Questionable credentials and methodology Spititual 'adviser' is a retired speech therapist. the reference to 'Aslan' is ,refers to a type of breathe control., What does that have to do with thier ' treatment' philosophy? Please question the ethics of this Institute. They did me way more harm than good by the unproven, unethical methods working with repressed memory. If you know you have trauma from your past, I do not recommend seeing anyone at Aslan. Edit update 11/18/19. It has come to my attention that Charisse Lyons and Lyndall Johnson consulted with my mother behind my back to get me to into counseling. Initially I was looking for a therapist to help my autistic son. I had chosen one of the Aslan Therapists who had a lot of experience in this area. My mother also sees Charisse and Lyndall. They discussed my desire to meet with this therapist and my mother convinced me that she was not a good therapist but offered that Charisse would be willing to see me. There was never any intent to work with my son. Let that sink in.... the head of Aslan and her right hand spiritual coach Charisse and my mother used my autistic son to deceive me into therapy. This has destroyed my relationship with my mother. I will never trust her again. They displayed lack of professional ethics, as well as violating all my boundaries. They do not believe in the free will of others. Charisse Lyons has the ability to manipulate emotional energy so if you have a flash back or suddenly feel overwhelmed In therapy... really check to see if what you're feeling are in fact feelings that originate within you. This type of energetic manipulation should NOT be happening ever at all. To add insult to injury, they also run a Tonglen Buddhist group as well. Talk about unethical and not spiritual. I took the Midwifing Death class. The course was 2 1/2 days of listening to the presenters talk about themselves. There was no opportunity to practice what they claim on the course description, there were no small group discussions. They have absolutely no idea how adults learn. They lecture. That is all they do. 2 1/2 days of stories...about the presenters...and how amazing they are. The subjects on the course list were very lightly covered, if at all. Several of the topics we were supposed to learn about, we were referred to articles in a booklet that we received rather than discussing them. Then they told more stories...about themselves. I asked for a refund, I was told that they "monitor the content and quality of all our Aslan Institute Trainings very carefully" although there was no evaluation of the course afterwards, so I am not sure what that means. I have spoken to several of the other attendees who had similar reactions. Aslan wouldn't know about this because they don't ask. 300 bucks down the drain. I did not get the refund I asked for, and found the course to be a complete waste of time and money. read more

I have attended several classes and groups at The Aslan Institute, and have found them to be valuable, enjoyable, and eye-opening. They have excellent meditation instructors, and I have been impressed with the content and teaching of the Evolution of Consciousness classes. I want to comment on one of the therapists, Bonnie Resnick. My experience with Bonnie has shown her to be an ethical, caring, very professional and focused therapist and teacher. It is obvious to me that Bonnie strives to provide the best quality therapy while maintaining healthy boundaries in the client/therapist relationship. She has been very pleasant, providing many good ideas, drawing on her years of experience. The Aslan Institute provides a wide variety of therapies and classes, and I have not been disappointed once when I have utilized their services. I would highly recommend Aslan! read more

you were with my wife the last three days. She told me that she had mentioned to you that my father had passed away while she was up there in Minnesota. I told her I accepted the fact that she could not make it to the funeral that she had planned this retreat many months ago. Even though my brother and sister-in-law flew back from Australia to be there. I loved my father very very dearly. I was and still am grieving. You call yourselves some kind of therapist I find that very hard to believe any kind of therapist would not have compassion for someone grieving for one of their parents who is passed away. I find it totally unacceptable that you would not allow me to speak to my wife for 10 minutes to give me some Comfort.I was very depressed and alone. I cannot believe that you took the phone off the hook and instructed Julene to turn off her cell phone. At the very minimum I think you are fucking assholes. I think it is unfair for reviewers to give negative reviews to Aslan Institute. Each of the providers work independently as solo practitioners at that location. Negative remarks impact the livelihood of all of the providers who are located there. If there is a problem with one provider, then the issue should focus on that individual. It's like saying that all Health Partner clinics are bad based on the service of one health care provider. I've been to seminars and have seen different providers there and have never had an issue. The seminars are educational and usually have a psycho-spiritual subject matter. I love the location too. I can only speak from my experience, but I have always had top notch services from the providers I've seen at Aslan. read more
