We walked into Ashley and Richard greeted us immediately. He was great. He was informative, helpful but also backed off when necessary. We never felt pressured. We visited Richard at Ashley first, and then went on to mor and then Jerome's. We ended up coming back to Ashley because of Richard. I purchased a tempurpedic mattress from here, the sales guy told us we will need an adapter piece for our bed frame we said that's fine and then he didn't sell it to us. We went back after our delivery to order it and they said they would come out and set it up and move everything over which they did not they just dropped off the adapter said that there was nothing on the paperwork and left. I really wish I had just ordered direct from the manufacturer. All you get out of ordering from Ashley is crappy customer service, incompetent delivery, and far too many headaches. We had a great experience at Ashley's in San Marcos! We met Andres on 2 different visits in the store. Very personable and knowledgeable about the products. He was not salesy like a lot of furniture sales people. On our 2nd visit we knew we wanted the couch that we had viewed the prior week. On top of Andres, we also interacted with Richard the store manager and he was super friendly and helpful, along with Joyce as well. She was walking around and was very friendly. We purchased our couch less than a month ago. The cushions are all sunken in and the ottoman is visibly higher than the couch. They sent a person out to look at it who pulled the cushions out, fluffed them, set them back on top and snapped a photo and then left. I should've went with my gut. Never order from a cheap place. Customer service is awful. Calling is impossible. Ordered a bed online. Received confirmation of delivery with a time slot. No one showed up: Called. Did online chat. No answers. Was disconnected multiple times. Still no answers. The only thing I learned was that all the pieces were not ready to be delivered....sooo, why did I get multiple emails and confirmations about a non existent delivery? Why email me at all saying delivery is being scheduled--don't you email only when something is ready? And it's fun to take time off of work for no reason other than waiting for a non-existent order. Stay away from this horrible company and their inability to perform basic functions of a business. Go to a place that cares about customers and hires people who have customer service skills. And after four days I receive the furniture's. If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. DO NOT SHOP HERE! I purchased a Queen mattress and box spring The box spring is defective...it's the wrong size. It's inches too short on all size...it's not even a full size. It's just defective. Mistakes happen, so let's fix it. No big deal, right? Just have them bring out the correct size, right? WRONG! First the Regional Manager has to approve it. Easy enough, right? Still wrong! He ignores his emails! So 2 weeks pass without heading anything. I went back into the store and asked again about getting a new box spring. They said the regional manager has to approve it (are we noticing a pattern of deflection here)? They resend the message to the regional manager. I was promised I'd receive a call the next day, it took 2 days, but that would've been fine if they resolved the problem. I had a call and they left a message saying they would credit my account or replace the box spring. Sounds good! I call to schedule it, only to find out they would need to send out a technician to inspect it, and then that person would submit their findings and we'd have to schedule YET ANOTHER person to come deliver and set up the box spring. So to get one bed delivered properly, it requires 3 days of missed work (1 for the original delivery, 1 for the inspection, and 1 to get the correct item). The missed days of work cost more than the bed and box spring! This was unacceptable, so I went back to the store (3rd time to deal with this!). The manager on site was most unhelpful. The customer service reps tried their best, but they have no control over the higher ups. So I went around and around with the manager trying to resolve this problem. He kept going back to the same (1) a tech comes out, and then (2) eventually you'll get a new box spring. But we don't know how long it'll be because of "supply chain" issues. Awful.I purchased a couch and was promised a delivery weeks ago. l got a call 1 day before it was scheduled to deliver and was told it was delayed a week. Same thing happens the next week. Here I am today getting another call for the late delivery tomorrow that is now expected next week. MICHAEL assured me the couch would arrive on time. I am definitely a satisfied customer and would do business with Joyce again and would absolutely recommend this store to anyone looking to add furniture to their home. They have a lot of different styles to fit almost any taste. Joyce greeted me the first time I walked in the store, showed me some items, got to know what I like and what I didn't. She went into detail about how their sofa bases are different than competitors, explained care for the items etc. She did a great job getting me a really fair price as well. If you decide to shop here go and ask for Joyce, she is really an awesome person, her story is great, and was overall extremely nice to work with. Delivery was great, they sent two texts to confirm a time window, mine was 8am-12pm, they called me promptly at 810am day of delivery and dropped it off easy-peasy. Recently shopped the San Marcos store with great optimism and ended up backing out/refunding my entire 5k order a few weeks later. Product seems OK, but my issue is with how the store is run and how you are made to feel. - sales reps are commissioned and swarm you like ants attempting to upsell any chance they can, especially with fancy mattresses. Pushy and persuasive! - store prices are much higher than the online price. Store will match, but only if you ask and they seem reluctant to give you the additional 10% offered online. Those who finance here are at a huge disadvantage if they go in wide-eyed, clueless and unaware of pricing/misleading sales tactics - the sales process is SLOW...we were here so long that I felt like I was at a car dealership. Interaction with staff stressed me out. Seriously, you're better off visiting the store to preview the product, walk out and order from your car or at home. - delivery is expensive, especially when you are charged $375 for white glove inside delivery without requesting it. Then extended warranty is added to the order, again without asking In summary I'll shop elsewhere next time. Living Spaces in comparison is exact opposite with nice, no commission based staff and great selection. I've had much better luck there. read more

Where do I start? Simply AVOID this store at all costs. On February 2, I came into the store and purchased a dresser and chest. Paid $1500 ish on my credit card. One chest was delivered about a week later. So far so good. The other item never showed up. No emails, no phone calls, nothing. I tried calling the San Marcos store and they don't answer. Calls go to a centralized call center and they cannot help nor tell you anything. In fact, the recorded message tells you that you can chat online with customer service (not true...that doesn't work.) Put in a case with their centralized customer service and was told that we would get a call back in 24 to 48 hours. Well that never happened and now the ordered was voided from my account information but guess what - no money back on my credit card. I keep getting emails saying "prepare for delivery" but the rep when I calls says there are no orders and no one seems to know what happened to my $1500. They void a charge on their end but not with a credit card company. So now I have to drive 30 miles to go into the store to get this resolved? Unacceptable! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Avoid this store at all costs! Ordered a console from them that arrived chipped, assembled wrong and a different color. When I called, customer service was very rude and initially refused to replace the item. After a long back and forth with them, they finally agreed to replace their damaged item. The replacement console came with missing parts and the delivery men scratched up the floors when setting it up. I called customer service again regarding the missing parts, only for the operator to tell me " I don't have a manager" after being rude and dismissive. If this is their customer service, no wonder the store is terrible from top to bottom...still waiting on them to bring the missing parts they said they would two weeks ago. My husband and I went into the store looking for a dresser, we noticed the store was quite empty for a weekend but didn't put to much thought into it. we knew exactly what we wanted so we headed straight to pay. We open store credit since the 0% interest for a year was a great deal, knowing we could easily pay off before then. The store associate informed us we would have to pay for the tax & set up fee since they could not finance that.we specifically said we were NOT interested in the set up $140 fee but would pay the tax of $69 with our debt card. When my husband we t to sign the receipt he noticed they had charged us for the set up fee anyway. AGAIN we said we did NOT need the set up so we asked them to remove it and credit back the Amount to our card but they said they would just cancel the transaction. And the money would go back to our bank account immediately. Of course they didn't It's been 2 1/2 weeks of calling them to no avail and we are out $209.00 because of someone's stupidity. I finally called they manager and was told they credited our Ashley account, I was stunned! Why Would you do that??? I asked? That money should have gone to our bank account! All I know is this store must be so hard up to stay in business they are willing to swindle customers anyway they Can out of their money. I will never buy from them again and recommend no else does either. This company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. First, the stated they voided a charge when they only voided it on their end and not with my credit card company. I called their customer service after 2 weeks when the charge was still showing on my account and they confirmed it was voided but that it could take 14 business days to reflect on my end. When my credit card company said it was still showing as a valid charge I physically went back to the store (rather than calling customer service again) and was told they mistakenly only voided it on their system and never credited me back almost $2k. If I had not physically gone into the store this would not have been resolved. Then when confirming the delivery date the sales person had provided they told me that was incorrect and it would be an additional 2 weeks for one item and 4 weeks for another. I was upset, but there was nothing I could do. When the first item arrived it arrived cracked and had to be refused. I was told a new one would deliver in 2 more weeks. The day before that delivery was expected I called to confirm my delivery window and was told that my delivery was cancelled because I never confirmed. However NO ONE contacted me to confirm. I asked for a supervisor and was told no one was working in their escalation department (though it was noon on a non-holiday Friday). It's impossible to get in touch with anyone at the actual store and the main customer service department apparently doesn't have any supervisors to handle escalated customer service calls. I will NEVER step foot into that store again and will NEVER recommend it to anyone. read more

Listen to all the other one star reviews. The furniture is cheap and plasticy and not real wood in a lot of cases. I bought a bed there a few years back and the wood split from normal wear and tear. On the warranty card it says frames have a lifetime warranty, but in actuality it's only a year and they won't cover it. I got the run around from customer service and they can't tell my why the warranty says lifetime, but is only a year. Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. The store manager wouldn't give me the time of day. Their corporate customer service person couldn't escalate my call to a supervisor because no one was around at 3 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. Let me start by saying that I was EXTREMELY hesitant on purchasing here after reading the Yelp reviews- most relating to a poor delivery process. My family had a furniture company growing up and purchased from the Ashley warehouse to supply their store. As of two years ago and now retired, they purchased from the Ashley Home store in Arizona for their new home and had a really great experience, thus encouraging me to try them out as they said the company always makes things right and the furniture is a better quality than Living Spaces. On Saturday, I brought them along to give me their insight on couches such as fabric and cushion foam density. We were greeted at the front by a gentleman that gave us his card and let us know about current sales. He followed up with us about 10 min. later to see if we have any questions and said that it was his last day, but if we found something we liked, he would try to get us the best price. We walked around the showroom some more (the showroom is clean and organized) and tested a few more couches, then asked him about couches that were good for a household with a toddler and dog. He was thorough and patient, but also gave us our space and didn't hoover. Thankfully, I felt no pressure from him at all. We finally settled on a sofa and love seat and asked him what he could offer us as the best out the door price including the tax, shipping and 5 year protection warranty. He came back with a figure of $1770 (both couches were regular price $840) and that the price included shipping ($117), 5 year protection plan and tax. So what would have cost us over $2,000 out the door, ended up being significantly less! He said the items were in stock and that the delivery could be done two days later, on Monday. He gave us his business card again with his cell # and said we could call him for any questions, even though it was his last day. I got a text yesterday from Ashley confirming today's delivery and followed the tracking online. Today, we received our shipment during the time requested (9:45A-1:45P) and they were at my door by 10:15A. The one bad thing I have to say is the delivery guys never called to give me a 30 minute window. Luckily my family hadn't left the house yet to head back home and were there for the delivery, otherwise I probably would have missed it. My recommendation is to follow the tracking online every 15 min. or so, refreshing the map to see where their truck is located. It will say their ETA and show where their truck is, and if they are on stop before yours, which they indicate, I would head home ASAP. If I didn't already have someone at my home, I would have left when I saw them on the previous stop or in my general area, assuming they would probably be there within the hour. Overall, take your chances with these reviews. I feel badly for the people that had such a poor experience, but I'm so grateful my experience was positive and I received beautiful items with quality service. Lastly, I just received a call from Ashley asking about my experiencing and if the delivery went well, so its a good thing they follow up! read more

First let me say we like the furniture we selected. They had a lot of options in the store and delivery time was acceptable, especially with covid delays. The buying process was straightforward. We bought multiple rooms of new furniture and spent in $8000+. We also have the extended warranty. However, the rest of the experience with Ashley has been very disappointing. Several pieces were delivered with damage. Delivery person took photos but we now understand that we should have denied the order. Which would have been a big hassle for our family. We have the warranty and thus far have had a very challenging experience in working to get resolved. The store mgr Abdul has been horrible to deal with. We have a case opened and a technician is scheduled for April 8th. This is brand new furniture that we are not satisfied with. It should be replaced. If we had these pieces for months it would be different. But we have had them for less then 2 weeks and reported the issues immediately. Very disappointed with Ashley and the customer service in general. We would not recommend Ashley at this point to anyone. read more

Their furniture is actually decent quality. Their salespeople are great. But their customer service after the sale is absolutely horrendous. They hang up on you. They ignore you. I bought a decent amount of furniture, got home same day, looked at the receipt, and realized they overcharged me. Not much but $250. The manager told me he would credit it to my card. That was about 3 months ago, still not received the credit. I called talked to rude representatives at corporate. They promised me they would fix it. Still not credit. I called back talked to a manager at corporate, same promise, she even promised to call me back, literally nothing happened. I've now spent hours on hold waiting to talk to rude employees, months waiting for my credit. Me paying interest on the money they borrowed from me. Absolutely pathetic. After waiting about 90-days for them to credit me what they told me they would, I finally just disputed it through my credit card. Now my remote control breaks on the fireplace I bought from them. I reach out to see if I could buy a new one, they literally just told me in the chat they couldn't help me. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT do business with them. It's one thing to have a bad employee or two but literally no one would help me at corporate. It's clearly a training issue and not worth the headache of trying to get them to do what's right. read more

Went here last week and we were greeted at the door which is usual. The employee, Kyle, introduced himself and said if we needed assistance he could help us. We thought we had parted ways, but as my husband and I browsed the floor he followed us. It made me uncomfortable. He would also interrupt us to give his two cents when we were trying to have a conversation and discuss the furniture with each other. Overall it made me uneasy being followed and we left without viewing what we wanted to. I won't be going back to this store. Really wished I would have seen the reviews before going in. The reviews that talk about the customer service post purchase are spot on. The customer service is horrendous! We went in to buy a desk and chairs. The sales person stated that there were delay's in the deliver schedule, but we could pick up the furniture at the Colton warehouse if needed. We went forward with the purchase and the option to pick up. The sales rep stated there were appointments available for pick up next day. When I called the Colton store to arrange for the pick up, they stated that they would not allow a pick up for 10-days. When I called back, they literally said they could not help. What's crazy is when we were checking out we heard two other sales folks mentioning the pick up option. Ashley's has to know that they are lying to their customers. You can't tell me the warehouse in Colton would be all over that if it was truly a mistake because it's obvious all the sales reps using that as an option. The Colton warehouse claims it's because of COVID? Let me get this straight, Ashley will allow you on the showroom floor for as long as you want to make the sale, indoors. However, it's too dangerous to pick boxes up on a loading dock outside? Whatever you do, go someplace else. It's not worth working with deceptive and unethical companies. read more

Everyday that passes is going to be more lost points. In-store, things were fine the two times we went in. The Sales Associate was pretty patient through the whole thing. We definitely found a much better deal and selection with mattresses elsewhere, but were decently happy with the dining room table and couches. THEN, not two hours after we left and paid for our furniture, did I find the exact same table and chairs on-line on Ashley Furniture's website for LESS THAN A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS (as in $500!) While I'm calling the Sales Associate back to discuss this, I notice on the receipt that he ADDED a $500 Furniture Warranty WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ME! Must've thought I was that tired and had enough on the ticket that I really wouldn't notice. He was right - for two hours. How deceptive and UNACCEPTABLE! So now I've spent FOUR DAYS trying to get through to the store. Impossible. Even when I get kicked to the company's general Customer Service line they can't even get through. I spoke with the Sales Associate that night, who said he was off-shift and would call me the next day. Three days later and I'm still waiting. I can't believe they are going to force me to drive all the way back to deal with this. Such a shame because we were originally happy, but not to be deceived and cheated out of $1,000. BE WARY!!!! Went into Ashley in San Marcos after visiting both Jerome's and Mor. While I understand marketing, I don't understand blatently misrepresenting pricing to non-saavy clients. Entire store 50% off? Sounds great? Except exactly what you may think is true, actually is: the listed prices are drastically marked up. I found the exact same sofa recliner that I was looking at in Jerome's; with a sticker price of $1100. Ashley's sticker price $3300. The simple math makes that 50% a complete and unfair rip off of anyone that hasn't shopped around. I would never trust any company that so directly attempts to take advantage. So my future purchases won't include Ashley's. Which, is a shame because the store is nice and has a lot of nice design ideas. I guess I'll just browse. I really wish I saw all of these reviews before we spent money and wasted time. - we ordered on Oct. 20th and still haven't received all of our furniture (it's 12/4 at this post). Which is basically enough to never go to this place - and some pieces that did come came broken...so we have to wait for those as well - it seems the arrival dates are always changing...
