Then they schedule me TWO weeks later for the correct item to come. I have taken 2 days off work and they still can't get it right. I am thankful to the number of other recent reviewers that warned about their terrible experience with long furniture delivery delays and difficulties cancelling their orders. I purchased furniture from Ashley years ago with no issues, so felt I could trust this business. My husband and I made a quick decision and ordered a sectional sofa yesterday and after coming home to read all of the recent 1 star Yelp and BBB reviews of this location, we decided we didn't want to risk this potential scam. We also noticed that although we were told our sectional would be delivered in 6 weeks "or sooner", our receipt specified nothing about delivery date. This is a big red flag and consistent with other negative reviews. There is a 3 day window to receive a full refund according to their store policy. We called today to cancel the order and we're told we would have to wait for our specific service representative to contact us (surprise-he's not working today!) That is a ridiculous policy if it exists. After an hour trying to make headway on the phone and get ahold of the general manager, my husband and I just drove out to the store to speak to the manager Ric in person. He had the paperwork ready for our cancelation since he had been warned we were on our way by the phone rep. There were no apologies about how difficult it was to receive a refund, and we are honestly still unsure it will actually come through. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ANY ASHLEY FURNITURE!!! when I went to this one on glenwood the lady was very unhelpful and rude! She had no idea what she was talking about and did not seem interested in helping at all! When I told her I was going to find the bed online to show her the price her exact words were "well, good luck with that!". So I went to find another worker who was helpful but the experience since then has been awful! First they charged me $140 for delivery fee since you don't really have a choice to pick up yourself, then after already waiting three weeks for the bed they called the day before to tell me that there was a production delay and I wouldn't have the bed for another week and a half, after calling and telling them I wanted my delivery fee back, which they said they would but it wouldn't be reimbursed until it was delivered, it is not 3 days before the second supposed delivery date and now they say it's going to be another two weeks!! I am in absolute disgust with this and WILL be canceling my order and advise you to steer away from this company. read more

WORST COMPANY! DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE. We went to Ashley because it was close and I liked a few things online. There weren't any problems while we were in the store. We purchased a king bed frame set and a mattress set. We picked the particular bed we did because the salesman said it was solid wood. We picked a delivery date 2 weeks from purchase because we needed it to be on a Saturday. I was looking at the bed online to show my Mom and noticed that it said it was made of wood veneer and engineered wood, NOT solid wood as it was sold to us. We went back to the store to speak with the sales associate and he said that it is wood and that they have no beds that are just carved wood. I was unhappy that he lied to us and so we picked a different bed and he gave us the mattress protector for free. Flash forward to the scheduled delivery. We received confirmation on Thursday and a time on Friday. Later on Friday we get a call that the mattress isn't there so they only have the bed and the box springs. They push the delivery another week. So now it's been 3 weeks. We get a scheduled time of 1:30 - 4:30. 4:30 comes and goes with no delivery. We call and they say that they are very behind and won't be here until 6:30. This has killed our ENTIRE Saturday. I will never purchase anything from this company again. Horrible service. *Edited to add: The delivery guys did not show up until 7:45 pm! 3 hours PAST the scheduled delivery time. On top of that they brought us regular sized box springs and not the low profile. So our bed now comes above my waist and I have to jump to get into bed, not to mention I'm 6 months pregnant! My boyfriend and I bought a beautiful dining room set from them. We have had to push around the delivery date several times now due to them being late, damage to the table which required reordering, and now they are late again. I had a 1230-330 time block and it is now 5. When you call customer service no one picks up. Sometimes if you leave a message they call you back which is ridiculous because it's a quick response then why didn't they answer the phone?! Unbelievable. Will not be back. Ever. read more

THE SALES PEOPLE - We got lucky and had a great sales guy (Ask for Cam!). He knew his stuff, was very helpful, and wasn't annoying while we shopped. However, other visits to the Glenwood store show getting a good sales person is a gamble. They aren't all as good as him and of course most will stalk you as you walk around. That is just the sad reality of big furniture stores. THE PRODUCTS - We bought a living room and bedroom set from Ashley. Overall, we were happy with the furniture EXCEPT the mattress. I usually live by "you get what you pay for" so we got one of the more expensive mattresses there. It showed up damaged TWICE. Stay away from the $3300 Sterns and Foster hybrid they sell there. It's defective. I'm currently battling customer service to remedy this now. THE MATTRESS - Here is my lesson learned - Don't buy mattresses from a furniture store. Go to a mattress store. The Stearns and Foster mattress doesn't have the foam secured inside it so as soon as that thing goes on it's side or gets moved it folds over on itself and there is no way to fix it since it's sewn inside the mattress. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE DESIGN. DON"T BUY IT NO MATTER HOW GREAT IT FEELS IN THE STORE. DELIVERY - Hit or miss. They all showed up within the delivery window. First round of guys spoke no English at all, but they were nice enough to point out that the mattress didn't look right as they took it off the truck. Second round of guys were very friendly, but inexperienced. We'll see how the third round goes. It's not great, but they were on time and didn't damage the walls or anything. RETURNS/EXCHANGES and CUSTOMER SERVICE - "Customer Service" is not the people at the retail store. The stores are individually owned so the left hand doesn't always talk to the right there. If you've got a good sales rep they will try make things right within the store. Otherwise, the corporate customer service sucks. They don't care what you have to say. After the 2nd delivery of the defective mattress, i asked for a refund of it less than 24 hrs after delivery. "Not gonna happen" they tell me. They did offer an exchange, but I want a refund since the product is defective.However, I did have a better experience with the management at the store during the first exchange. They were way more willing and understanding than the customer service phone line. We'll see how the second exchange goes today....I'm not looking forward to it though. It's ridiculous enough that I'm being sent to the store again for a 3rd mattress now. Overall, this location isn't bad until unless you need to return something or have to deal with their corporate customer service, but that's a problem with the company, not the Glenwood store. It isn't a "We Appreciate Your Business - Keep the Customer Happy" kind of company. If you are unhappy with anything you'll have to do battle with them and based on other reviews I think you'll often lose. I came into the store on Capital by triangle mall and purchased my items on 2/28/2019. I was told my items would be delivered on March 25,19 I received a call 3/24 saying they don't have the items and their not sure when they will. I never heard back from them. I called customer service on April 1,19 to ask about my items they tell me they'll be delivered on April 3rd come April 3rd I call them and was told it will be delivered April 5th. On April 4th they call me and say that they only have the mirrors and No dressers !!! Do I want the Mirrors delivered I say absolutely NOT these are for my children so I will wait for them both!! They then say they don't know when they will have the items so I said I want to cancel! They then say it will be a charge of 10% to cancel WAIT I'm being charged because your company can not provide me the items !?!?! DO NOT BUY A MATTRESS HERE. So we got a Ashley's brand memory foam mattress because the one in the store was perfection. It was like lying on a cloud. My last review, I mentioned how the mattress we got was hard as a rock. We called and asked what they would do about it. They said they can't do anything. We escalated it. They called back and said even if we called the very next day after delivery there was nothing they would've done. So go to mattress firm or anywhere else that has a comfort guarantee. Because now we're stuck sleeping on a brick, our hundreds of dollars. Buyers beware: We purchased a couch and chaise lounge in Sept of last year. This couch and lounge are of a soft fabric, but that is where the joy has ended. The couch has developed squeaks, and it is decidedly sinking from the underwire support. The cushions are in great shape.. and it looks still nice, because we have taken excellent care of it, however, the structure of the couch is so poor it is not made to last even a year! We have been really unhappy to see how it has not held up to just simple day to day use. I tend to favor one side than the other, and sadly cannot use the favored side anymore as it sinks in so terribly I have no support. This is a total rip off and a shabby job from them. When one purchases a couch, one expects it to last for years! We have purchased another couch from their competitors and found this one to still be doing a great job after 12 years of use. I am terribly disappointed in the quality of this furniture and recommend that anyone purchasing from this place really beware! read more

My mattress was delivered damaged today. Delivery men used my dresser as a workspace, asked for my WiFi password, shoes on carpet and drove through my grass on exit. When reviewing my Nest footage of delivery....one driver put my queen size mattress on his back and proceeded to run it down my driveway without any help from the other driver. In and out of my home in no more that 10 minutes. Horrible customer service experience and extremely inconvenience since customer service was not able to gv any information on when a replacement could be rescheduled. I called the office to speak with a manager n was told that was not their process n that a manager would call me back. 13 hours later hv yet to hear from anyone. read more

I purchased what I thought was a brand new bedroom set. The delivery was scheduled between 10-2 and the item was finally delivered at 7:42 pm. The bed was fabric and wood and the fabric on the footboard was damaged. They hide the leg under the bed instead of attaching it. I called the delivery number and left a voice message and no returned call. I called the store two days later and they refused to replace or repair the item. James was nasty, rude and horrible!! Apparently, he thought it was cute (shameful)! I sent an email to Ashley Corporate and still nothing. $3,000 for a piece of trash with rude customer service. Do not purchase from Ashley Home Store. Raleigh- Glenwood Ave location. First, our salesman Matt was great. Very easy to work with. If I could rate individually here- I'd give Matt 5 stars, furniture 4 stars (if we ever get it all), management, customer service, and experience 0 stars. The furniture is nice - what you would expect from any chain furniture store (same as Rooms to Go, a local competitor, despite Asthey's manager contemptuously denying they are a competitor. They are.). My issue is with customer service and delivery of our furniture. We ordered our furniture 5 weeks ago and STILL do not have all the pieces of a sectional sofa! Even the first delivery date was nearly a month after purchase but since then the rest has been rescheduled twice. Granted this 2nd delivery date occurred the weekend hurricane Florence (I'll give them that) but this is the 2nd reschedule so it could have been ANY reason. And don't expect support from the local manager- RICK. He thought waiting nearly 2 months to get all the furniture (if we even get it all by then) was just fine and normal. This isn't furniture from overseas! He literally hid behind their slow and inept customer service and "hands are tied" mantra. It's funny how managers are nice when you're making a purchase but when you have an issue to discuss, all you get is argumentative words and condescending and sarcastic tone. We purchased other furniture from Rooms to Go (same quality) on the same day as this purchase and that was delivered within 1 week later. In fact, Rooms to Go touts this as a selling point in their advertising (delivery within a week unlike their competitors), so this prolonged delivery time must be a common occurrence. Based on some of these Ashley reviews, I'd say it is. Considering that to be true, and the unsupportive, unhelpful "manager" and the slow, sometimes unresponsive even customer service (never even called to cancel- I had to call them) that the local store hides behind, we will not be a repeat customer. We did receive our leather recliner couch on the date we were told but the recliner chair was going to be delayed 1 week. Now the day before it's supposed to be delivered I get a call, it's going to be 2 more weeks. I called the store, "since it's such a popular design it's on backorder" well that's funny, seems to be the response to every delay problem. Oh well live and learn. Gave the distribution supervisor or whomever she was turn by turn directions to my location.....When I called to see where they were 2 hours later I was told " OH the drivers went to the wrong address so you need to reschedule" WHAT!???! Ordered and paid in full for furniture on January 2, 2019, delivery scheduled for January 29, 2019. Received a call on January 27, 2019 to say furniture delivery date was pushed back until February 7, 2019. 13 months ago my husband and I opened an account through Synchrony bank just for Ashley Furniture. We made several large purchases and paid off the account two weeks ago. We decided to go get a couple odds and ends for our apartment today only to be told that our account was closed. I understand that it wasn't actually Ashley that did the credit card but it's a bank that they gave our information to and had us use. The lady who helped us on the sales floor was nice but the lady who was behind the desk was rude! Overall just a bad experience and we will NOT be returning to an Ashley store again. read more

Needless to say, I spent hours of my time selecting and purchasing furniture for my beach condo. Set up a delivery date of 5/8/18. Didn't receive a call or message regarding delivery timeframe so I called on 5/7. Lo and behold they had somehow put in a 8/8/18 delivery date. After countless phone calls to multiple people within their establishment, I was told that due to the circumstances they were able to set up a "special delivery" to get it to me on 5/15. That never happened!! I ended up canceling all of my orders and am awaiting a credit. Was told that would definitely happen this week and I would not be charged any fees whatsoever. I was on the hunt for a headboard with my mom and I had a pretty limited budget. When I arrived at Ashley's I was greeted by Greg at the door and he showed me a few styles I was interested in near my price range. I ended up going with something with a very different style than I intended, but he was able to reduce the price to counteract the shipping cost. He kept me in my $300 price range! I just moved to NC and purchased all my furniture from Ashley. Now the sales people in the store, super nice. We had Carlos who has been very accommodating. Now for the product...it took a total of 6months to receive our full order. Every order (it's come in 4 different shipments over the 6mo. period) has been damaged and missing pieces. I do love the look and it's comfortable but the constant damage and waiting for a repair is ridiculous. I purchased a three-piece sectional in May of 2018. As soon as it was delivered, I noticed the left arm corner of the sofa was showing a lack of some filling. I didn't make a big deal out of it because I thought, going forward, I might be able to fix it since there was a zipper at the bottom of that area where I could access the problem. Going forward to this year, the back rest of the chaise and two back rests of the sofa were showing the signs of the filling disappearing. I called Ashley, and they had a box of filling sent to me, and then they had a service person come in and fix the problem. It looks okay right now, but I'll update if the problem exists again. Also, the small piece of Velcro that is supposed to keep the cushions in place is a joke. The Velcro is about 3"x2", and doesn't keep the cushions in place. As a result, I'm constant having to push the cushions back. Needless to say, I have to give Ashley Furniture 2 stars, and that's being generous. Their product is less than satisfactory, and I don't think I'll ever purchase from them again. read more

Their gift cards are a total scam! they dont work online and expire in 6 months, I tried to use in store but could not as system was down, then it expired... My $2300 couch was damaged so they gave me a $150 gc, also like others my couch was delayed by 2 weeks, i read the reviews and somewhat expected delay but damaged was not expected... The store is great to look in but the company needs to resolve this, you cannot deliver a damaged good then compensate with a giftcard system that does not work! in store prices are %20 higher then online, so be sure to get them to price match! read more

The customer service of this company is deplorable. I ordered a couch, ottoman and two chairs in August of 2021 and was told they would be delivered on September 18, 2021. The day before the delivery, I received a call from them that only the couch would be delivered. Ok, I get supply chain issues in the time of Covid, so I gave them some grace. Almost two months later, I received an email stating the rest of my order would be delivered today between 12:30pm - 3:30pm. I had a friend stay at my house waiting on the delivery. At 3pm I receive a call that the delivery people were behind and it would be delivered by 5pm. At 5:43pm I call to inquire about my delivery, only to be told they tried to deliver but no one was home. Well that was a lie! I was then told OH, they tried to deliver to the wrong house. They were sorry and would waive the rescheduling fee like they were doing me a favor. SMH. I was transferred to another department and was told the delivery people were no longer in my area and I would have to call back tomorrow to reschedule. Excuse me!! I told them, I not calling back, the onus is on them. Their mistakes and delays. Ridiculous! I will not me patronizing this company any more in the future. read more

I would like to let anyone know that may be considering purchasing furniture from Ashley Furniture to think again. My experience with them has been horrible. I purchased a living room set the end of 2015 and it took them about 5 different deliveries to get it right. I am not sure what I was thinking in July 2017, three months ago, when I chose Ashley Furniture to purchase a dresser and nightstand. When it was delivered, there were areas that looked like the polish or sealer ran. The inside door latches are broken so I cannot use that area of the furniture. The repair man they sent out to fix the lathed did not know what he was doing. The left our residence without calling them to let them know it was not resolved. Then they offered to send me another dresser because they DO NOT take furniture back, and that dresser had defects. We refused to accept it. I was told the new dresser would be inspected before leaving the warehouse. When I called customer service, they told me it was not inspected, they can get another dresser sent out and would make sure it is inspected. I am not sure what the resolution will be. Please think long and hard before purchasing any furniture from Ashley Furniture. read more

The morning of the scheduled delivery I received a call advising that the merchandise is damaged and can't be assembled. They can't / won't give a date for when replacements will be available. We have had two dealings with the Raleigh store and in both cases felt we were treated well. Delivery was on time and guys handled furniture well. We have bought a sofa, a recliner sofa and a bedding set. Had one issue with first sofa where an arm support cracked. Sofa was replaced quickly. Having made wooden framed furniture before commercially, I understand sometimes it just happens, no problem. read more

Take it from a former dealer of Ashley Outdoor Furniture, stay far away. Nearly half the furniture we received was damaged or "touched up" prior to us receiving. At the very least, pay with a credit card so you can dispute the charges and thoroughly inspect your furniture on delivery and refuse to accept any damage. If the delivery driver is able to leave before you find the damage...good luck is all I can say! read more

This customer service experience is one of the worst I have ever had. We purchased a recliner chair about 15 months ago. We purchased the extended warranty for the chair. One week after the one-year store warranty expired, the mechanism for reclining broke. Since we were now covered under the extended warranty, we had to contact a third-party contractor to have the damage repaired. They said they would send a technician out within 2 weeks. About 2 1/2 weeks later, the technician (from yet another contractor) came out AND TOOK PICTURES of the mechanism that was broken. He said he would have to send the pictures to the extended warranty company and they would send the parts to us. We would then call them and they would send him back out to make the repairs. Two weeks later, I called the warranty company and one of their reps confirmed this information, but said the parts had not been ordered yet, but would be. Two and a half weeks later, I called again and spoke to another rep who said the claim had been denied. She said the damage was not specifically mentioned in the warranty, so it was not covered. Even though there were MANY exclusions in the warranty, our issue was not specifically excluded. However, it was also not speifically covered, so the claim was denied. We then contacted Ashley again and they said they had no say in what the warranty company covered, but they would send us the parts that were broken (since it was only a week out of store warranty), but we would need to pay a technician to make the repairs. Six weeks later, after a "lost" delivery of the parts, we finally got a package from Ashley - with the wrong part. We needed the metal recliner mechanism under the chair. They sent us the plastic handle, which was perfectly fine. We took the chair to the local dump and threw it away!! We will not be shopping at Ashley again and would not recommend them to anyone. Even though their prices are low, so is their quality. If you do choose to shop there, don't waste your money on the extended warranty. It basically covers only the fabric on the furniture. read more

Great service! I was having trouble with some of the furniture I purchased a little while ago because I couldn't fit it in my third floor room. I couldn't get it up the stairs. The manager Kevin and his sales manager were awesome and helped me swap out the furniture I bought with one that would fit. I ordered my child's bedroom set over the phone - sales person was very professional and responded quickly to questions. Delivery team (Alfredo torches and Maycol Perez) was on time, professional, neat and courteous. I had initially ordered a set online through Ashley and that was a nightmare. The furniture came all splintered in a box that was half destroyed. Even the UPS man that delivered the over weight and over sized box said he had never seen furniture delivered in such a way. Then it was a huge hassle to return, stating i needed to place a claim. UPS handled the return so that I could purchase through the store and have it set up for me. Never using the online store again but will use the Raleigh store! read more

My wife and I purchased over $5000 worth of furniture from this store. When it was delivered, I found that one of chairs had broken springs. When I called customer service they told me that it would take a month to get it fixed. First of all, I just got a brand new piece of furniture and don't want to get it fixed. Second, why do I need to wait an entire month before I can use something that I have already purchased. On top of that when I asked to return the chair because it was broken, they wanted to charge me a 10% restocking fee and $49 to pick it up. When I wanted to cancel my additional order that isn't suppose to get here for another week, I was told that I would also be charged a 10% restocking fee (two of the pieces weren't even in stock yet). All I asked them to do was to bringing me a new chair with my next order that was being delivered a week later. No one was interested in helping me so they just lost a customer for life. read more

If I could give this store negative 100 stars I would. I have never been treated so poorly by a customer service team in my life. After previously having a very negative shipping/delivery experience with this Ashley location, I made the (now horrible) decision to give them another chance. I ordered a sectional from the Glenwood location in May 2020 set for a September delivery date, paid in full as I was told that I would not have a delivery date until total payment had been received. I heard absolutely nothing from the store all summer so I called them on 8/20 to confirm delivery on 9/5, I was then told that 3/4 of my pieces MIGHT arrive to me on the 5th and that the 4th would most likely arrive sometime in late October. Had I been notified at all of this change? Nope. Was told that it was MY JOB after paying thousands for furniture to keep myself up to date on the delivery because they don't do that. I call again a week later on 8/28 to confirm the partial delivery of my sectional and was told that the delivery had been pushed back to DECEMBER. Again, not notified and told that it was my job as the customer to check in on my status because they "didn't do that". I called today 8/31 to finalize the cancelation of the sectional and was called back by my original sales associate that sold me the sectional and was HUNG UP ON mid conversation because I wanted to cancel. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone in sales. I move in less than a week and have thankfully been able to find another piece through another company. I am not the kind of person to write reviews or not give the benefit of the doubt to those in the sales industry especially during this pandemic BUT the treatment I have been given is absolutely absurd and I truly hope no one else has to go through this, especially during the stress of a move. Ashley Furniture finally scheduled a partial delivery of our big order yesterday between 4.30 and 7.30pm. Nobody showed up, no call, no rescheduling, no apologies, no anything, they just didn't show up. We waiting until 9pm for them but nobody and we went to sleep. Next morning we called and we were told that our account is "locked" because they delivered but we "were not there". After inquiry about the time, they said that the delivery was attempted at 10.12 pm. Let that speak for itself! Also, interestingly enough we have outside security cameras and we looked. Guess what, nobody came ever, not at 10, not at 11, not at midnight. No truck, no delivery people. Nobody. Their delivery didn't show up and decided to lie about it and it locked our account. That is after a long wait for a partial delivery (nothing else was delivered yet and it previously scheduled deliveries were cancelled by Ashley without any reason, so, while we paid a lot of money, we have nothing at all that we bought from them a long time ago.
