Ordered food here on Uber eats and was underwhelmed and a bit disappointed. The bbq pork bao buns were the best thing out of what I ordered , but it was more of the boa bun than the BBQ pork filling so it was a little dry. the teriyaki chicken was chewy , & a very small portion for $10, the pork dumplings were a bit greasy and lacked flavor, the crab Rangoons had little to no crab inside, and the BBQ pork ribs actually scared me because ive never seen any kind of meat like this... And super fatty pieces / micro bone shards everywhere they were completely inedible.
The food was pretty good here. I got a tuna roll with eel sauce, and my friend got Steamed buns and gyoza. pretty good but nothing special. The service was a bit weird, It seemed very family dynamic which is fine. It's a bit awkward when you have a angsty teenager who clearly doesn't want to be there "working" the front. I asked for wasabi and they seemed confused that I asked for that??? The vibe of the restaurant was okay. We probably won't be back.
Service was great, inside is fine decor wise and the menu is cool.. Food was okay in the moment, however it made me violently ill. We just got the already cooked dumplings.. shrimp, pork and chicken. That was all I had eaten that day aside from an iced latte which I don't think was the reason for getting sick. I had a horrible stomach ache about a both after that lasted 3 hours and ended in my throwing up.wont be going back because im scared to get sick again. Sad because the staff were really nice :( thinking it was the shrimp or that the pork was undercooked ?
what's up broskis so we came over to this place cuz we just saw it across the street and decided to check it out the place is that retry and the tables are massive (massive?) here are some odd things: the egg in the ramen was blue/grey, and according to jadical it was absolutely horrendous and the water was also a tad blue.. the appetizers were yummy, you can't go wrong with those; dumplings, green beans, and steaming rice were really good. The seafood ramen was very delish except for the egg. also pricing is pretty fair for the most part, and sushi was yummers. One of my only complaints is maybe having the waiter/waitresses wear gloves, cuz when they brought out soup their fingers were touching it also sesame balls are awesomesauce okay slighttt edit cuz the people here aren't the nicest father had gone to use the bathroom and they started forcing him to tip them and they were really mean..
Would not recommend this place to anyone. Not even my worse enemy. Fish was terrible, rice was hard and service was slow. One of my friend got food poisoning from this place. Should have known to run out the minute we walk it and see no asian people around. Ambiance was nice and quiet because no one would step in to the restaurant.
I really like the fact that ASIE is trying to put out some Cantonese food on the Santa Barbara map. Perhaps it is the fact that I am Cantonese so I have significantly higher standards for Dim Sum, but this set of dishes is just not up to par. On the bright side, the ambience is really calming and the service is great. While their dim sum is lacking, perhaps their other food is better. Here's my reviews on their Dim Sum: Shrimp Cheung Fun - Unfortunately, this rice noodle dish needs significant improvement. Not only does the frozen cheung fun you can buy taste better but also the noodle is so chewy its like you're trying to engulf a mouthful of chewing gum. The batter needs to be a lot thinner, use less glutinous rice flour, and the soy sauce needs sugar. The shrimp is well seasoned and tender though. Spinach Dumpling - Sorry, but unfortunately this is another rough one. The filling of this dumpling is pure spinach, and the spinach has nothing wrong except the poor seasoning. However, a dumpling with pure spinach does not work because all you have is a mushy bundle of leafage once you squeeze the water out. Additionally, the skin is thick, bland, and wrapped poorly. In addition to some improvement in mastering dumpling wrapping, this dumpling also need some grounding substance for the filling to go with the spinach, among some necessary seasoning adjustments. Bean Curd Roll - The last of my ASIE reviews, and unfortunately, this dish is not good either. The rolls are poorly wrapped, almost hollow, and need significantly more filling, vegetarian or pork-based. The sauce is like a thin soy, but needs to be a thick gravy with more mushroom flavor and less soy. The only saving grace for this dish is the garlic on top, which is an interesting spin to the dish.
Decent food but don't expect to compare it to the more popular Chinese or dim sum spots. We were seated quickly on a Saturday but they were not so busy at that time. They have indoor and patio seating, which was nice to be able to enjoy good weather. One person ordered ramen and he didn't enjoy it. The sushi was pretty solid. The spicy wontons had an odd aftertaste to it. The staff is very nice!

When the server came back my friend tried to change their order but the server told them it was already being cooked. This made my friend uncomfortable and not trying to be rude still took the order they did not want. I got the duck ramen and it was only 2 pieces of duck with a lot of bone. Was tasty. So that's why it gets the extra star. (From 0 to 1) Bbq Bao was okay as well, not very filling. But the service wasn't professional since my friend was pressure to still order a dish and pay due for the dish that was already being cooked. (Like why place the order in the kitchen when the customer told you to not do so because they're still deciding?!?) So make sure you already know what you want to order unless you will be pressured to pay for something you may not want! Will not be coming back here :/

Yum! If you're craving dim sum or some Asian comfort food, this is the place to go! They have a lot of traditional dim sum dishes that were all very tasty. It's right on State St and the prices are great. We had a mixture of dim sum and sushi and it was all very good.
The food was good. The service was okay. It was nice sitting outside on the closed out street.
This place seems to have an identity crisis. They have such a large menu trying to cover Chinese and Japanese cuisines. I ordered off their dim sum menu, and the food was mediocre. The area doesn't seem to have many options for dim sum so this would suffice, but there's definitely other places you can go for sushi and ramen.

This place is so delicious, I am so happy to have found such a delicious dim sum place. Definitely a must try if you like Asian food. I ordered a few different things any everything I ate was delicious! My favorite is the Shu Mai, second the juicy soup dumplings. The staff was delightful, I was greeted when I walked in and was checked on many time to make sure I was happy with everything! The atmosphere was chill, very pleasant and friendly. Judging food entirely off my SO who ate here with me having only tea. This review will be a bit different from my others in that I asked him to use a rating scale per item, due to mixed reviews below. Crab won ton: 7.5/10 Not best he's had, but solid. Korean BBQ tips: 8/10 Very good with a little room for improvement vs the myriad of other places he's tried over time. BBQ Dumplings: 6 to 7 out of 10 Good but he prefers another style of dumpling, not the dough-heavy ones. read more

When we got there it was completely dead, which we thought it was a good thing! but soon realize why it was dead. When the server came back my friend tried to change their order but the server told them it was already being cooked. Yum! If you're craving dim sum or some Asian comfort food, this is the place to go! They have a lot of traditional dim sum dishes that were all very tasty. It's right on State St and the prices are great. We had a mixture of dim sum and sushi and it was all very good. read more

As Christmas Day was approaching I decided that I would not cook my meal and I wanted Chinese delivered. My Siblings and my cousin Johnny from New Orleans had a Zoom Sibling Symposium plus one session. So much fun Now it's time to get my Chinese Food Asie fit the Bill close by and they deliver from the Restaurant. I would give this place a 0 if I could. First off, the cup I was served with lemonade was DIRTY, as seen in the picture below, and was clearly unwashed. There were also a cart of dirty dishes out in the open. I was so excited for the soup dumplings, but when we got them, they were just not good. They were slimy, hard to chew, and not tasty. The volcano roll and pan fried chicken dumplings were also bad. The cherry on top was that we heard so much gagging and coughing in the kitchen. The place was just so unhygienic, and we couldn't believe that it passed health inspection. Not even the food could make up for the dirtiness. We just took the check, paid and left. read more
This place looked promising as it offers dim sum all day. I happened to walked by last month when I was in town and noticed it. Fast forward to last night. Happened to Be in town again and made a pit stop on state street for dinner. Sunday night and long weekend, the area was pretty busy but not overly run. Getting a table was easy. We sat ourselves and waited fir the waiter. Just like all the restaurants now, scanners are the new norm. They still brought out a menu, smaller one. Think it was more of the happy hour. Speaking of happy hour, there was offered for drinks and ramen. Drinks was like buy one get one fifty percent off and ramen was buy one get one thirty percent off. I rarely leave a low star rating but some just doesn't seem up to par. First off, location wise is great. Right in the heart of Santa Barbara on state street. Which means, it's a big tourist trap. Also caters to a good amount of college kids. Like I mentioned earlier, they served dim sum all day so I had to give it a try. Food, was just ok. Seemed basically frozen and then warmed up. The ramen was a another issue. I understand some people like their noodles al dente but even sitting in the broth, it did not seem to soften up at all. The other dishes was just ok. Food wise, nothing really to rave about . Service was good though. Good atmosphere with the outdoor dining. Heat lamps are offered. There's plenty of people watching while dining as well as live music. Also, when the bill came, happy hour price for ramen wasn't taken off. Had to Let them know. read more
Came here for sushi and was a little skeptical because of all the bad reviews BUT! Our experience was excellent! The whole staff was super attentive and our food for to us fast. The sushi rolls were sooo good! The prices were decent and I would definitely come here again! read more

I am Chinese, I just wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant. Now I finally understand why there aren't any Asians eating in this restaurant. All the meals only looked like real Chinese food, in fact, only looked like Chinese food, I feel that this is not something for human beings to eat. I had dinner there about 20 minutes ago and now my stomach is already starting to ache. I feel like I've got food poisoning. Stay away from this place, trust me. read more

the experience was soo bad. i should have run out of this place after seeing no asian people around. food was absolutely terrible, terrible. how could a normal human being like this place? i am not a picky eater, but even i almost threw up eating the food. the tortillas for the pekín duck was raw, literally raw, the dough of the soup dumplings were tough, not soft at all. the beef chow mein was really oily and felt like plastic. trust me, never step a foot into this place if you dont wanna food poisoning!!! also, when we refused to tip our waitress because the food was atrocious, she just rolled her eyes and threw the plastic to-go bags at our table. wtf?weren't you suppose to say like we apologize we will do better next time? hundred dollars down the drain. read more
We arrived here around 3pm. State street is closed for a few blocks and restaurants have patios set up in the street. Lots of tables and umbrellas for most of the businesses We were looking for a snack and decided on dumplings. We walked up and we were seated quickly. Water and menus were brought out immediately. I decided to order a sake. They have happy hour so it's but one get one free, on the sake. We ordered a pork dumpling, pork Shu Mai and shrimp dumplings, Har Gow. The dumplings are served in little bamboo steamers. The pork was really good and had nice flavor. The shrimp dumplings were even better. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, the dumpling had almost like a soup texture inside. The shrimp were not overcooked, I wish we stayed for more of a meal but what we had was great and I'm sure we will return when we get back in the area. read more

The food was so bland and underwhelming. We got the chicken feet and it was sooo rubbery that my family refused to touch it after the first bite. The tonkatsu was so salty that my siblings were drinking cups of water after. The service was okay. It was empty in the restaurant with 2 patrons only and I see why. Don't eat here. Ordered some sushi & chicken & beef dumplings. We've definitely had better sushi but this isn't a sushi place, it's a dumpling place. The dumplings themselves were warm & filling, perfect for on a chilly afternoon on the patio. Price wise, not too bad either for a restaurant on State St. Would return. read more

Ate outside in outdoor seating for my first time dining at a restaurant in 4 months. The service was decent. They brought out hand sanitizer when asked so that was nice. The food-the green beans and lettuce cups were very very good. But the steamed spinach dumplings and shrimp rice rolls were terrible. They tasted like they steamed store bought frozen versions. For the chili oil wontons, they brought out chili oil dumplings, which in my opinion is not an acceptable substitution for a chinese restaurant. Only people who dont eat chinese food often would think dumplings and wontons are similar. They also completely forgot one of our dishes, despite it being a very short list of things we ordered, and we had to ask for it. But the experience itself sitting outside was nice, and kudos for offering outdoor service. If you come, stick to the lettuce cups and green beans. read more

I have to be honest and say that I've only tried the dumplings here, but I'm giving 5 stars because the service was attentive and order was super quick and I appreciate that they have vegetarian options. We like grabbing the dumplings as a snack to go with our drinks next door at red piano while we listen to live music on their patio! read more

This is the first genuinely authentic dumpling house I've ever been to, and I will be back again very soon. After grabbing lunch at a place nearby I saw this dumpling house and decided to order to go. I ordered the Shrimp Dumplings for myself and some Juicy Soup Dumplings for my partner, and some mango mochi ice cream for my sister. To no surprise at all, we were all very happy with what we ordered and our only regret was not dining it to enjoy the full experience. The sushi is about that standard price as anywhere else, but the dumplings were very cheap in my opinion but incredibly light, filled with flavor, and savory. The service was really quick and kind. And the interior of the restaurant was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, and I will come back to enjoy some more of their options. PS: I think people review this place too harshly, this isn't a Michelin star restaurant, this is a INCREDIBLY reasonably priced authentic asian food! And this place is a gem that is under appreciated by the community it is in. read more
