Walked in 5/24/2020 and spent close to 5k on a bed set with matress. Bed set arrived in mid june with no issue. Matress arrived a month later on 7/1. Matress as you can see in the pictures is defective. I went in 7/12 on my day off and complained. Geri Heath Sales manager took my complaint and she said someone would call me to schedule. 7/16 I get a phone call and got scheduled for 7/18. The day of (TODAY), no one showed i emailed Geri and called the store I was unable to get ahold of anyone. It seems as if once my 5k were taken all customer aknowledgement was out the window. I walked in to the store about 5 hours later after I emailed Geri about the no show and simply said I would like a refund on the matress but I would be keeping the set. I asked what the store policy was and at first she said a tech would have to come out and make sure it was bad and i agreed, then that's when things went left I told her getting ahold of someone was near impossible the phone number she gave me leads to no where and no one ever answers she didn't respond to my emails and she is at work bullshitting (she was standing at her desk hanging out with a coworker) mean while she can't return my emails????Oohhh BOOOiiii she was pissedddd. She took her mask off and began going off on how she's not bullshitting all her employees and customer are just staring at us because I told her yea you are bullshitting you can't email me back but I walk in and find you hanging out on the Salesfloor on a slow Saturday afternoon no customers in sight. Things got heated and we went back and forth for a minute (pretty shitty for a manager to do). Now I'm scheduled for Tuesday but at this pont I just want to do a charge back with my credit card company. If they had just admitted there fuck up and taken care of me with urgency but its been close to 2 months with a shitty mattress I cant sleep on. If they didn't have the color we wanted in store she showed us a variety of couches with the colors we were in search of. She was very helpful and honest. She wasn't pushy at all to make a sale and she didn't hover at all like I have seen in different furniture places. She was there when we had any time of questions. Her customer service was amazing. Still staying at the one star. Second time for delivery of the dresser and the drivers took it off the truck in a box and the dresser looks to have been completely dropped at the warehouse. It was split on the top of the dresser and in the middle. Again looks like I will have to set up a delivery for ANOTHER dresser that replaces the two damaged ones sent. Did not sign for them and told them to take them back. It might seem enticing to get furniture from this store at a discounted deal but from the customer service, from the store(now I have included them as well), to the warehouse, to their customer care it is pretty disappointing. I have had the absolute worse experience with Ashley's. I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. To start with the positive, the representative at the store was great. She was very helpful and professional. My delivery was scheduled for Oct. 21st. From there, it all went downhill. On the day of delivery, I never received a phone call or text confirmation which I found fishy so I called to see what happened because my furniture had not been delivered. They said that they rescheduled because I did not confirm my delivery..umm what?? I told them that I never received a phone call nor does there paperwork request a confirmation. The representative proceeded to tell me that they rescheduled delivery till 11/6 and all my items are on back order till 11/8. Tell me how that makes sense? I asked him how will my items be delivered on 11/6 if they are not available till the 8th. He proceeded to stumble and then rescheduled the delivery to the 8th. Fast forward to 11-4. A representative left a voicemail to tell me that 3 of my items are not available and that they are going to deliver those at a different time. I called later that evening and the representative told me 3 of the 4 items I ordered are available and they rescheduled the entire delivery till 11-18. First of all, they both had conflicting information. I asked the representative to please do a partial delivery and deliver the last item later because I am tired of being rescheduled. He said someone would call me in 24-48 hrs. Nobody called. I called multiple times, left multiple VMs and talked to multiple people on the chat option. Each time they said someone would call me in 24-48 hrs. Honestly, If you are looking for a furniture company with decent customer service. Do not come to Ashley's. Would give zero stars! Salespeople are vultures. Salesman lied about nearly everything. Recliner was NOT IN STOCK, I had to wait 2 weeks. Delivery is $180! Outrageous. Picked up chair Friday, Aug 13th. Major clue missed. I set up the new power Recliner, it was great, for about 70 hours. I was stuck in said chair for 2 hours. Now it's no longer a power chair. The store is going through a few growing pains being so new in town, and if they have one problem, it is the communication between the store and the warehouse. Anthony was our salesperson and was absolutely great! We did have some delivery issues and again I think the problem is the communications between the store and warehouse. Anthony and the floor Manager were both great and more than accommodating in helping us through the delivery trouble. Hello. I recently purchased $7000 worth of furniture from Ashley furniture in Modesto Ca . Joe , was our sales rep. There was guarantees made by Joe, Guaranteed that I will love my mattress, also guaranteed that I can return anything if I did not like within 72 hrs. My furniture arrived. I laid on my bed for 1hr. Within that 1 hr, my back and body went into muscle spasms. I slept on my air mattress. I called Ashley the very next day. I spoke with a new sales manager, his name was also Jose. He had no clue or any direction on what to do. He concluded that I use the mattress for 30 days, and if I do not like it, then it can be swapped out. He then told me to file a claim with temper pedic. I called temper pedic. The lady at that department told me no.. she said I have to go trough Ashley , and that Ashley has a 72 hr return policy. So now I called customer service,I Explained everything. A claim was filed.So this rep says ok, we file the claim, and someone will reach out to you too schedule a pick up for your mattress. We hung up. I then looked at the brochure from Ashley furniture, And it said there is a 30 day return policy turn policy if you bought the pillow topper along with pillow. I called Ashley's furniture again on Friday, I was told that the file is still pending I would have to call on Monday. So today I call and I spoke with another gentleman. He then told me that everything that I was told has been wrong. He did tell me that there was not much that he can do. So from the beginning of my furniture buying experience, I have been wrongfully sold on furniture. There was no guarantees, there was just lies to make a quick buck on commissioned for the salesman. I am very disturbed, I am flabbergasted on how this corporation works and treats its customers. Especially when customers like myself spend $7000 in their stores. I called within 20 hours of the mattress getting to my home. I spoke with the manager I spoke with the sales reps I spoke with customer service. And everybody has just been giving me the run around. Today upon talking with another sales manager ,she is telling me that her sales man would never say anything like that.. . Sure. We all have experienced the shady sales people. It happens when your buying a car. They promise you the world, and you only get a grain of sand. But the sales people get to pocket all the commissions. WOW! Ashley Furniture has the worse customer service if there are any issues. I accidentally ordered a Cal King mattress for my bed. When they called me to confirm the delivery between 8-12 I asked if they could move the delivery to the afternoon. They said they couldn't change the delivery time but they could push off the delivery. I didn't want to wait any longer since we already waited a month. I took the day off from work so that I could be there since my wife was sleeping after being out all night at work. Since she was sleeping I asked that the delivery guy just leave the mattress on the top of the stairs and that I would change out the mattress later that day. When I finally changed out the mattress I realized I ordered the wrong size. I actually have an eastern king. I called the store immediately to let them know. All they said was, "Sorry we don't exchange mattresses." I then told them the mattress was still in the original plastic and never opened. They said, "Doesn't matter, you signed off on the mattress when it was delivered. You should have ordered the right size." I tried to explain the situation but the Sales Manager didn't seem to really care. After she was tired of listening to me explain that I am willing to pay any difference in price or second delivery charge she just repeated herself. I asked to speak to someone else and she took my name and number so she could call me back after speaking to the store manager. I never got a call! I then called Ashley's corporate customer service. They explained the "no return/exchange" policy again. I again asked to speak to a higher up and that person told me they would contact the store and have them call me. Again no one called. I called corporate again. This time I was told they would contact the regional manager and have them call me. Again no one called. I called corporate again and was told they understood how this happened but that the store would have to make the call on whether to exchange the mattress. I finally got a call back from the store from the sales manager who ran me through an explanation of how they were just following corporate policy. I told her corporate just told me it was up to the store and she said "We just follow policy." I asked to speak to the manager and was told "No" I asked about 4 more times to which she finally responded, "Fine, I'll get the manager." She put me on hold and instead of the store manager the same lady got back on the phone to explain to me their policy again. I explained that a general policy should not stop you from making things right with a customer that made a mistake. She offered to get the manager again. I stated that I doubted it would do any good since they didn't seem to care about helping a customer make things right. HORRIBLE! I will NEVER buy from Ashley Furniture again. read more

This is the worst service ever. I order 2 sets of matress, both queen.. 1 queen bed frame/head boars.. the bed frame came with wrong slats 1 order cal/king bed frame, it came with just regular king. I call and complain they said it take too days to get back to me since the truck is out delivery. Make matter worst they didn't take my old head board and bed frame as they promise. They said thats not what the company does, but at the sale they promise to take all bed frame and head board out.. After my first complain when i call back they didn't want to talk to me again they put me on 30 mins wait.. overall my experience with ashley is they just try to make you sale and when something go wrong they do not want to fix it or they honor the contract.. i would not recommend this place to anyone read more

So I went in to place and order we left to think about it they called us back after the store had closed the "sales manager" said he would give a big discount if we did 2 yr financing as opposed to the 5 yr promo they had at the time. He took $200 off and did not honor the half off price for again the sale they were having. We really wanted the furniture so we got it anyways. I called to change delivery date as we we're getting keys to our new home sooner. I spoke with a women on the phone she advised they can deliver Monday sep 1st (holiday). I did not get my furniture on the new delivery date. I spoke with a male he said there is no notes regarding my call. I said fine we will keep same delivery date. I called and spoke with "store manager" or whatever the highest lady there is and she was offered $100 off my almost $6,000 order for "inconvenience" because I called the "call center" not the store she did not know how to read the notes that were left. I mentioned the right thing to do was refund the delivery fee as I did not get the delivery on the date I was advised of. After discussing she offered my delivery fee in gift cards. Delivery day comes they provided a time frame from 2:30-6:30 we get a message at noon stating arrival time is in 10 min my husband rushes to new house and waits over 2 hrs as they did not show up in 10 min. Delivery time come they guys threw the furniture off the truck they came in to "assemble" but we're actually unable to assemble because on one end there were no brackets to connect the pieces together on the other side the brackets did not like up. We ordered a sectional and received a single chair. In the end they advised they could not give us the product we originally wanted and agreed on because the salesman did not know his products. We cancelled the order and offered to return gift cards as we did not want them any longer the sales manager advised we are welcomed to keep them. Later that week we went in to purchase a desk and the store manager refused to accept our gift cards it was the least they could do. This store is an absolute joke. I will never shop here, recommend this place and will always advise to shop literally any where else. Bait and Switch Pricing. I wanted to have a full bedroom set delivered to my fathers home outside of Redding Ca before he returned from my home. I tried to place the order on line. It was rejected due to his rural zip code. I called the Redding Store, I was instructed I would have to go into my local store to place the order because the delivery out of Redding is possible but, only once a month. No Problem, took my wheel chair bound father to Modesto store to see the set and place the order. Modesto Store is not accessible inside for a wheel chair, the bedroom set was not on display, he could not get to the mattresses. So, the sales person shows us the computer screen, we tell him exactly what we saw online, he brings it up, we say the prices were different on line, he says it will be adjusted. After he writes it all up, the manager has to approve every step of the process, they both tell us "its half off", good deals etc .., After two hours, we are finished, my father is exhausted, We go home. The next day we recap the receipt and note we were over charged 631.00!!! When I called to dispute this, I was told WEB pricing is different than IN STORE pricing. They will NOT honor web prices, they will not honor Price Match or Price Guarantee. It is up to the store manager discretion to modify pricing. Its a scam! read more

I ordered Ashley's Turbulence power recliner and sofa online. I received the couches today and one of the power adapters had a broken AC power outlet prong. I called Ashley customer service who directed me to go to my local store to show them the part that needed replacement. Once I arrived at the Modesto Ashley store I was told by the customer service representative that the local store was u able to help me because I purchased the couches online and they couldn't do anything to help. She said I should call the customer service number and see if they could do something. So basically my $1000 couch is useless because it has no power and no one can help. Ridiculous. read more

I have never been lied to as much ch as I've been at Ashley's. I was sold pretty much every thing for my dining room and living room, plus a queen bed with warranty. Nope their warranty is a joke. Nothing but a run around. First my sofa began breaking 2 months after purchasing it and with in a year completely broken. Call the warranty company the day it started to feel loose. They stated they were going to send someone and nothing 7 months later my sofa is done. Next, my kitchen table came with a bench and one of the legs was constantly loose. They were advised and again nothing.my husband had to make a new leg for it. Lastly my bed collapsed on one side and eventually the other. I was told it was solid wood but it's like compressed paper. The store was notified of every incident but all they said was call the warranty. Today the store manager finally told me that they are responsible for the first year. Really. But as usual it's too late now because one it's past the year; even though I called them every single time something broke. And I'm out of state now which voids for a service I was promised. Horrible horrible experience. Husband and I purchased a whole bedroom set and a mattress. We even purchased a love seat. That day the lights and electricity went out which was ok. Not their fault but omg it was been a nightmare ever since. We made our purchase on Black Friday and we were told we would be contacted with a delivery date but that it shouldn't take too long. The following day we got a phone call from Crystal saying that she was reviewing our order and unfortunately she put the the chair under the name and address of someone else. She said that we would get a $50 gift card for store credit for the inconvenience. We're all human, accidents happen so I wasn't mad about that. We ended up receiving our mattress and mirror with dresser and another big dresser. The delivery gentleman knocked down a frame as they took everything upstairs and bumped one of the dressers so it became damaged. Had to call to get that repaired. Then we were told that the nightstands were on back order but the the rest of bed was going to arrive in late January. The guys brought in one box took it upstairs and we heard a loud bang. Turns out when he opened the box, the wood was all cracked. Omg I was so mad! So they took everything back to the warehouse then we were told we would get a call back the next day to have an eta for the replacement. Never got a call back but instead we called the store and we're told to call the following day for an eta since they still didn't have information. Called back and we're told that now the nightstands would be delivered in July and the bed would be delivered in June WTF! Ugh I've never experienced anything like this at all. Don't understand why it has taken so long. Quality clearly must not be that good since their wood breaks and gets messed up easily. Deeply regret buying our bedroom set here. Manager offered us $100 gift card hubby said oh hell no. They gave us the option to rerun the undelivered furniture but we don't want to do that since we have the dressers and mirror that match the stupid bed. Purchased 4 chairs @ $100 a piece, that was with their 40% cash discount. Got home to get more reviews on the chairs to find out they were sold in pairs for $109. Over charged by $200+, promptly called and they priced matched it. Their kiosk even said they were $180 without discounts, so make sure to check online and DO NOT TRUST THEIR KIOSK for the proper pricing. Always check online and request those prices if you must come here. Use the store to find what you like and tell them sells people to back off before they cram numbers in your face which makes it appear they are getting you the actual price and not an inflated in store price. Plus they implied I couldn't get the in store discount if I didn't buy the protection plan. Wanted $100 to ship them aswell, when online shipping was free with a 10% discount. read more

Rented a truck get to Lathrop Modesto never made a date with the warehouse even though they scheduled me a date for pick up. Then they waved the delivery fee because of the money I spent for renting a truck. When the bed was delivered no mattress or box spring.instead said I own $75 for a finance change when I paid cash. Nobody you call can help you to deal with this company customer care is a joke won't talk about anything with you because they don't have recorded lines. Do NOT buy home accessories here. We have bought numerous large home items such as a dining set and most recently a bedroom set. We bought lamps to accompany it. When purchasing we were never told we couldn't exchange or return anything. When the lamps didn't look quite right I went to take them back a few days later and the lady I dealt with (after I stood in front of them for 10 min with no acknowledgement) was really rude. She made a point to say the receipt said I could not return which is fine but the problem is you don't get it until AFTER you purchase. So disappointed with the service. The Absolute WORST experience I've ever had!!!!!!!I ordered an expensive bedroom set from this pos Modesto store. When they first dropped it off, we noticed all these scuffs, and handle prep holes all over the drawers looked very tacky! It looked as if they were trying to hide the holes with just white fill in. One of the drawers was broken, and the other drawer wouldn't open properly. Low and behold we called to get assistance from the Modesto store where we spoke to this woman who treated us horrible on the phone, absolutely rude, and unprofessional! She tried to tell us we had no warranty on our account, I explained to her that there's a year warranty and she finally figured it out, she rudely kept insisting that we had no warranty. so they sent us a drawer and told us to install it?!?! I called them and told them it was the wrong drawer, so they sent another one , guess what wrong drawer again, finally on the 3rd drawer they sent we left it in the box for the technician to install, we let him do his work with the hope, we would finally get to use our expensive bedroom set after 8 months of problems from Ashley.... he comes out and tells us to take a look at the drawer he installed...!!!! I said for starters it's the wrong color drawer again!!!! Wrong size , handle completely unleveled, how does this guy not know what he's installing he's a technician!! Now he tells us he didn't notice all that, so he will order another drawer for another technician!!!! 10 months in now, and still no resolution, I call corporate after hearing nothing from Ashley, they tell me an exchange will be reviewed and they will contact me. 13 days go by no word from corporate, so I call them again and stay on the phone for 55 minutes, I get a lady who treats me as if I'm an idiot, says they have no record in their systems of me or my wife?!?!? She then hangs up on me!!! I get back on the phone again for an hour in 5 minutes of waiting again!!! Pissed at this point beyond annoyed with this company, I get through they tell me to send pictures so I do, 4 hours later a manger named stacy calls me and tells me they will do the exchange, and that they're sorry about the lady hanging up on me they schedule me for Jan23rd(today) GUESS WHAT THEY MESSED UP AGAIN!!!!! I took the day off from work and they flaked on the delivery, Modesto Ashley Home center is the absolute worst I spent a lot of money in the store, I recommended my family to the store and they had the same issues and they ordered 7,000 dollars plus at Ashley, delivery problems, rude customer service, unprofessional attitudes, they're nice to you when you're in the store and they want you to buy!! Horrible experience! Bought a sofa online on Black Friday. E-mail confirmation said delivery was 12/19/19. Called to confirm. Told delivery was scheduled instead for Wednesday 12/18. Received a phone message on Tues 12/17 saying the delivery was scheduled for Thursday 12/19. Was told to call a number to indicate I had received the message--did that. When called next day to confirm said delivery was now Jan, 2. I called the morning of the 18th asking about all of the confusion. Was told that I would receive a call back after delivery department had been reached. Didn't hear back so I called at 4:45 same day. Was told that I would receive a call first thing Thursday (19th) to confirm delivery. Not knowing the actual delivery date I left work early to be here for the sofa. Never received a call back and there is no sofa. I will NEVER do business with this place--ever!!! read more

DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR ORDER IF INCOMPLETE Had some furniture delivered on Aug 28. They forgot the shelves and door knobs on a TV stand. The delivery guy said he would have it shipped, so a month goes by and nothing. Then I call their shipping department in Lathrop and the phone operator says "we have nothing for you." So I place a parts order and that shows up about a month later and it's the hardware to assemble fore-mentioned TV stand. Not the shelves and door knobs. I call the shipping department in Lathrop again and finally get someone who is competent, she has the correct order shipped. It finally arrived today Dec 2. And of course after all that one screw for a door knob is missing. They'll probably have a replacement at a hardware store. SMH read more

Zero stars. Wouldn't even give this place 1 star. From when I first purchased my couches almost a year ago , I have had nothing but problems dealing with these people. They must have the WORST customer service I have ever seen. If there is something wrong with your couch .. don't even bother calling them because it's always gonna be your fault . Whatever is wrong with the couch... it's your fault. They don't even care to help out the customers . I have had a squeaky noise in my couch since I purchased it and it just got worse over time . I called over a month ago and had someone come out . The guy put some brackets in and said that it was fixed and then a few days later the squeaky noise was worse. I called them again , they had someone else come out , and the guy didn't even put a finger on the couch and said it was the cushions lol has nothing to do with the cushions . The couch was not built properly and the frame on it is bent. I called and spoke to a girl named Jessica and she was horrible. Wouldn't even say we will see what we can do , straight to unfortunately there is nothing we can do. DO NOT spend your money buying anything from this place. Read all the reviews , there is nothing nice that is being said about this place. Worst furniture store out there! No class. Hire some people that know what they're doing read more

will never buy anything again from the company. we ordered our bed back in Oct 2020 with the knowledge it would not be delivered until the begining of Dec. it is now the end of Jan 2021 and still have not received our bed. they schedule the delivery time we take time off of work to get an call day of delivery that it is delay due to something not being in the order. this has happened now 4 times. with all the time missed from work and the poor customer service I will definitely go elsewhere. and WILL be cancelling this order and demanding a refund... if I could give less the one star I would read more

Well crap. It is the guy in the wheelchair again . I do not know if it's the holiday or shat, but no wheelchair space. In the store for 20 in minutes and not a salesperson..taking my need for two complete bedroom set to another store. read more

Terrible Store manager as well as Sells manager will never be coming back to this store again spent over 9k in this store and while I wanted to return 1 item the manager said you can't return anything. I called corporate and they stated that within 72hrs I could return my entire order if I wanted to corpo processed my return just so I could receive several calls from the store personnel telling me "we at this store don't allow any returns is that clear" I called corporate again and had the lady from there call the store manager they were so pissed off about them calling that they ended up doing the return. disgrace for this store and how they run it!!!!!
