Luna Rossa is a traditional Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Notting Hill and we had a very lovely evening there. The place had a great buzz and from the second we stepped in it almost felt like we were transported straight to Italy. We were welcomed immediately and the whole evening was just one win after another. There was no trouble getting a table but there was still a nice amount of people in the restaurant - perfect! For starters I had the mussels and they were absolutely delicious. Only thing is that they don't bring you bread automatically so next time we will be sure to order some to dip with the mussel dish as the sauce was to die for. It had a nice little chili kick to it too which I loved. For the main course I had the Gnocchi in a simple tomato sauce with homemade fresh Burrata (oh my god) and it was amazing! I also had a nice glass of Pinot Grigio with my dinner. For dessert I went for the classic Tiramisu and even though it was good, it was definitely the low point of the dinner unfortunately. The dish was quite cold as they seem to freeze the desserts - I don't like that at all. Also the portion was so huge I couldn't finish it. My friend ordered Gelato for dessert and she requested some chocolate sauce on top. When she got her dessert there was no sauce because it had ran out - and instead of only apologising to us, the staff brought us both complimentary Limoncello shots :) This is how you get people to come again, which we will surely do! And as a cherry on top, as we were leaving the restaurant the owner came to us and introduced himself and asked our names followed by giving us both big hugs and kisses on the cheeks and welcomed us back again. It was totally awesome! We will definitely make this a regular thing! :)

Luna Rossa is a solid neighbourhood choice. It's part of the Made in Italy chain, and has a bit of that family-friendly look with the mock Italian decor (and also because families are often there), but still... I do like it for a casual lunch or dinner. I recently had an underwhelming salad there for lunch but the excellent bread (homemade on the premises, yum) and reasonably priced wine more than made up for it. The long pizzas are really good too.

We ate here 3 out of 7 nights that we stayed in London. Order pizza #1. Few ingredients...simple and delicious.

It is a small sit, so reservations are a must, although they did accommodate some walk-ins. Everything was freshly made which added to an elevated experience. Service was perfect balance of being prepared to execute as well as being able to spending time getting to know each other. This palace is highly recommended!

My mom is, which is why we went but there are rather limited options, at least on pasta courses, that don't include pecorino. 2 - we tried three different pasta dishes. What made them truly stand out was the freshness of the pasta. That said, the sauces weren't remarkable. I tried a special pasta with pecorino, butternut squash, and mushrooms which was nice and not heavy but not partial flavorful. 3 - the ambiance is great if you like a small restaurant- with maybe 10 tables and 500 sq ft of space, this restaurant has character and charm. 4 - the service was outstanding. The staff were kind and efficient. 5 - the dessert was just OK - had some scoops of ice cream and the peanutella was outstanding while the strawberry and the pistachio were just fine. 6 - the appetizer cheese plate was the real highlight of the night here. Fresh cold cuts and cheese with the most wonderful fig jam. All in all; this is a good stop and you certainly won't have a bad experience! Perhaps just not the most notable.

We came across this place and had a preview of their menu. When we saw food we would like to try we walked in. We were sat almost immediately. It was a little slow when we first arrived but soon picked up. The staff was super friendly and the place gave a quaint home like feel. We sat down and ordered some cocktails and water. We didn't want to stuff ourselves so we order the margarita pizza and an order of fries to share. Everything came out pretty quickly. We were offered a spicy oil for our meal. The guy said it was spice but to be honest it was on the more mild side of spicy. I like spicy food and this wasn't spicy enough for me. Maybe some chili pepper flakes mixed in what have been the spicy I was expecting. My friend and I enjoyed our meal and the service. I think everything was good. The reason for my four stars was because the basil (although fresh) was scarce in my pizza. The guy also had to substitute the drink we ordered with a syrup he had in stock because the one the drink calls for wasn't available. Also, who wants to pay £4 for a bottle of water to share. Crazy. Other then those small criticisms I would come back. I think it's worth coming back to. Give them a try and judge for yourself. My tastebuds and stomach were very happy.

Giancarlo responded via email to let us know what pastors and pizza did not have eggs. We were able to order, spaghetti, rigatoni, and any pizza. We really appreciated the early notice. We each ordered a pasta or a pizza, and also split lamb chops at the table. Everything was yummy. The kids ordered the spaghetti all'Amatriciana, Rigatoni alla Genovese, and the Diavola pizza. They all finished their healthy sized portions (especially the pizza) and joked with the wait staff about the amount of Parmesan that our youngest had on his pasta. My wife had the Gnocchi con Nduja e Salsicca (which was so good! And she didn't finish and we brought some home) and I had the Margherita pizza with some of the Lamb Chops. The pizza was a little more doughy than we thought it would be, but it was unique and so flavourful! My eldest som even had a bite. The Lamb Chops smelled and tasted amazing, just the perfect amount of char grill on it. All the staff were friendly. The waitress working the desserts was prepping them right beside our table. That convinced us to get three desserts to share. We had the Gelati, the Belgium Apple Flan, and the After Dinner Mint. Our youngest licked the Mint dessert clean, loved it. The wafers in the Gelati may have had eggs so the allergy free folks in our group ate them. Everything was scrumptious. Great spot, great ambience, and really friendly staff. This place was steady, and it looked like there were a number of locals who frequent the spot. That doesn't surprise him because everything but the spirits was just excellent. Thank you so much to the staff for a wonderful night.
