Went to Aspen Dental to get new upper dentures. They told me my insurance wouldn't cover it. I called me insurance company and they told me it was approved. I received a treatment explanation that listed a dental exam, x-rays, upper dentures, dental cleaning,gel to strengthen teeth(I have 7 lower teeth), replacing some lower teeth, models of teeth, and a duplication of upper dentures for a total of $4,541.00. I only asked for upper dentures that they charge $1.289.00 for. On top of that the office manager was supposed to return the 2 calls I placed, haven't heard from her. She needs to do her job or be replaced with someone who has more customer service experience. read more

23 hours ago Saw them back in December and just finished paying off additional money for a deep cleaning. They contacted me last week saying I had an appointment yesterday and I called and they said it was for a cleaning. I was billed for services before I ever received them. I am a self-pay patient and was told I needed a periodontal cleaning that was $2300. They offered me a discount price of $1848. Since I am self-pay I applied for Care Credit to cover my costs. The Care Credit card was charged before I ever had the appointment so I called Aspen Dental and cancelled my appointment and was told the card would be refunded. I am currently disputing the Care Credit charges that may take up to 60 days to resolve. It is so unethical to bill for services that have not been received. Plus, when I price shopped the periodontal cleaning, they are charging double what many dental offices charge. read more

Watch out for your billing at Aspen Dental! Here's what happened to me. They signed me up for a new credit account and billed it not only for work already done, but also for work planned in the future! They didn't bill my insurance until everything was all already charged directly to me! So I got a bill for over $6,000, including over $100 in interest, when the work done was less than $2,000, and my insurance paid all but $700. I went to their office and got them to refund the charges for work not done yet, but I was still out the unnecessary interest charge. Be sure you're only getting charged for work that has already been done. And remember that standard practice is to file with insurance first, then bill the patient for the remainder. BE WARNED. I've had to go in three times for various dental surgery over the past two months. The first time i had extractions and fillings done, they failed to give me a prescription mouthwash and toothpaste and gave me incorrect information on how long it would take for the swelling to go down. Two weeks after getting my fillings done, i was flossing and had one fall out. I was obviously furious that a filling had fallen out while doing a basic dental care and so soon. Today i went in to get this filling replaced. I showed them where the filling had come out and they tell me they didn't put a filling there. "Maybe it was part of your tooth" no, because whatever it was i was able to break with my fingers. "it must have been an old filling from previous surgery" i have never had fillings before these ones. "Maybe it was food" it was PLASTIC, or something like it. They gave me a new filling in that spot anyway, but not before the dentist yelled at me for recoiling in fear, why was i scared? Well the nurse promised we wouldn't be numbing me for the filling, and i saw the dentist pull out a syringe, this syringe was for the filling I THINK, but i got scared that i was being numbed when i was promised we weren't (getting an injection in your mouth is very painful) and the dentist began getting angry at me and said "don't make me get mad". I was scheduled for an appointment September 3rd at 10:30AM. I live an hour away and heard good things about this place, so I took the drive. The only questions asked while making the appointment were just identity and insurance questions. Nobody cared to ask beforehand if I was pregnant, but it is very noticeable. Once I got there, a lady took my X-rays and then sat me on the waiting table. Shes comes back in and proceeds to explain that she wasn't supposed to take any X-rays of me without a doctors note and that it is harmful to the baby. She said that she couldn't proceed with the visit per the dentist and apologized. Im not going to lie, this was an awful impression. I believe that if their staff can't be trusted with basic knowledge of the do's and dont's for EVERY patient, I am definitely not trusting them with tools in my mouth! He called back and left a voice mail that he was returning the call. No one called back. The administrative staff very unprofessional. My husband and I have both had horrible experiences with them. First of all we've had many scheduling issues. We'll have the appointment for one time then we get notified that our appointment would be at a different time. Very inconvenient. The last time my husband went he sat in the waiting area for over an hour and when he was finally addressed, all they did was ask if he had an appointment walked away and never came back. After he left they called and asked about him missing his appointment. (He was there and even signed in.) Now for my lovely experience. I visited them over a year and a half ago, and last Oct I get a bill. The told me it was because my insurance was decline. That was because they never updated my file with my correct insurance. I then gave them the updated insurance info (again) and they still haven't got it figured out. I called Aspen Dental (north kanas expressway springfield mo) to confirm they accepted my insurance. I've had so many visits where other offices said sure we accept it! Then upon arrival they said sorry we don't. The lady basically told me she couldn't tell me whether they did or not. I said "can you call and find out?" She said oh I don't call anybody you'll have to do that. I said "Well I'm not going to do your job. You either want my business or you don't." then I found someone who was willing to go the extra mile to actually verify my insurance. My insurance does have Aspen listed as a preferred provider. To bad. I needed a bridge and my insurance covered it at 100% with no deductable or copay. Guess it wasn't enough business for them to warrant verifying coverage. I went to Aspen Dental located on Glenstone. It was a nightmare. I seen Dr. Adepoju. I was there to get Prepped for my bridge. Dr. Adepoju preceded to give me several numbing shots and in a few minutes started filing down my teeth to prepare them for my bridge. However, there was a problem. I had a crown put on my back tooth and he started filing it down and then asked me if I had a crown on it. He's the dentist he should know. The assistant that worked on me did a horrible job. She put the material over my teeth to prepare them for the bridge. The dentist came in to look at her work and didn't have a problem with it. I thought she must of done a good job or he would have said something. On the way home one of the caps fell off. I had a mirror on my sun visor and looked at my mouth. I was in shock. When I got home I took a picture of it which I'm posting. I was so upset I went in the next day. I told them I would not pay a dime for the mess they made, and to set things straight with care credit which they had already had set up. I told them they needed to cancel it because I wouldn't be back for the bridge. It was a terrible experience that I had to live with for weeks. I will never visit an Aspen dental again. read more

I went to Aspen back in August 2019 and had a cleaning, xrays, etc. In November I had a tooth break. I went in freaking out and they told me it would need to be fixed and crowned. Then additionally added that I needed a root canal on the one in front of it. I was shocked as I had xrays only three months prior and there was no mention of work needing to be done on these two teeth. Scared, I went ahead with it. I had trouble with the crowns immediately. Ill-fitting and when I went back they told me it was fine. I told them I had been having pain and sensitivity, they still said I was fine. Flash forward to now and I am in immense pain. I go to an Endodontic Specialist and am told the tooth that had the root canal was done so poorly there is no way for them to retreat the root canal and the only option would be extraction! I am 25 years old and I speak in front of health care professionals for my job, the anxiety it gave me to know I would now have a gap from poor work... I can't explain it. The Endodontic specialist also said the tooth that had broken needed a root canal asap. Here I am, emotionally worn down from dealing with Aspen, financially strained from having to pay for all the dental work, and physically in the worst pain I have ever felt. I am not sure how I will afford the root canal (with addition of a new crown that insurance won't cover since I just got one eight months ago that does not fit), and the extraction (looking at implants to fill the hole). I am so unbelievably disappointed in the Aspen office. The disregard for another human being and what they did to them is unreal. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. read more

Went to my first visit as Aspen Dental for a basic cleaning that is covered by insurance company. I have kept up with all Dental work and have had my teeth cleaned twice a year my whole life. I was told by the hygienist that my only option was to have a deep cleaning that cost $937, my out of pocket would be $587. And the dentist had just looked at my teeth and said everything looked great. The hygienist refused to give me a basic cleaning. Total up-sale fraud! read more

I went in because one end of a bridge had come loose. The dentist came in, and after pulling on that end, told me it was not loose. I told him that this was not my imagination, that, of course, it was loose. He doubled down and left the room, after which the dental hygienist told me I needed a deep cleaning for $2300, and four subsequent visits in the following 12 months at $250 each, for a total of $3300. I was then led to the front office where the financial employee tried to get me to sign up for the Care Credit card, a credit card issued by Synchrony Bank(with whom I've done business for many years). I told her that I would need to think about it and I left. A few days later, I received an email stating that my Care Credit card had been approved, and there was a charge for $1400 from Aspen Dental, for work to which I hadn't agreed, and a card for which I hadn't applied. I called Synchrony, and after an investigation, they determined that I definitely had not applied for the card. Within a few days, I was able to get an appointment with another dentist who found that the bridge was, indeed, loose, and he performed the proper work the following week. Everyone was friendly and professional. Didn't have to wait for services. X-ray equipment was clean and images taken by a friendly lady (Christina?). Dr. A has a great personality and explained things well. The hygienist (Cassie) was the same. I like how they did X-rays and check up then the finance lady (who was also awesome) explained what insurance would and would not cover. I was told that I have gingivitis and that I would need a special cleaning that would include scaling as well as medicated toothpaste. I could not afford this and was told that I could submit a pre-authorization to my insurance. I did so well in advance of the appointment and received a letter from my insurance (Liberty) saying that it was fully approved. When I arrived at the appointment, I was told that I had to pay nearly $100. I was prepared to pay $0 as that is what I was told in writing. So I paid that money anyways after a brief discussion. The appointment went well. I left afterwards thinking well my insurance will have to reimburse me for that later. The following-up cleaning was scheduled a few weeks after. At the follow up (which is a regular cleaning always paid by insurance without preauthorization) , I was informed that I must pay over $60 for the cleaning and that I still owed $30 past due on the previous visit. I of course refused service this time upon recognizing the incompetence. I live 65 miles away in Mountain Grove! I drove for this appointment! That is 2 hours for nothing! They did phone and offer some form of voucher for gas while I was writing this review which brought it to a two star review. I'd have given a zero star if available. "Free" new patient exam and images; however, they billed my insurance, and after insurance delayed payment, they billed me. Staff noted problems with their system, and were unable to resolve the problem. Office manager never available (always in a consultation) but would refer to the regional manager who should be able to enter "the coupon" into their system that would result in a zero balance due. Unable to tell me when that would happen. "We will get back with you." Still waiting. Additional dental work needed and after 3 months they are still trying to get an estimate for costs. Staff continual say they'll have an answer in 10-15 minutes and will call back; however, I'm the one calling them back after another past week. Lies and Incompetence!! Customer Beware! I Came here in January, received a quote and was told our balance of almost 2K (after insurance, which was checked mutliple times), would have to be paid before treatment. Not a problem.  We were then told we were eligible for a loan, and asked what the payments/interest would be, out of curiosity, but somehow the young lady messed up and had to restart the application, just a soft hit to our credit, we were informed. It took so long that in the end we said we'd just pay and be done with it. Carried on with treatment as planned. Found out shortly afterwards that those 'soft hits' to our credit cost us 69 points. Managers response to this was 'well thats what we were told, its just a soft hit but i'll pass on the information... Should have walked out and thanked them for nothing at this point. Work was done with a number of follow up appointments due to ill fitting, I was in so much pain but continued to rebook, was then given an appointment for 6 weeks at which another problem was to be fixed. We recieved a bill for $1400, my husband and i both called them and the insurance company, the latter of which assured us the amount would be paid once they received all the information they had requested from aspen dental, but had continuously failed to receive. By this time I was in so much pain i couldnt eat, sometimes even talk properly, but thought it best to persevere rather than be a nuisance, I arrived early for my 8am appointment, sheltering from a thunderstorm, (my husband dropped me off and had to head to work for an emergency call) I called to announce my arrival at the door.  15 minutes later i got a call back, i am partially deaf so  I had my phone on speaker, so obviously everyone within hearing distance can hear the conversation, when a receptionist kindly informed me that I had no appointment, I then took the card with my appointment out of my purse and informed her that i had the card, with that date and time on in my hand, she then told me  that my appointment had been cancelled, Due to my owing them another $1400 dollars. This amount on top of the 2k we had already paid and insurance payout. I can't even put into words the humiliation i felt, to think they sat there  watching me through the windows, knowing they had absolutely no intention of treating me that morning. I walked off, crying down the phone as i told them how despicable i thought they were to have me come to the office in such awful weather, for an appointment they had no intentions of keeping, i then continued to walk the almost 3 miles to my home in the rain, sobbing so much i could barely speak when i called my husband to inform him of what they did, my mouth cut to pieces and covered in sores but refused treatment to fix it. My husband called them and insisted that i get treated and that he would yet again call the insurance and get this sorted (this is now the 4th or 5th time my husband has had to to the managers job).  He called me back and told me to contact them for another appointment, i was too upset that day so called the next, I was told they had an available appointment for a weeks time, i said fine as thats all they had... They later informed my husband that that was the day and time i asked for (such liars). A week later i went for my appointment, finally had some things fixed but not all, while my husband once again sat down with the manager, called the insurance and was assured by the manager that all the info would now be passed to insurance company and we would be done... I thought that was the case until today, I have just received a bill from a collection agency for the $1400. I am so angry, if i had known the bill was going to be that high, and the treatment i would recieve would be so poor, i would NEVER had gone with aspen dental, and i can assure you, i will never recommend anyone to go there. The treatment i received by the manager and office staff at the 3842 S Glenstone Avenue, Springfield has been the worst I have ever come across in my entire life.  My husband spoke to the owner and was assured that i should never have been treated that way and things would definitely be taken care of, I havent been back since even though i will need a replacement for my bottom denture, i will never trust this company again. read more

Best experience I have ever had with a dentist office! I had avoided getting work done for years. Got a few abscesses every year, and would just suffer because of what I went through with dentist visits in the past. I'm glad I finally decided to do something, and more importantly decided to go to Aspen! From the start, nobody treated me like a criminal because I hadn't been to the dentist in years. (you know what I'm talking about, the lecture about how you should see the dentist and this wouldn't happen) Dr. Adepoju made it clear immediately that he knew the pain I was in from his own experience, and that he was there to help, and would be able to relieve my pain very soon. I have never had a dentist be so kind, and comforting! When he did extract two of my teeth, he was quick, and calm, which made me calm. Also, it wasn't just him, the dental assistant, Kristine had the same attitude. Continually trying to make sure I was comfortable from the start. No lectures, and infact shared her horror story from past dentist's. This is what a person should expect when they go to get help. I will never go to another dentist office again, and had my past experiences been half as good as this one, I would have never let my teeth get that bad in the first place. read more

Dr. "A" does outstanding work. I had a major procedure done yesterday and with little to no pain or discomfort. The recovery time so far has been great too. Dr. A is very well trained...including training in more difficult cases while abroad. His outstanding training was very evident in my case. He is also a very compassionate and sensitive doctor. I was impressed by their staff - the dentist, not so much. She was rather brusque and being foreign, a little hard to understand. She had her assistant replace a crown and, while I really like her, she did a terrible job. They are overpriced and you only see the dentist for evaluation on your first visit. I was there twice. Not impressed except that have all the new "toys" [dental equipment] and seemed clean. Now, I need to find a DENTIST who actually works on the patient during a PROCEDURE and get this tooth fixed. I went to Aspen after having gone to my regular dental office which my dentist has retired and it's been put in the hands of a new dentist so I didn't feel loyalty particularly and they were saying I needed two crowns replaced and a cavity filled and it would be $3000 so I thought I need a second opinion has been agreed that I needed to have my two crowns replaced a cavity filled but not the cavity my dentist office was going to fill they felt that was a flaw in the tooth and not a cavity and have a cavity drilled out and refilled because I had gritted my teeth so much that it had collapsed all for less than $2000. I don't like going to the dentist I take good care of my teeth other than the fact I'm a little hard on the back ones today I went and had my first appointment to get the crowns taken off get impressions done and fill the two cavities Dr. Branco explain everything as she was going along was so gentle with my injections are you even allowed her to drill the new cabinet without any Novocain and it didn't hurt. The dental assistant Mandy is super nice and I really like her plus finance manager Britten I had such a good time talking to her she got me a great deal and I am making payments monthly for 18 months and no interest. I just can't believe what a good experience this was because when I was presented with that is it was such a horror story for me I mean I've had a crown put on I have three of them I've never had a root canal I haven't had a cavity in years and to hear all this was just I wanted to cry and I left there feeling absolutely fine. I have told everyone I see how great my experience has been with Aspen. I need to think I've made myself so nervous and so worried and to go in at 10 o'clock and be completely done with the bad part by 11 I just seem to have problems making a good impression ha ha. So I didn't get to get out of there until noon but I thought based on what they were telling me I could be in there for three or four hours and feel so bad I just plan to do nothing but come home and cry. Had a good experience for the most part. Staff treated me well and did a good job on cleaning my teeth. The dentist I met was very friendly I had questions about getting dentures and he told me after looking at my ex rays that partials would be a cheaper and better option. I had my teeth cleaned and also deep cleaned due to having gingivitis. Hailey or Hannah did a amazing job cleaning my teeth although she was a bit shocked it took 4 shots of a numbing agent to get me numb. They made cast impressions of my teeth for the partials and called to let me know when they would be in they also got me lined up with a company called Genesis that approved me for three thousand dollars to cover the cost of the partials. They even told me the amount I had to pay for them monthly 137 dollars. Which I felt was very fair compared to eight thousand for partials at Fox Grape Dentistry. Here is where it goes down hill. I called the company Genesis to inquire when my first payment was due on the partials. I got a woman on the phone whom I could barely understand due to her very thick foreign accent. She said she had no record of who I was didn't even have my address. So after giving her my information several times because I couldn't understand her and she couldn't understand me she told me the first payment would be due on May the 9th of one hundred and fifty dollars. Not the 137 I was quoted. I still thought that was ok and didn't question it. So Aspen calls to tell me the partials are in I couldn't make it that day so went on the appointment they had scheduled for me April 30. I walk in and after checking in I was expecting to get my partials. The receptionist then informs me there is a payment due today of one hundred and thirty seven dollars. Why wasn't I told about this before? My mother hearing this tells the receptionist she has already called Genesis and they quoted a payment of 150 dollars. The receptionist informs my mother the 137 is the remainder after Genesis paid the three thousand. Feeling very frustrated the receptionist looks up my information. She has the wrong address I give her the right information and she then tells me I can get the teeth today and I have 60 days to pay the 137 our it gets sent to collections.(kind of rude making that comment I thought) any way my mother I tell her we will be back to pay the 137. So I have to come back May the 9th pay the 137 and then I get my partial. I think there customer service needs to be improved a lot other than this this is why there only getting three stars. read more
