BUYER BEWARE. My husband and I were in the process of purchasing a sectional at the Geneva location when the sales associate stated she charged our credit card without setting up our customer account and delivery location. She charged the sectional purchase to a "test account" and needed to charge our credit card again. What? Does this make any sense? Are you confused? Yes. So were we. Sound odd? Fishy? Lack confidence in purchasing? After we canceled the order and demanded our credit card be refunded we left. The whole situation just seems ODD. How do you miss a lay-up? We were a set sale. Sounds like we dodged a big bullet. That sectional would've never even been delivered to our home, most likely. Maybe we would've been double charged? Who knows? These questions will never be answered. Thank God! And when we asked to speak to the manager and then requested her biz card, she gave us the sales associates card that botched the sale. Hmmmm. We bought several pieces at a 5 year no interest loan, and set up automated payments at the store so the balance will be zero upon maturity of the loan. 5 Years later, payments were NOT set up right and there was a small balance when the loan was due. We were charged 35% of the original amount!! We called explaining the set up was wrongly made at the store, no one cared. Their financing partner Synchrony bank took zero responsibility too. Policy on exchange is Horrid.!!! I bought a bed that in 3 nights of sleeping on it has now caused a nerve problem in my leg to get aggravated. I now have to wait 30 days before I can exchange it!!! I don't call that Customer Service . They said No to my problem and want me to pay to go to my Doctor and get a written statement about my leg. Would you not think that a bed only used 3 nights is better to get back than one used for 30 days! I would tell anyone to listen carefully because I was told" you have "Within " 30 days to exchange the bed, key word Within,,,, I tried after 3days!!!! I hope this helps someone!!! read more

I just recently purchased furniture from Sania A. at the Ashley store in Geneva IL. She was such a big help to me and very respectful of my needs and concerns. After the delivery persons left my house, I sat on the chair and it made a loud noise. A bolt fell out of it. I'm not good on the phone or internet to reach out so I returned to the store. She was apologetic and handled everything for me right from your store. This young woman took the time to help me and I really want you to know how kind and respectful she is. Just bought a leather sofa bed from Ashley Geneva Illinois. They didn't have it in the store, so I had to take the recommendation from the salesperson, Malika. She was very helpful, made sure that I got the sales price, and noted on the invoice that I wanted delivery as soon as possible. It came 13 days earlier than the original estimated delivery date! The delivery notification was also great. They confirmed the date and time of the delivery right up to the hour! The men were courteous, efficient, and removed all the packaging. Best of all the sofa bed is GREAT. The sofa is beautiful and comfortable. And the bed is surprisingly firmw & supportive. One of the best purchases ever!! Highly recommended! read more

They are absolute nightmares to deal with. Especially Geneva. Believe every bad review you see. AND GO TO CURLYS IN DEKALB. Their delivery and sales people are better all around. We had zero problems with Curly's, and massively regret buying from this location. Also note the generic "copy and paste" style responses they have to every bad review. Pretty bad they have a template for that, huh? 1) buying the furniture online is cheaper. If you must order, test in store and then buy online 2) the delivery people for geneva ashley are VERY dishonest. Have a second person at home and cameras set up. Not kidding. 3) we called in regards to the incomplete order and the girl from this store we talked to was an absolute snot. 4) now on hold with "customer care" for over 30+ minutes. Update: second attempt at coffee table delivery made. There was a large gap from being hastily put together. We refused delivery. SHOCKER that Ashley furniture FAILED to deliver our "Y connector" for one of our couches now purchased last month. Thankfully these delivery men did not spit on our furniture and were very likable. I'll make you scam artists a deal: give us the coffee table we paid for, and the connector we paid for, and this review will be taken down. It stays up until we get what we paid for. We have half a couch that doesn't work and no coffee table. If this is not fixed and done with in one month we will investigate with how to proceed in other areas. We have pictures/videos and email communication. Original: This was our experience: two men show up (on time) to deliver a $3K order. They forgot one power cord. They said they'd have it shipped to us. No biggie; this happens. 1/4 of our couch order doesn't recline, supposedly it was being addressed. Then as he's talking, one of the guys has SPIT fly out of his mouth and land on the brand new couch. It gets worse. They assembled the coffee table, and brought it up the driveway. And RAMMED our new coffee table into the railing. Then they unscrewed a few fittings (not knowing I was watching on Ring), came to the door and said "look, it's wobbly. It's a manufacture defect." They did not make me sign for the coffee table thank goodness (I would have raised a ruckus if they asked me to). But they then showed me the message they sent to the company regarding the incomplete order (one coffee table and a "Y" cord). They told US that customer service would call us. What a shock that nobody called us until my husband gave them bad feedback. Now the snot we spoke with at the Geneva location less than 30 minutes ago said "she never got their message regarding the cord." She hung up on us. Not even kidding. If we had a patient, gracious or even mildly apologetic individual this would not be a review, just a massive annoyance. I will now be recommending everyone speak to; go anywhere else but Ashley. We purchased a sleeper sofa from here with Malai. My wife went to the store and picked one out and sent me the link to it. I was concerned that it would not fit down the stairs though. I spoke with Malai and gave her the measurements of the stairway and entrance to the stairway. and she guaranteed it would fit down their easily and if not that they would remove the banister to get it down and put it back up. SO we ordered on the spot and waited about 5 months. Well they went to deliver the couch on Wednesday and the crew refused to even attempt to bring it downstairs. The stood the couch on end and said it wouldn't fit. They would only take it down if we signed a damage waiver which we were never told about previous to this. Again Malai guaranteed it would fit without any issues. They left the couch there with us then. I called the store to speak with Malai about this and she was off. I explained to the store what was happening and was told Malai would call me back immediately. 3 hours later I never received a call. I then called and spoke with Jennifer who agreed this was not acceptable and was unprofessional. She took my info and said Malai would call me at 1pm on Thursday. I thought that would be fine but Thursday came and went and no one called. I called in again today and Malai was with another customer so she is supposed to call me back yet gain. As of 4/29/22 at 3:23 pm there has not been one apology or effort to remedy the situation. At this point it is clear Malai purposefully deceived us about it fitting or at least about their effort/ability to bring it down. So needless to say my wife and I brought it down last night without taking a banister down at all. If we can do this then how can their delivery team not do it? Here is our experience so far, since 5/12/23, when my sales rep at the store told to call  our Waranty Co.  We did. They said only the sofa wasn't covered.  We sent over proof.  Just to find out that we need to work with store for 1st yr. Called Ashley Warranty C/S 5/15/23 was advised we will hear from SAW within 48 HRS. SAW Enterprises (FURNITURE REPAIR) 843-900-2373 To repair couch 5/24/23 : Mariano(supervisor) said that we are still waiting on the stores coordinator to assign Saw the work order.  He is contacting her and marking us as urgent. Brittany Hance (coordinator for Store) needs to approve . - la.hance@ashleydsg.com 5/30/23:  spoke to Micah(woman). She said wrong coordinator was assigned.  Correct coordinator is Luther Elmore.  Micah said we shld hear from tech within 48 hrs. I asked how I reach Luther.  She said said she does not have that information to give. I asked for Supervisor.  She said that a mgr will call me as soon as they are free. Buyer beware! While Ashley says on their receipt "We are dedicated to providing exceptional service for all guests", the reality is far different. Since they requested feedback, here is mine: My son bought a pricey pillow off the shelf, no special order, it was in stock at the Geneva store. Once home, he immediately realized he didn't want to spend $200 for a pillow. He attempted to return it. This is when they show their true colors. No returns once you've left the store. It hasn't even been out of the box! So they don't care about your experience, they care about their sale. Not customer satisfaction, not a way to get repeat sales, one and done. Okay. I predict this location will be closed soon. PS: No mention at time of sale that items are non-returnable. That's noted on page 4 of the receipt they hand you before you walk out the door and can no longer return your purchase. What a scam. read more

The only reason I'm taking one star off is because the "White Glove Delivery" was absolutely horrible. They put gauges in my wall, took of the paint on both my walls and banister all while not asking where I wanted the furniture. As for the store experience, I can't say enough good things about it. Our salesperson was Paria and she helped us out tremendously. My husband and I bought a new place recently so we had to furnish some rooms. Paria didn't hover, was available when we had questions and helped out with the price and delivery. When the couch didn't fit, we refused it and went back to Ashley to look for another one. Paria had the day off; therefore, we worked with Sania, and she was great as well. Even though Paria had the day off, they worked together to help my husband and I out. The soonest delivery date for the new couch was a week out which we were fine with. That night Sania called me saying that she was able to get our couch delivered that Saturday due to the horrible experience we had with the first delivery of our furniture. Those two women really went above and beyond their jobs for my family and I couldn't be more grateful. read more

The middle wedge of my sectional arrived broken. I didn't notice until the delivery folks left. It's been impossible to get anything done with customer service. They claim a tech needs to come out to see if it should be repaired. Yet, it's clearly unrepairable. Multiple calls with customer service, emails, texts, and it's still not replaced. I asked almost a week ago to have a manager call me and no one has returned my call. Their other phone numbers go unanswered. That's a retailer that doesn't understand that problems are opportunities. My husband wrote a review about how we ordered,and paid in full, our furniture Nov 18,2020. Was told delivery would be the beginning of February. Then the first official delivery date was February 18. Then it became a lot of lies and unkept promises. "Oh your furniture is in. We can deliver Monday" then nothing. Then we got A PIECE of our sectional and the ottoman to the chair, but no chair. Since then it's been delivery date change after delivery date change. How do you make a piece of a sectional but not the rest of it??? Layne in Escalations got involved. "Your furniture will be delivered April 8!!" Hallelujah!! On Monday april 5, I confirmed the delivery of both missing pieces. Thursday april 8, only the chair arrives. Still missing the rest of the sectional. The missing sofa that was promised to arrive in February, then March, then April, then May, then Layne saved the day and found one to deliver on April 8. Nope. All lies. How was it on the list Monday but doesn't exist on Thursday?? My guess is this couch no longer exists. It has been discontinued(this is a fact, stated on their website) It's the only piece of furniture in the company made with this velvet fabric. They have no more. Maybe, or they are all idiots and lose the pieces of furniture and have no idea where anything is???? Which is it Ashley???? I've been eyeing a couch set for the last year and Dan Smith was our salesman who was extremely helpful, patient, answered all of our questions and wasn't overbearing (as in checked in when we had questions but didn't stalk us as we explored the store). I bought it the other day and highly recommend asking for Dan Smith to help you if you want a smooth sales experience!! The only thing less than stellar I can say is that we opted to pick it up ourselves from the romeoville warehouse...Dan warned me that it might be a long wait...well depends on how much free time and patience you have...I would say save yourself the grief of the warehouse and just pay for the delivery. I won't be doing a self-pickup again as it's a slow process and there was only one other customer there with us. I can only imagine if there were more people and they have signs posted everywhere it takes two hours to get your stuff. Bought new living room furniture 11/2022. Paid a handsome penny. Found serious manufacturing defects with the couch when it was delivered on 12/5/2022 . I wanted the couch replaced as it stated because I purchased new and I wanted new. They said they had to send out service first. Another few weeks went by and service finally came out and he informed us "the cardboard collapsed in the arm" Cardboard? He also found other defects with the couch and ottoman we purchased that we did not know about. Again, we told him that we did not want the furniture repaired, we wanted new. He actually took our side and sent us a copy of his report noting the defects. Ashley got back to us today and will not replace the less than 1 month old furniture. During the course of looking into this further, we found out that others complained that what Ashley shows in the showroom is not the same as what they ship the consumer. I have saved every conversation I have had with Ashley as well as screen shots of texts from Ashley on various numbers. This was just a readers digest version. I have a growing paper trail of the poor customer service, not to mention photos of the floor model vs what was delivered. Not manufactured the same at all, as floor model is built better. read more

quite literally the worst company I've ever had to deal with. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I ignored all the reviews and yet I find myself in the same place as everyone else on yelp. Without furniture and without answers. We ordered a couch months ago for May delivery. It continued to get push week after week ( surprise). One week our left arm and ottoman were in, the next it was something different and then all of a sudden nothing was in! It's our delivery day today finally and our delivery drivers are doing circles in a parking lot and never showed up. Funny enough, Ashley doesn't know how to contact the delivery drivers, which means this won't be getting delivered today and we'll be canceling our order because I am absolutely done dealing with and giving our money to them. Lastly, their sales people are very untrustworthy and only out to make their monthly commission. We had ordered a bed for august delivery from Greta or Gretchen? Fine. We continued to check in on the order when we checked in on the couch only to find out there was actually NEVER any date against our bed order AKA who knows when it would actually have been produced, we canceled and she has the audacity to text my fiancé and complain and then bluntly lied and said it was slotted to be in July to try and keep her monthly commission - my mind is blown. They made continued mistakes regarding delivery of a mattress and refused to deal with it. It took 3 full months to end up with a working bed setup, and it required me to drive an hour back to the store to pick up the last piece that they forgot on their redelivery. My pregnant wife made SO MANY phone calls and had to remain on our uncomfortable bed while they continued to drag their feet. Worst service ever! If you want to tie up your money and time, you are shopping at the right store. In August, I ordered dining room table, chairs, server, barstools, rug, sofa table, end table and cocktail table. Some of the items were in stock and the remainder of the items would be available in January. When I started checking on the status of the order in December, none of the items were in stock. What happened to the items that were in stock in August? The salesperson and the manager told me a few of the items had arrived and I could take a partial delivery. However, when I called customer service, I was told that none of the items were in stock. I called weekly in December only to be told the same story. To make matters worse, in December they charged my credit card for delivery and set up fees for items I had yet to receive. I called my salesperson who told me to call Customer Service. They couldn't help and told me to contact my salesperson. He wrote up a ticket to get this resolved. Almost two months later, the issue has not been resolved. I have been told everything from "it should be resolved in a week" to "it takes 2 to 3 billing cycles for it to be resolved." Now, they no longer respond to emails or return my calls! read more

I'd like to give a zero to all of Ashley if possible. I just purchased my first home back in March of this year and have been to this store a couple of times to confirm the full living room, dining room and additional bedroom pieces that I wanted to purchase. I worked with Blake one of the store managers. Ordered my furniture paid almost $6000 for all of it INCLUDING the extended protection plan. Delivery was fine the guys did a great job and were in and out quickly. The after delivery was where the problems started I purchased MANY pieces of the Bolanburg set. Dining table and 6 chairs, coffee table, two smart end tables, a chest of drawers, and another end table. About 2 months in of owning it all a bubble in the middle of my table pops up. I attempt to get through to customer care several times. Wait times were astronomical, I get it we were in the middle of COVID. I finally talked to someone and got photos over to them. Someone called me back and left a message that the table was recalled....mind you all the pieces I listed above have the SAME table top. They said I could ONLY reselect the table. They wouldn't take the whole SET back because the chairs were not recalled. I could pick something of equal or greater value at my own expense and they wouldn't refund me if I selected something less expensive. The problem? My table is counter height and rectangular. The OTHER counter height table in the group? Square with leaves that would pop up to make a round table. I hated that table when I saw it and it doesn't fit my space. Also cosmetically this entire set SUCKS. The tops of everything are chipping with literally nothing touching them. See photos. So at this point I was told I have the option to either reselect a different table or I can get a replacement of the same table but if the SAME thing happens they aren't going to let me reselect again. My ENTIRE home is decorated with this collection. I will be going to the store to get a hold of a manager because Blake has stopped responding to any text I send his way. Well that was disappointing!! My husband and I came in on a Sunday evening knowing EXACTLY what piece of furniture we wanted to buy, literally ready to hand over our money. We were never greeted or approached during the 20 minutes we spent walking around the store. Finally I approached two gentlemen playing on their phones who stated they worked for the financing portion of the store but would find an employee to help us. We watched one of the men approach a large group of staff and NO ONE MOVED. We continued walking around nearby when a female employee finally approached us and I stated that we would like to purchase a bed. She stared at us blankly until we repeated ourselves then said she would get her computer. Instead, she approached the group of employees and started talking again. Some people need to learn about unauthorized charges, not my issue if the original sale is still prolonged due to availability in this country. Resolution is not their strong point. We ordered a sectional in November and was told it would deliver in end of January early February. It delivered in July. We tried to cancel this order several times but we're told we could only get a store credit. Left about a dozen messages for the sales person and manager. Never got one call returned. It was delivered by some shady company that damaged our new floor. Delivery guys also we're trying to sell us driveway Sealcoating. Still waiting for a call back or email from the claims department. It kind of says it all right there when you need to employ a department of people to handle your customer claims. I will never buy anything again from Ashley furniture. We purchased a queen-size bedroom set in April 2023 but received it with broken drawers and a damaged headboard. Reported at delivery of goods. Even after a repair person came, the drawers and headboard are still damaged as the parts delivered were incorrect. Ashley's policy is to repair or replace damaged items, however, they did not replace them and the repairs are taking too long. The salesperson and store manager are not helpful. We want you to be aware of our experience before making a purchase decision at this store. read more

I wish I read the reviews before I purchased anything from here. I waited almost 4 months for my couch. When it finally delivered it arrived late and it wasn't within the timeframe they promised. It was also damaged when it arrived so we had to refuse the shipment. A week later it was shipped to us and the couch was dirty and scuffed up so we had to refuse it once again! I was unable to get ahold of anyone at the store and when you speak to customer service the only response you get is "I'll message the manager." Never again will I order from here. I bought a sectional couch, dining table and chairs, and kitchen table and chairs. The materials themselves are decent, but the communication was absolutely horrendous. Our delivery was postponed twice and they had delivered incorrect materials. The delivery men said we had 72 hours to exchange or return, so we left the incorrect materials in the home. They then refused to exchange or return the incorrect items because they said "It is against company policy to take furniture that was in someone's home." This is after 2 separate employees at the store said we can exchange the materials. So now we have incorrect items that we had to pay for and have no way of returning. Well, the barstools finally arrived... much later than promised. There were supposed to be two, unassembled stools. The delivered one that was assembled, and one that was boxed. The assembled one had lots of scratches and even a piece of wood broken off -- my guess is that it was their floor sample. We assembled the one that was boxed today... it has damage as well, a big scratch on the back and long dent further down on the back. Thing is, they've worn me out...I can do this anymore. We're going to keep them and live with them, and it'll be a reminder to tell anyone who will listen to stay away from this store. Clearly, reading the reviews this is a pattern. We bought a bed and dresser for our daughter as a birthday gift in Sept. We knew it was a lower end store but the cost is not cheap. The first bed delivery was damaged, second wrong and third damaged. The dresser had the wrong color hardware. It is almost January and she is still sleeping on a box spring on the floor four months later. Cheap construction is clear from all the damage. A pleasant salesperson sold us on some nice furniture and the worst service experience ever. We found the right furniture, had it delivered, discovered it was damaged, and the nightmare began. We called immediately when we found the torn fabric and damaged structure. Asked if we could trade for another piece and was told it would not be an issue. Lie #1. Received texts from a "technician" needing photos to provide a resolution. I asked to speak to with technician and was told I'd get a call within 48 hours which never came. Lie #2. Called the store with my complaint and spoke with operations specialist. Told it was out of their hands and that Ashley was made up of several divisions they had no control over (excellent representation) and I had sacrificed any exchange when the delivery people left without me checking every inch of the product, finding the defect, and forcing them to take back the furniture they damaged. Lie #3 (It's called "white glove" delivery service and costs $160.) Bottom Line: Once you sign off at the store, you are absolutely screwed if anything - ANYTHING - goes wrong. Salesperson will lie and tell you that mattresses will be hauled away with delivery of new mattress. When new mattress was delivered, they refused to remove the old mattress and now I have to incur the cost of removal myself. read more

FALSE ADVERTISING!!! We purchased a sectional couch from the Ashley Home store in Geneva Illinois in February 2022. When we selected and purchased this couch from the showroom the couch was manufactured with springs included under the cushions. When we received our couch 2 months later, we found that they had sent us a cheaper version of the couch that contained no springs under the cushions and even had black material instead of tan. Ashley told us they stopped manufacturing couches with springs after we made our purchase. We called Ashley within the 72 hour period (specified in our contract) to tell them we are unsatisfied and they still will not let us return the couch. Look at the pictures attached. It is obviously a different product. We have had to seek legal representation just to return a couch... Unless you have unlimited money, and don't mind wasting it, do not shop here! read more

This is the long awaited final review of our 6/13/20 furniture purchase. At the store itself, Nancy the sales person and all the other managers and such were very helpful during this entire process. Including the ridiculous deliver bait and switch delays which the store employees have nothing to do with. I could go on for pages about the number of times I was lied to regarding delivery and order completion, but right now isn't the point. Here is the point. I left a complaint here on Yelp with regards to the issue of delivery. Very quickly I was contacted by Mary P. from escalations. She wanted to know ALL the details of the order and complaint. I'll be the first to say that I was not fair to her at first. However, Mary P. made a claim / statement as to the date I'd receive my sectional. Not only did I receive my sectional on that day. I also received the matching Ottoman as well., which wasn't expected for weeks. If you leave a complaint here, and you are contacted by Mary P., she is the one person you can trust. No matter how mad I was,or how nasty of the posts I posted, she was in constant contact with me the entire time. Mary P.........you are what customer care is all about. Thank you so very much.
