But to have an instructor using profanity to motivate students- was a bit much for me. It was my first time in Kerry's class and I have to say it was a complete turnoff. Yelling at students "F that shit up" and "Let that shit go" can't be apart of the training she received to be an instructor. I am still very shocked that this is acceptable behavior. I was on the waiting list for a restorative yoga class, and often if someone doesn't show up, by the time the waitlisted people are notified, it's too late to get there on time. So I decided to just drive down there and see if there were any vacancies. The teacher who was set to lead the class was extremely rude and basically told me to leave. Although everyone who signed up showed up for the class, there was clearly enough room to fit in another person, and I was there plenty early and no one would have needed to rearrange their mats for me to fit in. Besides being snippy and very disresptectful in telling me to leave, she also stood in the lobby area and watched me as I was putting on my shoes. She said that was because people have taken the items for sale from there. I was in such disbelief that I contacted the studio owner about what I perceived to be behaior based on race. I could not have been more shocked when the studio owner then responded to me by telling me that she had contacted the teacher about this incident and the teacher said she was not a racist. I will definitely never go there again.
