I bought a living room set and the sofa broke in half on the sixth day, a week and a half later they sent an engineer to look at the sofa and they wanted to fix it with a new piece of wood. Also within those two weeks the cushions lost their shape. So far it's been a month with a broken couch and we are waiting for a second visit from an engineer to ANALYZE the cushions. Their solution is to replace it with the same model....so I'll have to deal with the HORRIBLE costumer, very condescending After this horrible experience we don't want this furniture anymore BUT THEY REFUSE TO GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK or Get a DIFFERENT MODEL ( manufactured better) read more

Wouldn't recommend, staff was arguing with one another on furniture we had chosen. On delivery day they did not call prior to arrival which they said they would, original furniture was damaged took them two weeks to replace and when they replaced it they put a large nick in the wall and didn't say anything. We had been to the other nearing furniture/mattress stores in the area but we couldn't settle on a bed and/or sale associates were knowledgeable about the products they were selling. We really fell in love with the Tempur-pedic at Ashley's but it was too expensive so we left, and actually ended up buying a bed from Mattress Firm across the street. The biggest plus to Ashley HomeStore was our sales associate, Ryan. He was so knowledgeable about sleeping positions, the beds in store, and gave our knowledge about what we should stay away from for our own safety. Even though, we didn't buy a mattress that day. My daughter purchased a couch from the Poughkeepsie, NY store. It was delivered Thursday. The delivery men unwrapped the couch and placed it in position against the wall. As my daughter is nine months pregnant so she could not move the couch herself. On Saturday her boyfriend moved the couch and they discovered a rip in the back and the arm was damaged. On Sunday my daughter called Ashley customer service and was told that because the truck left her house they will not replace the couch. My daughter is stuck with a damaged couch. read more

Found the same chair on Ashley web site for $598, so I typed in the chat box and asked why is the price so different? They said all the stores are independently owned so they can set any price they want. We had a great experience with Monica. We have a toddler and made the mistake of not bringing the stroller the first visit. She was patient with our indecision (due to distraction) and made sure we were happy with our purchase in the end. Financing was streamlined, the price was right and they have a great warranty. The only reason for 4 stars is because we are still waiting on our furniture. Our delivery date was set for nearly 3 weeks after purchase. First let me start by saying that I purchased a sofa just a mere year ago. Last night, Saturday, May 25th, 2019 I stopped into the Poughkeepsie NY store to purchase a mattress located at 1895 South Road, Poughkeepsie NY 12601 wherein not only did I pay for full for my mattress but while on the showroom floor not one time did a sales representative come over and ask if I needed any help. Upon walking around the store for almost an hour, I decided to go find a sales person at a nearby table where three different employees where seated, to where I asked "can someone help me?". A women named Ayda Arguetta reluctantly got up and proceeded to ask "what can I help you with?" I showed her which mattress I was interested in and she proceeded to go get her tablet to make that sale. That's all it was, in fact, I had a few questions that she seemed so not interested in helping answer at all, as if she could not be bothered, she just wanted to make the sale and continue back to the table of employees sitting around talking. Nevertheless, the sale was closed on and I paid that night in FULL on my credit card. I explained to Ayda that I would the next day with a truck to pick up the mattress and box spring. She said ok, and that she would have everything ready for me to pick up and that she would be in the store from 10 am to 10pm. After her pressing and persistent badgering of the fact that in order for Ashleys to honor the warranty of the mattress that I would need to purchase a mattress protector. I declined to purchase it from Ashleys at $75.00 and said I would purchase it elsewhere that same night, which I did. The following day, on May 26, 2019 I called to obtain a uhaul truck to pickup the mattress to which was not available until after 2pm. In the meantime, I received two telephone calls from the store saying that the mattress was ready for pickup. I explained that I would pick up the mattress around 3 pm. When I arrived at the store around 3:10pm I waited for almost 30mins at the counter while the front desk lady called repeatedly on her head set asking someone to bring the mattress and box spring to the front to be loaded onto my uhual truck. After going back n forth with whoever was on the headset, another 15 minutes had passed and still no sign of the mattress or box spring. I decided to walk around the store to kill some time and began looking at bedroom sets. A man named Adam, a sales rep came over to me and asked me if I wanted the 5" or 9" inch box spring. I told him that I wanted the 9" inch. Ten minutes later he came over and found me and said that "there's actually no 9" inch box springs here at the moment". I was shocked because this was discussed with Ayda the night before who gave me her word that the order would be all set and ready for me to pick up and that someone would be available to help load it on the truck. Now not only was I still waiting for a mattress and annoyed that the box spring I was promised was not even in store/stock, I was running out of time for a uhaul that I rented for a hour n half assuming it wouldn't take that long to pick up two items. After being in the store for almost a hour now I had just 30 mins left to return my uhual and out came my mattress on a hand cart UNCNOVERED not wrapped in plastic or any sort of mattress bag. I asked the woman at the front desk, how can you sell a mattress uncovered but require me to buy a cover to get the warranty. As soon as the mattress is put on the back of the dirty uhaul UNCOVERED the warranty would then be no good, seeing as though the rental was filthy! I was beyond furious and impatient at this point. I asked if someone could get me a cover, some plastic or a mattress packing cover that comes with all mattress so that I can just get my product and leave. No one would answer the woman on her headset and she kept calling and asking for help. So after exchanging words and asking for a store manager, explaining how upset and unhappy I was about the whole ordeal I was still put off and jerked around.. being told that no manager was on site and that they were waiting for the operations manager to get the plastic. Finally a woman came to the front and asked me where I was parked and proceeded to help one African American man load the mattress on the dolly and load it onto my truck,then making a second trip into the store for the box spring. At this point I was super furious very upset and unsatisfied with the customer service at this location that I had removed myself from the store and continued to wait in the vehicle while leaving my fiancé to finish and oversee the transaction. When he came out to the truck and began to tie the mattress and box spring down, he told me that the store gave him $60 off the box spring for the inconvenience. A VERY small to price to pay considering the fact that they lost a customer and im going to share this experience with all family and friend and on every social media platform! read more

I had a great experience buying my bedroom set and cabinet a Ashley. They have many well made affordable pieces of furniture. Very good value. The salespeople were all very nice, patient (not pushy) competent and helpful. I received the bedroom set within the week. Arrived at 8 am. Delivery people brought up to room and added legs. Pieces are all in good condition. A minor dent but not noticeable Looks great In my bedroom. I bought the white chest with door, dresser, nightstands with silver handles. The drawers are cedar or felt lined in the dresser. A nice touch. I did have to wipe inside of drawers down as they had dust on them. Probably from manufacturing plant. read more

I went in being extremely specific, I wanted my couch as soon as possible. After framing my search around the date of arrival, I ordered the perfect set to be delivered within the week. After waiting for 3 days, my furniture had arrived and was missing a piece of the sectional, The delivery company was separate to the furniture company so they could not give me proper assistance in this. So, I called the store only to he told that the part of the couch I ordered was set for a delivery date of December 22, 2025! This is an absurd date and i have now ended up with an incomplete couch, despite a timely order being my only requirement. In the end, I was forced to settle for getting my couch in 5 YEARS. DO NOT ORDER FOR ASHLEYS FURNITURE IF YOU WANT YOUR FURNITURE ANYTIME SOON. This has been a very aggravating experience I bought a master bedroom set believing it to be of good quality and when I received this furniture it had many dings, scratches and the fabric was marred. I advised the store to be led in a goose chase for a replacement Then they scheduled a repair tech who wouldn't fix anything he saw Again another goose chase they rescheduled another delivery and every piece was in worse shape than I had. Been looking at a piece of furniture online and now that the store is open after the pause I wanted to see the piece in person. They used to let you walk around uninterrupted with maybe a few checking up on you here and there. I was followed and asked so many chatty questions. I could not even concentrate on what I wanted to do. After I expressed I wanted to just look on my own all was OK until I stepped into the Outlet part of the store. The salesperson came in and tried to get me out of that section as fast as they could. That's not where the money is. They were sure what I wanted was not in there. I ended up giving up and left the store. Also I wanted to note many pieces of furniture are not put together well and some items were broken. The excuse was put on the person who put them together but that does not look good if you want to order their furniture. Completely disgusted with this place. Purchased a living room set on 7/12/20, that was to be delivered 8/8/20. Unfortunately, we measured the set to see if it would fit in the room and it did not. We kept going back and forth to the store to find something that would fit. We were coming down close to the delivery date of the original furniture ordered and still had no decision on furniture that would fit so I called the store to cancel my order on 7/30/20. I spoke to 4 different people that told me the order was cancelled. I asked for an email confirmation of that. They promised it to me by the end of the day 7/30/20. On 7/31/20 I still hadn't received the email. I called corporate (Adam) got no where. I called Sean, store manager, who I spoke to yesterday, and still not cancelled. Finally, they cancelled the order and sent me the email. Upon receipt of the refund email they charged my credit card on 7/24/20 for $129.75. So I ask for what and who authorized this charge? We went to Ashley to buy furniture for our whole house, we started looking around and got caught up in their sweet talk, they promised me they will give me so much money off but I didn't know that all that money being taken off would come with a hefty price. I ordered a whole king size bedroom set and first, they promised delivery within one week so I bought it and waited a week but nothing came, I called Ashey and after being left on hold for 2 hours, they told me my furniture will come after two days, the two days go by and nothing came up, so I called again and they said after three days and still nothing came up so I went down to their store in Poughkeepsie and they weren't helpful at all, after a couple of days of waiting I had finally got an email saying my furniture was going to come but when it did come, HALF THE THINGS WERE MISSING!!! so I went and talked to their associates and they couldn't even find my receipt or account. After a very long 40 minutes of waiting, they came to me and rudely told me that none of that stuff was ordered and that I would have to pay for it again. Please reconsider if your going to buy from Ashley furniture. On the day of delivery everything seemed fine when they brought it in my apartment, both couches looked great no scratches or anything. The first time I sat on the couch, THE FIRST TIME! The couch broke!! I called them right away and they said "oh we're sorry about that, we will send a technician to come and fix it". I argued with them on the phone to replace my couch and they wouldn't replace the couch even though I just got it 15 minutes before I called. I had to take off from work and wait for a guy to come. We purchased an electric recliner loveseat 2/16/13 in anticipation of my husband's total knee replacement surgery which occurred on 3/22/13. It was delivered 3/19/13 so my husband could recuperate comfortably. On 3/19/13 they brought the non-electric chair which we refused to accept. We went to the store and after a very long conversation, being lied to and them trying to make us pay more money, they agreed to send the appropriate chair that we had been promised. Unfortunately the chair could not be delivered until 4/2. On 3/29 we received a call that the chair would now not be delivered until 4/4. The unbelievably rude woman who called could not care less about the problems your store was creating. When I stated we will likely have to cancel and search elsewhere she said just said "fine" and hung up. On 4/1 the store called to confirm the delivery on 4/4. My husband asked if it was the electric chair, and "shocker" it was not. This has created a major problem for my DISABLED husband. We made this purchase well in advance of his major surgery to avoid such problems. Now he has been home and cannot get up off our current furniture without assistance. It causes a great deal of pain, prohibits his proper healing and has caused him severe emotional distress. I have had to take almost two weeks off from my own job. This in itself cost me time I did not really have to spare, thousands in overtime pay and a warning from my employer. Is your company in the habit of lying to all customers or just the disabled ones? Are you prepared to lose business from us and everyone we know? Creating hardship for an already disabled man and being lied to repeatedly is not in your best interest. Lenny at the Poughkeepsie store was the first liar, who first tried to make it right at least to our face, Mike, his boss, was the second who blamed Lenny saying he had no right to help us the way he did. Mike also rudely insulted my husband and his disability. This is unacceptable. We tried to be VERY accommodating and forgiving but were treated horribly. Either that or the incompetence is beyond comprehension and the fact you still have a business is astonishing. we cancelled the original order. We went to Raymore and Flannigan the evening of 4/1, found a beautiful piece of furniture that was delivered 4/4.. When we told them of our problems dealing with Ashley Furniture, not only were they NOT surprised, they gave us a fabulous deal on higher quality furniture. read more

Ashley also has a large display screen to show options that are not in the store. We shopped around but the customer service that we were provided made for an easy decision to choose Ashley. not a bad experience in the store.. bought about $2000 in furniture.. sales guy was nice... a day later, i wanted to check the dimensions prior to delivery so i went onto the website and saw that the online prices were significantly lower than the store prices... i spent the next week going back and forth trying to get them to credit me for the difference.. after a lot of calls (because nobody at the store EVER answers the phone) back and forth and a lot of time waiting on hold.. they finally gave me the credits... they weren't nasty or anything .. but i see that part of their business model is hoping you don't check online prices... We purchased a sofa and loveseat with a 5-year protection plan one year ago. We called for service and our claim was denied. We were advised that future claims would also be denied. Basically, they sell a protection plan with no intention of ever providing service. I called today to speak to a manager and I was told that there was a 48-hour call-back. I said OK, and the rep refused to take my callback information. She stated that"the manager would only tell you the same thing that I am telling you". The store reps were great in following up to ensure the sale went through, however since the delivery, there has been no consideration, or efforts to follow up to correct the situation. I have called 2-3 times a week to follow up, and every time I get an apology with reassurance that I will hear from customer service, regional manager, or someone by the next day, and the issue would be rectified. I have now heard this week after week, and still have not heard from anyone. I continue to follow up every few days with broken promises, and still zero resolution. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this store, especially the Poughkeepsie office. I am a loyal customer, and this is my first time ever writing a bad review for any store. The mattress I ordered was 12 inches thick and was a pillow top the one delivered is only 5 inches thick. It is like an army cot at best. I am not even sure it is truly a Sealy so I will be contacting them next. We stopped at several other furniture stores in the area looking for a sectional and a wall unit entertainment center. When we arrived here we were shown a couple of things and we really liked one sectional. Then we looked at the wall units and we really liked one of them as well. It had a built in fireplace which we weren't looking for, but we really liked the ambiance and the price was right with it included so we decided to go for it. In the meantime we also found a bedroom set that we really liked and decided to get that as well. We opted for the 6 months interest free option to save some money which is a great option and we are very thankful for it! We also opted for delivery and set up. That was a great move as we were able to get it delivered in a timely fashion (they worked with us since we have very strict rules about when furniture can be delivered). The delivery team was great and had us all set up very quickly. Overall this was a great experience. We are very happy with the furniture after about 3 weeks and we were very happy with the customer service we experienced. This would not let me give it no stars, or I would have. I bought a couch with a sofa bed 2 months ago from the Poughkeepsie, NY store. This is the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I've ever sat on. When I called and told them, they said they NEVER give exchanges or refunds. A repairman said the bed mechanism was sitting too low, causing the cushions to sink into the middle. He ordered the mech lifter that was needed and 2 new couch cushions. I got the cushions but not the essential part needed before I put the new cushions on. That was 1 month ago. I spoke with a very nice woman at the home store who has been trying to help who said she found the only part in the warehouse. It came with another couch that had not been sold yet. She couldn't get it, but she said the repair guy could probably fix it without the mech lifter. I told her I wanted a new couch, but she said they had to try to fix it first. Zero stars!!!! DO NOT SHOP ASHLEY THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS!!!!!!! Not only are they over priced (for lousy product) but lying sales people to boot. No one ever said all sales final. According to these liars, in order for me to get the most out of my new Tempurpedic bed I had to have the cooling mattress pad for $300 and a $250 pillow. Both of which don't work the way they are supposed to and are lousy and not worth the money! When I tried to return the pillow (bc it gave me a stiffer neck and back than I already have). They said "you can't return after it's been delivered". Then when I said they didn't deliver it. Well then "you can't return items once it's left the store" (in fine print on back of the receipt which the customer is supposed to know and read before leaving the store). So I called corporate which was no help either!!!!! I spent almost $7000 (like an idiot and will never do again) and they couldn't refund or exchange the heavy, uncomfortable, piece of crap pillow for $250?!?!? I wouldn't even give it to a homeless person!!!!!! They don't care about customer service, they lie, and they definitely don't remind customers that they can't return items once they walk out the store! So do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else and continue to buy your pillows at Target or Walmart bc they are more comfortable and will take back your $10 items with no questions asked. They don't have to hide behind lousy merchandise to make sales final and lose customers in the process. My only goal now is to see Ashley Furniture go out of business!!!!! This is the worst place to deal with. They were all too happy to accept our money when we purchased a bedroom set for our grandson. The furniture was delivered without the slats for the bed. They are telling us we have to wait a week before the slats will be delivered. Customer Care will not overnight the slats and the store itself is of no help. We have the furniture that can't be used, they have our money and a six year old has no bed to sleep on. Go to Davis or Cohen. Avoid Ashley at all costs. read more
