I would give zero starts if could. Where to begin with this place? I will never again or do I recommend buying from this place. We ordered furniture May 2021 and was told everything will be in by July 13. We also paid for delivery and setup. Well nothing was in and was told end of July. We did get part of our items the end of July but all the other items every month they would tell us it was coming in at the end of the month. The items we did receive was 6 kitchen chairs with no table and every chair wobbled so we had to have a technician come out to fix them to find out that the people that made them forgot a piece that goes in the backs on the chairs so, we now had to order all the new backs for our chairs so who knows when they will come in. Then with the items they did bring us the delivery guys were very rude and didn't even put my stuff together we had to do it ourselves. Then we also got our dresser, nightstands and footboard and headboard but no rails so I can't even put my bed together and they don't even have an estimate delivery date all they could tell me is it would be sometime after May 2022. That is over a year from when I ordered!!!!!!!!! I had finally talked to someone who told me my kitchen table and the other dresser we ordered was in and ready for delivery so we set up a date. The day before delivery they sent an email and txt that we were the second stop on the delivery. Well we set here all day Saturday and the delivery never showed up. I called to find out what happened and they told me that I wasn't even scheduled for a delivery so I read them each of the confirmation messages I had received. We then went to the store and they told us that they had removed my items from there delivery and didn't bother to inform anyone about it!! So I wasn't half a Saturday for nothing!!!! I have left complaints on all sights I can to let people know how horrible of a furniture place this is and they are NOT the number one furniture store and I highly recommend shopping other places read more

Spent over $3,900 for a new bed and mattress. Was delivered during the time they said, but was delivered without screws to attach the headboard to the rails. The delivery guys said someone was going to come out & put it together later. I had to call this #. I am left with my new mattress on the floor & the bed in pieces. I was able to get through to a couple of girls throughout the day who were very helpful & put in an emergency ticket, but never heard from anyone. Going on day 2 & called the # early this morning and they said the ticket is out there & someone will call me. This is a big joke. This is the worst company in all areas ever. I thought that Comcast customer service was the worst in history, Ashley takes the Crown. Not only was I delivered 1/2 of the sectional couch I ordered, when it arrived it was damaged. I have had to spend over 5 hours on the phone, being routed to different numbers and departments, sent in emails, many with photos of the damage included and even went to the store in person on 3 occasions. Still have not been able to cancel my order, have been charged and have had no success getting a refund. It is beyond ridiculous. These people are scam!!!! Do not waste your money please they will sell you furnitures that are scratched, broken for big bucks. There's a lady name Von that's not we'll trained. She messed up all of our order and tried to sell me furnitures that were in a bad condition. The manager name Anthony was very rude he told me " even if you did not pick up your furniture, I will still charge you and not give you your refund" VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. As a manager he was supposed to go above and beyond to his customers he did not act like a manager at all. I called the store to see if I could speak with Anthony boss. All they said to me was wait the boss will call you. I waited 3 days. The boss did not returned my call and I'm still waiting. They charged my credit card 5,000 and I have no furniture in my house. I purchased a living room set (sofa, loveseat, two tables) from your company. I opted out of delivery as the fee was well over $100. The store manager explained that I was able to opt out of delivery however, in the event the furniture needed to be returned, for any reason, it would be my responsibility to take it back to the warehouse. Yesterday evening, my husband picked the furniture up- it was wrapped in 3 layers of plastic as well as encompassed by cardboard. He started with the loveseat and quickly learned that 2 of the 4 pilot wholes were defective, making it impossible to attach the legs. Ok, fair enough. We moved on to the couch, only removing enough of the protection to assess the pilot wholes to discover that at least 2 of the 4 were again defective. Upon further examination, the back of the couch has lumps like maybe foam or some other material was accidentally attached and balled up under the fabric. At this point, we were concerned that the furniture is poorly made and something that will not last because of the obvious poor craftsmanship. I called customer service and was told I needed to call the store as they do not address such issues. When I called the store, I was initially told that no one in the store could handle the matter and I would need to call back on Monday. I explained that I didn't feel Monday was an appropriate response as I have 4 pieces of unusable furniture in my living room with a family of 4. She finally agreed to let me speak to a manager. The manager explained that all sales are final and he could offer nothing more than an exchange for the same product but I would be required to return the furniture and pay a 10% restocking fee. This may not seem like a big deal but this would total an additional ~$300. I later went to the store to talk to the manager face to face - he quickly said you are in a contract and we do not offer returns. All sales are final. That is our policy. I suggested that perhaps the policy was broken on Ashley Furnitures part as both pieces of sitting furniture are defective. I also explained that my concern is that the furniture is not well made and will not hold up. If it was one minor issue or even two I would be happy to except a straight trade and have no issue. He finally said the best I can offer you is to pick another piece in the store for an exchange. So, my two options are to take the poor quality furniture or pick furniture that I don't want or like. I wish that I had researched Ashley furniture before purchasing from the company. The sales people preach how the company stands behind its products and supports customers and I find both of those statements to be bold faced lies. Tonight my Fiance and I bought a dual reclining couch with a divider, very comfy very practical and affordable. I have to say it really was a tough decision because they had so many options of what we were looking for! But really what made us decide "this is it" was the wonderful customer service we had. Cindee was our sales rep and was nothing but helpful and funny for the duration of our shopping. She was very thorough in helping us find the perfect thing and informative as well. They lie!! I bought the protection warranty I explained that I have a cat and that I was worried about the fabric holding up and my salesman told me that the warranty would cover pet damage. GBS the warranty company said they lie all the time about what it covers just to make a sale. Still waiting from a call from the manager. I will never return to this store they can not be trusted! We bought a bed at Ashley in early October that was broke by early December. I have contacted them nearly every day since then, and still no one has been by to fix the bed. Waiting on hold every day for hours, first with Ashley, then with their repair contractor....all we want is our MONEY BACK SO WE CAN BUY A NEW BED! Thank goodness we at least have a guest bedroom we can use. We have spent thousands of dollars at Ashley in the past. NEVER. AGAIN. Not one cent. Purchased a bed and I really like the bed and the lady who assisted was great. The delivery was not the best. I was told that I would get a call 30 minutes before delivery and my window was from 10-1. It is noon and I know I should be getting a call within the next hour and before I know it I get a call from an annoyed driver who said they have been knocking on my door. I did not get a call 30 minutes in advance and they were knocking at the wrong apartment below mine. After that, everything went fine. They got my bed moved in quickly and setup. They did set it up in a different way than I requested, but I at least got it into the right room. Other than the delivery, the product has been good. read more

In May 2019 we bought a new leather sectional from Ashley. It was what we had in mind and the sale was seamless. The delivery was as expected and the furniture was very comfortable. Unfortunately, that was the end of our great experience. Within a few months we noticed the foam was breaking down in the chase, recliner and the console. In November we went back to the store and spoke with a manager. We discussed the issues with the sectional and our dissatisfaction. He was not helpful and only stated we would have to take up our issues with the corporate office. So we called customer service and explained our issues on November 30. She took our information and we sent pictures. 2 weeks later and we had heard nothing. Called back and had to repeat the entire process. Like no one had spoken to us. Repeated the entire process only the furniture had even gotten worse. The recliner is completely unusable. Again sent pictures. Still NO follow up or response. Called back today and it's like starting from scratch AGAIN! The only difference was the assistant was able to locate our pictures. They refuse to sent a tech to look at the issues until we receive parts which are being shipped to our house. After we receive them, WE have to call them back. Absolute WORST customer service. Our warranty is wasting away and there is NO guarantee or additional warranty for any work that is done to repair our furniture! Absolute crap furniture and customer service! Purchasing from the store and the financing both went smoothly. That was the beginning of the end. Ashley uses outside vendors both for delivery and for service orders. Both bottom shelf. Delivery was not until 5 hours after the scheduled time and then the furniture came at nearly 10 pm. As upset as I was, I'm sure my neighbors were even more upset hearing truck engines and doors. Then, the sleeper would not open to the sleeper sofa. I received an odd VM that a service rep would be out but then when I called to confirm, I was told that there was no service order in for my name and phone number. Let the circular communications begin for the entire next week, including 1 to my office ON A SUNDAY!! To stay away from Ashley is to stay away from their very substandard outside contractors. The salesman had such a great personality BUT he ordered the wrong side sofa and chase for our sectional, he CONTINUED to say "it comes with a 5 year warranty", It comes with that it comes with that...He never once mentioned that it also comes with a $1,000 price tag! We also were never informed of the $350.00 delivery fee! The delivery has been an ongoing problem, they brought 2 pieces of the sectional and guess what we received our first bill! This place already billed us for furniture that we still do not have! Friday they were supposed to deliver a sofa, I stayed home all day waiting only to find out at 3:00 that the delivery was canceledToday they were supposed to deliver our bedroom set, our sons bedroom set and our living tables between 8:30-11:30. I called 2 times and was told BOTH times that the delivery was on its way to my house those calls were at 8:45am and again at 11:45am. ***Update to my previous review. It is now November 5th. Almost 3.5 months since I initially ordered my furniture from Ashley. I still do not have the handles for the bedroom dresser. I thought we were getting somewhere after I posted a negative review last time, but alas they sent me handles that went to a different dresser and not the one I purchased. I physically went to Ashley Furniture so that I could speak to a sales representative. One woman told me that I need to go call Customer Service to put in my request after I showed up to the store to try and get a resolution. I thought it was laughable that this company's own employee was not willing to help correct a mistake that the COMPANY not the customer made. A different sales rep was nice enough to try and help me herself while I was in the store. She tried to call customer service. Guess what?!?! She tried calling the customer service line 6 TIMES and was not able to get through a single time!!!! Hilarious that the advice given to me when I originally got into the store was to call customer service and not even the employee could reach customer service. I left after the sales rep assured me she would follow up the next day and get the missing handles ordered for me. Here we are 4 weeks since that incidence and I still have nothing. After three weeks I called and was told they were having computer problems and they would call me right back...they never called back!! The delivery guy wouldn't even bring in the nightstand off the truck because he said it's in worse condition than the first one! Great, junk replacing more junk. Ashley furniture stores are great. They offer an abundance of furniture and decor selections and a great price. Granted the quality isn't top notch but it's good for people on a budget. The selection earned them a two star rating. The service was so horrible that they get no more than a two star rating. The sales rep that greeted us did so with a smile though you could tell she was struggling to do that and her friendliness was fake. She checked on us a few times but we are slow shoppers when it comes to furniture and wanted to make sure we were getting what we wanted. After she checked on us the second time her tone turned to uninterested. But it was a few minutes after that he had determined what we'd like. She was getting the sale because that's who talked to us but she made the payment process quite painful and when we didn't take the protection plan she was downright appalled and went straight in defense mode making sure we were aware that it was a dumb decision ... Now three weeks later they call to schedule the delivery. It's scheduled for a weekend day that my wife was flying home. Her flight lands in the 3 hour delivery window so I am unable to pick her up because an adult need be present. An hour after the delivery window the driver states that he showed up but no one was home. This is a blatant lie because I was home sitting on the couch and the front desk attendant stated that no one came to the door to deliver. The driver was incredibly rude and told us to deal with the store we ordered from to reschedule. After being assured a call back the next morning I again waited all day long for a call I never received. After two emails and several calls to the distribution center and store someone finally decided to let me know they'd be delivering on Thursday morning and they waived the fee. That's nice but now I am wasting a vacation day, my wife had to ride the metro home from the airport and two days of my life wasted on the poor service provided. I wish I could put ZERO STARS. This company is disgusting. First my order was scheduled to arrive July 1st. I placed the order in early May. Suddenly my delivery date arrives and I hear nothing from Ashley so after getting the run around, I was told it would be another week. After waiting several weeks, my complete order is still in limbo. I got 2 out of 4 things delivered -- a couch and a plain mattress. Now I'm sleeping on a mattress that's on a floor because Ashley keeps pushing back my delivery date for my bed frame. Oh! And my couch came uncovered (no plastic wrap for protection) so guess what I found on it? BLOOD. THERE WAS BLOOD ON MY NEW COUCH. Of course I spoke to 3 different people from Ashley and have I received a call back or even a replacement couch? NO. Blood carries disease! And i had to clean it myself! When I called about my bed frame, I was told that not the entire frame is being delivered: only the headboard and rails. WHY DO I WANT HALF A BED FRAME!!???! Of course as soon as I get transferred to the cancellation dept, I get hung up on. Ashley loves hanging up on me even though I'm being very kind on the phone so as to not lash out at the wrong person. Absolutely ridiculous. I hope this company goes bankrupt. We should have known there would be a problem when we were greeted up front by our salesperson that didn't seem to know anything about the furniture. She had to ask the manager for answers to every question we asked. We purchased the Garristown sofa and loveseat on July 4th. We also bought the extended warranty which she quoted the wrong price to us. She said it was $189.00 when in fact, it was $299.00. Delivery was set for the 11th of July. The sofa was damaged, so we rejected it. The loveseat was acceptable and was set up in the room. On July 18, they attempted to deliver the sofa again. It also was damaged and rejected. We wrote letters and sent emails to Corporate. Asked for them to reverse the charge until an acceptable sofa could be delivered. They said NO. Asked if they would consider allowing us to return the loveseat since they can't seem to deliver the matching sofa as our plan was to have a matching set. They said NO. So, here we are.....they've been paid and we don't yet have the sofa. Today is July 25th. We thought Ashley was a decent place to buy from, but our experience has left us thinking otherwise!! DO NOT BUY A GUARDSMAN SERVICE AGREEMENT. When we bought our dining room table our sales guy told us about this fantastic warranty that covered "everything" it is such a great warranty he told us over and over again. As it was a wood table we thought why not. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY ON A GUARDSMAN SERVICE AGREEMENT. 1. They make you jump through SO MANY hops to file a claim 2. They only cover the damage shown in the What is Covered 3. They have TERRIBLE customer service with VERY long wait times Our dining room table out of the blue starting warping at the seam where the leaves can go in. No big deal, took the pictures submitted the claim by web AND mail and was told since it was not one of the items that was listed in the covered section it was not covered even though this particular issue was not listed on the "Not Covered" section. This company is crap and their warranty is too. Don't know if other furniture stores are pushing this crappy warranty so I am posting my review here. Save the $100 and just take care of your new piece of furniture because if something does go wrong it won't end up being covered or in my case NOT NOT covered. read more

We purchased a sectional here a couple months ago. It was final sale so we inspected it thoroughly. We were quite disappointed when we got home and found one of the pieces already broken, in a manner in which it would not be noticed unless you pick the piece up to move it. We obviously didn't have you opportunity to do that before getting the piece home. Now, another piece of the sectional has broken. The entire sofa is made of very cheap particleboard and breaks with the slightest, light, normal use of the furniture. I've contacted the corporate office of Ashley Furniture and they are unwilling to do anything to make this right. We feel we've been sold a total junker, we've been swindled, we've been robbed. I have bought many furniture items from them before and as the years have gone there quality of furniture has gone to crap and so has the customer service. I purchased a couch and chair in Oct the chair was torn when it came in and it took me 3 weeks to even get a tech out to fix the chair. We purchased a kitchen table with a bench and 4 chairs. 1 chair came in cracked I refused the chair that was Nov 21 I still have not received my chair I have called 3 times and they STILL have not put the order in for my new chair however they HAVE charged me for it. Ashley has really nice furniture for the price and a multitude of financing options. You can get REAL wood furniture instead of some cheap mdf stuff you will find at other stores. The store associates are super helpful and there are many available to help. We are shopping for our new house we are having built , we found everything we wanted put it all together on a list and worked up the price, once we are close to a move in date we will arrange delivery! Got a good deal on a sofa and loveseat set. The style and comfort of the pieces at Ashley is great, and I am pleased with my purchase. I came several times while I was trying to find something new for my living room, so I encountered several different sales people. Most were very helpful without being pushy. I had to change my delivery date, and the person I spoke with when I called was very helpful and the process was smooth. Went back to them last winter to purchase sleeper/sofa, was told delivery 2 weeks,2 weeks came no sofa, I had to call them to check on and was told no idea when we would have new sofa, so we cancelled purchase and bought elsewhere. Foolishly we went back to them this past May to purchase bedroom set for my daughter who is moving to Springfield this year for college. We were told middle of July would be no problem. Went to store yesterday and was told no bed until maybe end of July and no date available for dresser. They are blaming Covid 19 for delays. Their service sucked way before Covid 19. After having my sofa 5 months, the cushions are lumpy and don't fit. Called customer service and talked to Brittney who was rude and got me no where. Called the home store and talked to Micki who also escalated it and never called back. When I got ahold of her she told me lumpy cushions that don't fit are normal wear and tear!! She told me I could call corporate who told me each store has their own policies!! I bought a warranty and I am trying to figure out what I paid for!! After 5 months, cushions are so lumpy it's embarrassing and now they don't fit!! I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing! I have been dealing with this GOD AWFUL company since May of 2020! Here it is 9 months later and I still have damaged furniture at my house. My partial order was dropped off in June 80% of it was damaged, my dinning room table being the worse. The delivery guy took matters in to his hands to use a marker and color in the damage. So fast forward to October 29th 2020 I am set up to get my new items. On the delivery it said ALL items were coming. They show up and no table, that's fine whatever but little did I know these drivers sent a picture to Ashley stating they took my damage table which they did not! The guy had me sign off stating that the table was not dropped off so where is that?!?! Called in December to see where my new table was, I was told I already had my replacement table. I argued with her and she hung up on me! Called back and spoke with a lady who called the first one a idiot and said I see your repair order but your table is unavailable. Told her that is fine I would wait. Fast forward to February 02, call to see where my table was once again, I already received my table she said... there's a picture of the chairs on your table of the one they dropped off. I didn't have chairs on my table... they were on the ground and pushed away. Long story short I was called a liar and told I would have to send them pictures of the same damage to prove it was the same table!! NO NO NO!!! Why would I still be calling months and months later about a damaged table if it was fixed?! What happened to the customer being right?! The drivers that drop your order off don't even work for Ashley they could give 0 you know what you if you got your order or if it is correct. I went to the store which they can't do anything because they are a franchise so don't waste your time! They don't care and everyone looks miserable. After SCREAMING at someone on the phone for 10 mins I got a replacement table and was told my order would be in Saturday Feb 6th, then a text message the next day asking me what time to set up my delivery. Today I get a call telling me my delivery is tomorrow!! So they ignore everything that is convenient for the customer and do things on their own time. I was told but the guy in customer service who spoke to me like I was scum, that basically tough sh*t your other is already on the truck. Well I work tomorrow and no one will be at the house! So now I have NO IDEA if I will even see my table. Basically NEVER BUY from here!! NEVER, there are so many other places that will take care of you! If I wasn't damaged furniture I would have gone to Craig's list. At lease that furniture would hold up. Our couches we got in September already have began to sink in and it's just my husband and myself who sit on them. read more

I went to this store to purchase a bedroom set, but ended up just observing for almost an hour. This is what I saw during my visit. The store does not cater well to African Americans (they don't even have any working in the store). The quality of the Chinese-made furniture appears to be sturdy, but upon closer inspection you will find that it is cheap stuff. The sales staff is obviously on commission, so they will tell you what you want to hear in order to get a sale. A lot of their inventory is on backorder, and they will give you an earlier expected date just to get you to complete the purchase. Of course, you will get a call later stating that "there was an issue with the truck" or "this was such a popular item that we can't keep it in stock". For a better selection and better quality, I would recommend Carol House or Rothman. They have very short warranties on their furniture. Also, they charge $89.00 for delivery, when everyone else has free delivery. What a ripoff. Finally, the management is a joke. No matter what the job title, a hoosier is still a hoosier. They have an assistant store manager who seems to spend more time on his cell phone texting than he does managing. The day I was there, the store was busy, yet he stood in the middle of the floor watching rather than trying to help a customer. As I understand it, the St. Louis chain of Ashley, Phillips and Weekends Only are all owned by the Phillips brothers. If you can avoid buying this garbage, you will save yourself a lot a of grief later. read more

My wife and I went to the Ashley Store in South County to look at for a sofa for our house. Brad helped us then left us to look around. He would stop by to check on us and answered all our questions. Terrible customer service... Would not recommend shopping here. Tried to cancel an order within less than 24 hours after a purchase (due to personal issues) and they still want to charge 10% cancellation fees. The store manager was completely rude and directed me to a corporate phone line that never picked up and had a full mailbox. This business has lost a recurring customer. Read the fine print and go to a better furniture store that doesn't treat their customers like crap. read more

Things were not the best at the store and have only gotten worse. The sales person was terrible. I was the easiest sale he probably will ever have as I knew what I wanted. I asked him a couple questions about the pieces and he did not know the answer or how to read the information on the signs. I ordered a platform bed and he did not have all the pieces ordered that you needed to so he had to rering things. I ordered the bedroom furniture on July 18th and just got it on September 19th (I did not have an issue with the length of time even though it was 3-5 weeks longer that what I was told the max would be). Then delivery, no call until about 24 hours before with time frame and I could not confirm so they said they would cancel my delivery. After over an hour on hold I was able to get confirmation. Delivery day, no call or text like I was told when they were 30 minutes out. Everything was going smoothly (except for the one guy complaining how hot it was, it was in the low 70's) or so I thought. The battery on the drill ran out on the only piece they needed it for and then they did not have the screws for the slats for the platform. They said they would be out this morning to finish since they were off Sundays & Mondays and would call first thing in the morning. I had to call 4 times (30+ minutes on hold each time) and disconnected twice, once after being transferred and on hold for an additional 30 minutes. Finally got someone who I told that she will not transfer me to anyone and she will need to get this taken care of. She said there were not notes on my order of any issue. She is contacting someone and she said she would get back to me within 30 minutes but to give her an hour. It has been an hour no call back. I had planned on order a couple other pieces from Ashley's but not now. Terrible service and who knows when I will ever get to sleep in my bed. read more

Bought furniture in 2014 and purchased a warranty with the understanding that if a claim was not used I would be refunded the amount after 5 years. I explained that to Ashley and they informed me that the warranty company was bought out by another warranty co. that same year and I had to apply the cost of the warranty toward a $500.00 item. Many phone calls later they said I had to purchase the same amount as the warranty. All this for $120.00. They don't stand behind warranties. Don't purchase warranties, total waste, in fact never again purchase from Ashley. They aren't nice to deal with unless your spending money. read more
