On 12/30/18, we ordered a dining set and living room furniture from Ashley (Gaithersburg MD, 534 N Frederick Ave). We were given a delivery estimate of 4-6 weeks. It's commonly understood that these delivery date estimates are provided but companies work to make delivery as soon as possible, in order to provide a pleasant customer experience. As of 2/10/19, we received no delivery. On 2/12/19, we called the store and voiced our disappointment. They then said they'd have everything delivered on 2/18/19. On 2/18/19, the delivery showed up, but was missing an item (side chair). The gentlemen that delivered called their dispatch center. The rep informed us that the side chair wasn't included in the invoice that the dispatch center received from the store. When my wife called the store to dispute this, the person that identified himself as the manager of that Gaithersburg store, Rashad, proceeded to tell my wife that she was being rude and that since we've waited so long already, it shouldn't be an issue to wait longer. The lack of professionalism by the company representatives is astounding. As of this writing, we still haven't received a call back to confirm when the remaining furniture will be delivered. read more

We ordered a couch, ottoman and toy chest. We have waited a while for the delivery, but it finally came today. I was told yesterday that I would get a call from the warehouse with the time for delivery. No call by 12:30pm yesterday so I called Ashley and was told the warehouse had until 5:30 to call me. At 5:15, I had still not heard so called back to Ashley furniture and a nice gentleman helped me and called the warehouse himself and shortly after we got a time window. Overall, we like our furniture and it looks nice. But we have one new couch upside down in the living room because the warehouse did not send the right legs! Now we have to wait with a couch on the side for 7 to 10 days and then figure out what to do with these legs or call for someone. Also on the couch there was a black mark. On the new couch just delivered. And on the white toy bench it came with a nick/scratch/scrape. Ugh. Not sure on the quality at this place. When we went to the kids section, most of their furniture in there was scratched up. I just thought it was from being on the floor, but my brand new piece came with a scratch on it. read more

My daughter and I had a great experience working with Marty, Kayla and Mayuni while we purchased a new bedroom suite along with a kitchen table and chairs. Marty took the time to help us decide between three bedroom sets and two kitchen sets and Kayla and Mayuni helped make sure we were getting what we expected and processed the paperwork quickly and efficiently. I went to the store in Frederick Nov.15 after finding a chair advertised on their website that I wanted to try before I purchased. The "Klorey Chair" was priced $219.99. The salesman said the price (after he was generously taking 40% off the priced marked in the store) would be $253.00 (!). I showed him the store ad. He said, no, the price is what he said. Is this the way to run a store ? He then wanted to know if I wanted "to order today". This is no way to run a business. Having bought a Revolution Saddle Double Reclining Loveseat w/Console and Power, we recently noticed that the seams are coming apart. This is only 'normal' wear and tear not young kids abusing it. AND not even a year old. We just got off the phone with Ashley Customer Service and even with emailing them pics of the damaged loveseat, they called and stated it was NOT COVERED, even when we had purchased the 5-yr Warranty!! My husband and I recently popped into Ashley about an hour before they closed. We literally just started shopping for a new sofa and wanted to get ideas. Carlos greeted us warmly, told us about the current sale, and explained how the store was laid out (by style, not type. This REALLY helped us get our bearings). Carols was GREAT. He interacted with us in just the right amount. Not hovering or making us feel intruded upon. When we were ready to ask questions, he answered all of them clearly. While we came in just to browse, we left with the perfect coffee table we'd been talking about for a while. So happy to be able to get our new table 5 days later! read more

I made my first visit to Ashley's and also my last . My wife and I went in to purchase a new mattress and the sales agent was very helpful . We found a mattress that we liked and it was priced as a queen @ 2199.00. We asked for the price as a king and the agent left and returned in minutes with a price of $ 2599.00. We agreed and purchased it with a 3 yr. zero interest which was offered by the agent . The agent returned after about 5 minutes and stated that he gave us the wrong price and it should have been $ 3199.00, but it was on sales for $ 2899.00, but he would honor the price he quoted ( $ 2599.00 ) . He left to fill out the paperwork and came back and said he could NOT honor the 3 yr @ zero interest , but would do 18 months . Again I agreed and he left to fill out the paperwork. After about 10 minutes he came back and said he could NOT honor the price , but could do $ 2899.00. I told him to forget the deal and we were leaving. He followed us out to the car and wanted to show me his cost, but I said I was not interested . I ordered furniture on 7/31 and was guaranteed delivery within 8 weeks. I understood with Covid that I was going to have to wait up to 8 weeks. Was just told my furniture will not arrive to the warehouse till November. I never received a single call from Ashley Furniture to tell me about the delay. I have had to call and each time the extend my delivery date. Never apologize for it, just say nothing they can do. Do yourself a favor and never buy anything from the Frederick location. Store manager TJ is a joke and lies over and over. Offered no solution to make things right. read more

I would give 0 stars if permitted. I ordered a TV stand, sectional sofa (with electric recline), a table, and chairs from the Frederick store on 1/29/17. I did not receive my furniture until 3/16, and had to take off work to do so. They refuse to give you a delivery window until the day before the scheduled appointment. My furniture arrived, and I used it (lightly, as I work during the day then attend grad school in the evenings) on 3/16, 3/21, and 3/22. I went out of town for President's Day weekend. On the evening of 3/22, my couch became stuck in the reclined position. I called on 3/23 to schedule a service appointment, and was told I had to wait for their repair service to call me. I was scheduled for an appointment on 3/29. The repair technician told me he would need to order parts and then reschedule to fix the couch. On 4/22, I received a call asking if I had received my parts. I had not. My previous landlord called and said there was a box at my old address. Ashley Furniture sent the parts to the WRONG ADDRESS. I went over and got them, and was scheduled for an appointment today 4/27/17. When the repair tech arrived, he discovered that he had been sent the wrong parts, and still cannot fix my BRAND NEW couch. It has now been THREE MONTHS since I purchased this furniture, I've missed three days of work for it, and my couch still does not work. I have called corporate, and am waiting for them to call me back. If you're considering buying from the Ashley Furniture store in Frederick, MD, don't. Go to the Wolf's Furniture or literally anywhere else. I certainly wish I had. read more

We bought our couch before Thanksgiving last year. We had been looking for a couch for more than a year. The design or the price wouldn't work. We needed something for Thanksgiving as we had guests coming over. If it weren't for Logan, our sales associate we wouldn't have found our couch. He perfectly understood and matched our choice with an available couch in their store within minutes. Went into Ashley home store because we saw they were having a big sale. Went into to look for a bar console and a tv stand with fireplace. When we 1st walked in Maria T. Greated us and explained the sale to us. She she not pushy and let us walk the store. When we found a couple items we liked she got us pricing. We decided to go ahead with our purchase. Anit was also very kind during the finance process and final papers send off. Ended up with a bar console, a bedroom set and a beautiful butterfly picture. Still waiting on the furniture but cant wait. Giving then 4 stars just in the employees.Will update after the furniture arrives and all out together.All super kind and friendly. Very disappointed. Ordered a big sectional..it was partially broken and we had to wait for a replacement which was fine. But two of the three pillows were not delivered. They are not actually listed on the invoice and we did not notice till we were back in the store shopping for more furniture. When we brought it to their attention, they basically so "oh well" and would not provide the additional two pillows. So for the cost of 2 $10 pillows, they have lost a customer. read more

She was very kind, professional and passionate about her work! I went to the store in Gaithersburg first; but, none of the sales seemed to sell any of their products. So, I made a trip to Frederick, which was very wise decision so that I met Jule. She had brought a couch from the stock room in order to show me how it looks like in real and she arranged all delivery service and explained me warranty and other options that I can choose. Current status: Furniture Ordered, Awaiting Furniture Delivery Furniture selection was quick, easy, and pleasurable. My wife and I walked into the store with the intention to purchase a recliner; however, we walked out with an order that totaled approximately $4,000. We went to Wolf Furniture and Fitzgerald furniture prior to walking into the Ashley Furniture HomeStore, so our experience was extremely pleasant in comparison. Marti was an excellent sales associate and showed us exactly what we were looking for in a timely fashion. He allowed us to browse the store unbothered, while keeping track of any furniture we were considering to purchase. He shuttled us through the purchase process quickly, with a relatively quick door-to-door time of approximately 40 minutes (given that the store was scheduled to close 15 minutes after we initially arrived). We have nothing but praise for Marti, as he made the process extremely efficient and pleasant. In regard to purchasing, be sure to READ THE BACK OF THE INVOICE THAT YOU RECEIVE. Also, the invoice will not have the specific name of the furniture you bought on it, so it's good practice to either write down or take a picture of the furniture tag so that you can monitor any price changes online or in the store. WITHIN 3 DAYS OF YOUR PURCHASE, YOU CAN WALK INTO THE STORE AND REQUEST ANY FURNITURE BE REMOVED FROM YOUR BILL WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES. Furthermore, IF THE PRICE OF THE FURNITURE GOES DOWN WITHIN 14 DAYS OF YOUR PURCHASE, YOU CAN WALK INTO THE STORE AND REQUEST THAT YOU BE REFUNDED THE DIFFERENCE. This was extremely useful, as we were able to go back the day after our purchase and remove one item that we ended up not wanting ($600 value), and received a price match on the sofa, loveseat, and recliner that we purchased after finding the items on their website for much less (saving approx. $500). Carrick was an extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful customer service representative, who was able to update our final invoice after our price match and item removal without hesitation. He had a comprehensive understanding of the sales process and was able to relate his knowledge well upon our inquisitions. I began this review with the intention to give 5 stars, but upon seeing other customers' reviews about the delivery process, it would be foolhardy of me to rush to a definitive rating at this point. read more

Well now that the dust has settled on my situation and it has been resolved, after 4.5 months, I can now leave a review without dropping any 'bombs'. We purchased a king size simmons black series mattress and an adjustable bed base. The manager talked us into the Ashley brand with the head and foot adjusters as well as massage and a light underneath. Great value I thought. The first night we slept. The second night and every consecutive night the adjustable frame got worse and worse. After two weeks they sent someone out to look at it and we were told we would get a new adjustable bed frame. Then after two months they "lost" the paperwork and had to send someone out...again. Who also told us we would get a new bed frame. Mind you, during this whole time, we are not sleeping. The slightest movement sounds like the bed is going to fall. Every call to the store resulted in more promises with no success. The manager was always on vacation. When I asked for the Corporate number I was given the warehouse. And the story just drags on... If they had to sleep on that bed...well truth is they wouldn't have. Finally after 4.2 months I was promised an upgraded adjustable bed. Well guess what folks...they brought the same one. Why would I want anything made by Ashley when I have had such a bad experience. I turned it away. Again several calls to the manager, corporate and the so called office manager (who actually hung up on me because I wouldn't accept her excuse) went unheeded. Well alas...4.5 months later we have a new bed and can now sleep. Overall, I will ever do business with them again. If I could I would take every piece of furniture I have bought (even the stuff I like) and drop it at their front door. Ashley Furniture will never have our business again. :( read more

I purchased a bench (along with 2 other pieces) from Ashley in November. We did pick up in-store ($20 charge). When picking it up in store the order wasn't ready to go. They had to get the items and one item was a floor item, still on the floor. The warehouse told us we could get it off the floor and where to find boxes for it. This customer service is absolutely ridiculous. We got the $20 pick-up fee back after complaining since there was nothing done by them ahead of time to prepare for pick-up. They also expected inspection of every item that was purchased right then and there. This is absolutely ridiculous since the items (non-floor items) aren't even assembled when you pick them up; they are boxed and heavily packaged in the original packaging that they were shipped to the store in. You need box cutters/scissors and floor space to even get to the pieces of the items to inspect. And then they expect you to wrap it back up to bring home again? After moving into our new home and setting up the bench last month, we noticed the seat part of the bench wasn't assembled correctly; the box of the seat doesn't fit together properly, you can see the staple that "attaches" the back to the side of the bench box. I am very disappointed by this as you pay good money for nice things but they aren't even assembled properly. The lady I spoke to on the phone this morning wasn't very kind in delivering the response that there is nothing she can do to get the item fixed or replaced. She simply offered to file a complaint. The two other pieces of furniture we purchased are terrific. Unfortunately, the bench and AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE I have received in store/warehouse and via phone has gave me a terrible impression of Ashley overall. I will not shop there and would not recommend it to anyone. Wolf's in Frederick I highly recommend! Customer service there is exceptional on every level and they are willing to help with any repairs for the first year. read more

I wish I could give them a 0. Run, don't walk AWAY from this store!! The saleswoman incorrectly ordered my very expensive couch and although the store drawing and store model on the floor matched what was SUPPOSED to be ordered, they provided zero compensation for delivering an incomplete product after 4 months of waiting for it. They also never notified me when my couch was ready. I had to pay several hundred additional dollars and wait again in order for my couch to even be useable (including a another shipping fee), I was passed around to more than a handful of different employees and got different answers each time on what would be done to remedy the situation. The end result? Them doing absolutely nothing. Not only were they unhelpful, but I got an attitude from the person who had to order my missing piece as if I was the one inconveniencing them. I purchased a sofa from them almost a month ago and I still have not received, even after being told - at time of purchase - that the sofa was NOT a special order. They were able to fulfill my request to pick up my couch same day, I knew that schools would be closed for a while due covid-19 so I needed a couch asap to complete our home theater. I called the Hagerstown MD store first and they were not interested in helping when I asked if I could just pay for it and pick up at the depot, so no problem I will call someone else. I called the Frederick store and they put the paperwork together and set the order for delivery that day, I picked it up, saved the delivery fee, and watched a movie that night on it. my wife and i purchased over 5000.00 dollars in furniture back in late January. since furniture was delivered they had to replace the sectional sofa and king bed frame. Then we had Covid 19 hit the country and still couch is not correct. springs are exposed cannot even sit on 1 side of sectional. they said once people were back to work that someone would contact us. this has not happened. i feel all employees @ Ashley do not care about their customers but rather just their pay. I usually don't have problems with stuff like this, but I did not have a good experience when I bought a couch here. The salesperson misrepresented some things like full grain vs top grain leather. I was told 5 times it was full grain while I was buying it, but later when I went back after delivery to question it because once I really looked it over, it looked different and cheaper than what I remembered the store version looking like, I found out it was just top grain leather. When I wanted to return the couch based on damage and misrepresentation, it was going to actually cost me $500 out of pocket to do that and the rest would be refunded as store credit. That didn't work for me personally as I really wanted a full grain leather couch which they don't carry at all in their store. I didn't get anywhere with the workers or management except some comments about how my particular salesperson makes a lot of mistakes, debate about which leather quality is best, blame put on me, and questions like "why did you accept the delivery?" The couch was damaged in 4 places when it was delivered. The couch wasn't put together right so the internal frame was exposed on both sides - the delivery guys noticed right away, called in to Ashley and said that repair unit would come out and fix. I was ok with that. Then I found two other things damaged later on my own - a seat cushion was cut down the middle by a box cutter and one of the feet was cracked through. I reported both of those within my 72 hour timeframe. Working with their repairs unit is not easy. They are friendly and quick to get information from you, but not quick to follow up after that. I'm still waiting over two weeks later for my phone call back after already checking in once about the fact I haven't received a call back yet. It was easy buying the couch though, I was in and out of the store fast. My advice is make sure you really research what you're buying, make sure that the salesmen know what they are talking about and read every part of the contract before signing anything because once you buy, the sale is pretty much final unless you are willing to lose about 1/3 or more of the cost. I've bought furniture before from other places like value city and never had any issues. I should've stuck with them. I ended up keeping the couch instead of losing out $500 and having store credit, and I'm sitting on it right now as I write this review so it is serving it's purpose, but I'm still pretty annoyed every time I look at it. Updated review - changed to 2 stars 8/10/15. Ashley took a while to call me back, but when they did they told me they would be replacing my couch with a new one. It was delivered today and there is no damage that I can see so far. I'm still upset about the full vs top grain leather issue, but whatever. read more

THIS IS A SHADY COMPANY AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM THEM. I would like to give them a 0 star rating but that doesn't seem to be possible. It all started when I went into the store to look at bedroom sets. They have an absurd price up posted and once you talk to a salesperson, that price gets cut in half instantly. Then, when you tell them you need to look elsewhere, it instantly comes down another $1000. We still went elsewhere but ended up coming back after not finding anything else that we liked. We looked online on the way back and found the same set for $1600 less than what they had offered us last time, now they were negotiating again and knocked it down another $1000. Basically, if we hadn't gone through the old school haggling motions of used car sales days, we would have paid double what we paid. I don't like doing business like that. Now it gets even better. The furniture was delivered to me in February, they knocked a picture frame off the wall, damaged my house, and a post on the bed was broken. These things can be forgiven, however, it is now almost JULY and I still do not have the replacement part and my home damage claim has not been settled. The people in the "customer service" department and I use those words loosely, have called me back once to the 50 times that I have had to call them. If I didn't continue to reach out, they would just as well have left me alone with my damaged house and broken furniture. And it gets even better, according to everyone that works there, the home damage claims adjustor has no manager, no one has any manager, and if you wanted to complain, they will give you an address to HANDWRITE a letter and mail it to the board of directors. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Everyone has a manager, and under a board of directors is the most senior manager (a CEO or President). There is no way that Dana the home damage adjustor is being directly managed by a board of directors. read more
