West Third
Stan H.

I had a very respectable spinach feta pastry and so so ham and cheddar pastry that needed more ham. Had the West Third beverage via barista suggestion and probably would've preferred white west third if I noticed it as an option. But I mean, I had to order some drink because I did not want to get towed, right? Lol Staff is friendly and quick w food. This is typically a come and take out place but this place has a setup for staying in. Typical appropriately sized wooden chair seating in the main dining area and a few couches way in the back. There is some kind of "bar" area that may be used for something later on in the day or special events? With the inside setting, it is too bad they don't have some real meal type food offerings. As true to its name, there is a hang out area to dine outside as well. Why 5 stars instead of 4? I am able to work remotely the entire day with wifi access. Outlets abundant on a wall. Not as quiet as Charis because of the music, but still reasonably so. Also, the place is a local favorite with a homely vibe very suitable for Manteo.

Croissant with Ham, Egg, Cheese

We got this to go and it was wonderful. Firstly they packaged all the food in a really sturdy card board box which was nice. My family members who went in to get it found the inside to be very welcoming and clean. The employee was very kind. We got to eat an Asiago Bagel with Cream Cheese, Cinnamon Roll, Strawberry Cream Cheese Croissant, and Pro Surfer Zen Cup. To drink we got Coffee, Earl Grey with Lavender/Honey, and Cherry Italian Soda. The cinnamon roll and strawberry croissant were my two favorites. Both were very flavorful and fresh. The last food item was the Egg, Ham, and Cheese Croissant. It was not enjoyable because it was cold. All the beverages were good. I especially enjoyed my tea, they put the right amount of lavender to where you can taste it but it is not overwhelming. Overall, very pleased with our experience and we would recommend!

Lots of things to choose from

The Front Porch Cafe is my new favorite coffee shop on the OBX! They have freshly baked pastries made in house each morning. The coffee is delicious and they have a unique menu. Love this place!!

We came in today on our way back home from camping all week and wanting coffee from local place! Was not disappointed! Coffee was really good and we even got some coffee ground to take home. They have few locations in area and have a couple of options for picking up online or curbside as well. The staff was very nice. The only hiccup was our order got meshed in with someone else's so it took a minute to get it cleared up but they were great about it and so was the customers. Lots of inside space for seating.. you could come and sit and work on laptop with wifi access plus they had a printer ! They offer a good bit of baked items that looked very good too...next time we'd definitely go back!

Pomegranate green tea

[Coronavirus review] This cafe offers tea, coffee, and basic food. The banana nut muffin and pomegranate green tea were fine and inexpensive. What was really clutch about them though is that they were allowing outdoor seating and had working WiFi, a boon for those of us who have online business to do. My reception was mediocre at best in the Outer Banks, so this was an oasis of modernity. They had a couple of high chairs with tables in the shade, and I wasn't the only one taking advantage of a place to sit. Coffee places used to do a lot of business on this before the pandemic, but I'm glad this one still is.

Very good coffee cafe but as a dark roast fan their Dawn Patrol is like water with a coffee coloring.

I asked them to leave a little room so I can add some ice and asked for a cup with a few ice cubes so I can add it myself. Historically, when I ask for a few cubes, they put too many in and then my coffee is lukewarm at best. I like hot coffee but I have a tender tongue. It needs to be a little cooler for me to drink it right away. My total is $4-and something. I look at the screen and see they charged me $1 for a cup of water. Pull up to the window and tell them I don't want a cup of water, just a few ice cubes and I'm not paying $1 for it. The three girls behind the window look at me like I have three heads and they don't know what to do with what I just said. They are whispering when lady #4 comes around the corner, at a level 8 attitude and says: if you want us to put the ice in, we will. But if you want to do it it's going to cost you a dollar. People, I've not had coffee yet. I'm running on four hours of sleep and when I tell you I wanted to match her energy, the adult side of me just told them I'm not doing this and pull away from the window. My next stop was Dunkin in Nags Head where they proceeded to give me exactly what I requested... without charging me $1 for some ice in a cup.
