The dentist and all the staff are so kind! I had to get a crown and it went well, minimal and zero pain!

The dentist came in and looked like a kid that just got out of gym class. Had all these expensive treatments like crown, crown, crown that he recommended. Another dentist had recommended simply replacing the fillings on those teeth. However, that other dentist also recommended putting two crowns on the front tooth. This little kid dentist missed that completely. When I brought this to his attention, he recommended leaving those teeth alone completely. So, we have two different dentists in two different practices with two different opinions of what needs to be done. The common thread is they both chose expensive procedures but for different teeth. They have this really fancy machine that has a wand on it. It goes in your mouth and creates a 3D image of your teeth. From this 3D image, the little kid dentist made his recommendations. He mentioned one tooth was cracked. Was it cracked or was that a surface stain? A surface image won't show that. If only there was some invention that could show the condition of a tooth on the inside to show cracks, decays. If only someone would invent something that could show the actual condition of the teeth. Oh, yeah, like X-Rays which they took but never referenced. Red flag. They had this round faced girl come in and put pointy things in my mouth and said you need a deep cleaning. I looked at her point blank and said we're not doing that! The look on her face just melted like a snowflake. I told her the old name for this procedure which is called splitting the gums? Guess why it was called that and guess why they changed the name? The financial officer came in with a five page amounting to thousands of what they were going to do. Of that, the insurance would only cover 40%. This office is ridiculously over priced! I have great dental insurance and have lived in multiple states and gone to various dental offices. I have never had any ridiculous out of pocket expenses prior to going to this office. Now even for a simple teeth cleaning I am being charged $149 aside from what my insurance already paid. I will take my business elsewhere. They claim to be in network but overcharge for their procedures so even in simple procedures both patient and insurance pay. read more

Excellent new dentist. Smells delightful when you go in. The hygienist and dentist were great. Highly recommend.

One of the techs broke my permanent retainer. They referred me to 2 different orthodontists that couldn't see me for over 2 weeks. It resulted in my teeth shifting, undoing the years and thousands of dollars I had put into straightening my teeth. Very unhappy with their services. I will not be back or recommending any of my friends to this practice. read more

Buckle up... this is long and needs to be read by Amy potential clients. I am a private pay patient. I've seen drs all over the US for care, etc for an unrelated condition. Jason Mann is not there anymore working as a dentist. He owns the business and manages things but he doesn't do any dentistry (unless something radical happened) Staff has changed. And God forbid you need information-- Shaylee is horrible. One of the rudest staff members I've ever met anywhere. This was a great place at one point. I've paid over $55,000 for my teeth--yr read that right, I don't mind paying the money for care and expertise. But in this case, I paid to be tortured and then asked for more and more money. Now they say I need teeth. I have 8 implants and something like a bridge for all the teeth in between.... Dr Holcomb has basically taken over Jason's former clients and he was awful. He said I needed all of my mouth work REDONE. And sent a lovely lady in to tell me it would cost another $20l. When I said I didn't have another $20,000 to "update" my teeth. At the time my implants/teeth were 3 years old and out of warranty at 3 years.... THREE. And now they need to replace everything. I explained I didn't have that kind of $$$$$, Holcomb said "if I broke one of the implants, I'd be sorry",,,,sent another staff member to ask for the $20,000. I finally left and had to talk Shaylee before getting out the door. I explained AGAIN I didn't not have an extra $20,00 lying around. I just finished my 3 warranty and now they want more money. And I paid cash. And they want more cash. They found at least 100 ways to keep insurance from paying. Once we realized what they coded the procedure as, we understood the problem. Jaime conveniently found a way to carry it out over 12 months and insurance wouldn't pay at that point. I had paid $10k cash to even BOOK the procedure. They wanted cash for the rest. Shaylee said she guessed I needed NOT to come back until I had the money. I've used multiple dentists in my life all over the nation. I have never paid this kind of money in my life for anything other than a down payment on a home. My CAR doesn't cost $50K. At least when Jason Mann was practicing there he nor the staff were as rude . He still asked for $20k to do "new teeth with new materials" on day 3,654 (3yrs and 1 day past my warranty). If you go, enjoy the nice furnishings and "technology," I am sure I paid the down payment for part of it. You're welcome I have left reviews previously for this business and the staff but they get removed. After I left a review somewhere else, Shaylee called me at home and threatened me if I left another review stating anything negative. She said I was lying and NO ONE HAD come into the room with an offer to redo the teeth for another $20,000. She called me a liar. And then said they would redo the teeth for just $6000. They were using a new lab and technique and if I agreed to try it, all I had to do was pay $6k. Again I told Shaylee that these teeth should have lasted at least 10-15 years. She said that I was "just going through my teeth quicker than other clients." She didn't know why but I "just used them up." At least the surgeon Dr Zinny is no longer there. He was to remove all of my teeth and do the implants. He gave me 8 Halcion trying to make me sleep through the procedure. It still didn't work. My arms were bruised where Zinny's wife was helping to hold me down as he pulled each tooth. Another dentist told me Zinny was at another office somewhere. So that's good. But unfortunately Shaylee is still there. And again, be aware that reviews, comments etc,, that Shaylee doesn't like, she WILL confront you. She's a bully- just like the mean kid on the playground in elementary school. Except now she's at the dental office and threatens the customers. And as someone else said, they re-write conversations and events that happened. And it's to their advantage. And she will then call you a liar. I contacted Jason and left messages and never heard a word from him. Nada. I know he isn't practicing due to a health issue but his replacement dentist is horrid. So to recap at year 3 and out of warranty- I was asked to pay $20k to have them redone At year 4, I had the exact same convo. And now it is year 5 and I have no where to go. My last visit , they struggled unscrewing the teeth and then screwing them back down. They were so rough, they chipped each hole on all 8 implants. The tiny hole is now a huge hole. Out of everything, I can't believe Jason didn't return my emails or calls. And I can't believe Shaylee is still bullying clients. Take your $50k-$60k and have someone else do your implants. At least with a dentist that won't holler at you and belittle you. read more

I apologize for the long, detailed review, but I want people to be aware of precisely how shifty this place is. My experience at this spa actually began as very positive. I was pretty sure I needed at least one implant and a crown when I initially called the Providence Dental Spa. Everyone was ultra friendly as I discussed my issues, so I made an appointment for a consultation, which was just under $300. After that, I was presented with a "COMPREHENSIVE", 3 step treatment plan, including all associated costs. I'm private pay, so I did feel sticker shock when I saw the thousands it would cost, but had expected as much and wanted to proceed. Step one saw the surgical removal of a tooth and preparation of an implant. Weeks later, I was already numbed up, in the chair, and awaiting step 2, a fitting for a crown, when the staff brought up scheduling the next phase of my treatment. It is at this moment my opinion of Providence Dental Spa when from 5 stars to no stars... Suddenly, the staff realized they left a step out of my "comprehensive" treatment plan. Which step? Why it was the actual implant, the entire reason I was there in the first place and the one thing we had discussed more than anything else. Now this is where the clinic staff gets bold... First, they inform me the missing last step of my treatment will literally cost an additional 50% more than my original quote. Imagine you've bought and paid for a $40,000 car, then the dealer told you that if you want the key to operate the car, you will need to pay an additional $20,000. Then, imagine when you ask the dealer why they did not tell you about the additional cost the response is: "oppsie!" That will give you some sense of how livid I was when they tried to increase the cost of my treatment by thousands of dollars while I am sitting in a chair awaiting the 2nd phase to be completed. Needless to say, I was so upset I was shaking. After taking a moment to cool down in the restroom, I decide to forego step 2 of my "comprehensive" treatment plan because I no longer have confidence Providence Dental Spa is trustworthy. As if to prove that point, while I am waiting for my refund, they try to convince me I must not have told the doctor I wanted an implant. They seriously tried to rewrite my entire history with their staff to cover what was either their oversight or a highly manipulative attempt to get more money from me, which was just beyond sickening. As I left the office, I had not raised my voice or used profanities, but it was obvious how exceptionally unhappy I was. The staff apologized, promised they would investigate the matter, and get back to me to figure out how to make things right, except... THEY NEVER DID! That's right, they never made any attempt to reach out to me in any way, shape, or form. Apparently, they realized they could not force me to pay 50% more by leaving my dental work half done, so they gave up. Such class! If you are private pay, I would not even consider this place. If you use dental insurance, I would probably still give this place a pass. read more

Dr Mann has been my dentist since I moved to Macon 4 years ago. My whole family goes here actually. Every single one of the ladies on staff treat you like a friend. They are attentive and answer all questions in detail. Dr. Mann never seems rushed when you see him. This dentist offers many amenities to help you relax and enjoy your dental visit. I recently moved from Alabama to Georgia and due to re locating I was in need of a dentist. Having to move in my career has been a constant theme. In my life I have had extensive dental care due to some unforeseen events. Which has caused me to have a lot of dental work performed. I have had several dentists over the years and I can honestly say Dr. Karan Thachil is the best in dentistry. His attention to detail, professionalism and workmanship is state of the art. He has had to re do some previous dentist work from a previous dentist that unfortunately did not do a good job. I am very thankful for an honest dentist that is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. read more
