Love this coffee spot!! If you're looking for beachy coastal vibes while in the OBX this is the place to go. The coffee is great, the flavors are unique and honestly the prices are the most affordable on the OBX. when it comes to good quality coffee with cool flavor combinations this is a great place!! My boyfriend got the blackberry cobbler matcha with white chocolate and blackberry and it was DELISH!!!! I got the Lebanese blonde with latte which has pistachio and cinnamon. They have dairy alternatives for those of you who want oat or almond milk. The plus side if they sell art from local artists and you can look while you wait.

Great hidden gem! A friend recommend it. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside makes up for it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was pretty crowded, but service was super fast. A lot to choose from! There were also crafts and paintings among other things for sale. 2 drip flavored coffees. A little strong for me, but you can put as much cream in it as you want. Prices are very reasonable. And you get 1 free refill with the house coffees. Will definitely go back when I return in the fall!

Despite long lines service was fast, friendly and efficient. My Lebanese Blonde (pistachio and cinnamon) iced latte was well crafted and delicious. Interior is adorable sparking guests creativity.

Popular coffee shop in Kill Devil Hills with excellent coffee, matcha lattes, and pastries! We stopped here after beach yoga and found a parking spot out front. Due to the line, we anticipated a longer wait. We ordered at the counter and planned to view the artwork and gifts for sale. Before we could, our order was already completed. We stayed to check out some of the items before leaving. The cafe is a little cramped so not a great option for dining in. It's perfect for ordering to-go.

The coffee shop is very cute. There are some small items for sell, mostly artsy items and some jewelry. The coffee was just good, nothing exceptional. The barista taking our order was overly rude. overall experience is 4/5.

New here? This place is BUSY - come ready to wait in line, we were outside the door on a Monday morning around 9. But it is adorable inside, plenty of merchandise to browse before and after you order. I wish they had a few more options for baked goods, but enjoyed the banana nut muffin I got! Also had an amazing iced chai latte. Somewhat on the pricier side but not too bad. I wish their blender was working because I would've tried a frozen drink to beat the heat! There is some seating inside but not enough for the crowd this place gathers! Lots of beautiful artwork on the walls inside :) Outside they have limited parking and a nice shaded area for sitting and reading/eating.

Best coffee in the outer banks! Super cute and cozy atmosphere. My daughter loved being able to draw with us with their provided art table while we sipped our coffee and looked at art. I got the nutty maple latte which was perfect and my husband got a dirty chai tea latte which he said was the best he has ever had!

I absolutely LOVED everything about my experience at Ashley's! The staff was super sweet and helpful when I asked about the drink menu. I got the Ol' Helga latte (AMAZING)! Highly highly recommend. I also got the sesame seed bagel with vegetable cream cheese which was also very good. I'm not sure if the cream cheese had ginger in it, but something gave an overwhelming flavor of ginger (still delicious tho). The vibes inside are so chill! If you can look past the parking situation, everything about this place is 10/10 :)

Saw their cute banana sign when driving by and had to stop in. They have a small parking lot and it does get busy, so be aware of that. They sell a lot of cool merchandise and local wares within as well as a lot of coffee and tea options! I tried a hot cappuccino with coconut milk and it wasn't as good as one I had elsewhere in OBX. My friend got one of their specialty iced drinks, Lebanese Blonde, (which had cinnamon and pistachio) and it was delicious. We tried a bottled kombucha they had for sale as well (black lime and mint) and it was fantastic. I'd go back for the kombucha for sure and would try a different hot coffee beverage.

This was a good stop if you're looking to pick up a cup of coffee on the go. Not a lot of places to sit. Also not a lot of food items. Overall the coffee tasted pretty good, and the staff was pretty nice but they were wicked busy. Parking is also tight, and we had to walk a block or so. The vibe seemed to, but it was a little too packed to get any kind of real ambience.

Stopped here on our way out of OBX. It's a cute little coffee shop located off Croatan Hwy. inside there's lots of coffee and espresso selections as well as wine, pastries and more. They don't make it easy for a first timer to choose because everything sounds good! I chose the Lebanese blonde which is an espresso based drink with cinnamon and pistachio syrup. It's on the list of barista favorites. The espresso had a unique flavor and bite but I did enjoy it. They have several seating areas and also lots of local handmade items for sale. This is a cute shop where you could get comfy and easily spend a long afternoon.

The best local spot for espresso, coffee, and fun sweet drinks like the "CocoNana". They have homemade whipped cream which you can request on top of any drinks. Staff is friendly and kind. They can make a frozen kids hot chocolate too which was a WIN for us! Start a punch card at the beginning of your vacation and you'll have a freebie drink in no time.

I really loved the vibe of this place. There was artwork all over the walls (that could be purchased from the looks of it) and they even had little things, I assume from small businesses, that you could purchase. It was a quick visit and I was not sure what to order so I tried the Woody drink. Unfortunately I did not like it very much but I think I just chose the wrong drink. If I'm ever in the area again I would love to come back and try something else. I also ordered and chocolate chip cookie for my daughter that we shared and it was delicious.

Is there any better than coffee after coming off the beach? Ashley's is the best coffee on the Outer Banks and just steps from Helga Beach Access so whether I'm warming up after sunrise on a December morning or grabbing an Iced Lebanese Blonde after a hot day, it's my go to. The staff are friendly and chill. The music is always on point.Im a big fan of their cranberry orange muffins. They also stock great handmade items like earrings and pottery. You can pick from a great selection of beer. They even have amazing ice cream sandwiches featuring coffee ice cream. Be sure to pick up beans (we usually choose the Red Dawn blend) roasted on site for your beach house. The saddest day of the week is when we have to head home to Pennsylvania, but we always soften the blow by grabbing coffee from Ashley's for the road. Until next time! read more

Ashley's Espresso Parlour is the very best coffee place in the #OBX! The coffee is excellent and each order is prepared exactly the way you want it- if you don't know what you want, they have some very creative flavor combos or can prep to meet your vision. The parlour is spacious with lots of cozy seating, decorated with art from local artists (I always see something I want) and they have outdoor space with seating as well. People may not be aware that Ashley's roasts their own beans and can send their magical beans directly to you, even if you live out of state. I didn't eat at Ashley's but they advertise breakfast sandwiches, but they only have bagels w/cream cheese and croissants filled with spinach. They were very nice just not clear about the menu offerings. It appeared their coffee drinks were very popular. read more

Not a coffee snob by any means, and I'm always up for something new to me. After a relative pushed this place called Ashley's hard for days, I decided I o give it a try. Not sure what it was, but our coffee was awful. Even the cold brew my wife got was undrinkable. We do have some coffee snobs in the family, so we had them try both. Even they couldn't drink it. Maybe it was the day, maybe it was the particular brew. Either way, it'll be a while before returning. Parking is weird. Wheelchair sign is posted sideways and there are no spaces painted. So, really no idea where to park. Just...park, I guess. Inside felt cramped and a little overwhelming. Ladies behind the counter were nice enough, but also gave off a vibe of being annoyed we were there. It was hard to explain. read more

This is one of the best coffee shops me and my girlfriend have ever been too! I highly recommend this place and wish I was local to OBX to get more drinks here! They have great service, get here earlier to avoid the wait, this place is busy for a reason! The decorations and shop are great too! They have really cool art pieces on sale. They offer lots of seating inside and outside which is very nice as well! Go here if you're in the area! 10/10. read more

I've tried several places in the area for espresso beverages, and this wasn't the best of any of them. Took 4 times to get them to "understand" what I ordered, and they still got the wrong size. I even pointed to the cup I wanted and got the smaller one, so what I got was far stronger than I wanted. They seem to have not much of a clue on how to properly steam milk for a latte and it came out way overblown. This is coming from the perspective of a former shop owner trained by one of the best in the nation on how to do things and even to the point of latte art, even using a crappy machine at home. What I got was amateurish in the way it was done and only a slim margin better than Starbucks. Coffee roast itself was just not that good. read more

Something I look forward to on vacations is trying out coffee spots each morning. For years I have never found coffee that wowed me . ( which is ok) but TODAY! I knew when I had to wait about 15 mins in a line, outside the building just to get in. This must be worth waiting for....... HOLY COW!!! This place is mind blowingly good. LIFE CHANGING delicious. Ashley's Espresso Parlor has the best coffee in town. We tried several cafe's during our visit, by far the best. I ordered the medium size cold brew which was flavorful and was a Brazilian blend. Loved the fact that the coffee had so much flavor without the added cream. The ambiance was eclectic as well. There were lots of cute gifts and a pup section too! read more

OMG BEST Lebanese blond. MUST try it. Then also the dirty bird is amazing! I also tried the GALE Wind bc you HAVE to try it. They are incredibly efficient in making your drinks so don't be discouraged by the line. It was sooooo good. When ever I visit I will be coming here again. read more

The decor, the vibe, and the drinks are all on point. Eclectic and cozy coffee house that slings really great drinks and eats. No complaints! This place was really cute! My husband got a Harry Potter themed drink (baristas pick), so that was automatic brownie points. They offer hot, iced, and frozen drinks. As well as a variety of bakery items. Our personal favorite was the blueberry crumble cake. My friend Olivia and I were in Kill Devil Kills for a couple of days, and we went here every day we were in town. The coffee is excellent, they have local art and all sorts of interesting things to look at, and the staff is all so friendly and helpful! We really loved a notebook where customers had written things in them, it was an inspiring couple of moments waiting for our coffee. Their bagels and baked goods are outstanding and again, cannot express how sweet and accommodating the people who work there are. We will be dreaming of the iced sweet baby jesus and white chocolate raspberry scones for a long time back in NYS. (Oh and I don't really drink much but they have a real unique local selection of wine beer seltzer and hard kombucha) I seriously can't recommend this place enough! read more

This place is cozy, quaint, and uniquely decorated. I got a salted caramel mocha -- my go-to drink this time of year -- and it was pretty good. They have coffee, t-shirts, pictures, postcards, and various other tchotchkes for sale. Coffee bean burlap sacks were around, though I'm unsure if they had coffee or were there for decoration. Several tables are here, so I guess you could work here if you wanted, but I don't think I'd be on any extended phone calls. The employees weren't as friendly as some other OBX coffee shops I've visited, and it seemed to take longer than I thought was usual to make our drinks...we were the only ones in line at the time. Parking was tough at an off-time, so I can't imagine what it must be during typical coffee rush hours -- let alone the summer. This place is okay, but there's another locally-owned coffee shop that's still my fave. read more

Despite the name, I like this place for their regular coffee. Every day they have a dark roast blend and a light roast single origin, which is what I like. Something different each day. My wife says the espresso drinks are really good too. read more

Is this little oasis relaxing with a laid back environment? Yes.! Is Ashley's staff including Kyle, Eli, Alexandra, Macy, Alex and others offer a welcoming and respectful experience to customers? Awesome little spot with amazing coffee! Sometimes a like but it normally goes quickly. Ashley's Lebanese Blonde with Oatmilk and Iced is exactly the great you want in the summertime. It can transform an ordinary drink into something special. It makes the magic of coffee last throughout the entire day. I was immediately welcomed when I walked into the Outer Bean. Initially, I was bummed because cortados were not on the menu. I asked the barista if she would try to make one. She said sure. I gave her general directions and she walked to the espresso machine. A couple of minutes later she handed me a cup with two shots of espresso and a stainless steel pitcher with steamed milk. The barista said, "Why don't you add the milk in so you get it just the way you want." I thought this was a thoughtful gesture. I thanked her and made my cortado. We chatted a bit. It turned out she is Thai and my husband is Thai; and I love to talk about Thailand. I took a few pictures. We exchanged goodbyes and I exited the cafe with a genuine smile and a very positive impression of the Outer Bean. Smiles are free and they can elevate and/or improve any situation. Plus, folks always look better when they smile. I hope you make this world a better place by sharing your smile with someone today. It got the job done as I enjoy one cup a day and was a bit behind schedule. The place is small, but perfect for a coffee shop where take out is mostly occurring.

The parking lot was crazy with big trucks, delivery trucks and early risers trying to get in and out of the lot. Pickup was a breeze, donuts ready in their designated pickup spot. Now the challenge of escaping the lot. That was easy peasy because this was a 2 person effort! Donuts were so cute. Each hand crafted with super cute colors. They tasted so fresh and "sweet". My wife and I went to Ashley's Espresso Parlour and All-Time Roasting every single morning when we were in The Outer Banks. Words cannot describe how wonderful this place is. First and foremost, the coffee is out of this world. I tried the ice coffee, slow drip coffee, and several shots of espresso - all delicious. The everything bagels and bacon, egg, and cheese croissants are phenomenal as well. But what really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone working at this establishment is friendly and welcoming. Ashley has a beautiful soul and recommended so many things for my wife and I to do during our visit to The Outer Banks (by the way, all the recommendations were excellent). All-in-all, I will miss this little espresso parlour and I'll be counting down the days when I return. read more
