DO NOT buy from this store! The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. We ordered couches in November 2020 and have yet to receive all the pieces. They don't call you to update you what's going. I had to call consistently and they never answer the phone. And when you do get someone on the phone they are rude. Still waiting on our last piece to complete the set and have been given about 7 different dates. This is unacceptable! I will NEVER order from Ashley's again! Stay far away from this place. Sales staff are dishonest and try to cheat customers at every turn possible. They will lie to your face and then alter the deal after the fact. We agreed for delivery to our new apartment july 3rd. After searching at several stores all week, we finally purchased a dining set with Debbie's help. She took the online price match information to her manager Steve, who was very professional & honest. They try to honor the online prices as best as they can. They got us a deal within $200 of our expected price which is worth it just to get the guaranteed protection in dealing with salespeople & avoiding any shipping issues. I wouldn't recommend this furniture store. We spent a few hours looking around and working with an associate. We opted for a dining set, coffee and end tables and a bedroom set. We were given a total cost and applied for a store credit card. As they were finalizing the paperwork the sales manager approached us and said they cant honor the price that the sales associate had given us. Classic bait and switch. Had we not already applied for the card I wouldn't have been AS mad. It would have just been the aggravation of the time wasted, but now we have a credit card that we would have rather opened at a store that actually honored their word! Nice; went out of his way to get what we wanted; even left his daughter's graduation to assist my husband and I......HOWEVER! So disappointed with Ashley HomeStore. Back in June, my mom purchased a beautiful kitchen table (4 chairs) and a (one bench) for my new home. Eight months later the table is buckling, there are stains that I cannot identify with and when I reached out to Ashley HomeStore they basically told me it's wear/tear. Um, really...it's normal to just buckle like that? Is it normal to have weird stains on it? I get scratches, but not this. I had a wonderful experience at this location. I was very stressed with purchasing a new home and now having to purchase new furniture for it was extra stressful. Brian was excellent and made the process very enjoyable. I left here today very happy and excited for my new furniture!! Steve was also awesome. Warning: do NOT shop here. The only thing worse than the service is the so-called manager who just straight up lies and then ignores calls from customers. They ordered the wrong color couch for me (after I had them double check!) and now 5 weeks later I still don't have a couch and can't get a call back. I would give it a zero if possible. We spent a couple hours in this store and found what we wanted. Worked with Rafael Diaz on the section that we wanted and what pieces we needed. Picked out a coffee table and all this was in stock and deliverable within 2-4 days! Went to the counter, paid for the pieces and then they gave me the sheet explaining what I was ordering. The whole order was wrong! It was a reverse of what we needed and instead of love seat size between the corners he gave us a full sofa size. He also over quoted us on the table. I started working with them to fix the order when they said it would take 6-8 weeks to be delivered. Mind you this was a lot of time spent to find everything that was told to us at the beginning of the sale was now not the case. We credited everything, cancelled the order and went elsewhere. We bought a couch, dresser and night stands on Dec 19th 2020, on the receipt says 8-12 weeks for delivery if not delivered until Mar 23rd we would get a full refund or given another option. We waited patiently 16 weeks. My husband got a call on a Tue Apr 6th that our furniture was going to be delivered on Monday. So today we got rid of the old couch and cleaned up opening space , after waiting all day we called the store for hours nobody answers the phone , my husband drove down there and a very rude lady had the nerve to say it was never today but next Monday 19th, my husband no no no you called me a week ago and told me to get ready dot today I got rid of our couch and she went " not my problem" " there's nothing I can do ". He Didn't like it and asked to cancel the order she wanted to charge 25% restock, he got very pissed and raised his voice restock for what ???? some other guy shout from the other side for her to do not charge anything And just issue the refund. Probably so my husband could shut up and stop scaring the other customers away. We paid cash waited patiently , longer than promised , they called to schedule delivery on the wrong date and have the nerve to treat their costumers like crap. No apologies, no options no nothing. I was in dire need of a couch since I am closing on a new place in the middle of this Covid-19 pandemic and have no furniture. I was getting nervous because no stores have been open for the past two months... but as luck would have it, I stumbled upon this store that is both an Ashley retailer AND an outlet, and it happened to be open! I was welcomed right away and helped by the district manager, Brian. He couldn't have been more helpful, professional or courteous! We wound up taking advantage of the Memorial Day sales and were able to buy a couch AND an ottoman! We opened an Ashley credit card just in case we saw anything else in the future, since we are in need of a lot more furniture. We were even able to receive no interest for 18 months! Brianna, the young lady at the customer service desk, was super friendly and professional as well and we were able to get everything done very quickly (including setting up our free & fast home delivery!). I was super impressed with Ashley's selection, prices, quality and most of all, the amazing employees they have working there. I will definitely be back and recommend ALL of my friends and family who are in the market for furniture. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a couch and a dining room set from Kelvin at Ashley in Linden. He was super knowledgable and patient and helped us get the best possible price on what we loved and needed. He really went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied. As soon as I walked into the store I was greeted by Beatrice who quickly shared with me information on where to find what I was looking for. Than Steve joined me and explained the products and the quality. I loved that they did not follow me around the store and only joined me when I had questions. I also met Meddy who was so helpful with obtaining the furniture I wanted and giving me a discount on a new mattress. Lastly I also want to thank Briana that made my purchasing at the end go smoothly. I will definitely be returning to shop at this Ashley store. Great staff! I am giving them four stars for now. Ashleys was a nightmare to deal with for over 4 months. NEVER AGAIN. I have no idea what's going on with Ashley's. So many issues. I originally complained on 9/5/2017 after purchasing a love seat bundle and 3 piece sofa back in late July 2017. Fast forward to yesterday. On 1/25, I received a call from an unknown number at around 2pm while I was at work. I picked the call up and it happened to be an Ashley's furniture delivery driver. He said he was outside of my home at with a brand new sofa. I told him no one was home and that I spoke to someone at Ashley's just the day before who had told me the replacement sofa was not in stock and the delivery was not going to be scheduled until Friday. He said "Well, I have the sofa and we need to take the old one back." I rushed out of work after driver told me he had some more stops and can come back to complete delivery. The delivery drivers came back at around 5:15pm and proceeded to remove the sofa from my home, and then brought in the new one. Luckily the delivery drivers were OK with my request. All is well, and I now have the new sofa in my home. At the end of the day, I am satisfied with a new (replacement) sofa, but the entire process of this ordeal was horrendous. From the original complaint back in early September, until the very end, it was all a terrible experience. In September, I complained and sent pictures. It took a technician two months to come out and take a look just to tell me it wasn't repairable. It took speaking to at least 6 people at Ashley's, not including two repair technicians to deal with this issue. A mechanism (repair parts) were sent to my home in order for a technician to come out and attempt to repair my sofa. Technician opened the box and closed it right back. He said its useless and that I needed a new sofa and he will write in his report. I had to speak to some manager to finally agree to send a new sofa within a reasonable time frame. Prior to receiving a delivery confirmation text, last week I attempted to call Ashley's and after 10 minutes of being on hold, the call would disconnect, over and over again for about an hour and a half until I finally gave up. I was so frustrated that I emailed Ashley's customer support email letting them know what was going on with the phone system. Ashley's customer support could not even email me back? What kind of general customer support email does not email back? We are in 2018 where communication should be simple. Why was it so difficult for Ashley's to communicate and be transparent about their issues? To top it off- Earlier this week, delivery confirmation was sent to me by text and it could not be confirmed. After realizing the confirmation link was not working, I decided to call Ashley's. I was on hold for over two hours without exaggerating and have a screenshot to prove it which I've attached. That night I gave up and had to hang up the phone. I called countless times during this process and could barely speak to any Ashley's reps. This was bad. Really bad. And I've learned the hard way that I will never buy anything else with Ashley's in the future and I hope no one else does either if they keep this up. I waited 6 months for my new dining set. When the delivery came I was skeptical of the fabric, there were lots of imperfections like loose strings and the chairs just looked a little tattered. I thought maybe it's just me. However, before the delivery guys were out the door I began pulling strings and looking closely and bothered. Well the next day after dinner, I did my usual of wiping down of the furniture and cleaning when I noticed in the seam of the chair, between the seat and the back, there was a crumb. As I pulled back on the fabric of my chair, I saw it packed with old food. I could not believe my eyes. What I did next made me so mad; I saw that three more chairs are packed with sticky, gooey food. Here it is, Ashley Furniture sold me returned furniture that was cleaned but not well enough. If there was a 0 star for this company, I'd give it and they deserve it. 0n 06/03/2016 we purchased Dining table set, living room sofas, center table and side table covered by Furniture protection from Montage Furniture(www.montagefs.com) worth $4873.00 15 days later, on June 17th 2016 we noticed our living room table top and side table's paint came out and wood warped after water spill on the table. Water spill on the dining table caused a warp on the sides of the table. Imagine a dining table that cannot handle a water spill! After repeated unsuccessful calls with Montage FS, we left voice mails with Ashley. No response. I've sent complaint letters to their HR dept, no response. One store kicks us down to the other. Note : Our warranty is active as the date of this review and that's still of no use. Don't use Ashley for purchase, they sell poor quality furniture. Don't ever buy Montage FS warranty, that's money down the drain. We will be filing a report with BBB against Ashley and Montage FS shortly. read more

ZERO stars from me. Last year in September we went to purchase some furniture at this Ashley store in Linden NJ. We bought a sleigh bed for my daughter with box spring and mattress and a dresser for our bedroom. We were told we will get a phone call within two to three business days with a delivery date. We waited over a month for the furniture to arrive. When it finally arrived and the delivery driver opened my daughters sleigh bed it was full of scuff marks, dings, dents and scratches. Thinking to myself, how can this be out of the box. I rejected the bed and send it back. I called the store but this store never seems to answer their phone, so we decided to go there. I was told that I would receive a phone call in two to three business days with a new delivery date. Well that turned into me having to revisit the store once again for answers. We waited another month for the sleigh bed. When it finally arrived, again it had marks to which with my frustration I decided to keep the bed since they were'nt as bad as the last ones. So this Covid year we decided to visit the store and give them the benefit of the doubt, plus it's convenient, less than a mile away. This time we bought a sofa, an accent chair and a bench for our bedroom. Again we were told "you will get a phone call within two to three business days with a delivery date". I think that line is part of their training methods. Two to three business days turned into three weeks of me calling with no answer and no delivery date. So what do we do, we decided to pay the store a visit. As were walking in, there was a young lady with her face buried in her phone, not eager to at least give us a proper greeting. So we approach the counter. We explained to the young lady our situation, she says "actually you were supposed to call us" "OH REALLY, cause I'm calling you right now and the phone isn't ringing". The two ladies sitting behind the counter next to her looked like a couple of bobble heads when they heard me say that. So we were told "due to the pandemic" you've heard it too, I'm sure. So I get a phone call about two weeks later with a delivery date and they actually delivered on the day. But here is where it gets good. The accent chair had to be picked up at the store because it was on clearance so I went the next Monday to pick it up. As I back up the truck to pick up my chair I see the warehouse bay door open up and there is my chair sitting in a dirty warehouse uncovered, unprotected. So I asked "do you guys wrap this up in plastic or cardboard or something"? To which I was told "oh no, we don't do that" i said "do what, protect your costumers investments"? So I left with my chair. When the delivery arrived, I instructed the driver where to put the bench that he took out of the truck, unwrapped, unprotected (see a pattern here?). While his partner unwrapped my sofa in front of the house. When the bench was placed in it's spot, I noticed two stains on it as if someone was sitting on it in a dirty warehouse. So naturally I rejected the bench. Even though the sofa was wrapped, I still inspected it just to be sure and we kept it. I went back to the store, at this point i don't want a new bench, i want my money back. I expressed my frustrating experiences to "the manager" she was emotionless to it all as if she has heard this all before. Needless to say we will never revisit this store again and it will never get a recommendation from me. They have horrible costumer service, staff and ZERO respect for the consumers. read more

I tried, I really did but this location is horrible! The only good experience I received was with the sales person upon purchase, but following my purchase I've had the most difficult time EVER! I was initially given a random ridiculous delivery window of three months to get my furniture. I didn't like it, but it wasn't a huge deal. The sales person gave me their personal cell number and suggested that I call him directly in order to get an accurate delivery date. Outside of calling his personal line, each time that I called the store for assistance I received attitudes, once in the evening and once in the afternoon. Two different reps, both with terrible attitudes. The one that answered the phone at night picked up the line and sat it down on the desk while she cursed and had side conversations complaining about the customers. When I hung up and called back several times, she FINALLY answered and gave me attitude, then put me on hold. These people answer the phones clearly frustrated and are very short with you, as though you THE CUSTOMER are bothering THEM. I should have been skeptical when they wouldn't give me a date when I ordered the item, and was told they'd call me two days later to confirm date and time of delivery. I went to Ashley to purchase a sofa, Lauren helped me and she was wonderful, she wasn't the least bit pushy she gave me my space to look around and she was there when I needed assistance, as we walked around the manager Meddy introduced himself and said if we had any questions he would be happy to assist. Everyone was friendly and there was a big selection. I found what I was looking for and even the financial part of this shopping experience was easy. I bought a living rooms set: a couch, love seat, 2 end tables and a coffee table. our salesmen showed us the floor set and explained to us that the table with the floor set was not the actual tables that we will be receiving, but he showed us our tables in a magazine. The furniture was delivered 1 week later then scheduled because the day it was supposed to be delivered it snowed. The day it finally came the guys said that the tables could not be delivered because the glue has dried up and the glass fell off so they will be delivered soon and I would have to call. One week later the tables were sent and they were not the ones that we were promised. When I called they insisted that these were the ones that they told me I would be getting and that I had no proof, which is ridiculous. read more

This was my first experience buying furniture on my own. I'm always a bit weary of the quality of the products here so I took my time looking around and doing some research on my phone on various materials and types of wood. Once a selection was made, we sate for what I assumed was the check out process. About an hour and 20 minutes. Once the paperwork was completed I expected to receive my copies and head home.....We were told to head to the office....for check out. I think from the look on my face the sales person could tell my head was on its way to exploding so he motioned for the clerk to try and push us to the front of the line. Even with this small favor, the entire process ate up a whopping 2 hours and 30 minutes. Later on when my first piece was delivered, after the deliverymen left I noticed two huge gashes in the wood. I dont think I would buy anything from here again. Lastly, the parking lot here is awful!! read more

Furniture ok Business is not. I ordered a youth bedroom set for my daughter. 1) the sales people were not very informed. I'd decided I was interested in the set and asked for the total price to get it with the daybed w/ trundle option. The salesperson I had took about 20 mins then eventually had to call another woman over to help him. Another 20 minutes later and I received a price that I was satisfied with. The woman who'd taken over was better informed and when I asked her if the trundle bed could take an ordinary twin size mattress she told me no, that a trundle mattress was needed. I told her I'd have my daughter decide and would be back when she was next working which was a Monday. I was told that day that she'd just left and after a long wait for a sales person a crotchety older man came to assist. We'd already decided to purchase and I only wanted to pay. This man asked me three times if I'd already been given a price and I'd repeatedly told him yes, finally asking why he kept asking. I also asked him about the needed mattress size and he told me a regular twin was fine. I had a measuring tape and told him I was asking just to be sure and he took me around to other beds to reassure me a regular twin would fit. Needless to say I was doubtful. He then proceeded to write up the sales adding an additional $500 from the price i was quoted. Apparently these sales people cannot figure out how to read and calculate their own printed price info. I stopped him immediately and told him this wasn't the price I'd been quoted, which was written on the saleswoman's card that I had with me. Shockingly, he told me to come back when she was there. I then asked for a manager and after a long wait a man came over, asked me the price I'd been quoted then disappeared for another 20 mins. I finally went over to ask what was going on and also asked him if he was the manager. He was not the manager. I was upset that I was lied to. He then told me the price the other woman gave me was wrong but the price he gave was only $18 more. Why this whole thing was taking so long is beyond me. The fact that price seems to take more than an hour to calculate makes me very suspicious. I then asked him about the mattress situation and he confirmed the 1st sales person, a regular twin wouldn't fit. I pointed out that the other salesperson was giving seriously wrong info that could cause major problems and he responded that the other guy was old. After this conversation it still took another HOUR to get the transaction done. I came to the store w/ my daughter ready to BUY and had only a very minor question, in over 30 yrs of furniture buying I've never had such an awful in-store experience. 2)I was told that Saturday delivery is NOT available as an option at all. Sunday is but not Saturday; I've never heard of this. I took the Sunday delivery. I was asked what floor I lived on and I explained I lived in a duplex, a townhouse and that the items were going on the upper floor. I was charged $119 for delivery. 3) the delivery occurred 1/2 hr before the end of the timeframe I'd been given. A generic, unmarked truck pulled up and one of the delivery men came in. Within 30 seconds he was telling me that I had to pay $20 more because furniture was going to the third floor. I do not have a 3rd fl. The guy was nasty and told me either the store or I had to pay, made no difference to him. I told him that he'd be wise to call the store. When I got on the phone the first thing said to me was that I needed to read the back of my sales contract; incensed, I told the guy that I'd clearly informed the sales person where the furniture was going and that he had the option of going online to view my residence where he'd clearly see that my DUPLEX does not have a 3rd floor, after a short time on hold he asked to speak to the delivery guy and needless to say I did not pay additional money. Clearly, $20 is not a make or break situation but the principal of it is. Had I had to pay, the delivery guys wouldn't have been tipped. All in all four guys were in the truck but it was mainly 2 guys then 3 bringing everything in. I had to ask that they properly tighten the knobs on all items because they were all loose. The kicker is, they could not attach the trundle panel to the frame because there were no SCREWS. The guy said he'd check the truck when it came back, yes the truck had LEFT. In the mean time, the guy is hanging around my house trying to call the warehouse which of course is closed at 7pm on a Sunday. When the truck returns he looks and still no screws. I was advised to refuse the delivery of that piece and told to call customer service on Tuesday, Monday, they're closed. Again, I never heard of this. Can you begin to imagine that the delivery man couldn't complete set-up because screws are missing? That was on August 18, today is september 3 and I'm still waiting for this piece. I was told this part had to be ordered, wtf! Not happy. read more

Ashley Furniture We furniture in November, 2013 at an Ashley Furniture in New jersey.. One of the couches was beige corduroy with loose back pillows. There was so little fill in the pillows we had to go to Michaels to buy filler. Being older I am used to turning the seating cushions every week. Imagine my surprise when I attempted to turn the cushions to find if the area was not in view of eye sight it was not beige corduroy but some inexpensive shinny material! At least Bob's Furniture tells you up front about doing this with their furniture. The bedroom set was equally disappointing. I have cats and I could not understand why hair was sticking to the bottom of the wooden bed frame. I bent down to see what was going on to find that if the wood is not visible by the naked eye it is not painted or finished. Farther investigation found lots of compressed wood/particle board incorporated in with the wood. The back of the end table, the back of the chest and the back of the dresser are a thick cardboard. Shouldn't signs be posted advising the public that lower quality items are mixed in with the good stuff? This entire experience was soooo disappointing!!!! read more
