Amazing how much you can get wrong with only three customers in a restaurant that isn't even half full. I've been here a few times and it was always quite pleasant. Reserved a table for my birthday today expecting a similar experience. I couldn't have been more wrong. We arrived at 6.30 when there were only 3 other tables occupied. The waitress asked us if we wanted some bread and olives, which never arrived. The light on our table was broken so we had to move to the adjacent table to be able to read the menu. My son ordered from the children's menu, my wife ordered pasta pomodoro and I ordered the fusilli Bolognese. After 15 minutes, my son's starter and main course arrived together. He started eating and was actually finished when my wife's starter arrived. I waited another 15 minuted, then started asking where my starter was. Even though we both ordered a set menu, they forgot my starter, buratta Caprese. It took another 12 minuten to get that to the table. Buratta is supposed to be a fresher, softer version of Mozarella but the lump that arrived in the middle of a tough nest of rocket salad, basil leaves (still with freezer burn) and some tomatoes was of a lower quality than the £1 Mozarella you can buy at Tesco. It arrived straight from the fridge with a tough skin around it. My son decided to turn his attention to games on the phone since he was already completely finished, except for his dessert. The time between starter and main course was even longer. Somehow they even messed up that as my wife got spaghetti Bolognaise instead of the pomodoro, which is distinctly different, at least in real Italian restaurants. Despite the apologies and reassurance that the right dish would arrive within minutes, it took almost another quarter hour. My fusilli were okay, nothing special though. My son wanted fruit for dessert which turned out to be raspberries, straight from the freezer. My tiramisu was a soggy pudding without any alcoholic touch or the crunch of real ladies fingers (again too long in the fridge). All in all, I don't think I'll try this place again. read more
