I really contemplated how to go about writing this review. I have mixed feelings about this place. There are a few good salesmen that have a keen eye for style and decor and are very willing to help you. They tend to work with quite a few people at a time as they get busy. Be on the lookout for sales. Ask when you come in but make sure you check online for pricing to make sure you are getting the discount off the lowest price! Found some very lovely pieces of furniture here. We purchased a sofa chair, small sectional (build your own), and a sofa/chaise futon. We also purchased 2 rugs. Tip: when the delivery guys come and you DO NOT like the furniture, you have every right to refuse it!! Don't make them pressure you!!! My biggest problem with Ashley is the delivery guys that showed up the first time were not very hospitable. When they brought the furniture, set it up, I realized within minutes that it was way too bulky for our space. The driver, proceeded to tell me that I should have told him that before unloading it!!! How was I to know?! Anyhow, they reluctantly took it back, tried to convince me to keep it for 30-days. Thirty days for what? For it to get damaged and I get stuck with it?! Hassling the store to get it picked up- NO THANKS! I've worked in the furniture industry, and I didn't want another problem in my hands. Well, it was very clear the driver and helper were upset with me. We later noticed they scuffed the garage door trying to bring in the furniture and they dinged our walls which we had freshly painted. Luckily, the other drivers were nothing like these two but still, contract drivers or employees- you all represent the company you work for!!! Anyhow, the showroom has a lot of stuff on the floor and a lot more online. Bring pictures of your space and get some sound advice. Don't accept a delivery that you're not happy with. We purchased thousands of dollars worth of furniture at Ashley in 2019 and - at the sales person's suggestion - purchased their 5-year furniture protection plan for $500. 3 years later, the leather on our $3,600 sectional is starting to crack. We called the protection plan company and they denied our claim because there is a huge list of exclusions that they don't cover including " cracking or peeling of upholstered fabric or leather". If we had burned a hole in the leather, or had cut the leather with a knife or other sharp object by "accident", they would cover that - but not (obviously) defective leather. So now we have a fairly new, expensive sectional that is cracking all over the place so we need to hire someone - on our own dime - to repair it. Bottom line: Ashley's "protection plan" is not worth diddly squat. Ashley furniture people offered no help with regard to their poor quality of furniture. read more

Here's my review. The prices in the store are marked up. Select what you want online, go in and let them know it's cheaper online. They should honor the online price. They did for me. The tv stand I bought was marked up by about 40%! The salesman was a nice young man. I had to make a return trip to sign my credit card receipt but I honestly wasn't upset about it. Things happen. The part of this experience that angered me was on the day of my scheduled delivery, I decided to call to find out if they could give an estimated time frame they'd be at my home. Imagine my surprise when the customer service rep stated my furniture piece wouldn't be delivered because there was a balance due on my account (NEWS TO ME!). This is after I've received several text messages from Ashley Furniture confirming my delivery date. So had I not called to get the time of the delivery, I would've just been sitting at home waiting looking like Boo Boo the Fool. I called what I thought was the local store but it seems like once you make a purchase, you no longer deal with the local store. I was speaking to someone in another town although the number had the area code of the store where I made the purchase. This particular agent looked up my account, confirmed there was no outstanding balance and rescheduled my delivery. She also advised me to NOT be content with the generic texts sent to customers confirming the delivery DATE. She recommended always calling to confirm the delivery is indeed in the system and to make sure you get a text that confirms the delivery TIME. My understanding is the text confirming the date is simply an auto text and doesn't really confirm anything and also isn't updated if issues arise like in m Today, my piece of furniture was delivered and it's very nice. I just hope it holds up because I can only imagine the hassle if any problems arise. I also want to note the store manager added a warranty to my order free of charge. I'm sure it's worked into their prices and won't amount to much but the gesture was nice and I am thankful for that. Ashley has such beautiful furniture. They just need to tweak their operational side to be just as beautiful. Unfortunately we were warned about Ashley furniture after we had made our purchase back in early July. Our sectional should have arrived today. I've called four times as no one reached out to me to give us a delivery window as stated on the invoice. This morning, the delivery date... We were told that only some of our order will arrive. We still do not have a delivery window for the items that are supposed to arrive. The rest of the items will arrive sometime at the end of September. Why would they wait until the day of delivery to let us know that we will only receive partial shipment?? The customer service is ridiculously poor. I understand delays with Covid, but what I don't understand is bad customer service and no communication. Mind you, our purchase was paid in full in early July. Worst customer service. Have had ongoing issues since March with furniture that is less than a year old. No one answers the phone. No one responds. No one is allowed to give contact information to other departments or even for managers. No one is allowed to make decisions at the store front- yet they are advertised as independently owned and operated. Why have a store manger? No one follows up. I have had to show up to the store of purchase bc no one answers the phone. I've been hung up on by call center agents who don't know how to answer the case. Disgraceful company 7/6/21 Update: Ashley Furniture FORGOT to issue my refund so they have been holding hundreds of dollars with no intention of returning it till I had to call 3 times to find out where my money was. No customer service from this disgraceful company. Stay away from Ashley Furniture Their furniture is low quality and damaged on arrival multilpe times. Waste of time buying from Ashely Furniture. I ordered a bedroom set from Ashely Furniture. First delivery had a marked up headboard, damage to the dresser, and dent in the framing of the mirror. It was a joke that this would even be attempted to be delivered. We refused everything. They didn't seem to care that we had to refuse everything from our first shipment. We scheduled the second delivery and more damaged items showed up a week later. Stains on the headboard, damage to nightstands. They even sent the SAME damaged dresser that I refused the first time. They made no attempt to fix the dresser and sent the same damaged dresser the second time around. Customer service was useless recommending we have a technician clean and fix our brand new furniture. Brand new furniture should not need fixing day one. Manager said he would "send an email to customer service" after second damaged delivery. When I was much younger, my mom bought all her furniture from Ashley. She still has a lot of it 30 years later. I trusted the quality as a result. That was my big mistake. Construction quality is not even close these days, however the price suggests otherwise. I have been so disappointed. A few years ago I spent more than $15,000 here furnishing a home as a single mom post divorce. It took the memory foam mattress less than a year to split in multiple places under normal wear with only myself sleeping on it. Our sofas haven't held up either . The back cushions are full of this cheap filling; I know because they are coming apart at the seams (on the top-see photo). They don't hold up and are easily misshaped. My mom (190 lbs) sat on the center cushion and the frame broke. Ashley won't stand by their product because it's beyond a year. So I had a handyman come to see if he could repair it. When he turned it upside down and took the backing of the bottom of the sofa, we were shocked ! The wood they used was the cheapest wood you can buy (mostly plywood), and the functions was a direct reflection of that. Furthermore, it was so poorly designed and constructed (see photos of the dissected sofa). I feel like I've been betrayed by an old family friend. I should not be in the position to replace all this furniture in 3 years . I would highly recommend Costco . They have much better construction and they stand by their product. When I got it it looked nothing like the quality of the green I saw in store. After so much trouble they did help me in exchanging it Telford the green that I assumed was just made with a better quality "velvet" after a month I finally got the green I originally loved. Was so upset that the quality was also not as good as the original green from the store. I'll post pictures of the original green with the tag. The blue I got with poor quality and then the green I delivered to my house that I got in exchange with not as good quality as the original green in store. The store itself was nicer than any other store on "furniture row" in San Marcos, and the sales associate named Alison was SUPER wonderful...never pressured me, gave me time to think about my purchase, and was super positive. The beds were such great quality that I ended up spending 3x the amount that I had planned (almost $2000) and now I kinda wish I hadn't. The delivery and set-up options are done separately at Ashley Furniture through contracted companies and are a HORRIBLE process. The companies don't feel that need to give good service because they "don't work for Ashley" meaning they are their own business. Whatever you do, DO NOT trust a guy named CHRISTIAN who hangs out in the store!!! Though calm and collected, he and his wife's company will offer to do a set-up of the furniture in your home for a price and they CANNOT be trusted. Their company USA REMOVALS promised to do the job, didn't reply to my texts at first, insisted on wanting the job during the week when I wasn't available, and then lost their temper in my home (they wanted to park in my neighbor's assigned parking spot) and stormed out refusing to do the job they promised. Now I have boxes of furniture without a reliable set-up company. It's like as soon as I paid for my furniture, all of the promises made to complete the job went out the window. CHRISTIAN should NOT be allowed to work at a store if he can't be loyal to fulfill the furniture set-up that was promised. WARNING!!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE! Horrible quality and customer service. I purchased an expensive leather three piece living room set just last year. I was upsold with the extended warranty which says it covers rips, tears and cuts. I attempted to file a claim and sent a picture of what is very clearly at cut in the material. The warranty company asked me to send a picture and then proceeded to inform me that the coverage did not include "cracks" in the leather. I informed them that this was NOT a crack in my barely one year old leather furniture and asked them to honor their contract. Without even sending a technician to actually LOOK at the damage, they denied the claim a second time. It took me two weeks to actually reach someone at the Ashley store in San Marcos, where I purchased the furniture. Their phone lines just ring and ring. I tried the chat feature for the corporate website and no one ever responded. Eventually I spoke to Robert M. from whom I purchased the items and he assured me he would speak with the managers and at the least, arrange for a technician to come out to inspect the damage in person. After a week of not hearing anything, I called again. It took me three days to get someone to answer the phone there this time and I speak to a manger. I tell him the situation and he basically tells me to pound sand. I asked for a refund of the purchase protection plan if the company was not going to honor it and again he told me to pound sand. When I asked if he could at least contact the protection plan company on my behalf, he said "no." When I asked what Ashley can do to make this situation right and again, I'm basically told to go away that I was wasting his time and that he had no intention of assisting me in anyway. I will never ever shop at Ashley Furniture store again. I spent over $5,000 on furniture there at one time, on recieving the item several of them wete damaged had to go through my waranty. They kept making excuses not to fix it. Saying the magnifactured waranty would expire if they altered the coffee table. They finally fixed it after i made a huge fit. The buffet accent table i bought same...excuse after excuse they would order the wrong parts...the repair guy would show up at my house without telling me, we would be at work...long story short the 1 yr waranty expired before they fixed it. We purchased a bed from this location this past weekend. They delivered the wrong bed. Their costumer service is useless and takes 72 hours to answer a question where they just ask more questions and say it will be another 72 hours for a response. We are on day 5 now of dealing with their costumer service for over an hour a day and they still do not have a resolution for the incorrect delivery. I would stay completely clear of this place. She has made 4 trips to the Ashley Store in person because you can't reach them by phone and each time Customer Service has assured her the couch is on it's way. On July 14 2019 I purchased a "Ashleys" mattress set and "ASHLEYS BRAND MATRESS" from Ashley's furniture in San Marco's CA. I tried "exchanging" the mattress after my fiance was having serious back pains from it. Prior to purchase I recognized Ashley's has a "Matress Happiness Sleep Guarantee" which would give the customer up to 30 nights to exchange if need be. The sales rep never informed us that there was a no exchange or refund policy on the mattresses or that they wouldnt abide by their policy. So we were out of a 1000.00 dollars on a very uncomfortable mattress. The store manager DID NOT CARE about resolving the issue. Once they have your money, the smiles go away. Their customer service sucks and they have VERY DECEPTIVE return policies on their mattresses. I have contacted the Better Buisness Bureau in CA. NOT GOOD BUISNESS PRACTICE.
