Standard bakery flavoured food served here. Can sit in cafe, get lunch or take away buns. Banoffe scone was nice enough but lacked bannana. Cupcake didn't have that nice of cream on top and was a bit dry. For it being crunchier flavour I would have perhaps expected some crunchier or caramel flavour of the sponge.

Honestly, the best fry you'll ever taste will be one from Ashers. Ashers was established in 1992 (Seems like it's been a lot longer, it's one of those places I feel like I couldn't live without now) and they've gone from strength to strength growing in size and reputation. In store they offer a great range of products including sausage rolls, all sorts of bread (soda,potato,weaten,brown/white loaves) various savoury bites and that's not even including their sweet range which ranges from their cream buns, tray bakes, home made pastries and made to order cakes! On a Sunday morning you'll often find me here scoffing down a fry (I get the regular one, my boyfriend picks the monster option, and boy what a monster it is!) The last time we were here I asked one of the staff to describe what Ashers meant to her and I loved her reply that "Ashers create what customers crave!" (So true!) and that the company aims to be one of the most popular and recognisable bakeries across Northern Ireland. (They're certainly well on their way here!)

As an American accustomed to large portions, I wasn't prepared to take half my food for later. Smoked bacon and lentil soup. This was a flavor experience. It started as one sensation and then moved to another... each spoonful deserves to be savored. I'm so excited for these leftovers!

Previously I have bought fresh cream buns that weren't so fresh with cream that had soured and dried out bun...which they tried to claim was somehow my fault in the 10mins from purchase to walking home and making a cuppa to sit down with the buns! Giving them the benefit of doubt I trued them again a couple of months later and again produce on the shelves wasn't great but they did have packs of coconut iced fingers that weren't too bad. Anyway they are still in business so figured they must have improved and after a night of children tag team vomiting felt the need for a sugary bun. Eldest daughter took a walk round to bakery and the selection was woeful...they didn't even have coconut iced fingers! I mean come on what kind of self respecting bakery doesn't do them unless they are a fancy patisserie type (which this definitely isn't) they are only getting a 2nd star because my daughter says the german iced biscuits are nice.
