I knew from the moment I spoke to the store manager I shouldn't purchase here. I should have listened to my gut instinct but sad to say I didn't. The store manager came to assist his sales person and before walking away from her he said "you do know how to add, right?" I must say he was a total jerk! I ended up buying 2 tv stands and the delivery came separate. I didn't not notice it was damaged as I had to leave quickly after the delivery. I noticed that the side had been chipped off and I called it in the same day. Very pricey for a damaged stand. When I called to have it replaced they sent a technician out and when he arrived I asked for it to be replaced as it was an expensive piece of furniture to only get it touched up. Had I done the damage I would have been fine with the touch up, but I didn't. When the main office called the gal was a jerk be she did t care what I had to say because it was already delivered into my home. People don't buy from here!! with this being one of only two big store furniture store in town, you would think that they would take care of customers better. we bought a couch and recliner that are falling apart and we went into store almost 2 weeks to tell them of the problem and were told someone would be out to check on problem and still no word from them. we feel like they dont care about you until they have your money. each day these go unfixed make it hard on our bodys to sit in. remeber word of mouth is you best advertising tool. think how it sound for a elderly couple to be taken advantage of, and now this lady answers the phone and tells me we need to send them pictures. im 70 years old just had my hip replace im sure my doctor would love me to try and tip this couch or recliner over to send them pictures read more

The customer service in Visalia is the worst. I got this couch from Ashley and when I received it it had stains all over it from mildew. They said they wouldn't give me a new one because I already signed for it even though they had all the pictures with the spots and stains, they said they would repair it and the never did, they continue to make appointments with me but never come. I have had a great experience every time I went in. First time we went in for the Memorial Day sale to look at couches and the manager Rodney was so helpful, nice and definitely was great with he customer service. We didn't buy that day, (our own reason). Went back for the Fourth of July sale to get the couch we originally looked at. It was cheaper that day, woo hoo! Rodney remembered us also. The sales associate Mary helped us out that day. (She follows you a little too much and could hold back a tad bit). Other than that, she's a nice lady. I went back a couple weeks later and ordered a bed special I saw online. The sales associate Allison helped me with the order and she was great! Finally went in-store(did not want to go in due to Covid-19 safety) but had to and still could not discuss. I had to open a "case" to discuss return/exchange. This place does not care about their customers. YES! they will LIE to you to your face and when you try to get a hold of someone because your delivery gets all messed up and your purchase item is DAMAGED, all of a sudden, they are too busy to answer . I asked questions before we purchased because we do not have a truck to bring the items with us. The employees said it was no problem, they deliver to where we live (on base) all the time with no problem. What they don't tell you is that their employees who deliver don't read any of their delivery destinations and don't carry their ID's. Also they don't have base access. Therefore, you have to escort them in. If you don't have a car to go to pass and ID to do so, then sucks for you. Took me 6 calls and over 2 hours to get a hold of someone and all she said is that their delivery is "glitchy" and that all she knows. Very unprofessional person. I will never buy anything from Ashley Furniture again in life. Their customer service is very poor or non existent. I waited for my furniture on back order. The chair came with a leg bent, has been since April 14 and still bent. No replacement or fix as of today June 2. The chaise sectional I purchased was not filled properly, the filling was shipped to my house and had to wait from April 14 until today June 2 for that to be fixed. Delivery people I rate a 5 star. Ashley furniture and Ashley furniture dispatch horrible, I would rate dispatch a negative 5 and Ashley the store I would rate the same. Unprofessional, they won't answer you or Your question and will hang up on you when they don't have an answer. I ordered over $9,000 USD in furniture and everything except a few pieces came damaged. My $2,500 sectional dirty and damaged, my $2,000 table, cracked and damaged, and my $600.00 floor mirror came in cracked. When I called dispatch and when delivery driver called dispatch they said furniture will take two weeks to get. I told them "how about you and your family sit And eat off the floor for two weeks or more" Ridiculous! DONT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLAR. SHOP SMALL TOWN BUSINESSES. Seriously so disappointed!! Have purchased many things from Ashley all over the west coast. This was our first purchase from the Visalia, CA store and the salesman was very helpful. However shortly after we received our new couch 3 piece set we noticed it started feeling sticky/tacky and when wiping it down the material starting peeling off!! We only had it for 3 or 4 months and had called and called trying to get someone to help or come look at it. They wouldn't respond to our concern, asked us to take pictures and email it to them, finally after a couple months of constant calls they finally sent out a tech to look at it. He automatically said it was normal wear and tear and wasn't covered under warranty. Mind you we had bought their premium extended warranty that was supposed to cover anything!! I relentlessly kept calling feeling unsatisfied, I finally got ahold of the warranty company over a year after our purchase only to listen to her tell me that it was over a year and no longer something they would cover!! $5000 wasted on garbage materials that my family doesn't even want to sit on. I will never ever ever purchase from your company again, worst product ever which I understand you don't build but your customer service is the reason, pure lack of care and concern. No business ethics are employed by this waste of a company!!! If there was a negative star rating they would get that one. read more

This store gave us the wrong product. After a month of calling and hassling I asked for a refund because they wouldn't give us what we ordered. After an addition two months of fighting they still haven't refunded us and the managers have been unhelpful. This store has now held my money since early October of 2020 and it is now late January of 2021. read more

This my second time in two weeks!!! I am furnishing not one but two homes and Ashley is the place to be. I loved the service and attention (just enough to browse but keep an eye on you at the same time). Zeus, the store manager is so professional and welcoming (great hand shake with a genuine smile) and all of his floor associates, like Glen, knew their products, in great detail, and REALLY listened to your needs. The sale associates behind the counter could have smiled more, but could you blame them? They are dealing with the finances! I didn't walk in there with the shabbiest attire (close enough) and still greeted with a smile. I am glad this store doesn't "judge a book by its cover" (unlike other competitors). I would recommend them not just for the selection they have but really the excellent customer service and attentiveness for each of their clients. Bravo Ashley Visalia! read more

Last Thanksgiving/holiday time I went to Ashley Furniture and found a coffee table I really liked. I spoke to a Ms Romero. She told me it would take approximately 6-8 weeks before getting the table. Fast forward to March. I went back to Ashley with a friend who is looking for a kids desk. Ms Romero recognized me. I showed her the table I was very interested in, the one from last time. She told me (in front of my friend) that now that the warehouse is closer I should have no issues and be able to get the coffee table in 2 weeks!! I went home to measure the area. I went back to Ashley 2 days later. I told Ms Romero what coffee table I wanted. I asked again when I'd get the table. Ms Romero tells me 4-6 weeks. I asked her why did she tell me 2 weeks 2 days ago. She accused me of being misinformed and doesn't remember saying 2 weeks. I said my friend was standing with me when she said 2 weeks. Again she said she didn't remember saying 2 weeks. I was so upset I left the store without the coffee table. I was sadden that I would have to wait as if it was the holidays. Yet Ms Romero told us the new warehouse was closer and we would be able to get items faster. I decided to check other places. I've done business with WAYFAIR before so I checked their web site. OMG ...... they have the same exact table and it's an Ashley table!! I was so excited especially when I saw that the price is $150 cheaper. Needless to say I bought the coffee table from WAYFAIR. It looks beautiful in my living room. The best part ..... it came within 4 days!!! From now on never again Ashley furniture store. Never again!! I'm afraid the comments from Ashley furniture manager is nothing more then excuses. Ms Romero looked on the computer when I was with my friend and told us I could get the table in 2 weeks. She did not look on the computer nor ask a manager 2 days later ( when I came back to Ashley's to buy the coffee table). Ms Romero said it was going to be 4-6 weeks ( there standard time) to get the coffee table. I reminder her what she said 2 days before and says she doesn't remember!! Not once did Ms Romero check on the computer in front of me nor call for a store manager. My friend heard what she said. She probably felt I wanted the table bad enough I'd buy it regardless of what was said. I also bet Ms Romero didn't think I'd write about how she bait and tried to switch me. Again Ms Romero was the one that told my friend and me the warehouse is here in the valley. Not way up north. Please please please Ashley don't try to feed someone who has done her homework worms...... we all know where worms live. I'm not buying anything you say, nor anything in your store. read more

Terrible experience overall. We were helped Marie Rebelo. She appeared to be on the older side so we were hoping she had more wisdom, experience and efficiency as this was the first time we were buying furniture in person and not electronically. We were very patient and kind to multiple things she did that we didn't like. First off, she was following us around the entire store really trying to sell everything instead of just giving us the space and time to look. Keep in mind that we were here with our two kids under the age of 18 months old looking for furniture as quickly as we could since we knew exactly what we wanted. Secondly, we explained to her what items we were interested in and what we wanted but she was showing us some things that were not in the category of our interest and things we told her that we definitely don't want at this time. Thirdly, she did not have a measuring tape with her; I feel like that's furniture store sales rep 101. We ultimately did find what we liked; however, did not have the time to buy the items that day because we had to rush home since our babies were exhausted. We scheduled an appointment with her for the next day to purchase the sofas, dining table and the other items. We called her to let her know what time we would be coming in. We got there about 5 minutes earlier than the time of our appointment. She was with another client so we gave her time instead of going to another sales representative. We let her know we were there. She told us it would only be a couple more minutes. Half and hour later and with our kids starting to get squirmy, we told her sorry we would just like to check out with another sales representative so we can go home sooner than later. She again told us to give her just five more minutes which again turned into another 45 minutes!!! I went up to her several times by this point and I had to nurse my youngest in my hot car outside in 107 degrees weather with the air conditioning on of course. Once she was finally with us, she was giving us a different price with calculation for the dining table than what it was originally, it took another 30 minutes to figure out the numbers. Honestly, if you're going to be a sales representative, you have to get your numbers right. When we were finally checking out, at this point exhausted and two crying babies later, it took her a ridiculous amount of time to check us out. She promised to change the carpet from under the dining table to the one we wanted for no price change (originally $50 price difference but we were buying more than $4k worth of items), however, she did not follow through with that. The manager did ultimately honor a $150 discount on our final price due to our long wait which we were thankful for. She entered the wrong dining set color initially and luckily we caught it so she changed it in the system. additionally a higher price was entered for one of our items which took another manager to approve and fix. After all this was done on 8/11/19, our items were supposed to be delivered 8/27/19, and most of our items were delivered. However, 1 dining set and 2 placemats were not delivered. When I called to see when they would be arriving, the manager told be the best they can do is October 12!!!!!! That's 2 months from the order date. Just ridiculous. I don't know why those items were "back ordered" and if they were "back ordered" our sales representative should have told us about it. Additionally, the manager was extremely rude, cold, and had a grim facial expression throughout the store experience and was straight bitter over the phone, she suggested we can come in and grab any floor dining set and placemats on the "floor" which we found ridiculous as we obviously wanted new items since we paid for them! She was also very condescending to Marie, and to think, Marie was probably twice her age or more. Zero respect. Setting poor examples as a manager. I wouldn't go here again unless it was my only option and I would lower my expectations as much as possible. read more

The furniture is poor quality and the customer service is even worse. I have purchased a lot of furniture from this store. I always buy on sale because I know the furniture is not long-lasting. I will never buy from them again though. I had a terrible time getting help finding a mattress for my son while in the store. As a matter of fact, I had to go on the website to find one. Then when I needed assistance because they did not fit my son's bed, I have received nothing but a run around. Crappy customer service means they'll never get my business again. read more

So you're telling me that I paid cash, was suppose to receive my item on 8/30 but for some odd reason I didn't. Then rescheduled to 9/4 but again was unable to do that and no one calls me to reschedule now I have to get my items until 9/18. I had to go into the store to fix my own delivery. The sales manager there really needs a professional development training or just a human interaction training. Ashely furniture has the worst customer service. When we walked in nobody gave us the time or day. I asked two associates who works here they both look at eachother liked they didnt know. Then the guy said him and a lady, they both work there.. Not one of the two offered to help they both offered each other up.. The lady then proceeded ask what we needed. We let her know .. We came to this store hoping to search for a new bedroom set. The store Manager, Zeus, was nice and friendly. He informed us that if we find a deal online at Ashley's website, he would do a price match for us. So we went home and checked online since the store was about to close. The second time we came into the store, the sales person, Stephanie was also nice and friendly. I would give the store 4 starts!!! But... the company in general seems like a scam to me. This is what happened... I saw a table online that is on sale for 119.99 so I came to the store buy it. I felt like the company promote the sale online just to SCAM people into coming to the store. It is VERY DECEIVING! And that is NOT a way to deal business especially it is a furniture store. My recommendation is... if you see a sale online at their website, DON'T even bother to go into the store because the price might be different. Bought a new sofa, chair and ottoman (springs are starting to go), and 2 new mattress sets 2 years ago Was given 24 mos no interest. Great. Got my statements each month, usually $85 or month, but I paid at least $100 per month. When the 24 mos was up, I had a remaining balance of less than $900, but my next statement had a balance of over $2400. I called to find out what happened. They told me, "you didn't pay the entire balance within the 24 months, so we are retro billing you for back interest." Nobody told me this would happen. And why did each statement have the min payment of $85, when it should have been at least $125 to get the balance paid within the 24 months? Calling the credit holder was a waste of time. They basically said, "gee, sucks to be you." Went to the store, manager was clearly afraid I was going to cause a scene (I sure thought about it), he promised to call his superiors and "see what he can do to resolve the issue. " No surprisingly, never heard from him. Will never set foot in that place again and will tell of my experience to anyone who will listen. read more

This is by far the worst ashley furniture store I have been to. My husband and I went into the store to purchase two new couches and a dinning room set. The sales person was great! But the girls that finish your purchase are horrible! They say they will call you to set up delievery... Well a month later we had to call them! They never sent in the order... A week later they call to set up a date to deliver it didn't work for us so they said they would call back. They never called back!!!! So we called them AGAIN! And they said well now we can't bring it for three weeks!!! They are horrible! Sam Tran obviously can not run these stores he keeps purchasing! Look what happened to Bakersfield store! The most difficult part of this review would be how to express my appreciation for the entire staff at the Visalia Ashley HomeStore. The entire store pitched in as a team and delivered first class service. After having just recently moved we had an entire house to furnish, every single room. We stopped by many other furniture stores in town to check out the "deals" that just happened to be low quality furniture at exceptionally high prices. And then we walked into Ashley, we got great quality furniture at an exceptionally amazing price. They worked within our budget and made sure we got everything we needed.
