And everything came out in a timely manner. I savored every single bite because ohhhmyyy. The tuna crudo was refreshing. Paired with the coconut milk cilantro sauce?! Their firecracker shrimp was HOT and crispy. Not spicy, hot in temperature. I ordered their teres major steak medium rare, and oooooh boy. That was some tender steak. The lighting for my desert wasn't the best but their matcha panna cotta was fine! Not sure I'd order it again though. I was solo so I can't say much about the noise level.

After hearing so much about it, I ventured to try Yao's and it didn't disappoint. We didn't have a reservation and it worked out because it wasn't too busy. We were welcomed and seated right away. The menu has a bit of small and larger plates to share. Since it was kind of late we decided for the smaller plates to try a little bit of everything. We ordered the chili wontons, D's Dumplings, firecracker shrimp and tuna crudo. Everything was delicious and was enough for three people. We also ordered the same cocktail each, the Shanghai Noon. Very refreshing. The ambiance at the restaurant was great, not too loud or quiet. This is foodie gen in Oviedo, specially when smaller towns are filled with chains.

The atmosphere definitely has a more upscale, elevated feel, but the prices are still surprisingly reasonable. I actually came more for the drinks than the food since I had already eaten, and the drinks were both adorable and delicious! Definitely worth ordering if you stop by. But honestly, the staff are what made my experience so memorable. I was sitting at the bar playing Pokémon GO when one of the staff members noticed and started chatting with me about it. I found out that all of the staff play too, and after we talked for a bit, they surprised me by giving me a Pokémon card to match my drink! It was such a small and thoughtful gesture, but it genuinely made my night. You can tell the staff really know how to connect with their customers and make the experience feel personal. The shrimp and crab gyouza was a delicious pairing and it came with small tomatoes and a drizzle of a sauce that was good. The beef bulgogi was the winner for us. My wife and I both truly enjoyed the wontons with chili oil dish and believe it was possibly one of the best dumpling meals we've ever had. My wife's final comment was that she could drink the wonton sauce. It was so delicious. My wife truly enjoyed the shrimp with peanut sauce, shaved coconut, shiitake mushrooms, as well as scallions and noodles. It was both flavorful and full-bodied flavor. The Beef Xi'am Noodle dish while spicy was extremely delicious. Full flavors with small bite-size pieces of beef, Napa cabbage, homemade wide noodles., gai lan, hot chili oil. Saw others get their table, but it seemed like ours was taking a while. Inquired after waiting another 20 minutes and they said they must have have forgotten to print our ticket, but we were promptly seated afterward. Table and scene are nice. We put in for our appetizers and got our dumplings and ribs. They were great! But we had to grab with our fingers (luckily not too hot) while signaling for utensils or chopsticks. Got a "they're good to eat with hands" when I inquired about utensils. The rest of the meal was excellent. My MIL and wife got the peking duck, which they said was the moist and tender duck they've eaten. I had the BYO of fish and roll (9 nigri and 1 roll). All were great! My daughter had the shrimp tempura roll, which was also good. We did need to ask for soy sauce because we are accustomed to having some, but may not be needed for purist. Overall, the food was great and the atmospere was fine. I was disappointed with the service because this was our last night meal and the service really could have made this a memorable send off meal. Excited to know it was a Michelin star restaurant and even more excited to know it Morimoto- a huge Iron Chef fan! We order an Uzu margarita- so fresh and bright! Hot and sour soup as an appetizer- made with duck broth- need I say more?!?! Spare ribs that were flash fried and served in a spicy teriyaki sauce- we could have locked the plate (but we were at a Michelin star restaurant so we didn't). The meat was so flavorful and savory- the jones just pulled out of the meat. Awesome! We followed that with a Morimoto special yellowfin dish that he used on Iron Chef. It is made tableside with a hot stone bowl (to cook the fish) and mix and egg yolk and rice together. The fish is only cooked on one side and is left slightly raw on the other- so tasty! Our server was good. He gave great references and recommendations. The atmosphere was pretty. Lots more f bling and pics of Morimoto. The bathrooms were so clean and covered in black subway tile to the ceiling! Interesting experience. The walls of the bathroom were also covered in pics of him (in the ladies room) and his wife (in the men's) haha! For all of the food and drinks we paid less than $100. That was amazing. Whenever we come back to Orlando, we will be at this restaurant!! What a wonderful experience!

Sunda New Asian | Where Great Food Meets Exceptional Hospitality…read more Some restaurants are great for dinner. Others understand how to make an occasion feel special. Sunda New Asian consistently delivers both! I hosted a birthday dinner for my friend Star at Sunda, and once again, the experience reminded me why this restaurant has become one of my go-to choices for celebrating special occasions. From the very beginning, the reservation process was seamless. Booking in advance was easy, and the team was accommodating in providing a large table that comfortably suited our party's needs. As someone who frequently plans and hosts group experiences, I cannot overstate how much I appreciate a restaurant that understands the importance of logistics AND hospitality. I arrived ahead of our reservation to personalize the table with signage, party favors, and a few special touches for the birthday girl. The hostess and service team were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the setup. Once our guests arrived, the hospitality continued. Water glasses were filled, orders were taken, and the staff remained attentive to our group throughout the evening. Even the manager, Ron, stopped by to personally greet our guest of honor, Star. Such a simple gesture, but one that added a thoughtful touch to her celebration! And of course, the food and cocktails? AMAZING! Sunda continues to impress with its delicious cuisine and beautifully executed drinks. The dining experience felt elevated without being stuffy, which is exactly the atmosphere I love for a celebratory dinner. Another detail worth mentioning? The waitstaff happily took group photos for us! Anyone who has ever hosted a birthday dinner knows how important it is to capture those memories, and I appreciated their willingness to help us document the occasion. Here's the real testament to my experience: This is the SECOND birthday dinner I've hosted at Sunda. And that's intentional. When I'm selecting a restaurant for a special event, I'm considering far more than the menu. I want great food, an inviting atmosphere, reliable service, accommodating staff, and the confidence that my guests will be well taken care of. Sunda has delivered on those expectations twice. My recommendation: If you're planning a birthday dinner, girls' night out, intimate celebration, or group dining experience and want a restaurant that pairs excellent Asian cuisine with attentive hospitality, Sunda New Asian deserves a spot on your shortlist. Final verdict: Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, thoughtful service, and a team that understands the art of hosting. Sunda, thank you for helping make Star's birthday memorable. I'll absolutely be back for celebration number three! 5/5 -- A repeat favorite for special occasions!
