I have HATED going to THIS dental office for the years I've lived down here, but the ease of scheduling (compared to how difficult it is to schedule in Pensacola) and my general dislike of all dental experiences allowed me to just hold my nose twice a year vs. finding a new dentist. But I just went back and it was a completely new experience. 1. The waiting area was not putrid with air fresheners in every outlet!!! The office actually smelled like a dentist office! So wonderful! 2. My hygienist was new and had a nice personality! She was pretty and happy and not old and churchy. How nice! 3. They had HGTV on my TV and not the local news that makes me want to puncture my jugular with their pokey cleaning tools. 4. My NEW dentist sat his butt down on a freaking stool to examine my teeth instead of standing over me like a serial killer. (No, this is not a joke and I filed a formal complaint.) And I was thankful to have a new dentist to deliver the news that I had a small cavity that needed to be filled bc if my old dentist had made me imagine getting a filling by him...shudder* And I scheduled that filling and I went in and was out in an hour and my new dentist from the week before was still a completely normal dude the following Monday. He was super nice and very skilled and I am so happy with my filling! It's really smooth and perfectly moulded to my upper teeth and my floss doesn't catch. Perfection! I will definitely be going back and I am so glad my awful dentist's office has become such a turnaround story!! Still only 4 stars for the miserable years we shared together before now. read more

I have used Northcutt Dental for 22 years (a loyal patient) and it was an excellent Dental Office for many years. However, it definitely has changed and does not provide the same level of service as before. (In my opinion) the support staff are not interested in customer satisfaction. I was told yesterday that I did not have dental coverage and needed to make payment in advance. I explained that I did have coverage (I am my company's insurance administrator) and requested they check my file to see where the error might be. I was told I did not have coverage again without making the effort to check into the problem. I again was told to make payment. So, I did make payment. I reviewed our BCBS coverage today verifying the coverage then called back for a refund. This time I insisted they check my Insurance information/number and yup they had entered in incorrectly. It's not the mistake that I was offended by (we all make mistakes) but the Staff's lack of concern and unwillingness to put any effort into the issue. We miss you Dr. David. Up-date: I received a call from the Office Manager who was very professional and recognized my frustration. She also let me know that yesterday's payment was refunded to my card. I am impressed that the reviews are taken seriously and our posts will be used as learning tools. Her actions reassured me that we (as the patients) are still a top priority and will continue to be in the future as well. I was not treated like I should have been on my last visit to Northcutt dental I have been going to Northcutt dental for quite a while. On Thursday May 21, 2026, I went in for a cleaning After I had my cleaning from the dental hygienist I had to leave for about 15 minutes to go home to take care of some business concerning my disabled husband, I told the Xray technician that I needed to leave for about 15 minutes to do this I told her That I would be right back that I was not far from the office I only had to talk to the doctor about my treatment. She said OK. When I came back a woman named Madison got in my face and started talking to me like I was a little girl saying oh you were not supposed to leave like that we were looking for you all around the clinic we checked the bathroom we did not know what happened to you. I had to tell her first of all you do not talk to me like I am a child accusing me of just leaving without telling anyone about it second of all you need to find out the whole story of why I had to leave. I will not stop here and I will be reporting this matter to the BBB. My daughter was seen in the cottage hill location for a filling and they was not able to preform the service 10 year old she was crying because she was in so much pain and then the dental assistant was very aggravated with us very rude they told my husband that she will have to find another dentist that will do the work and sent us out the door well my daughter was left with a traumatize behind this experience and a pack tooth that they had started on had to take her to urgent care because she was in so much pain. I was left trying to find a peds dentist who would even look at her tooth. then the wait list was 2 month out. I was promised a refund and was lied to never received it and when I call the office manager was clueless on what I was talking about. I then stated to myself I will not be going back I had and appointment a few weeks after that and I paid 1/2 of my fee to have 2 filling and I cancel the day of because I didn't feel as if they care about the patients and yes we have BCBS of Alabama and I do work in healthcare and I understand that's a business but when it come to my kids I have to be the voice. I call and the receptionist lied about the name of who the office manager is and she stated that they don't have a corporate office or anyone higher then her but the owner of the company. And that she have to handle this matter. Well I don't think she understand that I was doing my research as she was talking on the phone but she is not the smartest. Its not about the 107 dollars that they took from me but its about the way you thought you were going to handle my child and the lies that you were speaking. My family has been with them from the day they opened.. years.. It seems now all they want you to do is fill in legal forms every time you show up. So today I had a scheduled cleaning. Given a new form basically saying I have no rights even if they screw up, and all these penalties etc.. I refused to sign it and left. They are not the same company I started with years ago. It was like family, now it seems they have graduated to the dental mafia, and any kindness, caring and treating you like a person rather than a number for getting dollars they have turned into. We are giving up a lot of free things we got over the years.. but I will find somene who knows my name, my history, and stands by their work. I would pick no stars if that were an option. I have begged my daughter to go somewhere else and now she is. She has had numerous procedures done at Northcutt that failed and had to be done again or teeth removed. Which means paying twice. Of course that dentist is no longer there. After one of her teeth had been capped it broke off so she had to get a partial. When it became discolored they ordered a new one and it was under warranty and she had already paid for it. At her appointment prior to receiving the new partial the new dentist she had been seeing told her that the tooth would have to be extracted before they would let her have the partial. That she paid for already. The doctor she saw when the tooth broke suggested keeping the remaining part of her tooth which is what she told the new dentist, Dr Houston, that she wanted to do. She asked that I go with her as she expected trouble. Dr Houston said it was in their policy not to give her the partial unless they extracted the tooth. I asked to see the policy and she said she would have to get the manager. Well the off manager said the same thing and I was extremely upset. I'm pretty sure that's not in any policy but it's just what they're told to say. We asked for her records and receipts and they refused to give her her records. Said she would have to get with billing or something. The manager asked us to leave or she would call the police at which I said go ahead. They did and I waited because I wanted to talk to them. One said his wife had worked there but left and that she could write a book about the place. He suggested we find another dentist. I told him that was already in the works!! I would not take my worst enemy there. They are not interested in what's best for the patient, just what keeps you shelling out money!!!! read more

My daughter went there for a cleaning only, she had no pain. They cleaned them and found cavities so they rescheduled for that procedure. When they finished she had pain for months, went back a few times more and was told she needed a root canal. I believe it was done on purpose to charge she went back a total of 3 times for c their error and charged her each time. I had gone to them prior and charged me 99 for a cleaning that never happened i asked why they c only put fluoride and she said i didn't have plaque and i hadn't been there for a year. They didn't give me anything for my infection because all they wanted to do was remove my teeth to pay thousands. They don't care about you, they only care about the money, save your teeth and money and go elsewhere. read more

Wow...I wish I had read the reviews prior to going to this dentist! I just got fired from them as a client. Was there last Friday for a cleaning. Was told that I had a cavity and the office worked up my dental plan. Was told that after contacting my insurance, my deductible, my part would cost me $43. Said ok let's pay and schedule. Was then told that I'd have to pay $50 for the appointment and they would reimburse the difference the day of my appointment. I told them that I was going to pay what I owed and no more! I understood if what I owed was more than the $50, requesting me to pay the deposit to hold my appointment but since it was less, I was just paying what I owed. They got it cleared thru the office as a one time allowance to pay what I owed ($43) and not the $50. I told them that I would only pay going forward what I was responsible for paying whether it was more or less than the $50. They've already contacted my insurance, know how much my insurance is paying and what I am responsible for paying. The office then tried to give me attitude about their policy and I made the comment that it was a dumba&@ policy to begin with. Anyway, paid what I owed and scheduled for my filling for today. Then I get a call this morning that basically saying that they're dumping me as a client because of my behavior and bad language. Now I know as Christian's we are supposed to forgive ones for trespassing's but I guess that Christian facility didn't get that memo. Therefore, because I said the word A&$, I've been dropped as a client‍. That's ok, they don't want my, my husband or our sons money, I'm ok with that because where I live, there's PLENTY of other dentists that will take my money!!! read more

Seems to me like it's a very quantity over quality practice. Had a root Canal done here and the procedure had to be stopped half way through because of the dentist breaking the instrument in my tooth. I was not informed of what happened until I showed up to the endodontist and they took an x-ray of my tooth. There was no compinsation ever made. read more

2:15 appointment, finally saw the dentist at 3:05. He spent at least 2 minutes with my granddaughter. Then told us we need to come back in a couple of weeks to get a cap replaced that had come off. This is the 3rd time it has happened; the same guy did the work both times before. Dentist "practice" is the correct term. This office is terrible. They should spend more dollars on good, professionals than on the expensive furniture in the waiting room. This place is a joke. Don't use them. 1 star because negative was not a choice. read more

I wasn't asked if someone training can use me to train on. It was my first time here ever. I did not want someone training on me my first time. The hygienist didn't even look at me while greeting me. Nor did she ask what flavors I wanted for my cleaning. She just gave me whatever. The doctor and hygienist seemed annoyed. Appointments shouldn't be made later in the day if people aren't going to be more welcoming. I did not feel valued or appreciated. my experience at the office on Schillinger, was really disappointing, I went in on November 5th for a single crown, after waiting a month on it, the day before i went in, they called and said the paperwork was lost. I had to start all over and waited another month, the crown came back with the color and shape way off, They sent it back , I waited another month. and Dr Seale was not very friendly at all. I finally got my crown on January 30. when he came into the room this time, he would not even speak to me. I had to be numbed twice because i was in the chair so long, that the feeling came back. However the assistants was nice, especially Kayla and Victoria. It is sad when a Doctor won't talk to you, and have no patient to calm. To me, this was trauma.will never go back. read more

This dental practice has amazing hours and offers later appointments on Monday. That was really a selling point for me when I was deciding on dental practices. The staff is friendly and you don't have to wait very long to see the hygienist for your cleaning. Dr. Tran (female) provided an extraction for my son and she was very sweet. We had the male dentist extract a tooth for my son a few years ago. (My son was much younger and very nervous). I definitely recommend the kind care of the female dentists over the male as they are very patient. read more

What started out as a good experience ended up being a total nightmare by the end of it all. i went to Northcutt because i had a tooth come lose and i was going in for a back surgery in one week. i ended up having 2 teethe pulled because of the bone lose of the one next to the other. and of course i was told that some other dental work need done ( upsell) but i declined and said i would come back in after my back surgery and have it performed. well because of the infection that was in my mouth i had to tell my back Dr that i had been to the dentist and he said as long as the dentist ( that i saw for maybe 15 min) said that the infection and teethe that was puled present no more issues my back surgery would be no issue. now ive had my teethe that she wanted to work on for over 60 years they are not loose dont have any cavities and im not in any pain whatsoever......btw this is Fri and my surgery is the very next Tues....that i have waited 3 months to have from a back injury in incurred at my job. so while i am at hospital having my pre-admit testing done DR Marquez responds to my back surgeon that because of the additional dental work i needed performed she would not release me to have my back surgery......i am livid at the decision that someone made on my behalf without even discussing the decision with me after i had already told her that i would have the additional work done after my back surgery........talk about upset because they didnt get to do their upsell......i will never set foot in their office again.....and i will sent letter to BBB and the dental board. this is the most unprofessional and under handed thing that has ever been done to me. now my back surgery that i have waited on for months to have is having to be put off more months because someone didnt get their upsell.......what a crock......and shame on you DR Marquez you need to have your license revoked and see how you feel losing thousands of dollars in income because of the decision of someone else.!!!!! read more

I visited this location because a co-worker expressed how he so loved the service provided. Well, my experience was so much more than he could have ever depicted. The front desk staff were timely and professional, which I would expect from a provider. The hygienist, walked me through every step, very knowledgeable young lady. She made sure I understood each procedure she was to embark on, she took extra time to answer questions and provided examples. I commend her on such a profession craft inwhich she exhibit knowledge and expertise. Toot toot to Santoyia (possible misspelling), she answers to Mo. Before I received my 2 fillings today, 5/13/2019, by wonderful doctor Emily Knight and her assistants Kennedy and Alexis (yeap, get jealous, I AM good with names) , I had an experience in a different dental clinic which I am not planning to name in this review. Another dentist told me I need a crown and spend on their treatment plan 1400. Look, I AM 45, I floss 3 times a day, don't smoke and blah-blah . I have only one crown, all teeth are mine. So, I went to northcut dental for second opinion. DR Emily Knight explained me that my cavities in between teeth are not big, and repaired the same day. Under 400. I hope all liars read this. DO NOT EVER COME TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE! I made an appointment for 6:30 tonight to get a chipped tooth fixed, I had the same procedure done on the same tooth at this place several years ago. I checked in at 6:15 and was called to the back at 6:30. I SAT IN THE BACK IB THE FREEZING COLD for over 30 minutes for the doctor to come in and look at my tooth and say he's going to put me on a treatment plan to put a crown on my tooth but they couldn't do anything tonight because they are closing. mind you I told them this morning I wanted the SAME thing I had done a couple of years ago weather it's a temp fix or not! he went round and round on what he recommended because he couldnt do anything tonight because they are about to close! None of the staff told me that I would be brought in just to be seen. Dentists and hygienists are great but receptionist and billing are poor in communication and deceptive in billing. You will pay more and they won't treat you with respect! I'd feel more honest giving zero stars, but there is no option to do so. Perhaps they mean well at Northcutt Dental, but the way they have managed my care is abysmal. I don't want to leave a super long review here but I can't begin to describe how much pain and how many trips and money I've wasted trying to have a crown and extraction. Each procedure has resulted in several re-do's. I will not take pain medication because I don't believe in narcotic use for myself. It's my individual choice. I get the feeling they do not believe that I'm in pain since I do not ask for drugs. Long story short: I have left my appointment at Northcutt today to start over at another dentist this afternoon. This means we will pay full prices because my insurance has already paid Northcutt Dental. However, there is no price limit on my teeth, my pain level, my well being. I and my family deserve to be competently medically treated. It's worth the thousands of extra dollars to see someone else. My advice: just skip Northcutt Dental altogether and find less of a factory-style practice where you are just another masked face in a busy waiting room. read more

I usually don't write bad reviews but I was shocked and disappointed with your Dentist and her rude attitude toward my grandson last Tuesday. I had brought him in for a consult to fix his teeth which,I know are in very bad shape. We were sent to Dr. Zieman for an extraction of an absessed tooth and told to come back and resume x-rays. We did so and were told by this dentist that she had said not to come back until all teeth were extracted. She spoke very harshly and loud enough for other patients to hear. Evidently, she does not know when she is violating the privacy act Both my daughter, who is the mom,and myself are nurses and were not appreciative of the unprofessionalism of this Dentist. My grandson was both embarassed and hurt for the way he was treated her. Needless to say, she will not be bothered with any of my family again. read more

From the time I called and made an appointment through check out after my visit was a smooth and comfortable experience. Everyone I encountered was an absolute professional: courteous and knowledgeable. I felt like I was in excellent care the entire visit. My hygienist was excellent and offered her advise with utmost respect. The dentist came in and while very young, was very gentle and made recommendations as needed and requested. I made an appointment with Northcutt Dental under the assumption that I was going to get a tooth extracted for $200. I was lead to the back and after x-rays told she who not pull the tooth, however she would fill it for $1300 or I could find someone else. After making my decision to leave, I had to pay $100 to get out the place. What a scam! The money is not the issue here. It's the fact that I was lured in under false pretense and paid money for a service that was not render. Please be cautious about this practice. read more

About a year ago I visited Northcutt Dental in Mobile Alabama. While there I received excellent care, the front office staff were very friendly and helpful. I also had a chance to meet the office manager Crystal Cox, she went the extra mile to ensure all my needs were met. While visiting the dentist may not be an exciting idea. The care and attention given by this staff certainly makes the trip enjoyable. read more
