In January of this year, I went in with a toothache. After examination, I was told I had several cavities. I consented to having the decayed teeth removed and replaced. I was told it would take all $1300 of my insurance, plus $2800 to complete the work. I was offered financing for the extra, then I would need to pay another $1900 out of pocket for the dentures. Later in January I became ill and could not keep my appointments. I had serious surgery in May, and was hospitalized for 10 days followed by 21 day in rehab. After being released by my surgeon, I contacted Aspen for a appointment. I was told I needed a consultation I went in and was told I needed to pay an additional 1900 before zi could be fitted for the bridges. I am out of over $3000 and still no bridges. I am 83 years old and on a fixed income It's extremely hard to eat, and smiling is out of the question. What are my recourses? Stop up charging ripping people off. Went in for a simple cleaning, tried to charge me $150. They told me I needed a special cleaning because of periodontal problems. I went to a specialist a couple months ago for a root canal and they told me I had great gums, teeth no periodontal disease. It's nothing but a rip off. My insurance pays for normal cleanings. Do not use Aspen Dental on Airport Blvd in Mobile. Trying them was an absolute nightmare. My filling was rough and discolored. Was told I should do a deep cleaning, which I didn't understand because I get regular cleanings once a year. nontheless I agreed. Hygienist cleaned one side ( in about 10 minutes with just the normal pick ) I was told to come back in 5 weeks to do the other side. I canceled that appointment. upon checking my credit card I see I had been charged $1200. I called many times only to hear " Let us find out who closed on this procedure " Nothing was ever done. Now I am having to file with Small Claims court to get my money back!!!! read more

After had a dentist looked at my x-rays decided to get a second opinion at this location. Once I get there for the appointment, they immediately take all x rays and send someone to look at your gums. The dentist comes look at it and still can't find the problem and gives me a referral to go someone else. He says, let's have it cleaned and it might help. Office manager looks at your insurance, tells me what is my deductible, I agree and made the cleaning appointments. After all done, here comes a bill that it was not asked and agreed to. It cost me $500 to have my teeth clean? They are the professionals and knows what is the deductible or not. If I knew it was costing this amount, definitely I would have declined the service. What this people think? Fooling customers to pay some money and asking for the full amount later? Don't use them. Scams artists. No wonder the reviews are this bad. i went there for a second opinion to see about getting my wisdom teeth removed and they were no help they told me the same thing as the last dentist and gave me a referral to the oral surgeon i told them not to send me to and on top of that i have amazing dental insurance that covers everything but yet i still got a bill in the mail for $131 that i was not told about and they even told me i didn't have a copay and i wouldn't have to pay anything extra because my insurance covered it read more

Both locations in Mobile are terrible. I used to go to the one on Airport until they forgot to schedule me in their computers for the third time--they would give me an appointment card, I'd get an email to confirm, but when I got there they would say I wasn't on the schedule. One time they scheduled me for work that would require a certain specialist, but scheduled me on a day that they knew the specialist doesn't work. At the location on Schillinger, things seemed fine. At my last appointment they gave me a card for a date and time--an early one at 8:00am as soon as they open. I received an email to confirm the same date and time. When I went to my appointment at the instructed date and time, I sat for 30 minutes waiting. When I asked how much longer it would be, I was told that my appointment was for a different time. I showed the email on my phone that clearly showed my appointment was in fact scheduled for 8:00am, but the receptionist INSISTED that I was wrong and that "it was always scheduled for 9:00am". I got my dental records and made an appointment with another dentist in a different office. I have a 4 month old child at home that I am breastfeeding, I do not have time to spare on other people's mistakes. Whether the receptionist was even responsible for the mixup, I cannot say, BUT she was definitely responsible for her customer service skills and instead of being understanding and even apologetic, she was curt and matter of fact. I left the Airport location due to the ineptitude of the administrative staff in the front office. I left the Schillinger location due to the flagrant incompetence and utter lack of personal skills of the receptionist. In addition to the scheduling issues, they set me up with Genesis Credit at the Airport location which is a fine enough creditor for medical costs, but they are the only dental offices in town that accept Genesis Credit. If I had known that, I would have made other arrangements for any credit accounts. Save yourself time, money, and sanity, and go to ANY OTHER dentist in town. To the dentists at Aspen that may be reading this: go to ANY OTHER practice in town or start your own. It's the office staff that make it unbearable. My husband had a chipped tooth the day after the Christmas this was the only office available to take him we went they fit us in a seem really nice until we got home and my husband keep complaining of pain . Due to it being the weekend Aspen was closed so I told him we could wait until Monday . Monday at around 12 am my husband woke to a swollen face and indeed pain . We went to the ER and he was told he had an infection . We went to the appointment as scheduled Monday and they told him it wasn't the tooth that the doctor fixed the other tooth perfect fine gold tooth that my husband has had for 10+ years is what caused the infection . My 94 (very soon to be 95) year old father was being treated to new dentures by his daughter who lives in Texas. He was so excited to have properly fitting and comfortable dentures, especially for his upcoming birthday. This "dentist" office gave my father the runaround for several weeks if not months. My stepmother had my father at the office THREE times before 7:30am for his scheduled appointments only to be told his appointment had been canceled and they'd call to reschedule. Now my father will not have his dentures by his birthday, and Aspen's response? A free gas card...which has NOT been received. This was the worst experience of my life. Not only did I receive a bill for over $1000 that I am currently paying. I was in the process of getting my teeth pulled. The nurse ran in the room. Yelling. Stop! Telling them that something happened to my partials. They would have to let the numbness wear off & start again in a couple of hours. After sticking me 6 times in the mouth with a needle. I was p***** I got up and walked to the front. After this, no one said anything to me. No one would look at me. No explanation just $1000 bill in the mail that I have to pay. I went 5 times also for a partial fitting, last the partial did not fit right, had a gap, no clasp on the partial to hold it on my exciting 2 eye teeth, dentist asked me, if I requested it like that...I left with it like that because my other partial had broke 3 times while I waited for my new one, I do not or will not walk around with missing teeth. This is the most unprofessional group I have been to and we have worked and traveled the world.
