Joshua was very patient with me, as I spoke to him several times and went back and forth on whether or not to get a caterer or just order food from a restaurant. In the end, we decided to hire Joshua to make appetizers and the desserts, as well as a server and bartender, so the reception would be less stressful (and tastier!). Let me tell you we were so happy we did it! The appetizers were delicious. He even made us a little extra so we had leftovers - the bruschetta was delicious in the egg casserole we made :) The cupcakes were also amazing! The server and bartender were professional, friendly, outgoing and very helpful. They even stayed a little extra to make sure everything was cleaned up. Thank you, Joshua, for making our day even better!

My girfriend and I ate at Conscious Creations earlier this evening because I got a Groupon for a…read moredinner for two for $17. I'm going to list the reasons for my two- star review. 1. The food is a 6 out of 10 at best. I had a salad, soup and a vegetarian "enchilada." The dressing on the salad was good, the soup was bland and the enchilada was full of tofu and didn't taste remotely good- or like an enchilada. 2. If we hadn't used a groupon, the prices for each item would have been ridiculous. The salad is $7 and is simply a small plate of greens with dressing. The entrees run between 10 and 12, and really aren't worth it. 3. Josh, the owner/manager, who was also somewhat our waiter is not the friendliest or most agreeable person. I asked if any of the food we ordered had peanuts, since I'm allergic and he looked at me like I was making some big request. He acted like most of the things he did were him doing us a favor, which exactly the opposite of how you'd like to feel going out to dinner. I ended up having an allergic reaction to something in my food, even though he told me my food was not made with peanuts. The ambiance is somewhat nice, and everything is pretty fresh, but even with that, I'm sure there are better vegan/vegetarian places out there. If you have a nut allergy, are not trying to spend a fortune on a meal, are looking for something other than vegetables and tofu in your food, and like friendly service I suggest looking somewhere else. UPDATE: I originally gave my experience one star, but came back to give it another because Joshua sent me a sincere message apologizing for my nut reaction and for the service, and offering a refund for the money I spent on the groupon.

I had the COMBO* plate, which has both the YAM-BEAN taco and the Snapper taco, because you know, I'm indecisive that way. Having recently been introduced to the fine arts of fishin', Snapper Taco blew me out of the water. *Ok, if you've read my other post you know that I'm somewhat price conscious, at $14 for the combo plate, I straddled between compromising curiosity for economics, but the enviro side of me kicked in with arguments for quality ingredients. In the end, I'm glad to have tried both main dishes, I was SUPER well fed, my tastebuds were joyfully singing, so much so when I finally (big portions take a while to ingest) made it to my dance class, food comma ensued, and well... lets just say that my barre exercises were on the comically lethargic side. David created and executed a perfect menu - as I write this, I'm savoring the scrumptious leftover morsels from the day, lamenting their inevitable depletion and regretting that there weren't more no-shows to my party so I could have even more leftovers. The food is THAT good. In addition to spectacular eats, David and his staff provided outstanding service leading up to and including the big day. They took care of everything so I could enjoy being present. I would absolutely recommend The Yam and Bean.

Mickey was so great to work with, we would highly recommend her for any catering needs. She was very professional, prompt and so easy going. She was very clean and diligent about upholding any changes needed for COVID. We would highly recommend Mickey for anyone needing a caterer for a party/wedding.

Mickey catered my wedding a couple of weeks ago and I think I got more compliments about her then on my dress! I think after a wedding most people want to know when they can see photos, but my guests want to know where they can buy Mickey's sauce and candied basil! Working with Mickey was an absolute joy. She was very organized and communicative throughout the process. I choose a venue where we had to do everything from rent tables to dinnerware to buy ice. This seemed like a very daunting task when I started out, but Mickey held my hand the entire time and made sure everything was perfect! From my perspective, the day of was perfect. I'm sure something went wrong, but I didn't notice a thing because Mickey and her staff handled all of it. Mickey even made the time to go to each and every table at the wedding and make sure the guests had everything they need. I also want to mention that a lot of our 185 wedding guests have special food allergies, and Mickey accommodated all of them! I also told Mickey prior to the event that I get hungry-cranky, and she must have come up to me once an hour to make sure I had food if I needed it. I've since learned that the rental place provided us with a few broken umbrellas and other items. Mickey kept track of everything and took the initiative to contact the rental place for me and demand a refund. This is just one example of how Mickey treats her customers, like royalty. On top of how great working with Mickey is, she is a genuinely charming and extremely talented individual. She won't brag about herself because she is to humble; but Google her. There are some articles out there that will tell you just how talented Mickey is!

She partnered with our non-profit to craft incredibly flavorful meals within our budgetary constraints. Our weekend-long program required accommodating a wide array of dietary restrictions. It matters to us that we're contributing to local farms and producers through our eating too, so we especially appreciated her noting all the sources of the ingredients. Our group all raved about the food, and her culinary vision truly enhanced the overall atmosphere we cultivated for our program. We would love to work with her again next year!

She is on top of everything, super responsive, professional, and answered all of our questions. We made our booking way in advance but she followed up with instructions on how much booze to order, what to bring, what they need, and any details you can think of. We had a wedding of 50 guests at Big Sur. It was a super inconvenient location with 3 sets of stairs to the bar area, yet Raeven and Scott are there on time, hauled and set up all of the equipment and bar stuff neatly before our starting time! They are exceptional during the cocktail hour, making delicious drinks after drinks, and never making anybody wait too long. Their selections of cocktails are also extensive and cater to any preference. I chose their melon madness (cantaloupe, vodka, and soda), my husband chose their Kentucky mule. Both are delicious. Once we got to the venue, we realized we are short on wine since we forgot to bring a box of alcohol, and the night before I emailed Raeven to bring 4 extra bottles, and she was able to help us out at such a short notice! They also designed an amazing MENU BOARD!! (see photo). I would absolutely rebook them for any of my events whether for personal or business.
