Bev is an awesome teacher as she focuses on a different part of the body each week so it never gets boring. This is mindfulness yoga so she emphasizes centering, a calm mind, and listening to your body so you don't go beyond your edge. She's great at responding to individual needs to perfect a pose and provide props. Class sizes are very small (max size is 4) so you get lots of individual attention. Cultivate Harmony may be the yoga you've been wishing for too.

My absolutely favorite yoga studio! I joined CorePower when I moved to Denver 2 years ago and I…read morealways look forward to coming to class here! They have such a great variety of classes from Vinyasas "C2", to traditional hot yoga, to yoga sculpt which is a cardio-light weight lifting class, they have a class for every type of yoga I'm looking to do. I love that all of the classes are heated to some degree, allowing me to get deeper into poses and rinse out toxins. It is also awesome that every class includes an ab workout - I had never realized how critical strong abs are to improving your yoga practice before joining here. Since joining, I have made leaps and bounds in my ability to do inversions and arm balances which I essentially had no idea how to do before I joined such as crow pose, side crow, headstand, forearm stand, headstand, hurdle, peacock, and headstand! The teachers are top notch and are so helpful in walking you through new "peak poses". I like how the C2 classes are designed to build upon different poses that get you geared up to learn a new peak pose at the end. The studios at this location are really really wonderful - they have a huge second floor studio with a wall that is all windows where you can get gorgeous sunrises and sunsets depending on the class time! Also, the teachers are great at giving you a thought to ponder before class to center yourself and get into the meditative aspect of yoga. You also can't beat the savasana meditation at the end of a hard class which includes a cool lemon-lavender cloth gently placed over your eyes. My favorite teachers are Jill P., Katrina, and Danielle, although all of the teachers here are excellent! The membership is totally worth it - I think of it as a gym membership and a therapy membership all in one! ;-)

But to have an instructor using profanity to motivate students- was a bit much for me. It was my first time in Kerry's class and I have to say it was a complete turnoff. Yelling at students "F that shit up" and "Let that shit go" can't be apart of the training she received to be an instructor. I am still very shocked that this is acceptable behavior. Judging by looking around the room, others felt the same way. It was terrible-is this what yoga has turn into??

I would like to suggest that Black people looking for a yoga studio at which to take classes…read moreconsider going elsewhere. I was on the waiting list for a restorative yoga class, and often if someone doesn't show up, by the time the waitlisted people are notified, it's too late to get there on time. So I decided to just drive down there and see if there were any vacancies. The teacher who was set to lead the class was extremely rude and basically told me to leave. Although everyone who signed up showed up for the class, there was clearly enough room to fit in another person, and I was there plenty early and no one would have needed to rearrange their mats for me to fit in. Besides being snippy and very disresptectful in telling me to leave, she also stood in the lobby area and watched me as I was putting on my shoes. She said that was because people have taken the items for sale from there. I was in such disbelief that I contacted the studio owner about what I perceived to be behaior based on race. I could not have been more shocked when the studio owner then responded to me by telling me that she had contacted the teacher about this incident and the teacher said she was not a racist. I will definitely never go there again.
