Initially my experience with Ashley HomeStore, Cary was great, I picked the items which I wanted and eventually a price was determined, which I thought was very good. The problem is that you cannot make plans around or even trust what they tell about when your furniture will be delivered.
My sales rep first told me that my furniture would be delivered on Thursday, September 24th, and then on the very same day, before I left out of the store, he told me that the date was changed without any logical reason to Monday, September 28th. I should have known something then because at that time he told me that a lady (another customer) yelled at him over the phone because of her delivery.
I went back into the store on Friday, September 25th to pay an agreed upon addition money prior to delivery and more importantly for me, to confirm that my delivery was still on schedule the coming Monday; I was told by everyone (at least three people) that my furniture was still scheduled to be delivered and prior to the delivery I would receive a phone call to establish a three hour delivery window.
Needless to say, I didn't get a call that weekend from the delivery crew, nor did I get my delivery. I waited at my home almost all day. As I live less than one mile from the store, I got into my car, drove to the store to try and find out what happened. I talked to both my sales rep and the store manager. They informed me that my delivery date had been changed to Thursday, October 8th and they didn't have an explanation why.
They were both very apologetic, the manager promised me that she would try to work something out, find out what happened, try to get me a sooner delivery and also make me some type of compensation. She said that she would get back with me and let me what she found out, and what she would do in the way of compensation. Before I left the store She even looked me straight in my face and said to me "I'M GONNA TAKE CARE OF YOU, YOU KNOW THAT I'M GONNA TAKE CARE OF YOU".... I never heard a word from her again.
On Tuesday, October 6th, a store rep called me and told me that the delivery was now scheduled for October 29th. At which time I asked to cancel the order and refund my money. Needless to say the sales rep did not have the same initial niceness and what was more shocking to me is today she told me it would twelve days to refund my money back to my debit card.
What's makes Ashley such a poor furniture store is that there was nothing special about the furniture which I ordered. It was a coffee table (which I took home in my car), a night stand and a king size bed, which these items have been carried in the store for years, this I know because I almost brought the very same items three years ago as I still have the pictures of those very items in my phone.
Furniture delivery is probably the most important thing to a furniture store. Ashley bills themselves as the best name in furniture, but when you can't rely on them to "half way" do what they tell you that they're going to do, how can you trust them for anything else. These people know me, if I walked back into that store right now, they would immediately recognize me, because I was very nice and pleasant person. I'm also senior citizen and a retired military member living on a fixed income. I don't have much to be excited about in life, but for whatever reason I was excited about having a few nice pieces of furniture in my home.
Ashley HomeStore did not treat me right or as any customer should be treated....IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN NAME ASHLEY...I EXPECTED MORE FROM THEM!!!!!!
Has anyone ever heard of it taking 12 days to refund your money back on your card? This is not how a reputable company that cares about their customers should conduct themselves! read more
