Why do I not feel like a valued customer?? What do you mean, that this is customer misuse?? We are in our mid 70's, live alone, and we are smallish in stature. We simply SIT on the couch and raise the footrest once in the evening. There is no jumping or sitting down hard or rocking or anything else that could damage this footrest from anything we do. We don't even sit with the footrest up much. So I would like to know exactly what might be customer misuse here. We have no small children here, or parties, or are even big enough people to hurt any part of this couch. So I would like a further explanation of what the heck you are talking about.
The customer service has been ATROCIOUS from you people. There is not a good number to reach anyone. The customer service numbers only options are to ask about a new purchase or to talk to a sales representative in a store. If you opt for a representative, the number usually just rings on and on and no one answers it at all. I did get a real person once, but he didn't know anything except to give me the same number I got to talk to him.
I FINALLY, after trying every number I could find, talked to a real service person who asked me to send a picture. This entailed turning the couch upside down, which took every bit of effort we had. Then the woman said we had the coverage to fix it, and scheduled an appointment on the 17th of Nov. No one ever came or called. I called back, and they said, sorry, and rescheduled for the 21st of Nov. They said I was covered, and there would be no charge. The repairman came and didn't even look at the underside where the damage was, but just tried it a few times while looking under the footrest. He said we needed 2 new motors, and refused to look at one side of the love seat, because it had started doing the same thing. He refused and said it wasn't on the order, so he wouldn't look at it. Then he said he would order the 2 parts and they would come back once the parts were here to install them. That was the last we heard from anyone. No communication at all. When I tried calling, no one answered, and when I did get someone on the phone they said I was not covered and they would not pay for it. I mean, does no one know what the heck is going on there?? Either no place to turn if there is a problem, or to talk to anyone who should know if we are covered or if we aren't. If not, we should have been told immediately - after all the numerous phone calls to even get to someone. A repairman should not have been sent if we are not covered. I have been told we are covered, but one other person, including you in this email says that we aren't. So are we or aren't we?? And if not, why were we told right away?? This is so totally wrong on every level that I can hardly fathom a company so inept.
I would really like to know what the problem is and why in the world you would think that this is our fault, and why I have been told it would be covered, and then told we don't have insurance. This is really bad, and I will be happy to find someone at corporate to send this email to. Your customer service is awful, and there needs to be an effort on your part to have actual customer service. I will see what you might suggest at this point, but will certainly give reviews at the end of this drama. I have spent literally hours trying to get help, but there is none to be had. I suggest you forward this to a supervisor, or someone in charge who can help me, or I will find lots of people who would be interested in what has happened here.
Sincerely,
Kathy Grey
