    Let me be clear--the staff at the actual showroom store were absolutely stellar--professional, courteous, helpful. They went out of their way to make the selection and purchase process easy, and were nothing less than stellar. Their in-store staff are the very best!!!!! I want to be very clear about that. Unfortunately, I will not purchase anything from Ashley HomeStores again, and technically still haven't. (Note: I originally posted this on Ashley HomeStore Facebook page, but evidently they do not want negative posts to appear on their site, so I'll go one step further and post it publicly.) I have learned a lot about Ashley HomeStore lately, by experience. I purchased a coffee table now almost 8 weeks ago. It was understood that furniture production was behind and I waited patiently, and we scheduled for delivery on Saturday, October 16. The deliverers arrived in the time window, but with a damaged piece of furniture. They tried to convince me to accept delivery and put in a "repair" ticket to "touch up some paint." Actually, the coffee table had been dented and whatever dented the table had left some paint there as well. They called their delivery supervisor, who also tried to convince me to accept the damaged piece of furniture, which I refused. He then informed me that it would probably be another six weeks until I received a replacement. I called customer service and was told a manager would call me on Monday, and I gave them specific instructions about when I was available as I teach three courses on Mondays. Of course, someone from delivery services (not a manager) called during one of my classes. I returned the call later, and they said, "Good news--we have the replacement and can deliver it this week." We scheduled the delivery for today, Saturday October 23. During the week, I received a text confirming delivery and responded. I was sent a link and a time frame for delivery: 6 - 9 AM and I was Stop # 1. So, yes, on my day off, I woke up at 5:30 AM to be prepared to accept the delivery so early. At 9:30 AM, I called, and was told that the deliveries had not started yet, for some reason, and I would receive a call to update. I received a phone call at 9:50 that the delivery team had just arrived at the loading dock, and would be here around 10:30 AM. They arrived, knocked on my door, and said they would bring up the table. I went down to the truck and told them that I wanted to inspect it first. Guess what? Yep, it was damaged; similarly, with two dents on the top of the table. Again, they tried to convince me to accept delivery and I refused. They called their supervisor, who also tried to convince me to accept delivery. According to them, the warranty I purchased meant that they would repair the damage sometime "soon" if we put in a ticket. My reasoning is that if the company cannot manage to deliver a brand-new piece of furniture undamaged, then why should I trust them to repair it correctly or in a timely manner? Ashley HomeStore makes a big deal, marketing their customer service experience of buying furniture. Having experienced their brand of customer service, I am no longer inclined to purchase furniture from Ashley HomeStore. Oh, and by the way, of course they did not offer any compensation or discount for the inconvenience or trouble they have caused, nor for attempting multiple times to convince me to accept a damaged piece of furniture. I will not reward such poor customer treatment ever again! When I called customer service after this delivery attempt, and spoke to a supervisor from the corporate office, she started to say, "when we make the delivery the next time..." I stopped her and informed her that there would NOT be a next time. Who wants to buy furniture from this company? NOT ME ever again! Which is a shame, because the staff at this store is outstanding!!

After we decided on which loveseat to purchase, I used the website to order it, and it arrived about two weeks later in perfect condition. The men who delivered the loveseat did a great job setting everything up, other than leaving a little bit of trash on our driveway :) Overall, not sure if we'll be getting any more furniture in the near future, but I'd definitely consider ordering from Capital Discount!

There's a huge selection of Oriental/Turkish/Persian rugs in all colors and sizes in the back. It's art for your floor and just as hard to pick only one to take home. But getting to the back of the store to see those amazing rugs is only one piece of the adventure Nomadic Trading offers. You first have to walk through a collection of Oriental, Indian, Turkish art history of assorted items. All of them, the furniture, water jars, lamps, beads, etc. are striking -- simple, yet complex at the same time. The natural materials are a refreshing change from modern-day chemical-based creations. When you get to the back of the store, you'll see rugs in colors and patterns unlike any others. The blues and reds attracted my attention, but each of them is intriguing in its own way. The patterns and colors all had a story to tell. It's folk-art. If you're truly fortunate, you'll be able to listen to the owner play his drums - I think they're Dybbuk (I forgot to ask) -- to add to the ambience.

He even suggested a left-side chaise which would fit better in my apartment. Once I decided on a couch, I feared I would have to wait weeks for delivery, but Ronnie said they would have it to me by Saturday (I bought it on a Thursday). The delivery guys were early and they called before they arrived, set up the couch in about 5 minutes and took all the trash with them.
