To say I am completely disgusted by this dentist is a huge understatement. I came here 2 months ago to get a consultation for my teeth. During that, I received x-rays. When I spoke to the dentist, she informed me that I would need a root canal on every single tooth to fix my teeth, which would be over $35,000 after insurance. Or get them pulled and get dentures. Which would be $10,000. I just went to a different dentist today to get a second opinion and also another set of x-rays, and it's turns out I don't need one single root canal. All I need is 7 cavities filled. I would definitely think twice before coming here because who knows who else they are doing things like this to. read more

Worst experience ever Front desk girl was on the phone and didn't acknowledge my presence. 2 other girls a few feet away looked at me and said nothing. 4th chick comes out looks at me and turns to the other two and starts talking. No one has said anything to me standing there. Finally 4th chick asks me if I had an appointment. I say yes and give her my name. She comes back and says that my appointment was for an hour earlier than what I booked weeks in advance. I show her the confirmation email. She glanced at it and said "yeah well we have been having problems with our appointment system....and then she walked off. I was dismissed. I walked out disgusted. Im a firm believer in if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything but my goodness I have never experienced such disrespect. In the beginning everything seemed great, my son had insurance through his employer and I was told it would cover 100 percent of the visit. They looked at his teeth and took x-rays and told him it would be over 2000 to fix his front tooth. At the conclusion of his first visit he left $150 towards future visits. We called a week later explaining that he was leaving the area and had dental insurance to cover costs when he found another dentist and would like the deposit returned. They said no problem that it would be mailed from Kentucky, that was March 3rd. Ive called several times because the check never came. Was told wait 30 days, that came and went ..still no check . Now they took $60 of it toward his first visit that was supposed to be covered 100 percent and still no check! Dont leave a deposit with them !! And expect attitude if you want a straight answer about "when the check was mailed" you will get excuse after excuse!! read more

They cancelled my appointment today because I did not call their office to confirm the appointment I already had scheduled. They called me yesterday when I was in meetings at work and when I went back to look at their phone number, it looked like a solicitor and I do not answer those calls. Especially at work! The texts they send should state they have ridiculous protocol and will cancel your appt if you do not call them to tell them you have an appointment. When I came in today, they said they had already filled my spot. So disappointing. Looking at their reviews, this has happened before and not customer friendly. I regret not checking their reviews before I made the appointment. I would call corporate but just going to find a more competent dentist instead. Wasted too much time on them already. read more

Although their staff is top notch I had multiple difficulties with their front office billing efforts. My first visit involved an out of state health care plan provider in which for circumstances they were unable to process multiple times. My carrier was out of state privider and their billing dept fell short of expectations 3 times. Later, I had to submit the billing statement in order to get reimbursed. Process worked for me. From that point forward the front office has held a personal grudge against me. In closing, their front desk etiquette needs some tuning. Being an out of state resident/customer at the time is no reason to lower their processing effort. Aspen is a nationwide operation, I expected a more professional attempt to complete their billing process. I have been with Aspen within 3 states over 10 + years. This front office experience has lowered the expected standards that I previously experienced. However the Dental work was still top notch. Dr. Creech and the rest of the staff is still highly recommended. Covid circumstances and billing contacts may have been a potential reason billing conflicts. However it was easily managed with minimal effort by myself. No record of an Aspen submittal was ever noted by my health provider. You can draw your own conclusions. read more

I broke a crown. Called to make an appointment as a new patient. When I arrived, I was told I had to reschedule, because they claim they tried to call several times to reconfirm my appointment. I said if you give me an appointment time and date, I consider that a confirmation. I then looked at my phone; they did not call. I showed the receptionist the text I received from Aspen the morning of the appointment as a reminder. She simply said we have a lot of 'no-show' patients. It was their fault. They treated me like it was my fault. No apologies; the receptionist turned away, no eye contact. I called Effingham Dental in Springfield. Got an appointment time and date. Got out in 15 minutes. They do not call to confirm your appts and when you show up is when you find out you do not have an appt. Staff is very rude at the front desk. After you call the cooperate office they suddenly can see you. Shame I had to give a one star when they do not even deserve a star. read more

I literally just walked out of an appointment with Doctor Brown because he was so offended I don't do x-rays before examination or even a greeting. He came into the room offended and made it clear of everything he could not do without those x-rays. Said basically he can look at my teeth and that was it. I was so taken back I asked what they did before these mandatory x-rays and he said they would break their patients jaws to get a good look. I knew exactly what needed to be done, I've had it done before (and without an x-ray) but he didn't even get that far to know that. Threw up his arrogant fists before even asking why I was there. The office personal at this location are extremely unprofessional, starting with their unprofessional dress attire which includes grungy leggings, shabby shirts and beach sandals. It's clear they are incompetent. My first experience was with someone by the name of Lori. She stated my insurance company was horrible and they did not cover much of anything. She recommended a different company, in which I purchased. I thought she was really trying to help me. She attempted to bill me for a claim she stated my insurance company denied and for a recommended deep cleaning. I contacted my insurance company about the denied claim. My insurance advised they never received the "denied "claim. Lori resubmitted submitted the claim and the claim was paid in full. After speaking with my insurance company and conducting further research, I realized Lori did not provide adequate information. She boasted about how many years she had been doing insurance whenever my insurance company challenged her information. Just to be on the safe side I requested a pre-treatment estimate from my insurance company. My next encounter is with someone by the name of Mackenzie. The most unprofessional and rudest person I have ever encountered. I mean that literally. I was trying to assure my pre-treatment estimate was received by Aspen before my appointment. My insurance company was covering the whole procedure. Mackenzie, stated my out of pocket fee is $157. No matter how much I tried to explain to she was rude, nasty, condescending, and belligerent. She stated, stated I am not adding anymore discounts to your account. I never asked her to. I am a teacher. I have insurance, not a " discount" As a matter of fact, I have a secondary dental insurance that I will add once my I have exhausted all of my primary dental benefits. Mackenzie called off a company I did not have as my insurance company. She didn't ask me to hold on. I just heard music. She came back and said my out pocket is $197. I asked to speak to a manager. She laughed and said, "I am the manger" I am still trying to explain to her about my pre-treatment estimate. I emailed her and she advised me she was on hold with my insurance company. Then myself, her, and my insurance company did a conference call. Mackenzie stated, she did not receive my email....lol My insurance faxed to her and explained it to her about five times. It was everything that I had tried to explain to her prior. Not once did she apologize to me. I called Patient Satisfaction about this several times. They have yet to respond. I will never do business with this company ever again. I will tell all my friends, family and colleagues about my experience. Patronizing this company has been a total complete nightmare.
