After working in retail for most of my life, it was a breath of fresh air to walk into a furniture and not be "stalked" throughout the store or overwhelmed by a barrage of questioning. I recently moved and am in need of a few key pieces. I never shopped with Ashley previously. I was greeted upon entering the store by Alex Quaglieri. I had been out all day and after finding nothing, being pecked at by sales associates throughout the Lehigh Valley, and feeling defeated; entering the Whitehall showroom was like entering a world of peace. I explained to him that I did not want help and I would find him if I had any questions. I explained how all day I was basically poached and after shopping with my mother and 2 year old the last thing I wanted was to be overwhelmed anymore. The showroom was visually merchandised beautifully and made you envision the pieces in your home, the showroom gave you a warm feeling versus just walking around a warehouse with furniture shoved around. Alex was super understanding and gave me information about their current sale happening and told me he was linger around. Alex was close enough every time I had any questions, but not pushy. He gave me a great amount of information about the products I was looking at and was extremely personable and listened to what I needed. I did not make a purchase yesterday, but when I do purchase I will be calling Alex and giving Ashley Furniture my business. Bought a sofa at the Whitehall Ashley Furniture Store. Upon trying to find a delivery date was given the response that couldn't give me one until cooperate would let them know (they never got a date but promised to call the 1 day before delivery-super hard to coordinate with life). After continued lack of results (7 days) we decided to cancel our order they would not let us so we had to call our credit card to dispute the charge. We will deny the delivery and not accept the merch. This item was a full price item, not on sale, and this store was not accepting that I changed my mind on the purchase. We are frustrated with an issue with a Sealy mattress I purchased at Ashley Furniture in Whitehall Pennsylvania. The mattress was expensive and was approximately $1,500. Almost immediately I was uncomfortable and noticed a concave depression in the mattress, and I registered a complaint with Ashley. They were very reluctant and deceptive to deal with the situation I was referred to several different people a manager was never available. The secretary who was helping me was no longer available and didn't follow through. I called Sealy and was told I must go through the store the mattress was bought from. Again, I hit a brick wall with Ashley and got the run around again. After 2 of dealing with customer service, Ashley finally said they would send out a furniture inspector, but I needed to pay $150 to inspect this faulty mattress. I was so uncomfortable, and the depression was so obvious I paid for the inspection. The inspector acknowledged that there was a 6 inch depression in the mattress and reported that back to Ashley. Ashley never got back to me, so I had to go again through customer service and I was again ignored. Finally, customer service said that the mattress defect did not meet warranty standards and nothing could be done. At this point we are over 2 years into our complaint. I asked for a copy of the inspection report and was told it was against company policy to give it out (don't. know why, I paid for it). I asked to speak to a supervisor, but none was available and was told someone would call me. I never received any calls or followup. I am being completely ignored. Repeated calls go to voicemail with no response. After reading other reviews on this site are almost identical to our problem. This appears to be a systemic problem with Ashley Furniture. If you are unlucky enough to buy a defective mattress (or any other type of furniture) from Ashley furniture, you are stuck! You should not buy anything from Ashley furniture as they do not stand behind their products. read more

One the delivered chair that I ordered is broken. It wasn't checked before it left their factory. I returned the chair only. Then, after 5 calls asking when I could have the chair, I still did not get an answer. The agent always tell me that I will get a call after 48 to 72hrs but no one ever called me. Almost a month now, I still don't have my chair. It is very disappointing. One star is for the store sales guy who is very detailed and helpful. I don't feel like buying my next furniture in Ashley again if I will not get my chair on the 15th of July. Exactly 1 month. read more

Update: the couch did indeed not fit in our townhouse after we explained the dims we needed to get this up the stairs. Measurements are important! We were not able to get the long sofa portion of our sectional into our living room, it says it's 92" where it's actually 93" and some change. We called Ashleys and requested the opposite side chaise dropped off since it's smaller than the sofa and have the sofa picked up. At first we were told we'd have to pay $300 for a delivery and pick up fee, which is insane since we are requesting a smaller piece of furniture delivered. Greg the manager is working with us to get us the chaise dropped off and the sofa picked up with the fees waived. We are thankful that Ashley's has reasonable managers like Greg who can see why paying $300 for a smaller piece of furniture would upset a customer. I was ready to send the whole couch back and ask for a refund, but Greg really made me feel valued and heard. Thank you Greg for your outstanding customer service! I hope to not have to leave another review because the fees did not get waived, but I will keep Yelp posted on Ashley's value in their customer's satisfaction with their service and products. read more

Both the sales associate and store manager were extremely condecending and rude. They refused to give us a copy of their itemized quote, accused my wife and I of lying about a different store's offer, and insinuated that we were somehow acting immorally because we were trying to compare prices. The manager then said that he was perfectly fine with us taking our business elsewhere. I did take my business elsewhere, and I will continue to do so moving forward. I am a long time customer, having spent thousands of dollars at this store over the course of two decades, but I will not subject myself, my family, or my friends to being treated in such a manner. I highly reccomend that you shop elsewhere! I will NEVER go back. read more

We were at the store looking at some living room furniture and after haggling over prices between Raymour and Flanigan prices and theirs on the same item my wife notices their sale paper which states it's 65% off. Wow, what a waste of time. In the end we purchased a tv stand and then later I find it online on the Ashley web site for over $100 cheaper. The whole pricing scheme is a scam with the percentages off pricing. They are jacked up so high that you aren't saving squat. Will be calling for refund today on that stand. read more

The furniture may look somewhat nice but it will not last, you might as well go to walmart and buy yourself furniture from there. This is the second review of the same store and delivery of mine previous order. If you read my last review you would know that I did not receive my couch and they rescheduled me a month out. Today is delivery day. Or so I thought. I was scheduled for 3 to 7 PM for delivery. At 6:30 PM I was told it would be between 830 and 9:30 PM. It is 8:40 PM I just received a phone call saying my couch would not be delivered. This has been one of the worst delivery experiences I have ever had. I was told that customer service will be reaching out to me. I advise you to not shop at the store.It really does not make sense to me. If I failed to do my job I get fired. Initially when we walked in, no one even greeted us or asked if we needed help, nor could we even locate a sales associate to help us. After we wandered, the piece we wanted wasn't in the store, so we decided to have them order it. Initially, they honored the 10% off coupon that was online, but then reneged and said they couldn't do that. Also, the store manager was extremely rude to me when I was questioning why the price was changing. Also, having minimums for different levels of financing is really annoying, especially when online, it says there are no minimums. Hopefully we really love this sectional, because I feel like dealing with returning it will be a giant headache if it comes to that. read more

we ordered and paid for a sofa in October 2020, as of today (March 5, 2021) it has not been delivered; we were scheduled for delivery March 3 between 3 and 7 PM but as of 9 no delivery. We called the store several times between 7 and 8 PM to find out what was going on but only got a recorded message providing store hours. We gave up and went to bed. The next morning we found an automated voice message on our iphone that the delivery attempted at 10:15 PM. We had no idea because we were asleep. I ordered 6 dining chairs, on September 8. They promised it will be delivered by November 1st. I called them at the beginning of November and they said it's delayed and it will be delivered around November 22. Well, it was Thanksgiving time and I invited friends over hoping that I will receive my dining chairs by November 26. On November 24, I called Ashley's Furniture again and they said it's delayed, and it will definitely be delivered by November 28. My guests and I had use counter chairs, an office chair, and a piano bench!!! So it's November 28...No one called to schedule a delivery. I'm calling them again on December 1. The representative is saying that my items will be delivered on DECEMBER 20! Note, there was no guarantee again! I was pissed off! If only I knew that they would lie to me over and over again. Anyway, I canceled my order and ordered THE SAME EXACT CHAIRS from Wayfair and they were delivered in 3 days!!!! Conclusion: Don't waste your time! Order from Wayfair or Amazon! I'm giving 2 stars because the rep who cancelled my order was nice to me, and I received a refund writhing 48 hours. read more

The manager of this store Greg Gentry is rude, unpolite and it seems that he is not aware that customer service is essential for any business, unfortunately when the person that leads a store behaves like he does, it is difficult for the rest of the store to provide any good customer service, from the buying experience, delivery, issues with orders, etc. They have very bad policies for exchange, cancellation, delivery, repairs, nothing that will ensure the Customer satisfaction but only to protect their sales numbers. Update to prior review: Ashley furniture provided me a replacement rail and although I'd have liked someone to come and install it I was just happy that I would have a complete bed to sleep in. However, when I took the mattress and boxspring off I found that when the rail cracked it had caused a piece of wood to splinter off of the headboard so I wasn't able to attach the new rail. I also found the middle slat and attached leg had both cracked. The protective pad at the bottom of the leg was no longer on the floor, the actual leg was against the floor and caused gouges in my hardwood. I've posted pictures of all three legs showing the two whole (unbroken) legs caused no damage to my floor, so clearly the broken leg caused the damage. The customer service rep confirmed I've only had the bed about 5 months. It seems they think these beds are disposable and its common to buy a new bed every 6 months or so. They also said I saw the floor model, I knew what I was getting. I'm not a carpenter. I bought this with good faith that they would make and sell a product that would last at least a few years. To be fair, they did offer to replace the broken pieces, but I don't want a bed that they aren't even surprised only lasted a few months. They clearly knew this was a piece of junk. I asked several times for a refund on JUST the bed, but was told no each time. I spent about $3000.00 at that store in one day. And all I want is the refund for the bed. That's all. I'm still happy with the rest of my furniture. I'm absolutely broken hearted to the point of almost tears on the phone with customer service about my floor that my grandfather put in in 1949 and has little in the way of damage until now. Honestly, I don't know how this company and its employees sleep at night. I'm so angry, but even more than that I'm sad and disappointed. I went to Ashley on January 3rd. I was assisted by a wonderful gentleman, hence the one star in my review. He was very helpful and I chose a wonderful 3 piece sectional with an ottoman. I paid for the couch and was told "up to 12 weeks for delivery due to the pandemic". Ok, no problem, I get that. Things may be backed up for a while. 3 months is a while to wait, but for my furniture, that's ok. I started calling the store about 3 weeks ago checking for updates. Each time I was given a new estimated date of arrival on the furniture. A day after each of those dates I would call back to see what progress had been made, only to be given a new date of arrival. My last call was on April 5th (I was told it would be in by then) and was told that my furniture would arrive by the 8th. I called today, the 9th, and was told "any day now. It could be any day from today through the 14th". At this point I asked for a refund and was told to come into the store. I called corporate and had to call twice as they send you to voicemail after 15 minutes. On hold for almost 30 minutes in total and the woman could not find my order (isn't this supposed to be a corporate number?). She then gave me a phone number of another store to try. I called them and was informed that each Ashley is independently owned and operated and I would have to go through my store. Both the corporate number and other number saw no reason why my order could not be canceled over the phone. Up until the point where they could not find my order, they were going to do so. I called my store back. Got voicemail 3 times until I finally called back and reached a sales associate. I asked them why it is not possible to refund over the phone and she said I have to be in store (I live 35 minutes from the store). When I asked to speak to the manager, he was very short and curt with me. In no way was my order going to be refunded over the phone due to liability purposes and that I have to be in store with my card. I questioned this as I had already bought my furniture and they should have my information to cancel and was told "you have bought nothing yet"....well sir, that does not explain the two thousand dollar charge to my card that you were happy to take on January 3rd, now does it? Clearly I purchased something, but was never provided with the product. As this seems to be the only Ashley incapable of refunding via telephone, I will be driving to the store to get every cent of my purchase back. Buyers beware. Not sure why the reviews for this store are on the low side. We bought a sofa and 2 recliners about a year ago and still love them. We were shopping for another room in our home and decided to go back. We met with Kodi, the salesman, and he helped answer all of our questions without a hard sale of any kind. It takes a little while to check out, probably because they double check everything to ensure the order is correct, but other than that, the people are friendly and the prices are competitive. Everyone working at the store was very nice but do not get duped. At the store their prices are outrageous and they make it seem like they're haggling with their manger to give you a better price, don't fall for it. We wanted to buy a living room set we found at the store but it was expensive so we took a few days to decide. During that time we went onto their website and found the whole set $1,500 cheaper. When we went to the store to inquiry about this and ask them to price match, well I never heard such bs in my life. They said that it is a third party that sells the furniture online even though it's Ashley furniture's website and you can't get the insurance (we didn't want it anyway) and that the delivery is unreliable and they dump your furniture on the curb. That was not true at all. We ordered every piece online and the deliver service was great. They came on time and even helped us set it up. It is ridiculous that Ashley furniture would make their prices so much cheaper online and then force their salespeople to try to suck you into paying double or triple. I gave them two stars only because of their employees. They were very nice and patient and a salesman who was not ours still took the time to explain the set to us. Even if you buy at the store you still need to get the furniture delivered and pay for it so save yourself a lot of money and shop online. read more

So sorry that I purchased here. Ordered a dining room set. Table delivered was damaged. Server was not put together properly by delivery company. Fast forward 2 months since my purchase. Still waiting for replacement table. Repair order for server has taken almost 6 weeks. 2 appointments cancelled by them after I cleared my schedule to be home for them. Still trying to get another appointment. I purchased protection plans too. Hopefully I never have to use them because I know it will be a huge headache. read more

We paid quite a bit to get a sofa from Ashley. We were excited to have a nice new sofa and ottoman. We received it and first they sent the a love seat instead of a sofa. That had to be sent back and wait another week or 2 for the correct one. After a couple months I started noticing the sofa sitting lower and lower. The supports inside were giving way. Noticed staples holding the wood together. At this point our brand new sofa middle was resting flat on the floor with the ends still up about 4 inches higher than the center. The one armrest is was loose as well. After many phone calls the secondary company that does the repairs came out and fixed the issue. Now we are just over a year out from when we purchased the sofa and the other side of the couch is loose and pulling apart. they won't do anything to repair the sofa now that it's over a year even though we've had problems since very early into ownership. When you pay this kind of money you expect quality craftsmanship. I do NOT RECOMMEND buying anything from Ashley. I am welcome to pay them to come out and fix it. Side not we purchased the extended warranty from them that was very expensive as well. Just so you know it doesn't cover if your sofa falls to pieces only if you stain it. Beware buying anything from the Ashley furniture store in Whitehall I bought a bed there and it didn't accommodate my adjustable frame which the sales person told me it would we try to return it and they told us that someone had to come from the repair's department to look at it 1st we waited a week no one called I called back I told them I just wanted to return it and they said that the time for returning it is over now if we had 3 days to return it they would not let us return it but said we could purchase Something in exchange for the bed couldn't find anything So my husband had to cut the bed apart underneath to accommodate the adjustable frame it was awful all the work he had to do to accommodate the adjustable frame And thank goodness he could do it but he shouldn't have to have done that they should have returned it like their policy said! This store is ridiculous! I purchased a sofa from this location and was delivered a broken sofa. Was not even a week in the home when noticing the sofa was delivered to me broken. Called they had sent me to customer service who did not contact me back in over a week. I had to go into the store to get an answer which still left me with no results!! They said they would send me out a new one to get me out of the store! When I get home customer service finally returns my call and says they have ordered the parts and having a tech come fix the problem which should of never been a problem due to it being brand new! As I'm waiting now for over a week still no call from a tech to schedule an appointment and now no home visits. They do not call to inform me due to lock down no one will be visiting homes I have to call in once again for an answer !! They are so unprofessional and careless !!!! read more

This is my second review because I have never had such a poor customer service experience. In my original review I described numerous cluster screwups, but now I think they are just jerking me around. On November 4 I got another call from their "guest services" asking me to send FOR THE FIFTH TIME photos of the damage. I told them I'd fix it myself because I wasn't sending anymore pics. A short while later, I got another call saying someone would personally come to view the damage and remedy the problem. I repeat, this was on November 4. Pretty sure no one is coming. read more

Greg the manager at the Whitehall, PA location was very nice when he needed to make a sale however when there was an issue with our delivery he wiped his hands clean. I am aware that he does not handle delivery issues but it's only human to show empathy and not be condescending to clients. My mom had a delivery scheduled yesterday and never received her furniture. She got rid of her bed on the word of serveral associates including Greg who assures us that she was scheduled for delivery yesterday. She is 75 years old with health issues and when I mentioned to Greg that she was sleeping on a recliner he said well she didn't order any mattresses from us why doesn't she sleep on those. This is none of his business to ask but due to health issues she cannot get up from a surface that low. Her delivery was never placed on a truck and she needs to wait another 5 days before she gets a delivery. No one that I spoke to cared about her age, her health or anything that we had to say. They never went above and beyond to help out. They just basically said that it wasn't their problem even though no one could explain where the disconnect of the delivery happened. Waiting on a manager to call me back which takes up to 72 hours let's see if that happens. Ashley please train your people to have real feelings and not act like robots with no power.
