The Antrim Road was crying out for a bakery/sit in deli like this and judging by the queues today the locals have already taken this place to their hearts. There's an exceptional take out selection which is clearly displayed on the wall. It can be tricky going to a new place and deciding what to get but I was sold on the Italian Style Panini with Salami, chorizo, pesto and mozzarella. These are pre made and ready to be toasted so you don't even have to wait around for the staff to combine the ingredients. I was really impressed with the quality of the food, fresh, flavoursome and incredibly delicious. Cheap too - at £3.75 I felt like I was robbing them. I'm in love with this new bakery and I can't wait to lazily amble up the Antrim Road on a Sunday morning and chill out in the lovely surroundings. It's a perfect 5 from me! I mean what's not to like? They where non stop and it was nice that the sit in area was a little bit separate from the take away so it didn't feel overcrowded. Fresh cream buns, tray bakes and all sorts of baked breads were all stacked high. I asked the assistant could I have a selection of 30 random buns, her choice, but this caused confusion so I had to ask about four times. Once I got the message across she picked a fantastic selection of cream buns and a few tray bakes. The buns themselves were out of this world - clearly freshly produced. As other reviewers have mentioned you need to be in early to get the best stuff. Price wise it's great value - I paid under £20 for 30 fresh buns. My one gripe was the customer service - the two workers watched me to try to pull the door open whilst holding three boxes of buns.

What I really am impressed with is their cake decorating service. They offer that service whereby they take a photograph of a loved one (or anything really!) and put it in edible icing onto a cake, and it's REALLY good value, not expensive at all. And everything is crafted with immaculate care and precision. Particular favourite of mine are their scones, which are heaving with fruit, and their Danish pastries, which have just the right amount of cinnamon and beautifully light and flaky pastry. One unusual service but one I think should be highlighted is their Bun on The Run service, which is to do with the noble tradition of bringing your own cake to work on your birthday!You can order your buns and French Village will deliver them for you if you want, and best of all they will give you a free bun for your troubles!
