I wanted to give praise to the dentists, and office manager Ms. Sumaya. Both dentists were professional and knowledgeable. They took care of my dental needs one issue at a time. I love their customer service and patient care service. I feel that I received top notch care to the fullest every time I had dental work done. The hygienist was just as amazing and made sure I understood the plan of care as I was being treated by her. Her customer service was exceptional as well. I want to really highlight the office manager Ms. Sumaya because she is the face of the company. I strive on exceptional customer service from the front office, prior to even seeing the providers. She was the first one I met and it has always been a pleasure. She is sweet, caring and sincere. Before leaving, I was never confused about the billing process and charges. Made an appointment which was suppose to be two weeks later. During that time I received several emails and texts about this appointment. The day before, they call and I gave them all my information and insurance information. I confirmed my appointment for the next day. The same day I got a text and email about my appointment and I confirmed both ways. The morning of my appointment someone called wanting the same information I had given the person the day before. That afternoon, I arrived for my appointment only for them to tell me it had been cancelled. They could put me back on the schedule but they were running behind and it would be over two hours. I left and told them I would contact them when I had over two hours to be at a dentist appointment. Now I am receiving text messages and emails stating I missed my appointment and to contact them to reschedule. After reading the reviews, I don't think I will. read more

I had an appointment made 6 months ago. They call me a day before my appointment that I had an 80-dollar copay. I called my insurance, and they said my cleaning is free. I called Aspen back, and the receptionist said the office manager has to do a predetermination on the claim. I had my teeth cleaned this year in March, so why a predetermination when I am not a new patient. They refused to give an answer and cancelled my appointment. I am going to the Georgia Board of Dentistry to file a complaint. I have used Aspen Dental in the past in Newnan, Ga. with no issues. I went in for a fitting for dentures, because I lost mine. I left with a $ 7000 estimate after insurance. I left.

I had an examination, x-rays, & a cleaning done. The dentist was very direct on telling the information on what she found wrong with my teeth & what the plan was that we should take. I agreed. Then I had to sign the paperwork for that day's services, insurance billing , HIPPA,, contact information,etc. Lastly, I had a cleaning done to my teeth. My mouth felt brand new! I'll definitely be going back to Aspen for as long as I can. I recommend anybody to go there for their dental needs. During my examination I found out that my previous dentist did some wrong work to my mouth & it caused further damage to my teeth. I went to him wanting dentures & he wouldn't put them in instead he fitted me for a partial.& put fillings & on my teeth that had cavities or that had corroded. That caused further damage to my teeth. During the exam I found out that my diabetes had caused my mouth to be dry & cause my mouth to produce little saliva & that has corroded all of my teeth except for 5 at the top. I will be needing dentures & crowns. My previous dentist didn't listen to me. My first visit to him I requested dentures. I knew that's what I needed . He ignored my request.He didn't listen to me as a patient when I spoke on what was going on with my teeth in my mouth & pain they were causing me for 5 years now. The dentist @ Aspen listened to me. I approved her plan for my surgery & dentures & crowns because that's what I requested my previous dentist to do & he didn't.If a doctor doesn't listen to you as a patient then he's/she's not the doctor for you. Brought my sister for the free consultation and radiographs...They then send her an invoice and when she calls to ask about it they tell her the other things they did which keep in mind they didn't inform her they weren't included in the consultation and would need to be taken care of out of pocket they just did them and expected her to pay.The matter could have been avoided with better communication with staff and their clients. Don't walk through the door!! They take all kinds of xrays the 1st trip and tell you they are FREE and then say I had gum disease for which I needed a deep cleaning, never been told that before. The procedure for this is not explained and the cost is not covered by ins. They refused to fill a tooth which is the reason I went there to begin with, unless I 1st have the deep cleaning. Improve the customer expectations set before dental appointments so they truly know what their out of pocket expenses will be after dental insurance. Also, replace the nasty attitude female African American dentist working at the Riverside Drive Macon GA location. She's not only rough and doesn't have any bedside manner at all, but she also messed up my fill in, leaving me to chew on the right side of my mouth since May 14th of this year. It's almost August. I am hoping that my fill in will be redone and they will resolve the financial misleading by my upcoming appt this coming Tuesday. I rated this a 1 star because zero wasn't an option. I sent my Mom here to get dentures. They removed teeth and fitted her for dentures the same day. Needless to say, the dentures didn't fit. After a couple of visits to get them right, she was informed that they couldn't help her until her balance was paid off. Fast forward, husband dying with no insurance & a global pandemic. She finally pays off the balance and makes an appointment. So excited she will finally have teeth!!! She's informed at her appointment that the 6 month warranty has expired and they would need an additional $700+ to start a new set. Wow!!!!! Really? If you have money to throw away, then this place is glad to take it. How shady and debar dismal customer service! I scheduled an appointment to have a wisdom tooth pulled at the office on Riverside Drive in Macon, GA. Apparently their dentist went on a vacation trip to Canada, witch is great. However, I drove 40 minutes to my appointment and they didn't say anything until after I sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes. They then tell me that I cannot have my tooth pulled because their "stand in doctor doesn't do them." So I missed a full day of pay, wasted gas, had to pay a babysitter and I am STILL in pain. To add insult to injury, the woman working the desk has terrible customer service skills. She was in NO way apologetic to the inconvenience the company caused me. She also informed me that she saw me come in and KNEW that there was no one available to do my procedure. Yet she allowed me to sit in the waiting room. read more

I got surprised when the lady on front desk ask me to reschedule since the office cancelled my appointment because they have an important two procedures to other patents and they can't take me today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they give me a call about an hour earlier about cancellation and I couldn't answer, and I called them there after and I told them I'm coming even though the lady asked me if I like to reschedule. The initial visit was very pleasant and cordial, but when it comes to what really matters they will just push you aside. It might be true that they are under staffed and overwhelmed at this time, but they should let the customer know that on the first visit and not have someone that needs care urgently hanging around for 3 weeks plus without a clue on what's going on. I was concerned about going to Aspen Dental due to the previous reviews; however I had a pleasant experience. We were in and out very quickly. Even though my mother was the patient, it was important that she had a good experience and I made sure I was fully involved. My mother was very pleased with their service. When I asked about the online reviews, they stated that the previous dentist and staff were no longer there and had been replaced. The lady who covers financing is very sweet and extremely helpful. The front desk staff has been very, very friendly. The back area is very, very clean and the staff were very nice and made sure I was informed about my mother. If I did have to say something about areas of improvement it would be that their insurance filing process was a little bit of a pain, signatures for financing and verification from insurance was more back and forth than it probably should be. There was a lot of back and forth with Humana healthcare, but that could have been more of Humana than Aspen. Make sure all signatures for financing is signed before any follow up visits. Also, the front bathroom should be cleaned more often and the waiting chairs have "stains" on them. I am a germaphobe and I work for a healthcare facility and the first impression of a dental or doctor office should be spotless. They should replace the chairs or get them professionally cleaned. It looks like someone has urinated on almost all of them. It's very noticeable. The lobby is actually very clean and pleasant, it was only the bathroom and chairs. Lastly, after my mother received her dentures, they told me it would be one more appointment for the permanents and a follow up adjustment for her temporaries once the swelling goes down; but there were several more adjustments on the temporaries than I expected or understood, causing me to have to leave work and make arrangements each week for about 3-4 more weeks. In this case, just make sure you communicate with them about how many visits have to be made right after the temporary dentures. As the swelling comes down and the sore spots lessen there will be more adjustments in the coming weeks, possibly 3-4 adjustment sessions each week after the temporary dentures. It seems that they have made a lot of improvements to the staff which seems to be the main issue in past reviews. The wait time was reasonable. Overall, we were very satisfied with the procedure and the staff. read more

They've got a big fine for their "extractions" of a monetary nature. The website makes it appear that they're this big outfit and I was expecting a large office complex. Got there and I've seen cellphone stores bigger. They had a small waiting room, an X-Ray room, looked like one room for fillings, a office, maybe a common break area and one odd room that was long and narrow to do exams and cleanings. Arrived early for my appointment to fill out paperwork. No one was there but one guy waiting. When it got close to my appointment, maybe the first one after lunch, the woman came out of the back and jumped me for not filling out paperwork. No one was here. Oh, it was right here on the counter. Am I supposed to go rooting around her counter top? I didn't like. Self service. What next? Self service fillings? When in the back for the X-rays. These are now digital and they have about three sizes of plates that can fit inside your mouth. She chose one that was a bit too big and hurt the inside of my mouth. Back out front. It was a game of musical chairs with everyone. More waiting, more people go back, then come back out front to wait. Now I go back again into the back room. They had a TV attached to the chair while you waited which changed to a drawing of your teeth as they progressed. This is to scare you. This woman takes a very sharp, needle like probe and begins prodding my gums and teeth. It really hurt. Ever have a filling and accidentally get a piece of aluminum foil on it when you're chewing? Know how much that hurts? That's what it was like when she when she dragged that thing across one of my fillings. She was literally trying to dislodge it. It hurt so much that looking back, I wish I'd got up and punched her in the mouth. She then began poking my gums and calling out numbers. When I say poking I mean just that. This really hurt too. She called out to the assistant that I had bleeding gums. Sure I did because she made them bleed. Glossed over the results of the X-Rays. Needed crowns, deep cleaning, and had a few small cavities. I mentioned I thought I'd rather have the fillings done before the cleaning. Oh, no, it's more important to do the deep cleaning first. That's because that's where the money is and they need to keep their books up on sales. Look it up online. She never really showed me which teeth needed crowns but also stated needed several root canals. Back out front. I sit out front, likely kept waiting to reflect on the seriousness of my condition (according to this witch doctor) while more people go back and come back out. Finally I go back. This was the financial officer. She had a plan worked up for me that was an estimate with my insurance I would be out of pocket between five and seven grand. This didn't include the root canals. She then whips out this paper for me to sign and stated, the cost would be about $199 a month. Now when did I want to start my treatment? I said I'd think about it first. There were two sets of figures. The figures on the desk and the figures on her chest. Now, she was an attractive woman, I'll give her that and dressed very nicely. But, you cannot tell me that she didn't know her blouse was unbuttoned almost to her waist! It was a silk kind of garment that's kind of springy and flaps open. You could see everything she had on under it. Nice beige bra, lady. I'll look at the figures on the table and the figures on the chest but I'm not going to sign anything. Called my insurance company and since they wanted to do the deep cleaning first which used to be called "splitting the gums," it would max out the yearly benefit totals rather quickly and I would be more out of pocket. They had factored in an antibiotic for this splitting the gums which requires the gums to be numbed. That's a major red flag. I was told, yes, this is a good antibiotic but used if there's an infection. If it's used the same day as the procedure, the insurance won't pay for it. Factor in the cost of root cancel that I may or may not need. Their concept was to scare and intimidate the client into signing. The whole mess is doing these gum splittings or deep cleanings as that's where the money is. read more

I went in to get a cleaning, they made me get full X rays even though I had gotten them done about 6 months before, I guess so they could charge my insurance. Then they said I needed a deep cleaning for only a couple thousand dollars. I said No just a regular cleaning. The said no, I left without getting my teeth cleaning. I was informed that my appoint only gave me a 15 minute holding time wait , and I was the last patient . They could not wait for me . I said ok . I had a dental appointment today and after reading the reviews was skeptical. Some complained about waiting for the office to open. I arrived 20 minutes before the office opened. The receptionist opened the office a few minutes early. Some complained about waiting a long time. I waited about 5 minutes. The X-ray tech was super sweet, the hygienist answered all my questions and was easy to talk to, once the dentist came in she explained everything to me and gave my all options. The billing lady came in and introduced herself as well as the scheduler. I was blown away with the customer service. Having moved from South Florida, where you pay for what you get, the prices were reasonable and in the price range I've paid other places. This is your smile that we're talking about, I would want the best possible outcome because it's the first thing you see when you meet someone. I had a poor experience here. I just wanted to get a regular cleaning as I have been getting done for years. I have dental insurance and that's covered. I get there and they convince me that a regular cleaning won't do and I must have a "deep cleaning" for which I fork over several hundred dollars on top of my insurance. They tell me to come after several more weeks to do it again. They max out my insurance and want me to keep coming back and pay out of pocket for the costs. I don't go back and go to another dentist who says a regular cleaning would be fine and my life goes back to normal. I think I learned more about the condition of my dental health in that one visit than ever before. I would have given 5 stars but the receptionist said that she didn't have me scheduled for an appt. I told her that I made the appt over a month ago and this was the earliest that I could get an appt. She continued looking for it, while I went on to say that someone had called me to confirm the appointment just the day before. I don't if they simply have bad or complicated appointment software or if the Receptionist is disorganized. While I was filling out paperwork, a woman came in with her daughter only to be told that her daughter wasn't on the schedule. I was seen in this office in December 2018. I paid for services IN FULL on the day of the visit. They billed my insurance, which also paid for the covered services. From December 2018, to March 27, 2019, they have yet to refund the more-than-$700 credit owed to me. I've made several calls about; they simple take down my name and phone number each time, and I never get a call back. It seems they're waiting for a $35 charge (for what, I haven't a clue), that's still lingering "out there". Hello!!! You owe ME over $700!! Today, I informed them that I will give them another 5 days to resolve this, at which time I will be getting an attorney. This is ridiculous! I rarely, if EVER, post negative reviews. But I will NEVER recommend Aspen Dental to ANYONE!! On top of everything else, I still had to be referred to an oral surgeon to get the job done! Do NOT go to this location. since the restructure of their business and staff, Aspen has made a positive turn around. The staff now seem happy to be at their job versus trying to rush you in and out and having an attitude. They take their time with they are doing to make sure that they are doing it right. They are not having to stop in the middle of what they are doing to take care of another patient. If I have a question about billing, I actually receive a call back versus me having to try and call them and getting a different person. They are able to resolve any billing issues I have right then and there. The front desk staff, Ashley, has a great demeanor and very professional. She was able to answer my questions that I had versus telling me I will have to get back with you. Any corrections that needed to be made, she did it right there. The hygienist , Sheena, kept me informed on what I needed to improve on as she cleaned my teeth versus waiting until the very end. The new dentist they have on staff has a gentle hand and is on point. Him and his associate Brittany, made getting my crown painless as possible. The atmosphere there is now calm. I now look forward to going to them. The only thing that I am big about is how expensive they can be. read more
