I would never buy or recommend this place again to anyone. I order a sectional from them 6 weeks ago. At the store they told 2-3 weeks but probably won't take past 2. I called at the beginning of the 4th and 5th week the guy I spoke to said any day now it should be in. At the end of the 5 th week they called to set up delivery. They told me they could only do next Wednesday Nd if I needed another day I wouldn't get it until the end of October which is 4 weeks later. My roommate took the day off for Delivery on Wednesday. When I asked for a time they told me they would call me back Nd never did. I called back to switch the phone number since I wouldn't be home. I also asked to give some instructions to where to park once they r here. She told me that I can only switch the number but I can't give instructions until I get a call saying they r 30 mins away. The next day while I'm at work I get a call not the number I switched it to and they didn't give me a 30 min warning they told me they r here Nd already started unloading outside. Once they brought it in my roommate noticed a rip in the chaise. Once I got home I examined it and say tht the back had a huge hole Nd the back wasn't put in correction causing it to come undone. The stables Nd stiching was coming undone Nd there was 4 holes on the side. I called to get the piece replaced and I spoke to 3 different people who offered me to have a tech come and patched it. one of them even said she can't see the damage in the photos. We have been looking to buy a set of end tables so we went to ashleys in salem nh were greeted by an employee as we came in and asked what we were looking for? Told him two living room end tables in black! So he started to show us around and all the brown ones then told us if we find something it would be 8 to 10 weeks before are order could be filled! Is said your kidding he said no because of the virus no one is working to fill orders,so we looked around and found 2 in, black but it was a set in clearance that came with a coffee table ,we told him don't need the coffee table he said we wont break up a set take it all or nothing so we said good by!!!! Really you would let a sale walk out over a coffee table?? As we were leaving he followed us to the door and watched us from the front of the store,not only making us feel very uncomfortable !!! felt like we were going to steal something oh yah stuff a oversized couch under your top!!! never again will we go to this place and be treated as we were.I hope other see this and keep clear of this store. read more

Do not order from Ashley homestore online they sent my furniture in two different methods the sleigh bed came ups and the chest of drawers was delivered by Cardi's furniture. I paid 139.00 online for the setup fee. Two guys walked in carried the draws up took the plastic off and I said I need the bed setup they said we don't do that. Called customer service they said the setup is only for furniture delivered from the store itself not the UPS delivery very angry I am sure they take advantage of a lot of new customers this said world we live in. I have been soooo disappointed in the quality of the Lorac sectional I ordered. It has lumpy back cushion uneven base cushions, basically caving in in one corner and the pilling is disgusting... Its like a $3 sweater quality in the material department.. and guess what Ashley does not care!!! They sent more stuffing and told me to buy a sweater shaver. Their customer service rep Jason sent out new cushions and fill, but that only helped until you decide you want to sit on the couch and down it goes again.. I wish this couch was better quality because in the store it looked great. I will never shop here again read more

I'm shocked by all the negative reviews on here. Yesterday was my second time making a purchase at Ashley Furniture in Salem NH. I was helped by the store manager Fran & she was fantastic. No pressure sales tactics, very knowledgeable, answered all my questions. Very helpful & made my purchase very easy & stress free. I cannot speak to delivery since that has not occurred yet but I am happy with the previous purchase made from here & the experience that time was also stress free. Walked in a greated with a really warm welcome. Everyone introduced them selves to me and my family. Salesman Markino was very helpful. Got me into the bedroom set I was really looking for. Was very thorough in explaining all details about the set, financing, etc. He was very friendly. The manager frances was very nice and sat down to to talk to us, even held my baby boy. He liked her. I'm a little pissed with this furniture company and their terrible management for scheduling and delivery. Twice I was misinformed on their delivery date and the second time no one bother to give me a call or send a message. Instead, I called to find out that my delivery was scheduled for today (which I scheduled time off from work), but there was a "glitch in their system" and could not be delivered. My sister lives in Salem, NH and suggested we go to Ashley Furniture. I had been to several furniture stores before and sales people just hounded and stalked me. When we arrived at Ashley we were met by a very nice gentleman and told us to look around and if we need help, just ask. He was busy with another customer when we had questions, so Frances Gauthier stepped in. She was wonderful and very easy to work with. Answered all my questions and helped me find the perfect couch for my room. I was told it would take 3 weeks for delivery and it was! We wish we had read yelp before we bought from this store. TV Stand we bought was flimsy and included construction mistakes that were just "passed on". Ashley's poor excuse at customer service was nothing but "lip service", in which THEY told US what they would do, and never responded again after we told them that was not acceptable. read more

If I could give this review negative stars I would. Purchased a living room set less than 4 years ago with a protection plan. Three months ago I filed a claim as springs are starting to pop up in the cushions. The protection plan company is dragging out the process as they claim they need the technician who visited my house to define what defective means. Laughable. I contacted Ashley customer service directly and was told that they no longer use this protection company and there's nothing they can do for me. Shame on me for expecting furniture to last more than three years in a room we don't even use daily. I would never buy from Ashley again as their product is clearly below standards and there is no recourse when something goes wrong. They claim to offer a one year warranty against defects, so if you only need the furniture for a year, this is the place to shop. Once your check clears, you're on your own. I gotta admit, after reading the prior reviews i was scared to give this place a shot. I had purchase at Ashleys in 2009, and it was a disaster, received my recliner 6 weeks from purchase. I went to this place last month decided to give them another chance. Let me tell you, they succeeded and giving this location a complete 360. I was pleased with the service of the salespeople, very knowledgeable. The furniture came in within 2 weeks, which i couldn't believe when i saw the Ashley name in my phone 2 weeks after i made the purchase. Quite Frankly, every ones entitled to their own opinion, but this place has done a turnaround for the better. Better salespeople, Better customer service, Better communication...Happier Customers. I was sorry to see my last review was "not recommended" as I had written it about the great customer service I received from Frances, the store manager. I received the furniture on 4/19/14 as promised. I was pleased with the delivery guys and the set up, etc. Furniture is nice, looks nice, and appears to be in good condition. I am sorry that others have not been happy with this store but I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe those who were unhappy should call Frances directly as she was tops in customer service in my book. read more

went to the ashley store from a firends advice and she was spot on. I was greeted by a wonderful salesperson named Frances and she could not have been any nicer . She knew what i was looking for because she let me tell her and she listened to everything i said and took me to what she thought i would like. She got it right. I did not just like it i loved it. I had such a good time . When you are spending your hard earned money you want the salesperson to get it right and she did. She was very upfront about del times and costs.She also explained that they could be delays which i told her no big deal. I went into Ashley Furniture store to look at couches with my husband because I had heard positive things from friends about their furniture and service. Its been a long time since we have made a major purchase such as this and we didn't want to rush into it. The staff were friendly and not too pushy and gave us some good information about the different brands and their warranties. The manager, Rob, really helped us decide on a model and made us feel very secure in our choice. I would highly recommend a visit! read more

This is not a product review -- this is purely a customer service review and their complete disregard to help. We purchased a dining table set back on 4/30 they told us that they will call us to set up a delivery date and to hold off on calling because they will contact us. We called about a week later just to get an update and they told me that by the 11th someone from the warehouse will call to set up a delivery date. NO ONE CALLED! we let the weekend pass and on the 14th my dad called the store and someone told him "you will get it when you get it, not all the pieces are in so be patient and when they come in you will know" serious!?!??! I called the store and spoke to the manager Glenn who I quote "I will personally call the warehouse and make sure someone calls you!" I waited all day no one called me!! so this morning I called them and when I mentioned I spoke to the manager Glenn I immediately got cut off and was told he's off today you can call back tomorrow?? so I said I'm sorry but I would just like to know the status of my delivery because he said the warehouse would call me to set up a time but no one called he said "you can call the warehouse yourself and proceeded to give me the number" followed by a bye. Well I call the warehouse and the lady that answered the phone told me the pieces just came in this moment?? hold up how when Glenn told me they were all in last week?? she then proceeded to tell me that I have to wait until the end of the week to get it delivered and thats just how they do it. well this is just how I do it if no one will listen to me on the phone then I will be making sure that everyone hears about my experience. I know that most people will just see this as a complaint and say they're just doing their job. But I have been in the customer service industry and went to college for it and I know this is not how you treat customers!! I am not looking to get a free product we paid extra for someone to come assemble it I was just looking for an explanation of why this process is taking so long -- If they weren't a shady company they would have disclosed before purchasing the product how long everything takes -- but they don't even provide a space to write a review on their website and you can only call customer service if you have a problem with your online purchase and if you have a problem with a in-store purchase to call the store!? We bought a dinning set in August which we really love. We loved the fact that the chairs could be separated to entertain and accommodate guest. We follow the instruction and took it apart for the holidays. Since that day the furniture has been falling apart. I believed most of the smaller screws have all fallen off; the chair legs are now weak and wobbly. We first noticed this because our 3 year old was constantly coming to us with little screws asking us what it was. That was when it hit us that the screws were falling off the chairs. We don't know what to do but this will be the last item we purchase from Ashley. We've owned the furniture for 5 months and it's falling apart. This is unacceptable as we are still paying for a broken furniture. It is also scary as a parent to have your 3 yr. old come to you with small screws. He could have been hurt. read more

I bought a leatherlike recliner and sectional there about 18 months ago. It looked good, they have a nice selection, and the service was fine, but the quality of the items is really poor. I can understand why the seat of the recliner is somewhat shredded- that is due to my dog; but my husband has been home after surgery for a little over 2 weeks now and has been sitting in it quite a lot...the top back where he lays his head is all cracked and wearing away- just from that. The cushioning in the sectional has also lost it's firmness, and we do not sit on it all that much. Next time I will go somewhere else to buy quality furniture. (and that means no Bob's or Bernie's!) read more

Avoid buying anything at this Ashley Furniture or you will regret it. Please take heed of these reviews. I had a store credit for over $200 and called to ask if this amount could be transferred to another store. I was told "yes" over the phone and that I should come into the store so that this could be taken care of. After driving from Boston today, I was told by the manager at Ashley's in Salem that they could not transfer the store credit to another store because each store is individually owned. The fact that an employee told me that they could do this over the phone represents terrible customer service. I would recommend that you shop at Bernie and Phyl's as their customer service is one thousand times better and their staff is so much more professional. read more

Buying Ashley Furniture it is like putting my money in trash because.I bought furniture from Ashley retailer I order it in sclamos like nov2014 and I got the order by 2015may and with in 8 months from then it started peeling off .if I call retailer he says call Ashley and Ashley Says I have nothing to do with u because u bought from my retailer like this my warranty is finished recently .I posted review abt sclamos recently then that guys started responding ,first they said they don't have representative while the warranty says there representative will come and judge .now some how they found representative but they are asking for serial number on sofa but I can't find any where that sticker . I would recommend going here if you are looking for decent furniture but terrible customer service. My girlfriend and I recently purchased a complete bedroom set. The quality of the furniture is pretty good (although 2 drawers on the bureau do not seem to stay closed very well). My big issue is the mattress I ordered in the store was a firm what was delivered was a plush. I was at work when the furniture delivered and my girlfriend wasn't aware the mattress I ordered was supposed to be a firm. I realized the mistake when I arrived home that night and called the store in the morning to request the mattress be swapped. After being put on hold for 5 minutes, the salesman (Jeff) I placed the initial order with got on the phone. I told him the situation and he put me on hold again for at least another 5 minutes. Someone else picked up after being on hold for an extended period of time and asked who I was calling for, I informed them again why I was on the phone and who I was calling for. The salesman, Jeff, picked up the phone and said there won't be an issue with swapping out the mattress and someone would call me within the next week to setup the swap. After hanging up the phone I sent a follow up email to their customer service email address reconfirming my recent conversation. Well the following week came with no call. On the Friday at the end of the week that someone was supposed to call I called again and believe it or not was told someone would be calling me shortly. I also sent follow up emails to the the customer service email and Jeff's work email address. Still no call or follow up. I have all but given up. You would like to think that when a store makes an error they would be quick to fix it, but you won't find that at the Ashley Furniture Homestore in Salem, NH. The only reason I gave them a second star is my girlfriend informed me that the delivery team was extremely friendly and helpful. If you decide to go there don't expect honest service and if the salesman, named above, approaches you I would recommend asking for someone else. read more

I had been shopping for weeks on end for a TV media/console as well as living room furniture for my relatively small condo. I went to several other big name furniture stores in/near the Merrimack Valley area in Massachusetts. I found nothing that I liked. Then I walked into the Ashley Home Furniture store in Salem, NH. Almost immediately I found that I really liked the style of furniture that they offered. And when I met Sales Consultant Markino Mathurin, I felt for the first time during my search that he actually listened to what I had to say, understanding what I was looking for, and showed me things that were relevant and in my price range. The store was nearly closing but he never hurried me along.... gave me all the time I needed. I came back two weeks later with my sister and bought the TV console and a sectional sofa. I can hardly wait for them to be delivered. I also had previously bought an Ashley Furniture bedroom set... which I love. I am EXTREMELY upset with this store and company. I love their furniture but the warranty sale was a complete scam. I bought my living room set a little over 1 year and I specifically asked what did the warranty NOT cover. I was told, it covers everything with the exception of pet incidents. 2 days ago a part of my ceiling collapsed and caused some water damage to my sofa. When I called, I was told to call the insurance company to file a claim and that it would be taken care of. In hopes that my sofa would either be replaced or professionally cleaned, I called the insurance company. They told me that it was considered a "natural disaster" and they do not cover that. First of all, not sure how that is even considered a "natural disaster". It's not like a hurricane took my roof of or a tree fell through my roof. Furthermore, it seems that Ashley Furniture employees and management have no clue on the policies and coverage of insurance company that they work with works. Lastly, I was told it would be taken care of and at the end of it all, they did NOTHING. When a company cannot stand by what they promise their customers, they loose my respect. Lets say I knew I was in for a treat when I seen my moms receipt and it read $160 for a lamp... But other than that the customer service was terrible and I should have went with my mom cause when you purchase something they actually notify the warehouse in Chicago and it takes 6-8 weeks to get delivered.. YES 6-8 WEEKS!! We all live in Boston so they said the whole 8 weeks cause they ship it to the store in NH and who knows why it took so long to get to us. Overall my mom spent over $4000 for bad Customer Service when we called to check on our delivery every representative had something different to say. I told my mom to go to BOBS or somewhere else but she did not listen and now I feel sorry for her. If you don't believe my post look at all of the other 1 star post on here with the same issues. I read so many bad delivery reviews on this site that I actually hesitated to buy a dining room set from the store, but I had a great experience. When I ordered the set, they told me it would be 2-3 weeks before they got it and they would then call me about a delivery date. They called me after 2 1/2 weeks and told me what day they could deliver it (the following Tuesday) and that they would call the day before with a 3-hour delivery window. Well, it's very difficult for me to take time off without a lot of advance notice, so I asked if they ever delivered in my area on Mondays (my day off). They said yes, and said they could do it the following Monday. They called yesterday (Sunday) with the 3-hour window, and the delivery guys called me today to let me know they would be here about a half hour later. They were here when they said they'd be and they were very polite, efficient, and careful with the furniture. read more

Like many of the reviews here, I was told the day I paid for the furniture a date that it would be delivered. The first time it wasn't delivered we called. We were told a different date and an excuse as to way it wasn't delivered. My wife and I understand things happen so we weren't too worried about it. I didn't have work that day anyway. The second date comes around and no furniture. This time I had to take the morning off work to wait for them to show up. We call again and they had no excuse and no remorse that they did not hold up their end of the deal. We talked to a "manager" and we were assured it would arrive on this new date. The last date rolls around and I take off work again and you guessed it, no furniture on the times the listed. I call again and was told it would be there in 45mins. I wait the 45mins an still no furniture. I can't wait and had to go back to work. They apparently show up 4-6 hours later, and leave my furniture in the rain. I get home to not only find that out, but to see there are tears and scratches in the leather sofas. I guess someone was mad we actually expected the furniture to get there on time? Read and listen to the majority of the bad reviews on here. They are all 100% true as I now realize from this experience. If there was a way to get the pay I had lost taking those mornings off and somehow bring this company to the ground I would. Terrible costumer service and terrible business practice from Ashley Furniture. Good luck to all new costumers you have been warned. read more
