A good selection of the stables at Chinese buffet. Very reasonable price for dinner. Not much for sushi offerings besides a variation of California rolls. A lot more American food available. Like the fact that you get your own drink and so my kid was able to eat a little more food before filling up on liquids. I like that they have horchata, tamarind and pineapple juice available. Was there for a birthday event. Loved the variety of foods and desserts, especially the self service ice cream and self serve beverages , which the children especially loved. Restrooms are concerning for people with mobility issues as its up several steps, and should be updated as it seems rather untidy . Overall cleanliness of the out of date atmosphere takes 1 star away from my rating. read more

Worst buffet I've been to. We decided to venture off from our usual since we were in the area and this place had good reviews. Paid $44 for two people. Which I think is overpriced for what you get. The food is bland and mediocre, even the noodles were bland. The sushi had nothing but cream cheese avocado and crab, that's it. All 5 or so different rolls. Sure there's a variety of fried food but I came for the meat. There were NO pork or beef options. Even their black pepper had chicken only. Not to mention, there was a guy inside the women's bathroom just casually in there acting like he was in his very own family room. And I might be wrong but an employee saw it and didn't say a word. I was once a fan of this place many years ago, in fact we were regulars and we were one of the first families to go there when it opened I believe in 1997, but that was then and this is now. Not the cleanest of Buffets any longer. I mean, you have kids as young as 3 serving themselves and putting food back (umm that's where I draw the line). I just don't get how parents let their kids run amuck inside an establishment anyway. Just doesn't make sense. Although it has been "remodeled" it really doesn't matter. If the food is brought out in little heaps and they wait till people are scraping the containers than I think we have a problem Houston! Hack: Sweet and sour soup: Get a cup and add sweet and sour soup. Then add rice vermicelli to the soup and/or lo mien. Fire! Hack: For crispy hot wings just grab a crispy wing and dip it in the hot sauce wing side. That way you don't get the rubbery texture from wings that have been sitting in the hot sauce for a while. Hack: Add dumpling sauce to your rice/lo mien/rice vermicelli with you choice of soy sauce and/or sriracha sauce. YOU GOT TO TRY THE DUMPLING SAUCE BY ITSELF TO UNDERSTAND HOW BOMB IT IS. This is my fav Buffett. Never had a bad experience, food is always great and the tables are always clean- never sticky. It's super busy during The Weekends so make sure to go during the week unless you want to wait 20-30 for a table. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because the most recent time I went, the food was just warm and not hot. Which can be dangerous if you pick the wrong food group. My limited time working at the new office in sunny Scottsdale (not AZ) has proven a couple of things. 1) Suburbia has spilled back into this southwestern strip of the city along Cicero Ave. with all of the chain stores and strip malls leading all the way down to Southwest Highway. 2) The people in the area are very nice in general. 3) If you are looking for buffet heaven away from the bright lights of Vegas, you can't do much better than Scottsdale. Now I haven't tried any other buffets other than this one (there are seemingly about 10 of them in this small area), but if the others are nearly as good, then my preconceived notions about poor quality of food at buffets here in Chicago should be thrown out the door. Here you will get a very American version of Chinese food, along with a hodge-podge of other American buffet staples like mac 'n cheese, chicken fingers, pizza and so forth. The thing about this place is that their dishes are consistently pretty good! Considering the cost involved (about $8 for lunch) and that they offer a lot of different kinds of seafood, I think it is a great deal. The prawns are a great deal in themselves. If you like tearing into the whole-bodied prawns and can't get enough of them- come here. For $8 you can gorge yourself on as many as you can handle! read more

Traditional fare but a few things worth mentioning: - wonton soup - mussels in black bean sauce - onion prawns - gigantic and whole (yep, with the head. Love tearing them apart!) and most of all, perfectly cooked. This place has some good food, but it's really dirty. There are these cleaning stations around the whole buffet and it makes me lose my appetite. The bathrooms are terrible! There is graffiti on the bathroom door and stall walls. Sometimes I don't even want to go to the bathroom because it's so gross. They really need to clean the place up or I won't come anymore. And the place they put their cups for you drinks is nasty. I personally think that they don't give a good cleaning on there silver wear, cups and plates, and their service for the food is so slow I can't believe it. Update! Today my companion and I were joined by an uninvited guest--a COCKROACH crawled along the wall toward our table. Needless to say, we left quickly--roaches out in broad daylight indicate a huge problem with pest control. Worse, we notified the cashier, who just shrugged and said "Sorry." Obviously we were not the first people to have this appetite-killing experience. I can no longer recommend this restaurant. Too bad. Update to the update: I let the restaurant know that I posted the above caveat, and the manager called me right away, apologizing profusely. She explained that the place was just treated for pests and that sometimes, immediately after insecticide is applied, roaches emerge from their hiding places. I know that's true, according to my friends in the pest control business. She also offered to comp my friend and me lunches on our next visit. I doubt I will be returning, because I don't think I will ever be able to eat without worrying about their "problem," and maybe I should have insisted on a refund. But I think she was sincerely upset and tried to make restitution, which is what counts. I guess the lesson for the manager is that people can and will tell others about their experiences, and it will reflect, for better or worse, on their business. Therefore, it's important to train employees to handle this sort of complaint. And the lesson for me is, the next time something like this happens--go to the manager/owner on site ASAP and politely explain the problem. The cashier's reaction was almost as off-putting as the actual roach. Yech. read more

Was a fan of this place for years, but the last two times have found low food temperature and old food on the line. This was our first time going to this restaurant. We only decided to go because of such good reviews. Once we set down to eat...the food was partially warm, the rice and orange chicken had an after taste. My kids had pizza and Mac n cheese...you would think a restaurant couldn't go wrong with that but they did. 5 hrs after eating from there we all got sick...my kids had diarrhea and was throwing up, I had a terrible stomach ache with diarrhea.
