Thursday, 02/03/22... Starting at midnight, Winter Storm Landon disabled travel in Arkansas with rain, freezing-rain, sleet, and snow. That wintery mix and resulting road conditions caused most of the restaurants in Bryant, AR to not open. Fortunately, Asian House was near my hotel and they were open. KUDOS to the family that operates this restaurant for braving the weather conditions to open and serve their customers. So, I drove there and ordered enough food to get me through two days if necessary (Egg-Drop Soup, Hot & Sour Soup, General Tso Chicken, Brown Rice, Spring Roll, and Chili-Oil Sauce). WOW... Everything I ordered was OUTSTANDING!!! Both soups were Rich, spicy, thick, and packed with flavor. The General Tso Chicken was tender, savory, spicy, and the serving was generous. The Spring Roll was firm, crisp, and very tasty, but that Chili-Oil Sauce was the BOMB!!!! BTW... I LOVE Good Asian Food. Spicy Foods and that Chili-Oil Sauce took the whole meal Over-the-Top!!! There's not really a whole lot to say about this restaurant. I've never noticed it before so this was my first time here. I came with my mom and her friend. When you first walk in, it's hard to tell what to do as there aren't menus on the table or any sign that gives you instruction on if you seat yourself or someone seats you or if you order at the register. We were told to sit wherever we wanted after standing around awkwardly for a couple minutes. Ordering was simple. Food came pretty quick, both appetizer and entrées. Prices are steep for what you get, plus they're served on paper plates. You don't even get a normal dish. The plates are flimsy and I have concerns that someday someone will drop food in a customer's lap. Anyways the food wasn't anything special. I got the chicken lo mein and the noodles were good, could have used more sauce, but the chicken was so over cooked that it was dry and tough. I think it was boiled. My mom got the orange chicken and her friend got the moo goo gai pan which is a vegetable dish. They both advised to stay away from the fried rice. It's very bland and literally plain, it's just rice. They both recommended the crab Rangoons as they were light and well-stuffed; however, be advised that they do contain onions (and a lot of it). The restaurant is very plainly decorated. Some effort was put into it but not much. I also have concerns about the place being very dark as the lights inside weren't bright at all. This place is great for fast Asian food when no one can decide on what type. You can get pad Thai, pot stickers, mei fun, and sushi all under one roof. The sushi is not the best I've ever had but it is 7 out of 10 and for this type of fast Asian food place, that's pretty darn good. We usually get the shrimp mei fun, California roll, spring rolls, fried dumplings, beef and broccoli, and general tso's chicken. I've also had the sweet and sour soup and the Razorback roll. I have had it many times before from different places, so I thought this would be great. First off the picture of the curry chicken on their site is falls. The food do not even look that way. The curry chicken was bland no taste at all. Watery and had around 3 big onions cut in it. It was so bad I could not finish eating it and went to another place to get something to eat. This place is very decently priced and has a lot of different options. I tried the ribs appetizer. We got plenty for less than $7 (the small) and they were very tasty. I tried the Hot Mama Roll, which was disappointing. It was too large to eat in a bite, but only because there was sooo much rice. However, it was around $8, so a lot for your money. Finally, I tried the papaya salad and they warned it was spicy. I love a spicy papaya salad, but I ordered a 5/10 heat to be safe. This was soo spicy! I finished it, but barely. It was really good, though. Next time, I'll aim for a 3/10. read more

I used to always love Asian house. Good food, great portions. Then they got rid of the combos. My order of two chicken friend rice combos with egg rolls that was sub $20 is now over $35 to get the same thing. Egg rolls are about the half the size as well. Well... the kitchen is very fast. My order was out for delivery in less than 15 minutes. The food was... mixed... a bit bland and not entirely what I expected from the names. The yelp order menu could do with some descriptions. So working with what I got, which was not what I thought I was getting in this review. Apps- Crab Rangoon, A+ version, thin and crispy skins, savory filling, glowy red sauce. Yum! Dumplings with Garlic Sauce, B thick skins, filling was minimal, sauce was strongly flavored: garlicky, vinegary, and robust. Also very filling. It really could stand alone as a main. (The only strongly flavored thing in the whole order in the end) Chicken Satay, C+ plentiful chicken onna stick. Four skewers and nicely cooked with a faint hint of five spice, but when I order something called "satay" I expect spices and a peanut sauce, and nope, nada. Just roasted chicken onna stick. Okay, but Satay it ain't. So, Mains: Chicken Pad-Thai - D- for disappointing, frankly. No green onions, one half a peanut, and no fish sauce, no chili oil, no little Sakura dried shrimps, no fish paste. I get it. There are lots of ingredients and here in Arkansas the denizens may not be too receptive to "authentic" Pad-Thai, but if you dumb it down THIS much, they are never going to learn what it is supposed to taste like either. There are many opportunities to make Pad Thai wrong. This iteration took almost all of them IMO. Coconut Shrimp - C is for confusion. Ergo the dish was not what I expected. The dish that I got is called Walnut Shrimp or Mayo Shrimp by essentially everyone else that serves it, not Coconut Shrimp. Coconut shrimp should have... well... coconut in it. Like the breading of fried shrimp should have coconut in it. I'm not sure what part of the dish was the coconut part but I never tasted it. Had I ordered Mayo shrimp, I would have been really pleased with what I got. Big fat shrimp and lots of them in a nice mayo sauce plus rice. Super good, just not what I thought I was ordering. Tempura Love - D. Now, in all fairness, this was a mistake on my part. I thought I was ordering the dish above this and missed. I also failed to read over my order before confirmation. My mistake entirely. Owning that... I got Tempura... and, well... tempura isn't good for delivery and it really isn't good in sealed containers with no steam vents. It was soggy. Even considering a lightning fast kitchen (it was out for delivery in 13 minutes) and speeding delivery(my driver had to be breaking the law on how fast they got here. Serious, kudos to the driver. Like on two wheels in the corners fast. I was shocked.) it was still soggy. Why didn't they put it in a oiled paper bag like they did for the crab Rangoons? They arrived perfectly crisp. Tempura (which is even more fragile) in a sealed plastic dish. Why? Why would you do that? Like, presentation be damned. Fried stuff should be CRISPY! Total fail on the crunch side. Ugh.. So overall, it was iffy. Partly because of my mistaken order, but also partly because of odd menu wording, of really dumbed down cooking and of bad take out container choices. I'll try again. Firstly, I must say I was bummed when Desi Den, the former tenant of this space, closed their doors. They were a real gem. Thankfully another new, non-chain and interesting eatery opened. I've ordered takeout from Asian House a few times and haven't been disappointed. I always initially judge Chinese places on three things, pork, hot and sour soup and egg rolls. Thus far I've eaten pork in four different dishes and it was all great. Tonight I had the boneless ribs and they were honestly the best I've had. Just the right Asian barbecue flavor accentuated by that taste of a pig many of us crave. The thing about these were they were amazingly tender. I won't be flossing three times tonight to remove traces of the industry standard pork jerkey boneless ribs. Kudos Asian House. The hot and sour soup had all the standard ingredients we need and was hugely tasty. My only quibble is it needs a little more heat. Nothing a dash of siracha didn't fix. I must say I don't love the egg rolls. I think a pork egg roll should be a little more "porkie." My wife doesn't eat four legged animals and her vegetable spring rolls were great. After all this snacking I still found room for my beef and Chinese vegetables. I've never understood why we American's haven't incorporated more Chinese style beef, just like this, into to our food. It was pretty great and now I feel like I need to pop. Other dishes I've tried are sweet and sour chicken, chicken with string beans, roast pork with garlic sauce, beef with broccoli, wonton soup and probably one or three more. They have all been great. I'm happy Bryant has a new choice for Chinese food. I often crave chinese but rarely eat it because there just aren't any stand out options around us. I hope Asian House gets popular enough to offer delivery, that would be perfect. read more

The new Chinese food spot in Bryant AR (near Bakers Jewelry, across from Subway, west of Reynolds Road on the first street past Walgreen's) is AWESOME. I reactivated my Yelp! account just so I could post a review. The restaurant smelled fantastic when I went to pick up my to-go order (was ready exactly when they said it'd be). The whole house is raving about how great everything tasted. This will definitely become our family's new Chinese food haunt -- can't wait to try more on the menu. We tried Asian House for the first time this evening. We dined in and were not disappointed. Between us all we had the egg rolls, crab rangoons, chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken, and the chicken with garlic sauce. We also tried the volcano roll which was HUGE and delicious. The prices and food were great. They were very busy but very attentive to us. We never had an empty glass and once we ordered, our food came out quickly. They were very friendly. We even got a free order of dumplings! We will most certainly be back and would recommend this place to everyone read more

I ordered two things of orange chicken and two things of lo mein online. I went in to pick it up and added a hot and sour soup to the order. I was charged the correct amount of $31.49. The lady hands me the bag of food and I drive 20 minutes back to my house. When I got home she had given me the wrong order. I tried calling up there 7 or 8 times. They finally answered and made it seem like it was my fault that I got the wrong food. I drive 20 minutes all the way back to exchange the food and she tells me I need my credit card so she can charge me. I had already paid. Even though she has the receipt right in front of her she continues to argue with me. She FINALLY understands that I was correct about already paying for the correct order. At this point it's been about an hour since I had ordered my food and I asked if they could make it fresh. She told me it had just come out.
