I booked an appointment for 3/19/25 for 10:00AM for a cleaning. I was sent a link to complete upon my arrival. I completed the link and when I arrived the time was 9:50am and I asked the front desk personnel how much would my cleaning be and informed her I didn't have insurance. She went to ask the office manager Kim, and returned and told me it would be $79. I was called to the back by a hygienist and she told me she had to take x rays and then proceeded to probe my gums and she showed me my x rays and we talked about some tarter build up and she informed me that I would need a deep cleaning. Which I wasn't shocked because I've had deep cleanings in the past. She then called Dr. White in and he looked over my x rays and did a probe of his own and agreed with a deep cleaning. Side bar: The hygienist was very thorough and detailed. No complaints with her at all. My problem arose after she told me I could have a seat in the front and wait on the office manager to book my follow up appointment. I asked her if I wasn't getting a cleaning today and she responded and told me no that I would require more time. I was confused but wanted to speak with the front office to see what my options were being that I scheduled and paid for a cleaning. I go back to the front and wait for about 25minutes and was called to the back. The office manager informed me that I wasn't getting a cleaning today and that I only paid for a comprehensive exam which initially is $360 but they were running a $79 special. I then asked her why wasn't I informed of this prior to paying for my "cleaning" and was told it must was a communication mishap. Then I went on to ask her how much will my deep cleaning be and she told me $1380. I am flabbergasted because I've never paid no more than $600 for a deep cleaning. At this point she became very condescending with her remarks. She didn't acknowledge the fact that I wasn't informed I was paying for a comprehensive exam and not a cleaning. I strongly feel that I should have been told upfront that I wasn't paying for a cleaning but for an exam. I've never scheduled a cleaning and left an office without some sort of cleaning. Even if they didn't have time for a deep cleaning, I honestly felt as though I should have been offered a basic cleaning or at least some floss or a toothbrush I feel scammed honestly. I'm willing to bet that I'm not the only person this has happened to. A better upfront clear communication strategy needs to be implemented with this establishment. I ended up being in the office for a total of 2 hours and left with a photo copy of my X-rays and no itemized receipt. read more

Dr White is just awesome! My dentist who I had seen for 20 years retired and I was so scared to go to dentist. Dr white was so compassionate and patient. He was reassuring. My family has enjoyed going to Smile Center for 4 years. Dr. White is kind and professional. His assistants do a thorough job and will explain and listen to any concerns, then have Dr. White talk with you in more detail when needed. I have had my teeth cleaned twice a year and a couple cavities filled with no problems. My children actually look forward to going to the dentist! I went in for my routine cleaning. As usual, the staff was courteous and professional.

Went a while back because I was looking for a dentist that will use gas (major anxiety and nerves with dental work). I knew I needed a few cavities filled and before I knew it, I was having major work done - past the point of what I realized. Despite all of this "work" the 2 teeth I went to get addressed were still giving me problems. Did have 1 with a root canal done and the crowne lasted only a few weeks before chipping and a few months after that came off entirely. Probably my absolute worst experience ever! read more

I had a similar experience as K.s. the first person to review. I went there because I got a flyer in the mail for a $29 xrays, cleaning and teeth whitening. I was assessed and told I qualified for the deal but had to return in a week for the cleaning and bleaching. The day before my return, I was called and told that there was a mistake on my initial assessment and now the cleaning alone would cost at least $490. In my opinion is a scam. Please don't fall for it and waste your time. read more

My first time visiting the Smile Center and it was extremely pleasant. From the time I walked in they were kind. I came for a cleaning and it was thorough but gentle. My past dentist and dental assistants were extremely rough so I can appreciate the care they showed and the time the took to make sure everything was cleaned. Dr. White was nice and made sure that i was comfortable and that i didnt leave with any questions or concerns. GREAT experience. 10/10 recommend. read more

They fast talk you into dental work I was told my top and bottom will fall out I need to get teeth pulled and replaced with partials dr brown fast talk as if he is telling the truth I didn't trust them so got a second opinion and I only need 2 back teeth pulled and one in the front this is not a good place to go he will have you toothless early for no reason I'm only 30 read more

I Went to this dentist for a cleaning on a whim. After my initial exam, I was told I needed 4 root canals and had 6 cavities! this was VERY surprising to me as I brush 3-4 times daily and floss daily. The total estimate I was given was around $4500.00 out of pocket after my insurance pays their part. When I was paying my co-pay for the visit, the receptionist urgently tried to book me for an appointment to begin the overhaul I supposedly needed. I expressed to her that I was not ready to book b/c I needed to get my finances in order to proceed. She basically fast-talked me into applying for Care Credit. I really didn't want to put any procedures on a payment plan, but she insured me that applying for the line of credit would not effect my credit score (lie! anytime you apply for a line of credit it deduct one point off your score) and i was subsequently denied. I had no dental work done at the time of my first visit. I felt very hustled by the staff, first because I didn't feel that my teeth were in such bad condition, and secondly because of the receptionist INSISTING that I apply for the line of credit. After almost a year of saving for this supposed overhaul I needed, I returned for a second evaluation and the desire to begin the procedures. After a second set of x-rays, it was determined that I somehow only had 2 root canals and 5 cavities. Huh? How could 2 root canals and a cavity disappear when I've had no dental work done thus far? That's very strange. Even more reason why I felt that these people were just trying to get my money, instead of addressing my dental care. The dentist began work on one of the cavities I needed filled, and half way into it he discovered that I needed yet another root canal that supposedly didn't show up on the X-ray. He mumbled something to the dental assistant and briskly walked away to work on another patient. I sat there not knowing what was going on for about 15 minutes, then Dr. White returned to inform me that I needed a 3 root canal and he was going to give me a medicated temporary filling for now. He insisted that it would only last for 3-4 weeks maximum. This time when I left the office I vowed to myself that I would NEVER COME BACK. The staff is very unfriendly. The amount of work that I needed done kept changing by the visit, and the overall experience made me very uncomfortable and led me to believe that I was being hustled for my money and they didn't know what they were doing in my mouth. But they did know what they were doing when it came to my wallet. I now am being treated my DR. BROWN @ KNOLLWOOD DENTAL. I have been VERY pleased with my choice. Not only did he clear up exactly what was really going on in my mouth (ONE ROOT CANAL AND 3 CAVITIES) but he told me the temporary filling could last a very long time. He thinks that tooth has healed and is keeping an eye on it before we decide what further work is needed. If the tooth has healed, I can just have it filled and a root canal may not be necessary. Total estimate of work at my new Dentist's office: $2258.50. That's a HUGE difference. Basically what this experience has proved to me is that Dr. Alex White and staff were not capable of giving me a proper dental assessment, and like I said earlier, I felt very uncomfortable and as if the main concern was how high they could get my dental bill as opposed to adequate dental care. I can't believe this happened to me at a dentist office! I will never go back there again, and I hope anyone who is reading this post will take my story very seriously and skip this practice. Look elsewhere for your dental care needs. I highly recommend my new dentist Dr. Brown @ Knollwood Dental. I had a night and day experience between the two practices. read more
