The rating is more about the stench that the sofa has. I aired it from the moment it arrived, fresh air, ceiling fans, frebreez didn't help mask the horrid odor. Smells like something crawled inside the stuffing and died. I did call the company and they will call me back in two days. It is a weekend and holiday weekend to boot. I never write reviews .... but that's just how terrible my experience with Ashley has been. Like the others, I knew I shouldn't have gone here for my TV credenza because my mom had recently had such a horrible experience with them (she hasn't had couches for months because she got rid of her old couches to make space for her new couches and basically they never came ..... but that's a story for another time). First, it was pretty much impossible to make an address change to my delivery . I moved and my husband had originally thought it would be a better idea to have the item delivered to my moms house . He called a week before the delivery to change the address and received confirmation that it had been changed . Day of the service and lo and behold ..... the crew is on their way to the wrong address . My husband had to pretty much take two hours off work to drive from Camarillo to North Hollywood to try to catch the delivery - and was told the delivery guys could not wait 10 minutes for him to get there to sign for the item...... ok. Hubby calls customer service to see what happened ..... is told "you have to call the store to change the address........ OKAY - so why was he not told that in the FIRST place when he had called the previous week to make the change ?! The store is called and can you believe it ? no answer ....... he literally has to leave a VOICEMAIL. This voicemail was left on Thursday and come Sunday we still have received no call back no nothin' Hubby goes in to the store physically is given a bunch of bullshit and offered a $50 gift card. HA!! There is literally nothing in that store that we could possibly want .... and most things are more than $50 so all they're doing is getting us for MORE money for an item that will probably take a month or more to get ..... long story short , my delivery was supposed to occur today . This place has yet again earned their one star. In all fairness, they have a nice inventory of furniture and they are close to our house, but they continually leave us dissatisfied with the way they handle customers. We had a delivery issue with them once before but I suppose we assumed it was an isolated incident. But NO it happened again because our salesman failed to take down our CORRECT phone number. This was a really bad thing because they will not knock on your door for the delivery. Heck, they won't even show up IF YOU DON'T ANSWER YOUR PHONE. So we called the morning of our delivery just to try to confirm the day and time and no one came to the phone. We weren't worried at that point since it was just moments after the store opened and deliveries typically come at 11am. We waited and waited for a bit and at this point we tried calling again, and still no answer. I called a total of 10-12 times before I finally got an answer and by 1:00 it was CONFIRMED that we had missed our delivery. (7-10 days is what I was told) DO NOT MISS YOUR DELIVERY BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT SEND DRIVERS BACK TO YOU ON THE SAME DAY. THEY WONT SEND THEM NEXT DAY, EITHER! YOU ARE LIKELY TO WAIT AN ADDITIONAL WEEK FOR YOUR FURNITURE. This is where we came across another issue. Its summertime and we have family in town from Texas tomorrow and we can't inconvenience our guests by moving furniture around the house. So we called our salesman to see if there was anything we could arrange to ensure we get our furniture before Friday. At this point we figured our best bet was to go pick it up ourselves. It didn't seem too bad, since after all, we asked our salesman if would be assembled and he said it would be. It seemed simple. We rented a pickup truck, scheduled an appointment and drove to their warehouse IN COLTON, which was over an hour drive. Once we got there we were happy but then discovered that the furniture was not assembled as promised. We complained and a nice gentleman had his assembly crew assemble the furniture for us and load it onto our truck. So we spent most of our day in Colton picking up, assembling lifting and setting up our new furniture on our own. This is a service we paid to have done for us and WE STILL HAVE YET TO RECEIVE OUR REFUND FOR US HAVING TO DO IT OURSELVES. Very inconvenient and very unfair company. Full Story and Update as of today with buying furniture from Ashley HomeStore. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!!!!!! Feel free to share so your friends and family do not go through the same thing. We went to the store and bought a sectional couch and outdoor furniture for our deck around August 5th and was told it would be delivered on the 18th. They delivered it on the 30th and left the trash in my house (plastic from couch), and in the driveway. The outdoor furniture is still not together. I took off work to accept the delivery and made a phone call to customer service to see what time they would be here. The representative on the phone told me they were not delivering the furniture today but instead on the 30th. They never let us know we had to call and find out. The 30th comes and we call in again to see what time the furniture would be here so we could be home. Once they show up they leave the plastic from the couch in the living room and the box for the outdoor furniture opened and leaned up against the back porch to where it could fall, because they did not have the hardware to put it together. One of the chairs is leaning at the base and one is scratched on the top of both arms. The trash in the driveway had the little wooden pieces with nails in it. If you pay that much money for furniture there should not be anything wrong with it. Since it should have been delivered on the 18th you would think they would check to make sure they had everything. I called and talked to the manager (Kim) since the salesperson (JaMichael) told us they would install the outdoor table and not the coils to the fire-pit AND he could take $250 off since it was a inconvenience of them not coming to delivery it on the 18th. She told me that they will not put together the table because it is a law, then why would they open the box for it and why did your sale person tell me that they would. She said that they would order the hardware and looked it up for me saying it would come to my house in a week and half. After I receive that to call back in and set up another time for them to come back out and put it together. After talking with the manager she said that there was no one in the store to authorize the $250 discount so I told her I was coming up to the store. After hanging up she called back and said there was no need to come up there that she had spoke to the GM (Kevin) of the Pineville NC store and he authorized the $250, five minutes ago there was no one there and now he is there all of a sudden. He calls me after hanging up from talking to Kim the manager to listen to my concerns. At the end of our conversation he said he would take care of everything from here on out that I would not have to do anymore calling customer service and to send him pictures of the trash left and the damaged chairs from the outdoor patio furniture. I sent them to his cell phone and to his email. He also told me that his Regional Manager would be giving me a call as well. It is the 4th of September and have not heard from them yet!! One problem I have is that we had sold our old couch since we thought we were getting new furniture then and had to buy something else to sit on since we would not get it until the 30th. Saturday, August 31st, I received a phone voicemail from customer service saying she was calling to set up a time for them to come back out and install the table. I tried calling them back 2 minutes after they called on the number they gave me to call and the number they called from and they were closed. Tuesday the 3rd of September I call customer service since I have not heard anything else to see about scheduling a day and time for them to come back out and finally put together the outdoor table. I talked to the lady that said they could on Wednesday the 4th and asked me what time would be best. I told her since I had to take 2 days off already from work later is the best. So she said she put in for evening and they would call me that evening to let me know when they would be showing up on Wednesday. I also told her about not having the hardware and she told me that they have it and would be bringing it out with them. I called back in on Wednesday morning since I did not get a call letting me know what time and was told it was going to be 1130-230pm. I took more time off work since the outdoor table was going to be put together today. When they showed up at 2 o'clock we all walked to the back porch and they started getting the table out and I asked them if they had the hardware. They said that they were not told they needed any. I called and texted the GM of that store when they left again and no answer!! I have had it with dealing with them and getting the run around. Someone needs to do their job and be held accountable. I am filing this with the Better Business Bureau Charlotte and posting it all over our pages on social media. Uhhhh, what in affordable couch hell? Did I go to the same store as the rest of these people?! I'm SERIOUSLY thinking the manager has taken these reviews seriously and turned this place around because I had a seamless transaction and am now sitting in my delightfully decorated living room which I received for an awesome price without incident. I had read these reviews the evening before going to this store so I had my guard WAY up when I walked in, expecting to be bombarded by salesmen. I was greeted and given maybe a 15-second spiel about what kind of furniture was where, but then I was left completely alone. I took some photos of potential items for purchase and left without incident! I came back a few days later when I for sure knew I had gotten my new apartment. I applied for their credit card so that I could have 12 months to pay this off interest free and was approved on the spot. Absolutely zero dollars up front. Fast forward a week and my living room and dining room sets arrived right on time -- I was told they'd be here between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m... I got a call at about 8:05 and they said they'd be there within ten minutes! The furniture looks great and for the insanely low price and ability to pay it off over a year, I am beyond happy! Zero problems. Walked in, the salesman KC greeted me. I told him I was looking for a sofa and the size limitations I have in my apartment. They had the exact one I saw on their site, so I was able to sit on it and feel the fabric. I was hesitant about ordering online because I didn't know if this thing was comfortable at all. It was! The price in the store was way more than it was on their site, so he price-matched it without hesitation. Got it delivered a few days later, and even the delivery guys helped get my old sofa out to the curb. Price was right, couch is comfortable (so far, as it's only been about 10 days that I've had it), delivery was smooth, salesman was extremely helpful. They do a fantastic job of selling the furniture and fail to accommodate their customer with a damaged furniture that is the same price as furniture at a Macys. I contacted Ashley within my one year warranty on October 17, 2016 and they have been jerking me around ever since and refuse to honor the warranty. They now completely ignore my emails . Our couch started falling apart about 10 months after we bought it. The arm is unravelling and the foot stool pops when reclining. Terrible all around! Let me start by saying, don't let the smiling faces that greet you at the door and then follow you around the store to give you the best service possible, fool you. It's all about the paychecks for this store. Our salesman was great while we were shopping around. Going back and forth to check prices for us, letting us know what is or isn't available for rush delivery, etc. Basically, not leaving our side until we decided on our items. After hours in the store, we found pieces of furniture and decorations that we were happy with and decided to move forward with our purchase. We spent $3600 total and we walked away very happy and excited about our new furniture. You're probably wondering... Okay? Whats the problem then? Well, here's the problem: The reason why we spent so many hours shopping in the store is that we had a very short deadline and needed our furniture by a specific date. A lot of the items we were interested in couldn't be delivered by the date we needed. We had other furniture that we were interested in other stores that could be delivered when needed, and we made our salesman aware of that. He busted his butt to make sure that we didn't go elsewhere with our business and continued to help us find furniture that would be delivered by our deadline. Once the furniture was chosen, he took us over to the computer for payment, agreements, signatures required, etc. He took the time to go through every item to make sure the correct item, price, delivery date, etc. was correct and confirmed by me. Everything was perfect. Fast forward to a day or two before our delivery was due, we receive confirmation of the incorrect delivery date. We call to address this, only to be told that some items will be delivered on said date, and a few other items will be delivered on a future date. Um, Excuse me? Now you're not only telling me that my items aren't being delivered on the original agreed delivery date, but that we are receiving our items on TWO different delivery dates?! Both of which were not the discussed dates! UNREAL! Upon calling the store to address these concerns and issues, we got the runaround, spoke to multiple different employees before actually reaching a manager (every time I called they claimed the managers were on a conference call, and this was at different times and different days of the week), and once we spoke to a manager he just apologized and said that there wasn't anything he could do concerning the delivery dates. He said the agreement we signed had the dates in which we were receiving the items and there was no mistake... Their salesman are con artists and just want their commission checks. Our salesman told us we would have it delivered by a specific date, and upon confirming the invoice and asking for our signature, he pointed out everything else (price, item name, item color, etc.) EXCEPT for the guaranteed delivery date. Promised me the third section of couch and expressive ass mattress cover which was charged to my purchase . when furniture was delivered third section was not delivered anyhow they suckered me in. A week later after my furniture was delivered a friend that works at another Ashley location told me they made several thousands from my purchase and could have gotten my living room for less than $100 for purchasing the mattress I got. Understand they trying to make a living however, this is f up ... people work hard for their money and people like those two and certain of many others abuse of people all the time. I have been working with my bank and now the police because an employee and manager authorized a transaction after I left the store. I tried to purchase something my bank blocked and left when I changed my mind and was running late to pick up my daughter. The staff left me a voicemail and message saying they'd approved the sale after I left and needed my signature. I never returned to sign but then they sent the bed anyway and wouldn't accept a return so unless you want to have to work for weeks with your bank turning over voicemails from mirtra saying they need your authorization and then never authorizing it I would shop somewhere else because I have had a $6000 bed in a box that didn't even come with all the pieces that I can't do anything with until my fraud issue is resolved because they will run your card after you leave the store even if they say they need your authorization and you don't come back to provide it. read more

I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews, in particular with this store. I had a fantastic experience at Ashley and it was primarily because of the staff at this location (there's an Ashley furniture store closer to my house but I went in there once and wasn't impressed so I didn't think I would ever go back)...but I was on my way to Ikea and thought I would stop here first. Rashaan was the associate helping me and he was great. Was patient, friendly and not pushy at all. He worked with his sales manager Chris and they gave me an incredible deal on an entertainment center (not some BS deal...was truly hundreds less than this entertainment center is online through other vendors but I didn't even need to mention that to have them offer me a great price). Chris said that he strives to treat his customers like family and I definitely felt that was the case! The delivery was completely smooth--the day of I could even track how soon they would be at my house (my delivery window was from 10am-2pm and they came right at 10!). I strongly recommend against shopping at Ashely Furniture in Burbank. Ashley Furniture has shady business practices and you should not be fooled by their first impressions (like we did). They will say anything to "close the deal" and then give you the runaround. The contract is misleading and they are sneaky about what the terms mean. The manager and floor rep agreed to deliver the furniture on one date but then delivered it weeks later. Moreover, the crafty employees tried to trick us by signing their credit card application (whatever they call it) by making it seem as if it was furniture related paperwork. They are very sneaky and I don't recommend shopping here at all. My family went through hell because of their lies and I just wished that I read these reviews before shopping at Ashely Furniture. What's more, they have a huge amount of consumer complaints on the Better Business Bureau (BBB.org) that corroborates that this company is not trustworthy. I purchased an office chair that they delivered damaged. I called twice and never received a response after waiting for over 20 minutes on hold. After I called corporate, waiting again for 20 minutes to talk to someone, they said someone would get in contact with me, and no one ever did. Then I received a text message that I needed to schedule an appointment to get my chair fixed. No personal phone call. Are you kidding me? This place isn't too bad. We bought a few things and for the most part we were left alone until we wanted to place our order and pay. Some of their furniture is a little cheesy but if you look carefully you can find some nice pieces. Like other yelpers, I thought the delivery process was annoying. We bought a table, book case, and chair and ended up with three different deliveries. At one point the table was supposed to be delivered, however, it went on back order. Their store never called us with an update...we instead had to call them. The delivery guys are very friendly and professional. However, they seem overloaded with too many deliveries per day which is really an error with management rather than an error with the delivery guys. Sure their service isn't perfect, but I will say we also bought a couch from IKEA at the same time. We love our couch, but my back is still sore from carrying my unassembled heavy a** couch up three flights of stairs. No matter how much you call their customer service it will take you an hour minimum. What impresses me is that out of the 50 times on hold for an hour, I have only been connected twice. It is now three weeks since my order should have been delivered and have two orders sitting here broken in their boxes. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. We bought a $1000 couch and paid $120 for delivery. The first delivery attempt, they tried to give us a couch that was ripped. We sent it back. The second delivery attempt, the two guys could not figure out how to get the couch inside the house and into our guest room. We measured everything and knew before we bought it that it would fit a) in the front door; b) in the guest room door; and c) in the actual place we wanted it. The delivery guys didn't even break out a tape measure before they told us that it wouldn't fit. So we asked for a refund. Here's where the customer service gets even worse. It took three phone calls and an hour on the phone before someone would even escalate the matter to the highest level department to get a refund. It's been three days and the best they can tell me is that they've open a case and are reviewing the issues. No word on how long it'll be before I get a refund -- or if they'll repay interest that I'm being charged on my card. Absolutely horrible customer service. read more

I have a several pieces of Ashley furniture in my home. So naturally when we needed a new recliner we went back after a few years to purchase a new one. From the minute we walked into the Oxnard Store we should have known to run - we were looked over by multiple sales people having to track someone down twice to actually get help. Ordered and paid for recliner, recliner took 2 months to get to us then was delivered damaged. We refused the delivery, however the delivery guy took pictures, left no paperwork, stated he would be back and took off. Spent hours on hold with Ashely that day to pick up their damaged recliner and replace only to be told the delivery driver stated we refused to let him take the recliner and posted NO pictures basically called us liars. We opened a case and have now spoken to 6 different people who have done NOTHING we still have damaged recliner and they still have my money. I will NEVER purchase again this is unacceptable way to treat customers much less a returning customer. I keep being told they are working with return department to see if my return is approved. I was actually surprised by the reviews here because my family and I came here for the first time and we ended up spending more than $3000 on a furniture set because of the quality and the customer service. My Dad really wanted to buy a couch set at Jerome's but he was won over. We ended up buying a Navy Graford couch set and table. We thought it was rather expensive but Mostafa and Emad Bolies (the sales manager) worked to get the best deal that made my parents comfortable. They made it an easy experience and my parents were finally able to buy a couch they both loved with a solid discount and warranty. I ordered some coffee tables from Ashley's furniture store. They scheduled a delivery for Friday morning. I was not home so my son received the order. Once I got home, I noticed that what I had ordered was NOT what I had received. I called customer service and they said that there was nothing that could be done because my son had "signed" the acceptance. How is a national company going to have customer service that does not satisfy the customer. What kind of company has just anyone sign off on the acceptance. Mind you, management called the delivery people and asked them to go and pick it up. They called back and told me "the delivery guys do not want to go and pick up your order because you signed the acceptance". I have a question, who's running this circus? The sales person could not provide a one on one as he was going back and forth to other customers. And now to the delivery: Today after almost 8 weeks my couch is scheduled to arrive. I received the text message from Ashley's delivery and as instructed I replied, "Yes", and immediately received the confirmation. I just got off the phone with customer service to inquire about an ETA and he tells me my delivery isn't until 12/27!! I told the rep that was not acceptable and I wanted to get transferred to a supervisor. He replied and said he had to put me on a brief hold to create a case before he could transfer me. Instead he hangs up on me. I am now on hold calling the same number 1-833-578-0300 as noted on the delivery confirmation I received by text to get someone else that can help me. All I want is my furniture that I paid for and needless to say the cost for delivery is outrageous! Good sales but customer service is really bad unfortunately. read more

This company is complete trash. They delivered the wrong items and then were almost impossible to get ahold of. Then when I finally cleared up the problem they set up another delivery date and then on the day of delivery called to say they were out of stock. Vana Was helping me she is an amazing person, also Lucy she is the best one in the team, but the furniture has been delayed multiple times, only for them to be unavailable. I had ordered sofas, love seats, coffee table and end tables. I only received the tables and was told the rest were unavailable, so I picked other pieces, however they do not fit with the tables. Also it has been 2 months since I ordered a kitchen table, the crew has arrived three times and they always tell me that its unavailable last minute. I've also experienced some of the worst costumer service, if its unavailable do not sell it. read more

Lots of furniture... Big L shaped couches and big beds with large headboards... desks and tables. 48 months zero interest.... nice. On the downside, I saw a lot of the same styles repeating. I'd rather see different style couches rather than the same couch with different upholstery. But they do have catalogs with a bunch of other furniture. If you're in the market for new furniture... check it out. A lot easier to get in and out of than Ikea! read more
