This review is specifically for the sales associate, Queen. She is THE BEST! I saw an online ad regarding the Ashley 4th of July sale that peaked my interest. I prefer brick and mortar stores for big purchases like new furniture so my husband and I popped into Ashley. Queen was one of the greeters when we walked into the store. She did an excellent job of giving us enough space to browse on our own while still being nearby in case we had questions, which we did. I appreciated this since many sales associates have the reputation for being overly pushy in order secure a sale. Queen was very kind, extremely knowledgeable, and an amazing listener. After giving her an idea what we were looking for, she recommended some very nice pieces and was able to get us a much better deal than the online sale price! She even checked in on me a few days later to make sure I had received the communication regarding the delivery window for our furniture. We had bought a bed from Ashley along with a few other items and even though we had purchased extended warranty and paid extra for white glove delivery and assembly, the team that fixed the bed didn't fix 2 of the middle legs and they had adamantly refused to attach them when I had pointed it out during installation eventually the bed gave in but to my horror when I tried to get it fixed up or replaced the claim was rejected twice without any reason and it has been 1 month since then that I have been calling various customer services channels and folks to identify the exact part numbers for fixing and now today I was informed that the parts are on back order and may take another month to arrive read more

The behavior that's allowed to run rampant at this place is downright ridiculous. How has management not already taken notice and stepped in to wrangle their employees? Do they love the sight of potential lifetime customers walking away disheartened? Disgusted, even? Are they simply addicted to losing money? Absolutely absurd. Every visit to this store feels like walking into a space where courtesy and professionalism have completely evaporated. The employees act inconvenienced by basic questions, and any attempt to get assistance is met with sighs, eye-rolling, or being flat-out ignored. You come in hopeful about finally furnishing your living room, and you leave wondering how a big-name company allows such reprehensible behavior to proliferate behind its doors. It's mind-boggling. Submitted a complaint to their district manger on March 28th. And still no response. Still awaiting for this to be looked at and some sort of accountability. Experience- I made a visit to the Fremont Ashley's location on March 27th. I visited the store with two of my friends with the intention of adding a couch to our already established list that we had created with Aileen at the Lathrop location. Unfortunately, during my time at the Fremont store, the store manager, Deavon, made several inappropriate comments directed at the tattoos on the women's bodies. These remarks made me extremely uncomfortable and ultimately pushed me to want to leave the store immediately. To make matters worse, Deavon pulled his associate, James, aside and began discussing canceling our existing cart and redoing it through their store--intentionally increasing the price. My fiancée overheard him say, "we're going to f*** them," which was not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful. When my Fiancé and I returned to the Lathrop location to move forward with our purchase, we discovered that our original cart had, in fact, been deleted. Aileen had to spend extra time rebuilding it from scratch. This entire experience was frustrating, disrespectful, and left us with a very sour impression--especially considering the way I was treated. No woman should ever feel uncomfortable walking into a store, let alone from someone in a leadership position. Despite this experience, we decided to move forward with our purchase at the Lathrop location solely because of Aileen's professionalism and genuine care. Both she and Derek went out of their way to smooth things over and ensure we were taken care of, and for that, we're very grateful. read more

I've heard very mixed things about Ashley Furniture so my experience is very different than most but I thought I'd share it anyway. A lot of the negative reviews refer to being followed in a store but most furniture stores actually do this- not to be creepy but to make a sale so its pretty common. The furniture selection is really great. They have lots of chairs and tables on clearance so if you get lucky, you can snag a good deal. I came in with the mindset of buying one thing and one thing only: the ultimate West Elm dupe.. the Isanti table. Its made of mango wood and it looks almost identical to the West Elm version. After seeing it in person, I was impressed by the quality. The table is thin yet not flimsy. The table itself feels very durable and the doesn't scratch easily. The service was fine for me. I wasn't greeted upon arrival however sales associates came up to us and offered us help throughout our time in the store. Eventually we were able to negotiate a discount not only on the shipping but overall percentage discount which was pretty nice. We ended up paying about $2k for a table set with 4 chairs, a bench, and 5 year warranty on all of those items as well as white glove delivery. The delivery was great. We had to adjust the date a few times because we didn't get the keys to the new house on the day anticipated. Customer service was easy to reach and were accommodating to our needs. The assembly portion of their delivery took less than 30 minutes so it was very efficient-especially since we have three flights of stairs to go through for our condo. We had a good shopping experience with Ashley so maybe you will too. read more

My wife and I had just moved to Newark and were out shopping for a new couch on a Friday evening 8/1/25 around 8 PM, just before dinner time. We entered the store, casually browsing, looking for the perfect piece to fit our new living room. After sitting down on a few couches, a tall salesman name "William" approached us. At first, he just stared at us in a way that felt off--almost with disdain. After a couple of minutes of this uncomfortable silence, he made a point to open the drawer on the armrest of the couch I was sitting on, seemingly to check something. Then, out of nowhere, he asked, "Hey, you guys look like restaurant people, and you don't seem like you're from around here. Are you just hanging around?" I admit, I was dressed casually in sweatpants, but to be treated this way was shocking. I've never experienced such blatant profiling in a shopping environment. How can an employee, whose job it is to serve customers, act with such prejudice and judgment? If the salesman didn't want to work there or didn't want to sell to us, that's one thing. But there's no reason to make a customer feel uncomfortable or unwelcome, especially with such a condescending attitude. I understand that not everyone may look like a typical shopper, but that doesn't mean they should be treated any less than anyone else. So, William, yes, I'm talking about you--the tallest guy in the store. There was no reason to speak to us like that or treat us as if we didn't belong. Came in with my mother in law and she actually found a sofa and loveseat she liked and i told the girl helping us that online the price was much lower and at a different Ashley store they had offered us $99 delivery but at the time they didn't have the color we wanted. She lowered the price but said to get the $99 delivery i HAD to get the five year warranty which was $99. She was not willing to remove the $99 five year plan and said if she did she was pretty much going to take the discounts off.. this was crazy to me why are they pushing the five year protection plan if we made it very clear from the start that we didn't want it... we left and will be taking our business elsewhere. Both my wife and I bought some furniture from Ashley last year. We decided to pay off the account in full. Synchrony Bank, who Ashley uses to finance, didn't allow us to pay our account balance with a credit card. ( they only allow checking and savings) So I called Ashley ahead of time from home since I live 45 minutes away, to see if they would allow me to pay my account with a credit card. I explained my situation to the person on the phone and she was sympathetic to my concern. She told me to go ahead and come to the store and that they would help me make a payment with my credit card. Once I got to the store a gentleman at the front desk asked me how he could help me. I explained to him what both the Ashley associate on the phone and I discussed and he told me that they don't accept credit card payments. I then explained my situation with Synchrony. The Ashley associate called Synchrony and handed me the phone! FOR WHAT! They told me the same dam thing. No credit card payments! I pled my case to the associate hoping to settle something. Instead I got lectured about how payments work! At that point I walked out leaving him talking to himself. I wasted my gas, time and patience. Never again will I step foot into that store. read more

We went in yesterday to look for idea for a future move. The moment that we got in the door a saleswoman was right in our faces. My wife explained that we were just looking at the moment, but appreciated the offer for assistance. This saleswoman proceeded to follow us around the store for the remainder of our time there. Whenever we sat on a chair, she jumped back in and kept trying to give us more information. We let her know the second time, we are not looking to buy today. She backed off, we thought, then turn around and staring right at us and following us around the store more. This scenario repeated itself 5 times during our walk around the store. I understand that it is your job to offer assistance, but that woman was more high pressure and obnoxious than a used car salesman from an SNL sketch. It was almost comical. When we left we vowed never to go back to that Ashley store...not ever. It was beyond unprofessional, we were very clear with this saleswoman, but she was over the top and even made my 11year old daughter feel uncomfortable. **Unacceptable Service from Ashley Furniture - Never Ordering Here Again!** I am beyond frustrated with Ashley Furniture's delivery service. On July 15th, we ordered new beds for our kids, and based on the delivery confirmation we received, my husband and I made the decision to get rid of their old beds and mattresses. We trusted Ashley to keep their word, but that trust has been completely shattered. Now, here we are in August, and what have we received? The first delivery included just the mattress, and the second delivery was only a single headboard for our daughter--nothing else arrived. The rest of her bedroom furniture was nowhere to be found. We were given a new delivery date for the rest of the items, and today was supposed to be the day--THIS MORNING, in fact. One of the delivery guys even called my husband to confirm our address and said they'd be arriving in 20 minutes. But, in a move that defies all logic, we got another call shortly after saying the delivery wouldn't happen because our items had been sent back to the warehouse in Lathrop due to an "address error." This came AFTER my husband had already confirmed our address with the delivery guy. How on earth does this happen? How do you confirm the address, give a specific delivery time, and then suddenly decide to return the items to the warehouse? Let me add, the drive from Union City to Lathrop is about 45 minutes to an hour--so what really happened here? Did they ever intend to deliver the furniture? We have been given nothing but the runaround for weeks now. Our kids have been without proper beds all this time, and the level of incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction is astonishing. If I could give zero stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and NEVER order from Ashley Furniture. Ashley Furniture, this is unacceptable. Even the manager was helpful in answering all our questions regarding delivery and warranty for the furniture. Pleasantly surprised by our visit I'll just staff for patient and helpful. I ordered a bedroom set and mattress, a couch and dining set. A week before my delivery date I was informed that my head board would be late. A couple days later I was informed my foot board would be late. When they called the day before I was told the bed frame would arrive late. I am not a 16 year old kid that wants to sleep on a mattress on the floor. Then when they arrived to deliver what was left they informed me my dining set was backordered. After they left I received a call telling me my dining set would arrive late. I had to take today for my furniture to be delivered. Now I have to take one day off for the rest of my bed and another for my dining set. I am currently sitting on hold for over 10 minutes while I write this as I am trying to get this resolved. I wish that I could leave negative stars. Today was the first and last time that my husband and I will go here. First off, we were not greeted at all. As we were walking around, a lady approached us. She wasn't wearing a name tag and she was carrying her purse and holding a plastic ziplock bag that had papers inside it. I thought she was just another customer like us. Boy, was I wrong. She was one of their salesperson. Very unprofessional. All that we wanted to do was look around and discuss our thoughts with each other, but she made it extremely uncomfortable, because she followed us throughout the store. She removed the bottom cushion of the couch next to us and stood on the bottom of it. She was telling us how well made the couch was. We got up and walked away. She continued to follow us. My advice would be to steer clear of this store, unless you like being followed (stalked) while you're trying to decide what you would like to buy. They lost us as customers. The salesperson said they couldn't deliver it until 12/26 conveniently right after the holidays but they just so happen to have a table that is $200 more in stock. Odd though that their own website says the table will deliver in 1-2 weeks. When mentioning this to the sales person he said let me go check something and went to the back but we just left. Felt like a total bait and switch and just a shady salesperson trying to make a few extra bucks on commission. We decided to go take a look at Ashley Store to see what furniture they had. We immediately fell in love with a kitchen table and then all new furniture for our living room. Janice the store associate was beyond helpful and answered every question we had. We wanted to do 2 separate deliveries and between Janice and the store manager Devin they were able to help us out. Both were very kind and knowledgeable on the products. Also we happened to shop during a sale and got an awesome price on everything. Our first delivery came and we are in love with our table as well as our recliner chairs. Our second delivery was our couches. We wanted to go back and make sure that we were truly in love with it before delivery. When we went we realized that it just was not what we wanted. Thankfully Janice was there happy to help us find something we loved. We found a couch and loveseat that we wanted and along with the help from the manager on duty Turaab they were able to make the changes and still able to keep the delivery date we wanted. I bought a dining set from Ashley furniture in Fremont. The table arrived with so many dents and defects in it. Couple of chairs arrived with so much stain and dirt on them. Contacted Ashley for a replacement. They sent a technician to check and he verified the bad quality and promised to send a replacement. I called today and that technician didn't even update the case and I have to wait for the case to be updated and for a replacement to be delivered.
