read more I am writing this review now because recently I had to come back for yet another root canal. SMH. My new dentist referred me to someone he highly recommended, but the only thing I could think of was the experience I had with Dr. Shapiro back in 2020. Dr. Shapiro is a magician. So gentle and careful. Dr. Shapiro always addresses my concerns and even when I think I don't need a root canal he actually goes through small tests to verify if in fact I'm in the right place. Lol Dr. Shapiro explains what to expect in detail and makes sure I'm breathing and comfortable. No one wants this procedure right? But if I have to get a root canal I'm coming to see Dr. Shapiro. I am a young person and woman of color and both times I have come here Dr. Shapiro was professional and knowledgeable. I read the prior review and hate that you had that experience as that is nothing what I received. Needless to say Dr. Shapiro has been great through a difficult situation. He plans on retiring and I hate to hear it as he is soooo good at what he does and I would recommend his service and expertise to the most skeptical. Thank you for your service in a time when I was soo afraid of this procedure and thank you for care and patience during my procedure. I could go on but I won't. I would just say if you need a root canal go Dr. Shapiro before he is retired.

Please do not make an appointment with Dr.Shapiro if you are young, a woman, or a person of color…read more I am writing the review I wish I would have read before making an appointment. The staff are very kind, especially Laura, but do not let that fool you, Dr. Shapiro's office is the dentist office that gives dentistry a bad reputation. I was charged for a procedure I did not agree to, my pain was ignored, and Dr. Shapiro created an odd atmosphere as he commonly referenced me as "girl" and played old western music over the intercom, a small detail but odd. Probably a comfortable space for older white people but everyone else, choose any other option for your services, it will be money and time better spent. I have never written a review for any service ever, but I want to help anyone avoid what I experienced.

The dentist seemed rushed and didn't take the time to explain my treatment options clearly. Additionally, I was overcharged for a service that my insurance was supposed to cover, and getting a refund has been a hassle. I expected better professionalism and care, but unfortunately, I won't be returning. I hope they improve their customer service and communication in the future.

In January, I called repeatedly to schedule an appointment and left VMs (during working hours). When I finally got an assistant on the phone, she told me she had not got my VMs, but she told me they were shortstaffed (which would appear to make the case for an automated appointment system). I finally had an appointment on a Monday. Coming out of a work trip the week prior I got a URI traveling back on Friday, and called over the weekend to let them know of my URI and my inability to make my appointment. I woke up Monday to several missed calls about my "missing the appointment". I called immediately, indicated I left a VM and was out sick, but was rudely treated on the phone, told they didn't receive my VM, and then sent a bill for $100 for a missed appointment - while I was OOO for 3 days ill that week. If they had a proper online system, I could have rescheduled immediately on Saturday. And I have repeatedly had to follow up to VMs - which are untraceable. The doctor is inaccessible and apparently incapable of managing a professional office. Needless to say, I will fighting the $100, given I have iphone records of my phone calls, and will be switching dentists to one who makes it easy to coordinate with them.
