PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NEVER BUY FROM HERE. I have had the worst experience ever with this business. I'll start off with my initial interaction in store purchasing my queen bed set. Firstly, the so called "manager" Tara Tabacek (Glenwood location) was clearly intoxicated when she helped me. I could smell the profuse smell of alcohol on her breath. She was pushy and very unprofessional. However, I was in desperate need of furniture so I continued. The mattress that I tried in the store, is not the same mattress at all that I purchased. The mattress that was delivered is the worst mattress I have every laid on. Along with the mattress being very uncomfortable, the box spring is made of the cheapest material (which I paid $200 for) and sounds the bed is going to break every time I move on the bed. So, I called customer service and the representative on the phone told me "you have to wait 90 days to try out the mattress, and after 90 days if you do not like it you can go in store and exchange it/pay the difference if you get a more expensive one." So then I suffered for 90 days with this piece of crap mattress, box spring, and really the whole foundation of the bed itself. After 90 days was up, I went into the store and told the manager I would like to exchange the mattress. She looked completely dumbfounded and told me that since 90 days was up, the WARRANTY WAS VOIDED AND SHE COULD DO NOTHING TO HELP ME. Wtf? This is the first encounter where Ashley Furniture scammed me. Now let me get to the second part. I thought since I couldn't exchange my mattress, maybe I could at least get the box spring looked at and to see if it needed to be replaced. After much frustration with customer service, they finally sent out a service agent. This is where the second part of the scam comes into play. The service agent takes apart my bed, says to me the box spring needs to be replaced, and that "Ashley Furniture is known for having very cheap furniture. This box spring is probably worth $20 dollars. I see this problem all the time." He then proceeds to tell me he has to call another representative through Ashley Furniture, because he does not work for Ashley Furniture, he works through another company that helps assist with issues likes this. Again, wtf??? He reaches the representative on the phone and tells her he is here with me at my home and that the box spring is damaged and it needs to be replaced. She says, OK, and asks me to verify that this is true, which I do. He has me sign my name of the documentation (on this personal phone which I thought was weird but I was glad to get the help that I was looking for) Fast forward a month and a half and I have not heard anything. So I contact Ashley Furniture multiple times, through their chat system and their telephone number. Both times I had issues to speak with someone. I gave up on the telephone number because I would be on wait for hours, and then when someone would pick up they would hang up. The chat system they told me that is was "out of their service area" and they couldn't help me. I responded, well that's interesting I used the same communication to have a service agent come to my house to look at my box spring. Surprisingly, but not surprisingly, all of a sudden someone was available to assist me. I told them I was waiting for my box spring to arrive, they looked up my phone number and told me everything had been addressed and nothing needed to be replaced. They exact words were "The notes I'm showing in my system show that the evaluation of your foundation lead to a successful restoration and there were no rips, tears, or stains found. There are no notes that a replacement was needed to be ordered." WTF again?? I told the agent that was a lie, and he proceeded to tell me "I don't see any notes in my system regarding an exchange. I only see that this issue was resolved and the squeaking of you bed came from the foundation rubbing against the bed frame." (Yes, the foundation that I just paid $2,000 for a couple months ago that sounds like I've had it 20 years). When I told the representative I wanted to see the paperwork I signed, he said he "would let the service team know I wanted it." And when I asked for another service agent to come out again, he told me no one could because its already been "resolved" At that point, I was so infuriated with Ashley Furniture. They lied to me repeatedly over and over again, and made me look like a liar. Nothing was every resolved. I'm stuck with cheap furniture that I cannot return. I'm sleeping on a bed that I'm still paying for that gives me back pain. Also, to make matters worse, the night stands and dresser I also purchased are already peeling. I really wish I could return everything. Ashley Furniture is a fraud and a scam and they should be out of business. I'm also taking this to the BBB because I'm sure I not the first to have this issue. Please, never, ever, buy anything from Ashley Furniture. read more
