    Not coming clean
    Matthew B.

Well Ashley you got my $40. Bought a rug from the sale rugs, fine. Expected it to maybe need vacuumed or even a at most a cleaning. But this rug looks like it was used to change tires on. It's not even salvageable, rented a carpet cleaner too. Wasted my time and my money. Should have been tossed in the trash. Congrats you got me. After the $1000's I have spent on some really nice pieces I am not thrilled I feel cheated over a rug.

2 and a half months ago, I paid in full for a dining set from this store. Since then, the delivery has been rescheduled 7 times. Got another call a few days ago--delayed again. It's almost a joke at this point. Sold my old table 2 months ago just before a scheduled delivery that the store canceled 3 days before. This is how I spend Mother's day today. Thanks, Ashley Stores.

Customer service and communication. Ordered sectional 1/24. Wasn't told one component back ordered. New delivery date 2/17. Nope. Then 2/28. Nope. No communication after. Left guessing. Cannot deal direct. Overseas phone center. Now 6 more weeks!!!!! Also one component delivered with stain. Two weeks to get anyone to come out to look at it. Don't purchase from this company. Use RC Wiley. They were easy to get answers from.

I give 5 stars to the delivery drivers, Edgar & company. My sofa delivery ETA was between 8:30 to 11am, and they arrived at 8:45. I didn't realize the sofa size was huge and the entrance to my house was very narrow, with a post that is in the way. Edgar and his buddy made every possible way to get my sofa inside carefully not to damage anything. Once they got the sofa in, they were in and out of my house within 5 minutes, despite having to do some minor assembly. Kudos to the delivery drivers! They work very hard for customers

    Sofa cushions breaking down

Had a sofa and loveseat from them and had it 1 year. At six months the cushions went from being really firm. To completely sunken in. We had extended warranty and called. They came out to see the sofa and said it wasn't covered because it's wear and tear. But the employee said he would help us out. And ordered us new cushions. Took a couple weeks to get. And we were told we had to put the new cushions in. I called again for someone to come out and he did help with putting new cushions in. Which was great. But now a few months later cushion have broken down and base is failing. It's now a back breaking sofa. It hurts to sit in. I know you get what you pay for but one year later totally unhappy. I would say pay a little more and get something that will last at least a few years.

I've been on the hunt for a sectional couch so this was one of the places I wanted to check out. I had never been in here before. It was easy to find & park. What I didn't like right away was the uneven ground out front of the store. (see photos) This I found to be a dangerous hazard as someone may trip & fall from it so they really should address this. The store wasn't that big compared to another local furniture store I've been too. I was greeted upon my entrance by a young man. I told him what I was looking for & he directed me into the areas I should focus on to find what I was looking for. I didn't find anything that I liked. I did have to use the bathroom & the guy had walked me over to that area. I liked that he wasn't pushy or following me around the store. I like to go in & look around without being bothered. If I have questions I'm not shy in asking. Unfortunately I didn't find a sectional that I liked. Their prices are a little hight to begin with & I'm not looking to pay an arm & leg for a sectional. The set up was beautiful as they do have some nice pieces but I'm giving them 3 stars due to the unsafe walkway & their outrageous prices on their selections. They also didn't have a little snack & drink place set up like I've found at other nearby furniture stores. :-/

Table after less than a year.

The saga continues today. I called Ashley corporate to try and sort through the issues. They have a "delivery" scheduled for tomorrow but the last time they showed up when I didn't schedule one they were here to take a coffee table without a replacement only a credit memo. They have nothing that looks remotely the same so I didn't want a credit. She assures me this time they do have a replacement table. We will see. So I follow up on my dining room table. She tells me she has no record that the table was ever ordered let alone delivered with missing parts (even though they sent one of them - I think it needs 4??) and the local store would handle this. However she says the phone for the local store has been down for 2 weeks and there is no way to contact them. She told me if I need to speak when them I have to literally drive to the store - but she would send a message to have them hopefully call me. Maybe their email is down too since I've send 10 follow-ups on the parts and no one is responding. Meanwhile the side table they sent me a new top for is already cracking after just a month in my house.

    My desk I got. Perfect.

I decided to get my DREAM desk here. The staff understood that I prefer to browse alone and gave me space to do so. Eventually I found my desk and the process from selecting to walking out after paying was smooth. The only thing I would recommend is them having bags for items that can be carried out of the store like small decorations and blankets. Besides that the store is safe from trip hazards, clean bathrooms, credit card vending machines, and the prices are clearly displayed. Ordered my desk and delivery was quick.

    Our cute new bed!

When you buy your first new house, you want to fill it with furniture that isn't hand-me-downs. And after my mom told me that Ashleys was having their big Presidents Day sale, my husband and I decided to take a look once again here. We had pursued about a month earlier and didn't really love any of the couches or tables, but we did find a bed we loved. We figured we head in and see if it was on sale. When we walked in, we were instantly greeted by Michael C. He asked if we needed any help to just come find him and even told us that he could probably get us up to 50% off that day. We had originally started the day thinking we were going to buy our couch, but after hearing that, we mosied back to where the bed we had seen a few weeks prior. We fell in love with it, and I even loved the matching dresser and nightstands. It was a pretty big deal, since we both really couldn't agree on anything. Michael made his way back to us again and checked in with us. He ended up starting us a mobile cart on his tablet and as we talked and looked around, he kept adding more and more discounts for us. After we decided on the bed, we decided we needed a mattress. Of course, I know the sales people here are supposed to get your started on the temperpedic cuz it's the most expensive. But we ended up going with a different mattress. Again, Michael was super helpful and patient with us, as next to our house, it was the biggest purchase we've made in a while hah. When it came time for us to finish and check out, we applied for the financing. They offered up to 60 months, even with the 40% off, but Michael's manager said they didn't want to finance that for us since we weren't spending enough. Not totally sure how close to $7K is not enough, but I do get we did get a lot of details. My husband was ready to walk out haha, but I told him hey, we love the bed and it's super discounted, let's just try to meet in the middle with them. Michael ended up advocating for us, and we even put some money down, so they got us a little bit better of a deal, which was great. This store definitely has a lot of options and I definitely think the best time to shop has to be when they have a sale, otherwise, dang, you'll end up paying a lot. But, my parents have bought furniture here before and have had it for years with no issues, so I know they do make some good quality stuff. Now, I just have to anxiously await our new bedset, which thanks to the pandemic, won't be here until 1-4 months haha. But again, big thanks to Michael C for taking such great care of us!

I am not someone who enjoys department store shopping, so I came in with a very specific goal. I wanted a piece of artwork and a basket, then planned to leave. The store itself was difficult to navigate. Multiple aisles were blocked with merchandise, carts, tall baskets, or abandoned items that had not been shelved. More than once, I could not get my cart down an aisle or maneuver larger items without backing out and rerouting. I picked up a tufted storage stool and later a large art piece, but navigating the store with them became unnecessarily frustrating. The larger issue, however, was the customer service. When I entered the store, I did not even grab a cart because I intended to browse quickly. While walking through the clearance section, I found a faux rabbit rug or throw with a red clearance sticker for $29.99. Another customer nearby commented on how soft and luxurious it felt. We joked about it and discussed how comfortable clients would find something like that in an office space. At that point, I decided to purchase it, even though it was not originally on my shopping list. After continuing to browse, I selected artwork and a tufted storage piece and headed to checkout. At the register, the associate, Marsha, immediately looked at the rug and loudly said, "This is not on sale. This isn't $29." Before even attempting to scan the item, she ripped the red sticker off, left the register, and began calling for a manager while openly discussing the pricing issue. The entire interaction felt accusatory, loud, and unnecessarily confrontational. At no point had I argued about the price or requested a discount. I simply explained that I had picked the item up in the clearance section. When Marsha returned, she continued speaking to management on her headset with visible frustration and an attitude that felt entirely misplaced. She pushed the rug aside as though the purchase was no longer happening and moved on to ringing other items. I finally asked, "Are you going to scan the rug?" She responded, "Uh... yeah... you still want it?" Of course I did. I had selected it because I liked it. The rug rang up at $99. I purchased it anyway. What bothered me was not the price. It was the immediate assumption that I had done something wrong, the tone used, and the way the interaction was handled in front of other customers. To make matters worse, after paying for everything, my cart beeped at the exit. I paused and looked toward the cashiers. No one acknowledged me or attempted to assist. I tried again, and the alarm sounded a second time. I exited the store and briefly spoke with the same customer I had met in clearance. During that conversation, another associate, Sue, walked outside, grabbed my cart without speaking to me, and took it back inside the store. No explanation. No communication. Nothing. I had literally just completed my purchase. Sue returned with the cart, attempted something inside, and the cart beeped again. Clearly, the issue had not been resolved. By then, I was standing outside feeling less like a customer and more like someone being treated as suspicious despite having just paid moments earlier. Eventually, the manager, Gloria, appeared behind the registers but made no effort to approach me or address the situation. After waiting several minutes, I finally walked back inside. Gloria's response was disappointing. Rather than acknowledging the poor handling of the situation, she focused on explaining that customers sometimes switch tags or attempt scams. I understood immediately why Marsha had approached me the way she did. An assumption had already been made before anyone even scanned the item. I also addressed the fact that an employee had walked outside and taken my cart. Gloria stated that employees are not supposed to leave the building to retrieve stolen merchandise, which only made the situation more confusing considering that is exactly what had just happened. Her resolution was to suggest I call Mohammad, the store manager, on Monday. At that point, I chose to return every item and leave. I previously managed a women's retail store, so I understand customer service, loss prevention, and difficult situations. There were multiple opportunities for professionalism, communication, and de escalation here, and unfortunately, every one of them was missed. I have no desire to return to this location. This experience felt unprofessional from start to finish and left me questioning whether implicit bias influenced the assumptions that were made. Regardless, no paying customer should be treated this way.
