I bought 2 recliners but when I tried to recline them, they won't stay reclined. Keep pushing us forward, foot rests don't stay up unless fully reclined. But they won't stay reclined unless I keep stiff armed. Can't relax if you have to do that. Puts pressure on neck shoulders and between shoulder blades. Then the migraine starts. They refuse to take them back. Said I can get lazboy from another one of their stores which is what I asked for. But no one said they had at other store. Said they'd have to send a tech to adjust the tension. Sent delivery guys. They don't adjust chairs. Then finally sent a tech. Says these chairs can't be adjusted. Said Mgr would call. He called Said they can't take them back, unless I purchased other chairs from other store. I said I thought you said you couldn't take them back. You'll have to talk to my Mgr. I've been an Ashley furniture customer since I was a kid but after receiving damaged table and chairs they never replaced the items. Complete garbage. In addition, I bought the furniture protection which is also a scam between Ashley furniture and furniture care protection because they deny all of the claims filed. Very disappointed with the manager and the service. They delivered my product and had a touch up paint followed by laughing and saying it's magic. I called yesterday with the item number and the person I spoke with was friendly. I told him the prices at Rossos furniture ($100 cheaper) and the guy told me that they price match and that he could actually beat anybody else his price. So I went into the store today and I had the item numbers written down. The guy that was there showed us the two couches that I had written down. They were much bigger than I thought so I looked around. There was a recliner couch that I really liked but it was priced at $1021. I had asked if there was a manual one that was cheaper because this is out of my price range. He pointed to one that was near it and I sat on it but it was much harder than the first one. I once again asked him if they do price matching and he said yes. I also asked if they have a military discount since the Navy exchange carries Ashley Furniture. But they do not have a military discount. So of course I looked up on the Internet to price match. I showed him what I found and he said I would have to pay additional $200 for shipping. I showed him the webpages that the same couch was priced at $791.78, $819.99 and even $831.99 on Ashley webpage. I showed this to the guy saying that the guy yesterday and he told me that they price match and this is even the Ashley HomeStore webpage for $200 less. He had the excuse saying that each store is individually owned. I said oh so in reality you're not gonna do price match so why do you tell people youll price match when you don't. He said he could do the $831 and $199 delivery, I said thats still over $1000. I told him that's fine I'll go somewhere else. This place is just greedy. Only needed just the headboard because we have an adjustable bed set, but also needed two end tables, a dresser, and a five drawer chest. We were helped by Mariela Olvera and she did an excellent job of answering our questions and pricing numerous combinations before we finally chose our set. Mariela was professional and friendly. My husband and I came during the COVID months and I was happy to see that all the employees were wearing masks and there was a sanitation station in every corner. Our experience was excellent at this location in Gilroy. I first spoke with Alex in regard to a concern we had at another store in San Jose. Alex was very kind, helpful and tried to help me get answers on what could be done to help our situation. We then worked with Joe the sales person @ the Gilroy location. He was very informative, kind mannered and helpful. Last but not least, I spoke with Frank the Manager @ the Gilroy location and he too was polite, understanding and helpful. If you want honest and caring service... We recommend the Gilroy Location! We had just purchased couches from the store on Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose. When the furniture arrived it was so much darker than expected or looked in the store. I was very disappointed and I called the S.J. store right after delivery and I was told there was nothing they would do about it. There are no exchanges or returns. I was told to buy new pillows or rugs to offset the dark color. I was also told the furniture was at the back of a poorly lit area and they have artificial light. That is why it looked so dark in my home. We were in disbelief because we were not told they had a no exchange or return policy. If we had known that, we wouldn't have purchased from the San Jose location. Please beware! I was so excited to get new couches after 18 years. I now have to sell the new couches @ a loss because we did not know the policy or did we expect to be treated without care. We were told the stores are not all owned by the same people and they can have different policies. However, the Staff @ the Gilroy Location was a positive experience. read more

Spent $5,000 there 6 months ago. Juan was the salesman and he told me when I bought the couches if there was any major spills or tears on the couch within the first year, the warranty would cover it. Huge spill today, called and the lady I spoke with on the phone told me that it wasn't covered. Got a simple I'm sorry, not an offer to help pay or anything. I visit Ashley's to check out some dining room chairs, the sells clerk was somewhat helpful but didn't know his pricing very well. Let me start by saying they told me the chairs that I wanted were Were $309.95 each, when in fact the were that price for the set of TWO!They were trying to price gouge I didn't appreciate the dishonesty of this establishment. Check you prices! Stay away from this outlet as they are not very honest. Today, we were supposed to get our couch! (Yay!). Then... after waiting all day and still not hearing a peep, my husband called. Guess what? Still not coming until the first week of October! So my husband requested a refund, A few hours later I called back to try and salvage this whole ordeal... from the time they talked to my husband (which I heard the conversation on speakerphone) to me calling... it got pushed to the 3rd week of October! Seriously?! The kicker was when the lady said "we tried to call you but your voicemail wasn't set up". This is unequivocally false! We both run home based businesses so our voicemails are more than set up! $1400 and nothing to show for it. I really LOVE that couch but this is beyond ridiculous. read more

I came into the store in dire need of a new couch. This was our first couch my husband and I purchased new from a store so we were very excited to test out and get the full experience from buying a new couch for our home. Our salesman Ahmed was very helpful, patient and personable. He did a great job helping us and being patient while we sat on almost every couch. They were having great deals during Black Friday Nov 2021 and we pulled the trigger on a great deal we knew we couldn't pass up. We ordered a 2 piece sectional, corner chaise sofa and an ottoman. We were told the couch would deliver in late December early January. The time frame was not to big of a problem at first, our couch actually came very fast. Much faster than the ETA date and once it was in the warehouse (misleading the couches get delivered to Ashley Furniture warehouse in Salinas) we took a drive to pick up our sectional. The ottoman was not yet in and we were told it would be delivered once it came in. Fast forward a month later and we received a call that our ottoman came in January 27th, 2022 and was at the Gilroy store. We went that same day to pick it up and once we got home to open it up It was the WRONG color! We waited 2 months for the wrong ottoman to come. I called the very next day (1/28) to discuss the mix up and turned out the wrong item number was ordered. I left my information with an associate and was told a manger would call me back. Here is where it takes a turn and I have yet to receive any help. After 4 days have passed and I have still yet to get a phone call from a manager I give Ashley furniture a call (2/1/2022) and was told yet again the manager will call me. (2/7) Another 5 days no phone call I called Ashely Furniture in Gilroy , turns out the manager is out sick and they will forward my information to the manager in Salinas, Greg. (2/8/2021 Called Salinas Ashley furniture and Greg was with a customer, they took my information and he will call me once he is done. Great! Finally thought I would get somewhere.. Nope. (2/9/2022) I called Salinas, was told Greg was gone for the day but will be in Gilroy store. Called Gilroy and left a message. Greg called me back that evening and said they ordered the wrong item, I would have to return the ottoman and once I do that they can order the correct ottoman. I was not pleased with the way he handled this, I will not wait another 2+ months to order the correct ottoman color and wait for it to come in without being compensated or having any customer service. He offered a 10% discount on the floor model, that was the most he could do... SO I paid to wait 2 months, receive horrible customer service after they are unwilling to make it right and get 10% off the floor model where thousands of people coming in and out of the store put their dirty shoes on and they want me to bring that into my home. Unacceptable!! 2/10/2022 I went into the store personally, thankfully the salesman was there and remembered me as soon as I walked in. I understand it was a simple mistake , I explained it was not his fault its the horrible service I have received after the fact and they still cannot make it right. I have not only gave them my business but I referred my family to them and they purchased a $4,000 sectional. I just want you Ashley Furniture Home Store in Gilroy to order my ottoman the correct color and deliver it to my house. When you deliver the correct ottoman the wrong color can be picked up. My wife and I were in the market for a sectional and came here we were greeted by salesperson Joe who was polite and not pushy at all, in fact one of the first things he said to us was "I don't expect you to buy anything today, I just want to make sure you make the educated choice" and that sat really well with me, he showed us a few pieces and then let us browse on our own. We found one that we liked but just to do our due diligence we left and went to Living Spaces in San Jose where we were greeted by pushy sales people that wouldn't leave us alone so we left here and decided to check the Ashley in San Jose as well since it is a bit bigger than Gilroy. After looking around we found the same sectional we liked in Gilroy and decided that was definitely the one. Since we had to head back south anyway we decided we'd rather deal with Joe in Gilroy and went back where upon walking through the from door he greeted us and remembered both of our names. I've walked through this showroom multiple times and every time I was treated with respect and given the space I needed to get ideas of what I liked and what I think would be nice in my home. Tonight, this salesman (name withheld) who attempted to "help" me was not only condescending but his sarcasm and lack of professionalism was getting on my last nerve. It felt like I walked into a car dealership rather than a furniture store talking to a guy who was only out to make his commission. He couldn't even get how many months are in three years and their anniversary sales has a "special THIRTY SIX MONTHS (3 year) zero percent financing rate"!! The pressure to make a huge purchase (dining set and sectional) was overwhelming and the "deal" with this so called "owner" over the phone wasn't helping him close any type of deal with me. There was so many flashing lights telling me to get out of there and away from this person that I just walked away. Then he had the audacity to "check in on me" and belittle me at the same time. WTF?! This place is not getting my business at all! [note] read the fine print with their financing deals. Example: 12 months at 0%, needs to be a purchase of 1k or higher with 10% down, same with 36 months (3 years for the simple minded) but with 15 or 20% down, I can't remember because I was being patronized!!! read more

He was very knowledgeable on the different recliners. I let him know we were just looking. He still treated us really nice. A few days later I brought my parents in and we purchased a very nice recliner from Joe. Store is nice, wasn't pressured by any sales representatives while we looked throughout the store. Picked a sectional couch and had Joe help us out. Joe was a nice guy and helped us with the purchase. The lady doing the paperwork said do not call, they will call us for a ship date in next 7 to 10 days. I ordered this on 12/6/19 to get it in before Christmas. 2 weeks passed and I had to call them only to be told that due to someone being sick nobody realized my couch wasn't delivered. That's the worst excuse ever and just shows the managers incompetence. 1 employee out and it gets pushed aside. In the end it took until January to get it into my house. They kept saying they would refund the delivery charge but that never happened even after calling a few times. Manager never got around to even talking to me, too busy. We ordered 3 pieces of furniture on May 6th. Manny was our sales person and he was wonderful, didn't pressure us, offered us a few different options to fit our budget and style, was great. However, it's been almost 2 months and we haven't received any of the furniture we ordered. Why order from a store if you're going to wait 2 months?! We got a call over a week ago stating that one of the items was still on back order, so I asked that the other 2 items be delivered asap. The woman on the phone was less than pleasant and less than helpful. She said "Oh well one of the items is in, and the other isn't so we'll deliver when the second item arrives, but that could be another 2 weeks". I asked to speak with a manager so that I could get the dresser delivered because we are still living out of baskets. She said the manager was on another call but would call me back. Well...a week and a half later, no call from the manager, and no call for an updated delivery date. For the amount of money that you spend on delivery alone, this place is 100% not worth it. I suggest buying from a "mom and pop's" store, or buy online, just not at Ashley unless you can afford to wait FOREVER to receive what you're paying for. read more

Wish we'd stuck to Rosso's Furniture for our latest purchases. It's all the same furniture anyways. Got bombarded by a sales agent as soon as we stepped through the door who wouldn't leave us be to even look around. Faked a promotion and acted like we got some amazing deal when I was looking online at costs before arriving and while shopping. Annoying! Purchased a bed, couch and recliner only to get called a few weeks later and told our beds on back order. Okay, things happen I get it. But he proceeded to tell me I didn't pay for delivery and that they'd give me free delivery for my trouble. I knew I'd paid delivery as it was a selling point and a focal point of multiple conversation throughout the purchase. Once I proved it to him he scrambled to come up with a way to appease me. Without ever apologizing for his error and mistake. To only offer a refund of the $95.00 delivery fee. I'm sorry but if I'm dropping $3500 on a few pieces of cheap ass furniture I don't care about $100. Still pissed off and would have canceled the entire order had my husband not called and set up delivery of the rest of our purchase. Don't be fooled by false "deals" and don't let them pressure you into sales. Rosso's in Gilroy is a much more honest and reliable company. Don't overpay for cheap furniture. The minute I walked into Ashley's Furniture Store I was warmly greeted by Joe Rondez. I went in looking for a very specific kitchen table and Joe provided such stellar service. Joe is one of a kind, takes his time, and I feel lucky to have worked with him. He went above and beyond to get me just what I was looking for. I gave him details of what I wanted for my kitchen and he provided his best suggestions without any pressure. He is very knowledgeable, super friendly and very passionate about what he does. He helped me find my perfect table and I can't wait for my table to arrive! I loved working with Joe so much that I went back the next day to purchase a beautiful bedroom set from him! I'll be back for more furniture in the future and I have already recommended my family and friends to go to Ashley's! I wish I would have read the reviews for this place first before purchasing several items! Just like a lot of the unhappy customer reviews, ours is the same unfortunately. The show room is nice but the service and delivery is absolutely horrible. We ordered a dining room set and sectional back in February and our delivery times keep getting canceled and pushed out with no reasons why, no call backs, just no communication at all! Then we're told that our chairs with the dining room table won't be in until June! We asked if they would give us the chairs that are on display in their show room and they said no. Really? This is the worst customer service experience that I've had to deal with. We're beyond frustrated with this place, we don't know what to do. read more

Robbery!!!!!!!!!!! The final straw as we were stuck staying with our purchase, the delivery guys majorly scratched our front door, paint came off, scratched our brand new floors. This place really needs some professional training in customer service and the language they use talking with customers. We had ordered some items that took forever to come in, and we consistently were told different stories why it wasn't there. When one item came in, one of the salesman said we need to come pick it up because it was taking up space in their warehouse. His tone was not pleasant at all.
