My daughter and I were just discussing how we should go and look at some mattresses. So we stopped by this particular Ashley's. I'm glad we did. EJ greeted us warmly and professionally. After showing him what we were potentially looking for, he knew exactly what and where to go. We tested out similar mattresses (the one we wanted was not in stock). But then, someone else walked up and said: it up and ready. We tested out the latest mattress for him. It was a truly amazing experience. Furthermore, EJ answered every single question that we had and took time to explain everything. We ended up chatting and laughing like old friends. He was very genuine and knowledgeable. The prices and quality of each mattress that we tested out and inquired about was excellent. But then came a sweet sale for the particular mattress we decided to purchase. Omg! Let's start with the positive: the furniture was delivered in showroom condition. I have been a loyal Ashley Furniture customer for 30 years. This was my first experience with the College Station store, and the last. Holly - the sales person I regrettably dealt with told me "the mattress pad is included with the mattress but is not in stock." When I went to pick up this "included" mattress pad, I find out it was not included. It was a $200 mattress pad that was of less quality than a $40 mattress pad found at the local Walmart. When we totaled up the order, it was about $1000 high. So when I asked for an explanation, Holly said it was the "standard warranty that is included." I told her I did not want an extended warranty, she argued it was standard and I had to accept it. I told her this was not my first rodeo and it is not standard. She pushed back two more times before finally deleting the extended warranty from the order. Holly provided me her cell phone number, yet was not responsive. The only reason I gave two stars is because the delivery was nearly flawless. Other than that, I give Holly a zero - and I give her manager a zero for tolerating shady sales behavior. And it is not the $1000 that pisses me off - it is the $200 mattress pad that she insisted came with the mattress we purchased. read more

I went in to specifically look at sleeper sofas. They have sofas that have the option to buy in sleeper sofas but no sleeper sofas on the floor. I looked at the options and came across the altari. The floor salesman told me that the sofa was on sale for Memorial Day and that is would be $943 plus tax with the discount. Well that was weird because on the website it is listed as the sleeper sofa as $943. I pointed that out to the guy and he then said oh yeah we will match our listed price online. Well sir, I would really hope so. At that point, I was decided that I was not going to purchase anything from this store because I already felt like you were trying to take me for a run for my money. When my husband and I tried to leave, the salesman tried to convince us to purchase the sofa. I explained that I had family coming in 2 weeks and 2 out of the 3 sleeper sofas are not in stock and wouldn't be in stock and then the altari was the only option. I explained that I would sleep on the decision. He then tried to get me to buy by explaining that that sofa might also not be in stock tomorrow if I waited. Again, I understand that is how stores work and if that happens it happens but he had already tried to swindle me (in my opinion) with the price so I would not be purchasing with him or from this store. read more

We have been sleeping on the floor going on two weeks now because the delivery date for the rails keeps getting pushed back and there has been no kind of compensation. Guest relation are ridiculous they will hang up on you and sound like they are not fitted in their job. They are now Partnered with Synchrony and they charge you late fees without them sending you your statement and your card. The store customer service and manager can not do anything they will just go around and round talking BS over and over. At the end they won't help you. They can't help you. After months of shopping I purchased the Alesandra Sofa from Ashley. I waited several months for delivery which arrived in November 2021. I LOVED the couch until January 2023 when it was suddenly sinking. The decking (base for the cushion) has almost completely torn and will no longer support the couch. After extensive contact with customer service I have been informed the warrantee was only for 12 months (I missed it by 6 weeks) and they will not offer any assistance. The decking is clearly defective and I have photos to demonstrate this. Ashley claims the couch was abused in some way for this type of tear to occur. The couch is in pristine condition aside from the decking and was only used by four adults in home. So very unhappy with the outcome. Apparently Ashley furniture has a 13 month lifespan so buyer beware! read more

Great customer service until delivery. If you are unhappy with your purchase after it is delivered, you are out of luck. They have no customer satisfaction guarantee, except for mattresses. I bought a couch that felt good in the store but after it arrived is very uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. I've had it for 3 days and my back has hurt every day since I received it. Went in during their remodel sale. The lady who helped me was new which was fine BUT she told us that the dining room table would be assembled when it came in. I am not moving until August but the sale was amazing so we purchased the table! When the table came in they called to let us know. I asked them how long could I have it in their warehouse and they don't me "not that long, that if it was going to be in the warehouse for 3 months that they would sell it to a person who needed it immediately and would re-order mine when I needed it" the lady who told me that wasn't sure that was correct either.I told them I would search for a storage units to fit the ASSEMBLED TABLE, chairs and bench. Upon picking up my assembled table, I noticed it was in a box!!! Now I understand if a table was assembled and taking up space in their warehouse that keeping it in there would be a problem but in a box!!!! On a shelf!! With all the other boxes on a self and they couldn't store it for me is ridiculous! Like I said, we were told it would be assembled upon picking it up. They tell us on the phone that it only comes assembled if it's a delivery. That's not what the lady told me when purchasing. She also said all you have to do it screw it in. So! It's not the point! They need to get their information straight before telling a buyer false information. There is nothing that they will do to make a customer happy and night I add we paid cash not finance this table. Six months ago, we ordered a bed and two nightstands. The process to order them was seamless, from the website to the app to the phoNe call with a sales person. However, we drove an hour each way to pick up the furniture when it came in -- to avoid a pricey delivery fee -- and the trouble began as soon as we started setting up. The bed came missing the slats under the mattress, so we had to fashion our own with the additional purchase of lumber. The construction of the bed is cheap; "flimsy" is the word I'd use. It's also slightly too large, so that our king size mattress sits about 2 inches inside the edge of the frame on either side. The nightstands were unnecessarily difficult to put together, and the drawers of one seemed not to fit at all. After many, many tries, we finally were able to get them to sit precariously on the slide arms. read more

A few months after a great experience of buying my furniture at this store, I had a terrible customer service by Cindy (a receptionist who answers the phone). It was so bad that I had to post my complaints. Just a few days later, the general manager (Scott) reached out to me and apologized.. He listened to my case and offered to help. Some of the items I ordered in April was not going to be ready until September and I really needed them by August. So he said that he will try to find alternate furniture in their inventory. After about 30 min later, he found two desks (sent me the picture and they looked nice) and included to be shipped with other furniture. When they arrived, they looked better than the ones I ordered originally.. On the delivery day, while the guys were assembling the bed, they realized that there were some errors made at the factory and they could not finish assembling them. So the delivery guys left them without getting them completed. I called Scott and explained the situation, he sent a technician out on Saturday!! The technician came within an hour and fixed the problem. I was very impressed.. Because of Scott, my review is changing from 1 star to 5 star.. I will definitely buy more furniture from them.. Haven't even received my merchandise yet, and can't even get through to anyone at the store. Every time I have called, I cannot even get a word out of my mouth before being put on hold. Seriously considering canceling my purchase and getting my money back Well, I've had my furniture for a little over a month now. I was told that I would receive a bill in the mail within the first 30 days after delivery. I waited until close to the allotted time and called the store to see what the problem was. They told me that my bill would not arrive until the thirty days were up, so I waited until I was sure the thirty days were up and went to the store (see first paragraph for reasons). They called the finance company for me since I didn't even get a phone number. I was then informed that I was already late on my first bill (which I NEVER RECEIVED), and I had to pay the last months bill AND a $27.00 late fee. Needless to say my wife and I were furious. They said they would credit the late fee to my account, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Chances are we will NOT be buying from this company again. read more

Don't get me wrong it's a nice store and nice folks working there but I'm going on 3 months now waiting on the correct couch. I went there back in January and ordered a sectional and a bedroom set. Got bits and pieces over 2 months for the bedroom set. Finally after 2 months I got the sofa. It was the wrong one. Went up to the store told them and they "accidentally " ordered it facing the wrong way. Ok not too big of a deal. Re ordered the couch. A month later i finally get half of the correct side. I called and asked about the other half that didnt get delivered and they said it was back ordered. But as they were checking the order it was apparently ordered wrong again. And was going to have to left side pieces. So after raising a fuss they re ordered once again and of course it is on back order. I spent well over 4k there and I'm over 3 months in and only half a couch. Talked to managers to see if we could get it figured or refunded or some kind of store credit and all they have to tell me is all we can do is say sorry. REALLY??? SORRY? That's it. This was definitely a huge headache so I will for sure not be spending anymore money at that store. And if anyone is ordering from them double check your handlers paperwork and make sure they order the correct items. Or you'll be in the same boat. read more

Visited this store to buy a sofa I saw online when I first moved to the BCS area. As soon as I walked in I was helped by Hunter. He was awesome and made the process very easy and quick. I knew what I wanted and he didn't make me feel pressured to buy anything extra. I was in and out the store in about 45 mins which was great since I had more shopping to do for my new apartment. The delivery also was quick and easy they said it would be deliver about a week later between 8am-noon and by 8:30am they were calling to tell me they would be here in about 15 mins. The delivery guys were here and gone in less than 5 mins. Great customer service all the way around! read more

Me and my husband recently purchased a mattress (from Mattress SleepCenters). But we did shop everywhere in the process. Ashley's was very clean, nice, and friendly. But after walking into the store and showing myself a couple beds an older gentleman comes up and starts leading me to more expensive mattresses. This was fine as we didn't really know what we wanted and wanted to see all our options. However, as Greg said, he started pushing "sales" on us and simply wanted to push us out of our price range. Throughout the man never really seemed to educate us on what we were laying on simply hopping from bed to bed looking for something we would spend money on. Beware of the peeling leather furniture! I want and bought a sectional for a size able amount of money. I asked specifically for 100% real leather so it held together As nicely as my 10 year old couches had. 4 years into ownership the couches start peeling! Leather doesn't peel. I went and asked someone about it and I was told the associate must have mistakingly sold me synthetic durablend. Well i paid real leather price for something I had to sit at the curb. Thousands of dollars later, and I had to take my now 14 year old leather sofa out of my hubby's man cave and put back in our living room to make due until I can find a reputable furniture company that sells real leather. Went in looking for a desk. Maria ended up being our sales person. To begin with she was very helpful. We purchased a bed and chose to have it delivered despite debating weather it was worth it to have it delivered for $300+. Maria contacted us the next day saying she lowered our delivery fee to $200+. She then said she would find out if she could have the new contract send over electronically to have it signed for the price adjustment. Did not end up hearing from her a couple of days, and had to call for her. She called me the next day after I reached out and explained how it was taken care of. When signing fir the bed originally, we were quoted a delivery date of March 3rd-10th. With that being the estimated deliver, we agreed to start our payments the week prior to delivery. After the middle of the estimated week had passed, we called and were told that the date was April 3rd! First she told me that we had not signed the paper with the estimated date, then in another conversation told my fiancé that we signed and agreed to the April date. However how could that be when we set up for payments to start the week prior to deliver and were charged Feb 25th! We are very disappointed in the dishonesty and trap we were put into all for her to make commission off of us. I expected way more going into this store. Our order has now been cancelled because we cannot sleep on the floor for that long out! read more

The one year warranty up by 10 days the extended warranty useless. Salesman compared flattening of cushions to car seats ? Normal wear and tear ? Customer service doesn't return calls so they can send someone to decide if "normal wear and tear" in their judgement. The sofa was a Bladen hide a bed and I was prepare to buy the other three items to match. NOT NOW !! Check other reviews on the set and they have same problem. I made my first furniture purchase back in February, now it is 4/6/19 and still have not received my new couch. We were called by the salesman last week and another employee telling us our couch was in. When we called back the lady over the phone was reading back a completely different order that was not ours. So we called back again the next day to figure it all out. The employee we last spoke to us said "Yes, that was an error in our system, but your couch is in". We left to pick it up at the warehouse on 30 and only one piece to our couch was in the warehouse. The employees at the warehouse told us they were were waiting on the other pieces to get in, but turns out our couch was loaded up in another person's vehicle. The customer service to follow was less than impressive. I would highly recommend not using this company. The salesman had a misnomer of saying "take it out of the box before you take it home and inspect it or it will be hard to return it" which I didn't do because it was heavy and I was in a hurry. When we bought extended warranty, customer service took 6 weeks to get back to me after multiple phone calls I had to finally go into the store to speak with someone and by that time my warranty ran out and they wouldn't honor it anymore. Do not waste your time or money at the College Station Ashley Furniture. They have nothing in stock and it will take weeks to get your merchandise. I asked if I could cancel the order and they assured me I could as long as I had not received the merchandise. I read the cancelation policy on my invoice and it says you can cancel within 48 hours. This store told me they were too busy and my sales associate would call me to complete the return. She never called. When I called back the general manager said no to the cancellation. I asked to speak to corporate and GM tells me they are locally owned and don't answer to anybody. In the end he refused to cancel the order. This store new exactly what they were doing. The wanted to get me past the 48 hour mark so I could not cancel my order and get a refund. Keep in mind I was told I could return or cancel as long as I had not received the merchandise. I called my bank explained the situation and they disputed the charge and refunded my account (Chase Bank). The representative said they see this a lot with Ashley Furniture. Don't go to Ashley Furniture if you want ethical, and professional customer service. They have a low quality product as well. A lot of cheap particle board; nothing is solid wood. read more
