The worst customer service, first time customer with Ashley. I placed an online order for 4 items. Called multiple times thru out the process of my order. Asked someone of the associates to note the account on Aug1st,2025. Which she did How never told me I wouldn't be granted this date. That it would be weeks of another week out. So I move forward to ask if I could pick up and they refund the 179.00 fee. Yes you can pick up let me ask the department. Ask and they stated No. I'm so not pleased with this service that I'm ready to cancel it and spend my money somewhere else. read more

Let me be clear--the staff at the actual showroom store were absolutely stellar--professional, courteous, helpful. They went out of their way to make the selection and purchase process easy, and were nothing less than stellar. Their in-store staff are the very best!!!!! I want to be very clear about that. Unfortunately, I will not purchase anything from Ashley HomeStores again, and technically still haven't. (Note: I originally posted this on Ashley HomeStore Facebook page, but evidently they do not want negative posts to appear on their site, so I'll go one step further and post it publicly.) I have learned a lot about Ashley HomeStore lately, by experience. I purchased a coffee table now almost 8 weeks ago. It was understood that furniture production was behind and I waited patiently, and we scheduled for delivery on Saturday, October 16. The deliverers arrived in the time window, but with a damaged piece of furniture. They tried to convince me to accept delivery and put in a "repair" ticket to "touch up some paint." Actually, the coffee table had been dented and whatever dented the table had left some paint there as well. They called their delivery supervisor, who also tried to convince me to accept the damaged piece of furniture, which I refused. He then informed me that it would probably be another six weeks until I received a replacement. I called customer service and was told a manager would call me on Monday, and I gave them specific instructions about when I was available as I teach three courses on Mondays. Of course, someone from delivery services (not a manager) called during one of my classes. I returned the call later, and they said, "Good news--we have the replacement and can deliver it this week." We scheduled the delivery for today, Saturday October 23. During the week, I received a text confirming delivery and responded. I was sent a link and a time frame for delivery: 6 - 9 AM and I was Stop # 1. So, yes, on my day off, I woke up at 5:30 AM to be prepared to accept the delivery so early. At 9:30 AM, I called, and was told that the deliveries had not started yet, for some reason, and I would receive a call to update. I received a phone call at 9:50 that the delivery team had just arrived at the loading dock, and would be here around 10:30 AM. They arrived, knocked on my door, and said they would bring up the table. I went down to the truck and told them that I wanted to inspect it first. Guess what? Yep, it was damaged; similarly, with two dents on the top of the table. Again, they tried to convince me to accept delivery and I refused. They called their supervisor, who also tried to convince me to accept delivery. According to them, the warranty I purchased meant that they would repair the damage sometime "soon" if we put in a ticket. My reasoning is that if the company cannot manage to deliver a brand-new piece of furniture undamaged, then why should I trust them to repair it correctly or in a timely manner? Ashley HomeStore makes a big deal, marketing their customer service experience of buying furniture. Having experienced their brand of customer service, I am no longer inclined to purchase furniture from Ashley HomeStore. Oh, and by the way, of course they did not offer any compensation or discount for the inconvenience or trouble they have caused, nor for attempting multiple times to convince me to accept a damaged piece of furniture. I will not reward such poor customer treatment ever again! When I called customer service after this delivery attempt, and spoke to a supervisor from the corporate office, she started to say, "when we make the delivery the next time..." I stopped her and informed her that there would NOT be a next time. Who wants to buy furniture from this company? NOT ME ever again! This store could not be in a better location! Conveniently located between the Old Navy and Best Buy at the Renaissance shopping center. Looks like I know where I'll be going for my new home I'm building. The prices were so much lower than I expected and the quality seems to be much better than some of their competition around the area. They also have a full lineup of Tempur-Pedic mattresses. I got fitted for one while I was there and can't wait to go back and get it. They have 60 months special financing so it's a no-brainer not to take advantage of it! I purchased a lift recliner chair from the Fayetteville Road Durham in Feb 2022. I also purchased a 5 year extended warranty covering all repairs/parts/labor for $200. In June 2023, the remote on the chair broke. The warranty company sent a rep out to look at the chair. The remote was broken. He ordered a new part. He said it would arrive in 2-6 weeks. After 6 weeks, nothing. I called the warranty company today and the part could take 16 weeks. So the warranty is worthless. I can't use the chair. I'm recovering from hip surgery. Do not buy from this store. The warranty isn't actionable. read more

I was in need of apartment furniture. I made the best decision to go to Ashley HomeStore, on Fayetteville Rd, in Durham. The Sales Manager Anthony DeVita and Sales Associate Dejah Smith, are the best. I was able to get everything I needed plus some. They both were patient and helpful listening to everything I was requesting. I appreciate them both. I no longer have to sleep in my recliner chair :). If you are looking for home furnishing go no further; this is the place they will treat you well and make you feel at home. Thank you both! read more

If I could leave a review for negative stars, that's exactly what I would leave. My entire experience with this business has been horrible. I placed an order in store to furnish a new place and was advised I could receive delivery within a certain time period. The sales associate neglected to advise the 8-12 week delay on orders. The first items I had delivered ran late but arrived on the estimated day. The last item to be delivered was originally scheduled for 3:30-6:30 pm. I got a call advising the delivery team was running late and the new time was 5-8. I then got another call stating that the delivery would be after 9. The customer rep tried to explain that the delivery got started late and that if I didn't accept I could call to reschedule on Monday. She was rude and dismissive when I tried to express frustration and decided to over talk me and explain that there was nothing else she could do. If you can at all cost, just avoid this company completely. It's not worth the hassle. Update: I was called again after 7pm on Saturday and told the delivery team would not be delivering my furniture. I have not heard from anyone to reschedule it. read more

Bait and switch. I understand the pressure to make a sale, but I was told, with all confidence, that my delivery would be made in 2 weeks. And 2 months later, no delivery and no recent voluntary updates on the status of it. 1 star goes to the wonderful customer call center representatives whose kindness helped me with the cancellation process. read more

Please dont buy it from this store Specially if your sales manager is Cub Thompson. He was rude and would disconnect the call . He would say something and will deny any of whatever he promised. I would recommend if you have any offers from them, make sure you have them in writing and ask them to print them for you. DO NOT TAKE THEIR WORD FOR IT. Negative stars!!! My experience in the store was fantastic! I placed an order in-store to furnish a new place and was advised I could receive delivery within a certain period before my payments start! I would never refer anyone to purchase furniture from this store location. I've been waiting 3 months for my couch, called customer service, and was told false information on updates regarding my couch, since March and now it's the middle of June. The Finance department does not return calls or reach back out to further give you a notice on your couch delivery date, Not professional at all! read more

She not only knows their merchandise in the store but was able to help me find an alternative when they be item was not going to ship soon. Liars. Liars. Liars. Worst furniture store ever! When you are in their showroom - Southpoint - and ask about the delivery dates of furniture, of course they're going to tell you "Because of Covid, 6-10 weeks" because they know they won't make a sale if they told you the truth. Delivery will never be under 3 months. At the 11 week mark I went to the store because no one communicates with the customer about delivery updates. I expressed my unhappiness about the lack of communication and the completely inaccurate delivery schedule. I expressed my consideration of canceling the order if I hadn't received the order within the next two weeks. Coincidentally enough, three days after that visit I received an automated text to confirm the day I would be available for delivery to my home. I chose the date for delivery and received a response that I would be notified 2 days prior to delivery. Of course I never received that 2 day advance confirmation text or email. I called the store on the day I was supposed to receive my order. I was told my furniture hadn't come in yet. So clearly, the original text message was just to delay my cancelation and convince me to wait longer. It's been 15 weeks now. I am canceling and I will never step foot in an Ashley store or buy anything with an Ashley name ever again. This company is shady and a bunch of liars. read more

Actually, I am chagrined to report that this problem seems to have pertained more to some misunderstandings with my credit card than with this company. I am changing my review, as the company has actually been recently very responsive. Although I was upset at how things had occurred and the time I had to put into this, I believe at this point that this was basically due to primarily to an unfortunate co-occurrence of factors.
